Chapter 7: a lustful reencounter part 2
Now that they had the communication metia with them it was just a matter of time to find out the cult plans and counter them for what find out thanks to the metia was that they had village surrounded by 9 groups commanded by what they called the fingers but a couple of minutes one of them with started speak like petelgeuse apparently the guy was looking for subaru to get revenge taking another group with him to track him down upon hearing this they realized something the fingers were bodies for petelgeuse so he had to be some kind of spirit until they got possessed by him they probably were just a little more strong that your average cultist so instead of fighting the same archbishop 9 times they could kill all the normal cultist first then deal with petelgeuse but problem of that plan was that subaru would have to distract petelgeuse while they took care of the other cultist so there he was running through the forest while the shadow hands tried to catch him
Subaru:"wow your aim is almost as horrible as your new face"
Petelgeuse:"WHY WONT YOU DIE"
Subaru:"ask satella she seems to have a problems with that"
Petelgeuse:"AT LEAST SHUT UP"
Subaru:"hey do have any idea on how difficult is to came out with this funny one liners while you try to kill me at least try to appreciate them"
Petelgeuse:"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"
Subaru :"well think I broke him, her, it hey petelgeuse what pronoun do you peffer"
Unfortunately the archbishop rage was pass the point of talking he actually started to use earth to try to kill subaru apparently that all his cards thanks to rot claw subaru was able escape the domes that he created the fact that they running in circles didn't help perhaps he should have brought patrasche to this but forest was difficult to navigate for her as this thoughts came to his mind a mirror that Felix gave him for communication started glowing then he could see Felix face.
Felix:"subaru, i think you are going to have to come back here quickly I need rescue"
Subaru:"why did cultist are attacking the base"
Felix:"no emm rem, crush and Emilia arrived and didn't like the plan especially the part of you distracting petelgeuse for so long also rem has her weapon out and thinks that it was my idea so please come back I don't how much I can hide from her"
Subaru:"ok but just for you know its really angry so might want to be ready"
Changing directions subaru started running towards the village so they could ambush petelgeuse well they could say whatever they want but thanks to this strategy both julius and Ricardo had killed at least 3 fingers so wasn't a waste of time upon arriving he saw crush with her sword preparead making subaru an signal so he got out the way after when subaru got out the rank of the attack crush send wind blade against petelgeuse cutting him in midair and throwing him the ground seeing his chance subaru used the rot claws to cut petelgeuse neck killing his host.
Subaru:"thanks lady crush I think we only have 5 left also do you know where Felix is? he seemed terrified of Rem when he call me"
Crush:"Rem is giving him a lecture while they heal the wounded also natsuki could explain to me why you would thought that organizing a suicide mission was a good idea"
Subaru:"well it made sense at moment and to our defence we killed 4 fingers with only a few wounded from our side so I say it was worth it"
Crush:"just be more careful I don't want you to turn into a martyr"
Subaru decided to check how Rem was doing. The village was empty most the villagers were being scolded to safe area by mimi and her brothers subaru didn't expect to hear a familiar voice
Ram:"barusu what the hell happen to you"
Subaru:"hey ram well this a gift that the archbishop left me before dying"
Ram:"only masochist like you could consider that gift, it seems barusu perverted nature has leak to his exterior"
Subaru:"i missed you too, so where is rosewall another important business more important that protecting his territory"
Ram:"lord rosewall is currently attending important matters in the sanctuary the witch cult attacking was unexpected"
The tone in Ram's voice made an alarm go off in Subaru's head. there was no way for rosewall to know that would happen. Then again he always disappeared and appeared when it was convenient for him. Maybe he was being paranoid but it was becoming too much of a coincidence.
Subaru:"so aside for these assholes attacking something else that happen while i wasn't around"
Ram:"well one of the girls of the village asked for a job in the mansion if all things goes right she would start her training soon"
