Welcome to Earth

The universe is massive.

That's something that can't be argued as false. Looking at the night sky anyone can see it to be true but it still remains only a small fraction that we can see with the naked eye and the use of telescopes. It extends for miles upon miles and so on that, no one is sure where it goes or where it ends. Made up of planets and stars and galaxies.

The exploration of the stars is something that has been going on for centuries. And it is still expanding with the help of technological advances. New galaxies are still being found and decisions of what constitutes as a planet are still being made. But one question will always remain: Are we alone in the universe? Are there other worlds with other living beings out there in the universe in places that have yet to be discovered?

Sasuke never paid any of those conspiracy theories any mind, if there were other beings out there in the universe, cool, if there weren't that was also fine with him. But having witnessed the crash of a ship that most definitely did not come from earth had him rethinking his stance on the subject.

He had been sitting on his front porch when it happened. Feet kicked up on one of the extra chairs, nursing a beer that he realized was getting warm, he'd have to get a new one soon. The small radio next to him playing one of those alternative rock stations on low volume. He takes off his cap running his fingers through his hair pushing it back before putting the cap back on letting out a tired sigh.

It had been a quiet evening, the sun was still going down painting the sky in reds and pinks and purples. He had dropped the bottle when the ship crash-landed. He had been going to take a drink when it passed in front of his line of sight about a mile out crashing into the earth.

For a moment he doesn't believe what he'd just witnessed. He lives in one of the more secluded areas of the city, choosing to live away from people. He had bought several acres of land with money he inherited from his parents when they passed and built a house on it. His brother still worked in the city, having taken over the family business. Sasuke hadn't wanted that life but he still visits his brother from time to time and vice versa.

Living in an area where you hardly have any neighbors made it so that you never saw anything out of the ordinary. There was nothing for there to happen. So seeing what appeared to be an alien spacecraft had his eyebrows shooting up and his eyes widening.

He sits up abruptly knocking over his chair trying to wrap his mind around it. Before he even realizes it his running off the wraparound porch and into his pickup truck kicking up dirt and dust in its wake.

He speeds off into the direction of the crash, mind going a mile a minute.

Did that really just happen?

He should just go back to his house and pretend it never happened. But by then he's already at the sight and he practically stops breathing at what he sees. Slamming on the breaks he leans forward over the steering wheel, "What the fuck." He says breathlessly.

Slowly he opens the door, stepping out of the truck, the crunch of gravel under his boots. His heart pounds in his chest with every unsure step he takes forward.

The ship was massive, it looked to be in the shape of an 'M', the two pointed outer wings curving slightly inward. It was grey in color except in some parts where it reflected blue. The points of the wings and the point of what he guessed was the area where the cockpit was located were partially buried under the earth.

It surprised him how it was actually still intact, the impact should have caused it to erupt in flames. Alien technology, huh.

He takes careful steps closer staying vigilant to his surroundings, who's to know how many of them currently occupy the ship. He makes his way to the back of the ship where he sees the thrusters, they're hissing letting out smoke but other than that nothing looks wrong.

Against his better judgment, he steps closer to the ship, close enough to touch. Just as he's gonna put his hand on the ship there is a loud hissing that reaches his ears. He stops all movement turning his head slowly to the right where he sees a ramp opening up. Then there's someone stumbling out dropping to their knees.

His brows furrow in confusion, this alien practically looks human. Removing his hand from its place on the ship he turns to face them, it appears to be a woman. Long flowing pink hair that curls at the tips reaching past her hips, her face is currently tipped upward taking in the last rays of the sun. She almost looks to be glowing.

Her eyes are closed so she hasn't seen him yet but when she does he hopes it doesn't become a hostile situation.

He watches as she takes in a deep breath holding it in for a couple of seconds before she lets it out, finally opening her eyes. He takes a step back hoping to put a bit more distance between them but the crunching of gravel under his boot startles her out of whatever peace she was feeling.

She shoots to her feet and turns in his direction. A look of pure malice twists her features, her teeth bared. Sasuke is taken aback because even though her stance gives off the impression that she'll kill him if she has too he can't deny that her beauty is not of this world. And ironically it's true because she was not from his world.

Her eyes shock him though, they're fully green, and he can't see a pupil. And they're luminous, shining brightly against her pale skin. Almost like beams.

Another thing he notices is how tight the bodysuit she wears is against her skin. It's all black with sleeves that reach her wrists, the collar is open and the zipper is pulled down to the top of her breasts. It's especially tight around her chest putting emphasis on her cleavage and Sasuke does his best not to stare, there's also a utility belt hanging around her the curve of her hips.

He gulps pulling his eyes away from the lovely sight back to her eyes that are still glaring at him. He brings his hands up in front of him but the sudden movement has her lowering her stance bringing her hands out in front of her.

