Chapter 16: Hiking Buddies

It was a nice day in Adventure Bay as the pups were playing outside with the rainbow parachute. They all took turns as they raised and lowered it, while each pup ran under it before the parachute could land on top of them.

"Wahooo! Your turn Marshall!" Rubble said just as he ran out to the other side of the parachute.

"Okay, raise the parachute!" Marshall said excitedly. The pups held the rainbow parachute in their mouth and raised it up. Marshall ran under it, having fun. However, the dally tripped when he got to the middle of the rainbow parachute.

"Oof! I'm good!" Marshall said as he got back up. Unfortunately, the rainbow parachute started to drop down towards the dally, getting lower, and lower.

"Anyways, I better run out before the parachute - What? AHHH! Ah! Help!" Marshall exclaimed before the parachute landed right on top of him. Now Marshall was completely trapped under the rainbow parachute, flailing about. Thr pups giggled at Msrshall's unexpected situation.

"Hey pups! Wooooooooo! I'm the ghost pup of the rainbow parachute! Wooooooooooooo!" Marshall said playfully, pretending to be a ghost under the rainbow parachute. Everyone giggled at the 'rainbow ghost', as Marshall kept flailing about, struggling to get out.

As they played and giggled, Snowflake thought about all thw fun times she had with Marshall, and decided that maybe it was time to confess her feelings for him. She just hoped she wasn't making a mistake.

"Hey Marshall, would you like to take a walk in the woods with me?" Snowflake asked kindly. Poor Marshall was still under the rainbow parachute, trying to get out.

"Wooooooooo! You want to talk a forest walk with the ggghhhoooooooossssssttt? Wooooooooooooo!" Marshall said jokingly, answering the husky pup's question. Every laughed at Marshall's silly ghost impression.

"Yes I want to go on a walk with you. Ghost or no ghost," Snowflake retorted calmly. Everyone laughed at the goofiness of the situation. Marshall kept flailing about under the rainbow parachute before finally poking his face out of the parachute.

"Okay, cool. Let's gooooooo" the dally replied before pretending to be a ghost again under the rainbow parachute. Every pup laughed, rolling on the grass. This was hilarious! Marshall then got out of the rainbow parachute, and walked with Snowflake into the woods.

The smell of pine filled the air as the two hiking buddies walked on the dirt path. The hiking path was in the woods near The Lookout, so Marshall and Snowflake wouldn't be too far away. Once they were a good distance away, the two pups decided to chat as they walked.

"So what did you want to do on our hike?" Marshall asked curiously.

"I just wanted to have some time together. It's been a while since we've been able to talk as friends," Snowflake replied kindly. Marshall nodded. He understood what she meant.

"I understand. It is nice to have some bonding time, and I really do have fun with you Snowflake," Marshall replied as they kept walking down the dirt path.

"Same here. I really like spending time with you Marshall. You're kind, hard working, passionate, silly, and you always want to make sure everyone has a good time," Snowflake responded. Marshall blushed.

"Thank you Snowflake. But you're a great pup to be around too! You're also kind, silly, and hard working, but you also know when to take things seriously. You always have this despire to make sure everyone is safe, but you enjoy just being a goofball at times. You're not afraid to express who you are," Marshall retorted. Snowflake was surprised, and blushed.

"So do you. Others see you trip and fall with your clumsy accidents and laugh, but I think it's cute. Sure it can get annoying sometimes, but being clumsy is a part of who you are Marshall. I like that you aren't afraid to be goofy, and don't let others treat you different because of it," Snowflake said kindly.

"Thank you. We're also brave," Marshall commented matter-of-factly.

"Brave? Me?" Snowflake said in surprise.

"Of course! You helped me with the fire rescue, even though you could have gotten hurt," Marshall commented.

"Thank you, but I was just doing what I needed to do for the job. If anything, you're braver than me! You go fight fires despite how dangerous it is," Snowflake replied. Marshall gave a small smile.

"Thanks. But after what happened, I need more training in case I get into that situation again. Fighting fires and saving others, I love it. I really love it! But it's also important to know when to be safe and not overdue it," Marshall replied kindly. Snowflake hugged Marshall and the dally hugged back.

"I understand. Also, you really are a cute ghost, Marshall" Snowflake complimented. They then separated from the hug.

"Hehehe. Thanks. But it isn't exactly fun to be stuck under a bed sheet, rainbow parachute, or blanket!" Marshall replied with a giggle.

"I know, I just wanted to compliment you," Snowflake said with a smile. The two pups smiled and giggled at the silliness of the conversation.

As the two hiking buddies walked and chatted however, they didn't notice a big, dark storm nearby, with lightning flashing in the sky.
