"What is going on!?" Natsu shouted. But everyone had ignored him. The Edolas guild members ran around the guild in a huge panic, everyone yelling at Levy to get going. Especially Lucy.
"Come on nerd, let's get this thing moving!" Lucy yelled, her tone annoyed. Levy, who was sitting in a chair in front of some kind of contraption, glared back at Lucy and grit her teeth.
"This can only go so fast bimbo! Why don't you do us all a favor and distract Knightwalker!" Levy growled, pulling a few levers on what she was working on. The guild started to shake, lifting everyone in the air.
"You know if I did that I would die! You bitch!" Lucy screeched. Levy rolled her eyes and typed something into the machine. Everyone was making a huge commotion and cried out for it to go faster.
"Sixty percent! Eighty five percent! One hundred percent, here we go! Hold on to something heavy!" Levy announced. Everyone hung onto pillars, chairs, and other people to stay steady. Natsu covered his mouth with his hand as he started to feel sick. Then, before Knightwalker could destroy their guild, Fairy Tail disappeared. Then it appeared in the middle of the desert.
Natsu and Wendy fell to the ground, sitting up in confusion. Everyone cheered happily around the guild, and Mira passed out drinks for everyone. Except for Levy, she was upset about something but didn't say anything to anyone. "Who was that?" Natsu asked Edo Lucy. She turned to him and crossed her arms.
"Erza Knightwalker. You think you would remember, Natsu. You just about cry whenever she comes." She snickered. Natsu didn't understand that part, but hung his mouth open at hearing the name Erza.
"So Knightwalker is Erza's last name here?" He mumbled to himself. Lucy rolled her eyes at his weirdness.
"Yeah, her full name is Erza Nightwalker."
"I don't think we have time to waste here anymore," Charle said to everyone. "We'll be leaving." Lucy tilted her head at the small animal.
"You look familiar. Like," Lucy gasped. "You two are exceeds. Natsu, what the hell are you doing around two exceeds. And who the hell is that little girl!?" Lucy scolded. She put her hands on her hips, but used one to grab his ear.
"Ouch ouch ouch!"
"What has gotten into you!?"
"I think we should explain ourselves!" Natsu pleaded to them desperately. Charle rolled her eyes, but nodded.
"To explain shortly, we are all from a different world. This is not the Natsu you know. Our world was sucked into an Anima and we assume our friends were taken here. But were not sure why." Charle huffed. Edo Lucy let Natsu's ear go and she pulled up a chair to sit in.
"So my Natsu's still out there somewhere?" Edo Lucy looked down at the ground, her lip quivering. "Anyway, I have an idea as to why your world was sucked up here. You see, we don't have much magic energy left so my guess is that they used your friends for more magic. If your friends so happen to convert into Lacrima somehow, the king might be able to have magic power for quite some time. The king is selfish and evil, he would do anything for magic power." Lucy scoffed. Natsu cursed to himself.
"So we have to go take down this king guy? That sounds easy enough." Edo Lucy laughed outloud at his statement.
"If you can even get close. He has guards covering him at all times. And he has resources to kill you. You guys are doomed." Edo Lucy shook her head. She didn't realize how much of an idiot Natsu's Earthland version was. At least with her Natsu, he would know how to pick and choose his battles. Something she admired in him.
"Were not going to die before we save our friends. I can promise you guys that. C'mon, let's go." Natsu said to his friends from Earthland. They all gave him a look of determination before following him out. Before they left, Levy told them how long it would take to get there on foot. Five days.
"Five days. I don't know if we'll even make it by then!" Wendy sighed in worry. Though Natsu wasn't worried. He was busy trying to catch a frog. Seeing this, Charle glared at Natsu and put her small paws on her hips.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm gonna catch this frog for Lucy, I bet she'll love it." Natsu chuckled to himself, imagining her reaction.
"I doubt that." Happy snickered. Just as Natsu was going to catch the frog, it suddenly grew in size and roared at Natsu. Everyone screamed and ran away from it, but it was hopping closer and closer to them. The only thing thag stopped them from getting eaten, was a whip that slashed the frog so hard it ran away in the other direction. Natsu put his hands on his knees and smiled in relief.