Subaru:"really well maybe i'm going to train along her I'm having problems using this claws in normal things cleaning is going to be challenge"
Ram could notice that Subaru wasn't comfortable with his transformation; she saw that his clothes had scratches around his pockets and buttons.
Ram:"we do know someone who could teach barusu how to fight with those but ram doesn't think subaru is going to be doing cleaning anymore"
As ram heard from all the soldiers barusu was now capable to be Emilia knight she wouldn't say it out loud but she was proud of him, unfortunately his words had a different impact on subaru for the what he heard subaru thought that rosewall would fired him, well he kinda ruin the conference so it was justified well that wouldn't mean he was ban to visit from time to time as they walked to meet rem a soldier called subaru petelgeuse was tired of waiting and all the groups were attacking at the same time the last battle began.
The sun was setting they were bodies all around the forest and few around village something strange is that petelgeuse choose ignore subaru durning the fight sending one of his fingers against him while he attacked everybody hoping to cause the more damage he could until they manage to kill it while these reckless attitude make easier to kill his bodies the amount of damage he dealt to their tropes was significant rem and Felix had to leave front line so they could heal all the wounded everybody was exhausted and to their credit nearly all the cultist were dead a few were even running crush and ricardo were struggling with last finger, subaru was relative unscratched during his battle the cultist seriously wounded and did his best to keep him from helping the rest maybe petelgeuse wanted to cut his support so he can kill him or set an example out him or maybe it was some kind petty revenge for their earlier encounters as he killed the last one of the cultist stopping him subaru reunite with rest, crush and Ricardo were resting as Felix heal them while Emilia who arrived with Felix to help crush fought the last body of the archbishop.
Petelgeuse:"MY BRAIN TREMBLES IT SEEMS THAT WE WERE WRONG WITH YOU, MAYBE YOU ARE WORTHY OF BECOMING THE VESSEL OF THE GREAT WITCH"
Emilia:"i'm afraid that I have to decline the offer"
Both Emilia and puck summoned icicles to throw at the archbishop while she kept moving in an effort to dogge the invisible hands trying to catch her. In a moment one of her proyectiles reached him, piercing his body; after that Emilia used her mana to keep freezing his body until only his head was visible.
Petelgeuse:"finally I will get my beloved witch love"
Emilia:"your love is unrequited"
Emilia froze completely the last finger killing petelgeuse as she and puck got down the ceiling they landed and started talking, Subaru walked towards the group finally feeling a little relaxed.
Subaru:"so is finally over huh"
Crush:"it seems so"
Subaru was looking at Emilia unsure what to do or say to her.
Crush:"go with her I think both of you need to talk"
Felix:"yeah i'm sure you guys can resolve your problems"
Ricardo:"if you can take the whale i think you can apologize to the girl you like"
Subaru was about to say Emilia name but suddenly he started to run away in opposite direction rem who saw subaru in his way to the forest followed him they found him on his knees with both his claws on his head cut himself in the process on the middle of a field
Subaru:"GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT"
Subaru was hitting his head to in ground in vain effort
Rem:"subaru what's happening"
As rem tried to get close to him he scream to her
Subaru :" REM DODGE"
rem jumped out the way then she saw the ground breaking it was an unseen hand.
Subaru/petelgeuse:"MY BRAIN TREMBLES YOU STILL RESIST ME WITH YOUR BODY I WILL BE ABLE TO FREE THE GREAT SATELLA"
Subaru:"SHUT UP YOU FREAK"
Subaru/petelgeuse:"MAYBE IF KILL THEM YOU WILL STOP FIGHTING"
As he said that more hands started appearing from Subaru's body catching rem when petelgeuse was about to crush her time stopped.
Subaru was in dark place there was nothing around or so it seemed from the darkness a voice spoke to him
"you really are going to leave that meat bag take your body and kill her remind me again how did you kill this fine lady"
"Capella how why are you here what is happening "
"What is happening is that your pathetic existence is about to leave us in the mercy of the most ridiculous member of the cult and leave this fine lady tell you I have enough with being inside of you"