What he sees next shocks him even further. Her hands start glowing a faint green until it gets brighter and brighter, her hair even turns a darker shade almost red and he knows that's not a good sign.

"Wait!" he shouts, crossing his arms in front of his face, he turns away closing his eyes waiting for the inevitable. And then nothing happens. He turns back to her cautiously, slowly opening his eyes.

She's looking at him curiously, hands lowering. She still looks warry of him but the imminent danger he found himself in previously was slowly dissipating. She takes a step towards him and he takes one step back.

"Stay right there," he says pointing at her "Don't come any closer."

She doesn't heed his warning, but he watches her open her mouth and words come tumbling out. Words in a language he doesn't know or understand.

He trips over his feet landing on his back with a thud looking up at her from where she's standing by his feet. She was fast.

He watches as she kneels down next to his hips placing her hands on either side of his head. Her hair tumbles over her shoulders shielding them both. She smells like some kind of flower. She's still speaking to him, words he still doesn't understand.

He closes his eyes not knowing what to expect, she's probably going to eat his face off like that one show with the kids, but then he feels soft smooth lips touch his own and his eyes shoot open. His breath catches in his throat.

It's nothing more than a light pressure that only lasts a couple of seconds and then she's gone out of his sight. Sasuke lays there frozen. Unable to move. Confused.

She just kissed him.

She just kissed him.

He hears her speak again but this time he actually understands the words coming out of those soft smooth lips. He wants to feel them again.

"I apologize, I did not mean to startle you." His head turns in her direction and he notices that her eyes now look like his eyes, still green though but not like before. She had pupils and irises now.

"I-I can understand you," he asks perplexed, "how?"

"It is a gift my people are born with," she explains "we are capable of assimilating languages through physical contact."

"Through kissing?" he asks.

She turns her head to the side and he notices a blush spread across the bridge of her nose. "Well…no," she starts "Any form of physical contact works, but is kissing not a more fun way of doing it?" she asks, a mischievous glint in her eye.

Sasuke coughs, sitting up next to her. "Uh, well…" he takes a look down, noticing her hands and how she has what appears to be metal cuffs wrap around her wrists. The chain had obviously been broken. "Why are you wearing these?" he asks reaching out for her hand.

She quickly pulls her hand away towards her chest, holding it there. She hesitates before she speaks. "I…I had been kidnapped and sold into slavery." The light that was so bright in her eyes seems to dim, "I spent six months bidding my time, doing all that they wished. Awful things you could not imagine, wishing it would all end," she looks up at him, eyes misty "until I found an opportunity to escape."

He feels bad for having brought up awful memories but he's also glad she was able to get herself out of that situation. He tells her as much.

Her eyes brighten again hearing his words and resolve shines through, they almost glow as they did before, "I will not go back, I refuse."

"Hey it's cool," he says placating her "you can stay here if you want. Though people will probably come looking for you." He adds in afterthought "It's kind of hard to miss the massive space ship." He finishes pointing at it.

She gasps almost as if she's forgotten she crashed it. She curses in the language she was speaking earlier before she gets up and runs back into the ship leaving Sasuke sitting on the ground staring at her backside. She comes back out a moment later and the ship disappears right before his eyes. Slowly and then all at once.

She comes back to him holding what looks like a small device, no bigger than her palm with various buttons. "This will hide the ship from your people," she says holding it up.

"That's uh-that's pretty cool." Feeling awkward still sitting on the ground, he gets up dusting off his jeans. He's taller than her he notices.

"I will stay with you?" she asks, unsure if he meant what he said earlier.

"Oh yeah, if that's what you want to do." He laughs nervously, bringing a hand to the back of his neck.

Her eyes brighten and a smile just as bright stretches across her features "Oh that would be most wonderful." She leaps on him them, wrapping her arms around his neck and Sasuke has to balance himself so they both don't go tumbling down.

Once she's finally back on the ground he steps back giving them some space, "I'm Sasuke by the way." He holds out his hand for her but she only looks at it curiously, "You're supposed to shake it."

Her brows furrow but she stretches her arm out taking his much bigger hand in hers, shaking it from side to side "I am Sakura." She beams at him and he chuckles at the action.

"Welcome to earth."

There were still so many questions that needed to be answered and many things that would need to be taken care of. He wasn't even sure if he was making the right decision. The little story she told him could have been a lie.

But when he thinks about it, in the very short time that he's known her, he's noticed she seems to wear her emotions openly, for the whole world to see and you can't fake that. No one is that good at faking it.

Either way, he was going to take it one day at a time, it was getting rather lonely at home anyway.

He may not know a lot about the situation he now found himself in but he does know one thing.

His quiet life out in the country was about to get interesting.