"Man I thought we were goners. Thanks," he turned to their savior, smiling wider when he saw them. "Scary Lucy!"
"Don't call me that!" She retorted back angrily. He stood up and put his hands on her shoulders.
"Now you act like our Lucy!" He laughed happily.
"Why did you come out to help us?" Wendy asked meekly. Lucy looked around the group that stared at her. Her eyes landed on Natsu. A blush came to her cheeks as she rubbed her arm. Why did she come? It certainly didn't have anything to do with that Earthland Natsu.
"It wasn't because I was worried or anything..." She finally said when Natsu grinned her way. Shaking her head, she crossed her arms. "But I decided to help you guys. You seem to really want to do this. There's a town near here that will help you get to where the king is. And well, you can get weapons there since we have no magic."
"So you're gonna help us?" Wendy asked hopefully. Edo Lucy turned to her and gave her a nod. She rolled up her whip and stuck it to her side. She glanced at Natsu once more and sighed quietly. He certainly looked just like her Natsu, but it was definitely not him. She crossed her arms and motioned for the others to follow her. Hours of walking in silence, Edo Lucy finally spoke up.
"Alright, were close to Sycca. This is the town that we'll be able to pick up some weapons." Everyone looked over the hill at the run down town in front of them.
"Why would we need weapons?" Wendy asked with a confused expression. Edo Lucy rolled her eyes and slid down the hill, the others copying her movements.
"Have you forgotten? You can't use magic freely. We have to buy magic weapons from the black market," Edo Lucy scoffed. She looked around to see if eyes were watching her, then she opened a wooden door, that led downwards. "Follow me. And don't doddle!" She whisper-yelled. They nodded and followed her downstairs. Edo Lucy greeted an old man while he smiled at her.
"Oh Lucy-san, it's nice to see you again!" He laughed. She gave him a grin and turned to the others while they awed at the amount of weapons.
"Alright, choose one weapon." Lucy stated. Natsu was the first to pick something up. He frowned at it, trying to figure out what it could do. The old man snatched it from his hand and smiled.
"Good choice, son! To work this, you pull this lever and-" he pulled said lever, and fire spewed from the top, like a torch. Natsu smiled broadly and grabbed the fire weapon back, pushing it in Edo Lucy's face.
"I'm gettin this one!" He laughed. She rolled her eyes and pulled it back from her face. She turned to Wendy to see that the small girl had picked up a capsule. Wendy placed the weapon into the old man's hand and watched as he opened it a tad. Wind began to surround them, making Wendy smile.
"It's just like my magic!" She giggled.
"Then its settled, we'll take these!" Natsu laughed, setting both weapons on the counter. The old man smiled and told them the price.
"Wait, do you guys even have any money?" Edo Lucy asked skeptically. Natsu laughed and pat her upper back.
"Nope! So can you pick up the tab? That would be great, scary Lucy!" Irritated by his words, Edo Lucy glared at him. But she couldn't help but blush at his tone of voice. She still preferred her Natsu, but being bossed around wasn't too bad of a change. She coughed and crossed her arms.
"Fine, but just this once!" She dug through her pockets, when the old man stopped her.
"Oh please, you can just take these Lucy-san!"
"You sure?"
"Yes, without your help, I wouldn't even be here right now. Think of it as my gratitude for your help!" The old man said, shoving the weapons into Natsu and Wendy's hands. Lucy gave the man a small smile and thanked him. She pushed the two exceeds and dragon slayers out of the building, not wanting to keep the old man further.
"So now what?" Wendy asked as she studied her little weapon. Edo Lucy hummed and scratched her cheek.
"Actually, I would like to know a little more about this other me if you don't mind."
Natsu and Wendy smiled.
...
"S-So let me get this straight...I'm a dragon slayer like you two and I call out little spirits to help me fight!? And I'm writing a novel?! What the hell-" She laughed obnoxiously, slamming her hand on the table the seated themselves at. Natsu smiled.
"You sure are just as obnoxious as her." He said in an adoring manner. She piped up.