"it only natural since you are my last children and didn't have the means to correct you since you destroyed my body so here we are"

"your brothers and sisters created so this fine lady could get rid of whoever I wanted without getting my beautiful hands dirty i took them train them and they would kill all the meatbags that think that they deserve love"

Subaru needed to find her and kill her again; she did the same to other people all pain and torture was just as a sick test. He started running to find her to fight her again but there was nothing.
"now that's my child a bloodthirsty monster lusting for the next opponent now use that against your prey and make me proud"
"SHUT UP even if i could you said yourself that asshole is taking over I have to kill myself and restart "
"wow I really need to spell this out this gonna be harder if you are going to be that stupid you have other solution to all this"

As he said that he felt something in his back then the claws that he thought would never touch him again appeared grabbing his chest into a twisted version of a hug
"because in you I have limitless amount of lust and pain so go out there and make your mother proud and remember i'm always with you my little monster"
Time started moving again without a second thought subaru screamed
Subaru:"I CAN RETURN BY DEAD"
Summoning the being that petelgeuse adored who wasn't happy with him taking over her beloved with a little move of his shadows she destroyed what remained of the spirit making the shadow hands disappear leaving rem free then subaru collapsed with the last thing he saw was rem running towards him and voice saying to his ear

Subaru pov
"I don't know this ceiling".
I was inside of a dungeon well with the petelgeuse's last trick. I wasn't surprised but for some reason I had some commodities. I had a pillow and bedsheets. It made the wooden bed comfortable. There was nobody close to the place so he tried to call for someone.
Subaru :" hey there somebody there I woke up"
His calls for help did attract someone unexpected a floating cat appear in front him
Puck:"good morning whoever you are currently i'm going to test if subaru is still there since the pest around you is equal to a witch lie to me and will freeze you to your death do you understand"
Subaru :"yeah I get it"
Puck:"good now we play questions number one how did you meet lía? "
Subaru:"she saved me before we formally meet but it was in loot house after the fight of reinhart and Elsa"
Puck:"lucky guess second question what did you ask as a reward for saving lía? "
Subaru:"from you I asked the right to pet you and from rosewall I asked for a job as butler"
Puck:"alright if I gave you to choose a bunch of innocents or Emilia who would you save? "
Subaru:"i I would rather try to save everybody but if had no choice i would save emilia"
Puck:"something tells me we had to fix that but is ok for now next if Emilia had a bad day what would you do"
Subaru:"I would try to cheer her up with a date or a joke?"
Puck:"ok last question what are your feelings towards my daughter"
Subaru:"wait how does that help to determine if I am me".
Puck:"it doesn't. you are certainly you that the last question is my duty as a father making sure that my daughter's suitor is competent".
Subaru :"Wait, are you testing me to see if I'm a good match for Emilia. why now I been here for mounts"
Puck :"You were weak months ago, look subaru. my daughter needs someone strong to protect her with his life and thanks to his looks the amount of decent people willing to do it are non existent so you are the best I got and thanks to your authority you can be the person I need with a little fixes here and there"
Subaru:"so you want to mold me into your idolized version of emilia boyfriend"
Puck:"you make it sound like bad thing but yeah that's it"
Subaru:"im, i am hallucinating right"
Puck:"no i'm that desperate for finding someone strong enough to take my place but you have apologize to her for upsetting her"
Subaru:"why is something going to happen to you"
Puck:"i don't know something is trying to mess with my contract with Emilia if they succeed I wouldn't be able to manifest for while"
Subaru :"wait does Emilia knows that you are disappearing"
Puck punched subaru sending him to the ground
Puck:"rule number 1 of taking care of Emilia she doesn't have to suffer any kind of pain physically, emotional or even stress"
I was a mess of emotions right now. I kinda had Emilia's dad's approval to date her but everything that came out his mouth after that made me extremely uncomfortable. Something was really wrong with puck but after processing what puck told me there was something that caught my attention besides the clear mental problems of puck.
Subaru:"Wait what is an authority and how do you know that I have it?"
Puck:"the authorities are powers that are granted by the witch factors they change depending of the individual and grant power even stronger than the divine protections as for I know your misma is so strong that its the only explanation that and your transformation gave it away"
While we talked, Emilia arrived in the dungeon seeing Subaru talking with puck.
Emilia:"subaru is that really you what your favorite food"
Subaru:"mayonnaise"
I answered without thinking no matter how confused I was, the supremacy of the mayonnaise can't be doubted but after that Emilia and I went silent.
Subaru/Emilia :"i'm sorry"
Subaru:"Wait why are apologizing I was the idiot who shamed you in front of everybody and on top of that I broke our promise for nothing "
Emilia:"but I shouldn't have leave you in the capital on your own I just wanted you to stop putting yourself in danger for me if I knowed that the archbishop of lust was there I would "
Subaru:"but I was the one who choose to fight her all that pain was because of my own ego i'm not your responsability but made feel like i was"
Emilia:"even so friends are supposed to take care of eachother I shouldn't just leave you there instead of talking and reach peace"
Normal pov
Over the next 10 minutes both Emilia and Subaru tried to take the blame for the fight and apologize to eachother. puck even left the dungeon tired of the exchange. They could have taken longer until another person arrived. well rem arrived 5 ago but those so busy trying to apologize that they didn't notice seen the eternal loop those two had created rem spoke up
Rem:"Enough, rem will solve this subaru you are sorry for breaking your promise"
Subaru:"i am but Emilia doesn't have to"
Rem:"just answer yes or not"
Subaru:"yes"
Rem:"lady Emilia you are sorry for leaving subaru behind"
Emilia:"i am but if subaru was in"
Rem:"Yes or not".
Emilia:"yes"
Rem:"then rem declares the conflict resolve both parties have reason and now they continue being happy together"
Subaru/Emilia:"but I"
Rem:"no but now we take subaru out of the dungeon and we are going to do group hug"
That day it was clear that whatever this Relationship was rem was the one who had the pants in the thing as both Subaru and Emilia would just generate eternal loops with eachother.
hey guys chapter 7 it's here I hope you like it. i originally wanted subaru to loop but realized that thanks to my own rules I didn't have believable way to kill him and the explosive crystals were becoming too repetitive then i reread one of shadow garden parts and came with this idea what do you think and and the main ship is finally starting since by comparison rem is most mentally stable right now with subaru trauma and Emilia immaturity she is the one who is going to push their Relationship forward so yeah both subaru and Emilia are going to part of Rem's harem by default and I don't plan to add more characters to this relationship.