"Don't call me obnoxious!" Edo Lucy yelled, then turned to see Wendy silently messing with her weapon. Edo Lucy gasped. "What the hell are you doing!? Put that away!" She growled. Wendy squeaked and hid it once more.
"What's the big deal?" Natsu frowned.
"These magic weapons are illegal. Which means they should never be seen in the city unless you're in some deep shit. Got it!?" They nodded and watched as she looked around frantically to see if someone saw. She then froze when there was a loud pounding of feet.
"It's Lucy Ashley, a Fairy Tail mage! Get her!" A group of guards called. Edo Lucy stood up, knocking over the table in the process. Just as she was going to lead the others away, they stopped moving and stepped in front of her.
"What are you two idiots doing!?" She screamed.
"Were gonna try out our new weapons!" Natsu laughed, he directed his at a group of guards and pulled on the lever, shooting a massive amount at fire at them. Unfortunately, they carried shields with them, so it did little to nothing. He scowled and tried again, though nothing came out. "What the hell, why isn't this working!?"
"Because the amount of magic you just used was the equivalence of using that weapon a hundred times!" Edo Lucy yelled angrily at him. Wendy squealed when the guards stepped closer. She couldn't open up her capsule.
"Why can't I open it?" She whined. She smiled when it finally snapped open. But it ended up creating a tornado of wind, whisking the group away to another part of he city. Wendy screamed an apology while they flew through the air. Edo Lucy grunted and grabbed her whip, snaking it around a pole and grabbing the four others. They managed to get out of the tornado, falling through a shack.
"You guys really are hopeless." Edo Lucy muttered in pain. They mumbled an apology and stood up.
"Well, we got away." Happy smiled. Everyone sighed in relief and hung out in the small building, hoping the guards wouldn't find them and take them away. Edo Lucy placed her eye over a hole in the building and looked out to see the feet of the royal guards. She leaned back and rubbed her head.
"We might be stuck here awhile, so get comfortable." They all sat for a few minutes. They would of left, but they could still hear voices. One voice made Natsu perk up considerably.
"Hey! Let me go!" It was so familiar. Natsu peeked his head out of the door and gasped. Earthland Lucy was there, surrounded by guards as they tugged on her body.
"Its Lucy Ashley!" One of them said. Natsu stepped out and went to try and help her, along with Wendy. They only paused when she sucked up a breath.
"Wait Lucy! Magic doesn't work here-" He yelled, only to gape when she successfully used her celestial dragon roar to take out the guards. Edo Lucy stepped out with wide eyes as she saw her counterpart.
"So this is Earthland magic. It's so impressive." She muttered. Earthland Lucy dusted herself off, only for her eyes to widen. She looked up to see Natsu and Wendy standing before her. Along with Charle and Happy. And from behind her, Marie was there as well, smiling happily at the two other exceeds.
"N-Natsu! Wendy!" She yelled in excitement, running to the two. Lucy embraced Natsu in a tight hug, bringing his body close to hers. He laughed and pat her head. When she let go to look up at him, she noticed something in the corner of her eye. She gasped when she saw another version of herself. "A-And...me?"
"Hey." Edo Lucy said.
...
"So this is my Edolas counterpart?" Lucy asked skeptically. Wendy and Natsu nodded.
"Yeah, there's a whole guild of them." Wendy smiled.
"More importantly," Natsu scoffed. "How are you able to use magic!?" Lucy pursed her lips and tapped her index finger on her chin.
"I don't know...all I remember is waking up in the grey and strange world. Then Mystogan came and stuffed some pill in my mouth. Marie here shot me up into the Anima. Luckily, me and Gajeel ran into each other. But we decided to split up and that's when we came across you guys."
"Gajeel is here too!?" Wendy muttered.
"Well yeah, he's a dragon slayer too. He wouldn't be affected by the Anima, just like I wasn't."
"But that doesn't explain why you have magic." Natsu said as he crossed his arms.
"Well," Lucy grinned. "Maybe I'm supposed to be the heroin of this adventure. Since I am the strongest now!"
"Great, now we have to rely on Lucy." Happy moaned.
"Hey, stupid cat!"
Edo Lucy watched as the group argued and laughed with one another. She looked down at the ground. Why was she allowing outsiders defeat the king? Shouldn't that be the guild's job? They're the ones that live in Edolas! Shaking her thoughts away, she stood up.
"We should find a place to stay the night." She muttered. Stomping off, the others stood with her to catch up. Lucy crossed her arms and glared at the back of Edo Lucy's head. Her counterpart was more of a killjoy than anything. They found their way into a cheap hotel and grabbed a room. Lucy explored the room, the bathroom first.
"I think I'm going to take a bath..." Lucy hummed to herself, grabbing a towel from a rack. A hand planted on her shoulder, getting her to turn to them. It was Edo Lucy. She gave Lucy a smirk.
"I think I'm going to join you." At that moment, Lucy could of swore Edo Lucy was definitely Erza. Lucy shakingly nodded and allowed her counterpart to soak in the tub with her. They mostly just talked about their worlds and what was alike or different. Once they were out, Edo Lucy laughed, a towel wrapped around her, and came into the living room.
"How indecent." Charle huffed.
"Miss scary Lucy, Natsu is in here you know..." Wendy blushed. Edo Lucy ignored them and smiled.
"Wow we really do look alike!" She exclaimed.
"We look so alike it's starting to freak me out." Lucy mumbled. She too was wrapped in a towel. Natsu stood up and looked between the two. Edo Lucy smirked.
"What, do you want to see some more?" She said as she tugged of her towel. Lucy screamed.
"Don't do that when you have my body. No!"
"Wow, its so crazy how much they look like each other!" Natsu laughed to Wendy, ignoring the two. Edo Lucy looked to her counterpart.
"Hey do you have a spirit thingy that can cut hair?" Lucy nodded and took out Cancer. Cancer quickly snipped off chunks of Edo Lucy's hair. Edo Lucy ruffled her hair and clipped in her skull clip once more. She looked into the mirror and nodded to herself. Lucy only frowned.
"Do you really want it that short?...I mean hair is very important to a person."
"It's just hair, what's the big deal?' She said nonchalantly. "I mean, when you're so focused on the survival of yourself and your family, trivial things like men and women, and hair don't matter anymore," she sighed sadly. Lucy crossed her arms awkwardly and looked away. She shook her head.
"Let's sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a big day." Lucy muttered. Everyone nodded and found various places to crash. And once the sun rose, Natsu and Wendy were startled awake by a shrill scream. Lucy proceeded to stomp into the living room, holding a small note.
"What's with you...?" Natsu asked with a yawn. Lucy growled.
"With all that talk yesterday, I was sure she was going to help us. But no! She ran away, she just left us to do this all on our own!" Lucy stomped angrily. Natsu and Wendy rubbed the back of their heads.
"Well, if it's scary Lucy you're talking about, I think she has the right to leave if she wants. I mean, she helped us enough." Natsu told her. Lucy turned her glare to him, making him jump back. Maybe he should switch Earthland and Edolas Lucy's labels.
"Someone with my name and my face shouldn't be allowed to abandon their friends. I don't care if she doesn't want to help anymore!" Everyone sighed and got ready as Lucy continued to rant and rave. The only thing that even got her to shut up and stay happy was her getting a book. She hummed happily while they walked down town. Natsu chuckled lightly.
"Man, if I would of known a book would get her to shut up, I would of done that ages ago." Natsu said with an amused smile. Happy and Marie laughed, but Lucy couldn't be bothered.
"Say what you want, but I can't help but be happy. I just got a book on the history of Edolas, everything is so interesting. There's even these gods that live here called exceeds. They're even higher up than humans." She continued to mumble different facts, but only stopped when she saw some commotion going on in front of them. Everyone stocked up to the crowed and seeped in with them.
"It's the king!" Marie whispered. Everyone studied the man while he smiled at his citizens. And behind the king, was a chunk of Lacrima. Not doubt that it was their friends. Natsu frowned and watched the old king speak.
"Citizens, I have found a Lacrima!" Everyone cheered at his words, so he continued. "With this Lacrima, we'll be able to have endless magic energy. I promised you that and intend to keep it! It's only a matter of time now!" He cackled, slamming his staff into the Lacrima. Natsu watched with wide eyes when the Lacrima cracked, peices falling to the ground
"You asshole!" Natsu yelled, but it was drowned out from the cheers. Lucy gasped and quickly wrapped her arms around his middle, pressing her cheek against his back. Tears stung the corner of her eyes as she desperately tried to stop him from making a huge mistake.
"Not now Natsu! please...I know it's hard but we have to do this right..."
"But our friends-"
"I know, but we have to wait!" She interrupted him. She managed to drag him away from the crowd. "We have to get to the kingdom, but how can we possibly do that in time? Soon, he'll turn all our friends into magic energy..." Lucy said solemnly. That's when they came across a supplies jet. Lucy smiled widely and had everyone hide behind a pillar.
"What are you planning?" Natsu asked excitedly, forgetting about the little encounter earlier. She turned to him with a smile.
"I think we need to sneak on that jet."
"How do you suppose we do that? Guards are thoroughly surrounding that place." Charle scoffed. Lucy smirked and pointed to herself.
"Me of course. I can just blow everyone away!"
"Then it wouldn't be sneaking in. We mise well just take over the jet." Marie joked, rolling her eyes. Natsu grinned.
"Good idea!"
"No wait, I didn't actually mean-"
"Then it's settled!" Lucy grinned. "I'll distract them okay, and you two get ready to control the jet." Marie groaned and face palmed. Though she was ignored. Lucy was the first to stand. She ran out in front of the guards and made a face at them.
"Come on, let's fight!" She told them. They turned to her.
"It's that Fairy! Let's get her!" They yelled. She sucked up a breath and directed it towards them.
"Celestial dragon roar!" The guards screamed as they were pushed back by her roar. Though it wasn't long until more came. Lucy managed to keep them back long enough for Natsu and Wendy to sneak passed, but guards noticed them quickly.
"Shit!" Natsu paled. But just as they were going to get arrested, a car pulled up. It knocked over many soldiers and landed in front of them all. Lucy smiled when she saw the Fairy Tail symbol on the side. There was a man inside with goggles on, so she couldn't really see who it was. The doors then opened.
"Get in if you want to live!" Everyone jumped in as he drove off, getting away from all the commotion. Lucy was in the front seat, she was just hunched over and moaning. Her stomach felt like someone was grabbing it and twisting it to make an origami swan. Natsu was definitely having the same feeling. The man driving stayed silent for a moment.
"So you guys want to defeat the kingdom?" His voice was familiar. Lucy shakingly looked up to see Natsu's face staring back at her. Was she hallucinating or was there a Natsu driving a vehicle?
"N-Natsu!"
"Me...?" Earthland Natsu gurgled.
"Lucy asked me to get you guys and take you to a specific location so that's what I'm doing," he said in irritation. Lucy, forgetting her motion sickness for a moment, cocked her head in confusion. He rolled his eyes. "Not you, my Lucy."
"Well, I don't care if it was Edo Lucy that asked you to, thank you anyway." Lucy mutterd sickly. Then, Edo Natsu stopped so abruptly that Lucy's head flew to the dashboard. She whined and rubbed her forehead.
"Were here. Get out." Lucy looked at him with a mix of shock and anger. Though Natsu just hopped out of the car and kissed the ground. Wendy and the exceeds also left the car, Lucy ending up and being the last to leave.
"Better do as your friends did and get out because I can't use up anymore of my gas Lacrima. I don't even know if i can make it back to Fairy Tail. Depends on if they relocated." Edo Natsu said harshly. Lucy scoffed and stepped out. Edolas Natsu was a real jerk. Natsu then stood up and suddenly grabbed Edo Natsu by the back of his shirt.
"What are you doing!" He yelled as Natsu continued to drag him out. Once Edo Natsu laid on the ground, Natsu stood over him for a moment, before bending down and leaning close into his counterpart's face.
"Where did you learn not to get sick inside a vehicle?"
"I dunno! I swear, I've always been like that so please don't hurt me!" Edo Natsu said as he had tears in his eyes and was holding up his hands in defense. Lucy gaped.
Where was ths jerk that was in the car a moment ago?
