Chapter 36.

(Zac POV)

It was crazy finding out that everything was safe now. But I was still wondering what was coming next.

I was up and dressed ready for the morning swim just was waiting for Mimmi and Mel to show up.

I was on The Last of Us Remastered starting it off.

Then I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said.

Then Mel came in. "Ready for our swim," She said.

"Yes," I said saving the game then once it was saved turned off the PS then we headed out with her and we made sure no one was watching and jumped into the river letting our tails form and sped off to Mako. Going the same way we had always went.

Then we headed to the cafe after we got back on land and dried off. To see Evie.

"Newsflash. Cam is interested in Carly," Evie said.

"He told you he was interested?" Mel said.

"Of Course not," Evie said. "He said he wasn't,"

"So he's not then," Mel said.

"Carly, Can we grab a juice," I said.

Then we headed out and met up with Mimmi.

Which then we went back to Mako for a while and then we went back to mine and Spent the night there.

The next morning, Mimmi was already away by time we got up.

As Mel and I was going for our swim Mimmi shows up. She was upset.

"Hey what's up with you?" I said as she came over and hugged me.

"Ondina isn't going back," Mimmi said.

"What?" Mel said.

"But that's what she has been wanting since she got here," I said.

"Yeah, now she isn't going back," Mimmi said.

"You are going to come back for me," I said.

"Of course, Your my brother," Mimmi said.

"Well, how about we get our minds off it before you have to go to work," Mel said.

"Let's go for a swim then," I said.

"Okay, I'm in," Mimmi said.

Then we went out and made sure no one was watching or looking jumped into the river and let our tails form and sped off to Mako. Where once there we pulled ourselves out on the beach and just layed there. Mel to my right and Mimmi to my left. While they were both just laying against me.

Not to much later we were dry again and had our legs back.

"I need to get going, I'm working today," Mimmi said.

"Head back to mine and get changed and we meet you at the cafe," Mel said.

"That would work, Get something to eat before you go," I said.

Mimmi actually agreed with it and head on to get ready

As Mel and I stay there for another 10 mins and then we got back into the water and swam back to a spot nearby the cafe and got out and dried off then we headed for the Cafe just catching Mimmi talking with Evie.

"Hi, Mimmi, Something wrong?" Evie said.

"It's Ondina, She's not coming back to the pod," Mimmi said. "We've worked so hard to save our home and now she's throwing it away,"

"Sounds like you could use some retail therapy, These just came in, want to try them on," Evie said.

"Sure," Mimmi said rushing on in.

"Mimmi is really taking this hard," I said.

"I know, But it's not like we could talk Ondina out of it," Mel said.

"I know, She too stubborn," I said.

Then Mimmi came out.

Then we headed to work with her. Even though she just hugged me, I could tell she saw Ondina in there and it didn't got well.

But We got to the Marine park.

"See you after I finish," Mimmi said.

"Always," Mel said.

"See you later, Sis," I said before she headed in.

"I don't know about you but I'm hunger," Mel said.

"Yeah, Let's go back and get something off David," I said.

Then we headed back to the Cafe, And sat down outside.

Not to much later, we see David walking about.

"I'll be with you 2 in a minute, Zac, Mel. I'm flat out and Carly didn't show up for her shift," David said.

"Tried calling her?" I said.

"Non-stop. She won't answer," David said.

"That's not like Carly," Mel said.

"I'm a bit worried, actually, She went fishing on Mako with Cam but that was ages ago," David said.

"Let's go," Mel said.

Then Mel and I left and found a spot where no one would see us jump in. So we jumped in and let our tails form and sped off towards Mako. Once we got there, we started looking around for Cam's boat and we found it. But when we surfaced no one was on it. So we swam near the edge and we see Carly and Cam on the beach.

"At least they are all right," Mel said.

"Come on, Let's find a spot to dry off and found out what happened," I said.

Then we went under again and found a spot to get out and dried ourselves off with our heating powers and went nearby to try and get Cam's attention.

Then I threw a berry at him. But nothing so I tried again. Which got it and signal him to follow us and went back in.

"What's going on?" I said.

"It's a disaster," Cam said. "The anchor got stuck, we had to swim ashore,"

"It's cool it'll make a great first date story," Mel said.

"Thanks of the sympathy, But I'm supposed to be impressing Carly," Cam said.

"Well, at least she's still alive," I said.

"That's not funny, She catches food better than me, She made a fire better than me, She does everything better than me," Cam said.

"You should've taken her to the movies," I said. "Because you buy popcorn better than anybody,"

"I'm serious," Cam said. "This is humiliating,"

"Look, Don't sweat it, Okay," I said.

"We have an idea how to redeem yourself," Mel said.

"It better be a good one," Cam said.

"They're the only kind we have," I said.

So we filled him in on the plan which worked.

Then we swam back to the cafe. Where we met up with Evie.

"Hey where have you been?" Evie said.

So we told her everything about it. Then Cam and Carly showed up.

"Hey," Evie said. "Where have you 2 been?"

"Cam took me fishing on Mako," Carly said.

"Catch anything?" Mel said.

"Seaweed," Cam said.

"I guess the fish just weren't biting, huh?" I said.

"Well, the trip wasn't just about fishing," Carly said.

"Yeah," Cam said. "Yeah, it was more about spending time together,"

"That's so sweet," Evie said.

"I had no idea Cam was such a sensitive guy," I said.

"That's not all, Did you know he can hold his breath for 2 and a half minutes?" Carly said.

"Really," Evie said.

"Yep," Cam said.

"Show them," Carly said.

"Watch this," Cam said then held his breath but started coughing. "Anyone want a juice?"

"We're good, We got to get going," Mel said.

Then we left and headed back to Mel's place.

Which we spent some time then I had to head back to mine.

Where when I got there. I went and got changed for bed.

Then there was a knock on the door, But it was nearly 10pm who was it.

So I went and opened the door to see Mimmi there.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey," Mimmi said hugging me and we went in and closed the door then locked it. Then we went and sat down on the sofa.

"What's going on?" I said.

"Ondina and I finally talked," Mimmi said.

"Finally, So you both over it," I said.

"Yes," Mimmi said.

"Good," I said. "I hated see you like that,"

"Well, not anymore," Mimmi said.

"You staying," I said.

"Yes," Mimmi said. "I being with my brother as much as I can,"

"I can tell," I said. "Not that I mind,"

"Can I use that shirt again," Mimmi said.

"Yes, It's in the chest of drawers, middle one," I said.

"Thanks Zac," Mimmi said. Then she got up and got it. Once she was in it, Mimmi came back and sat down and cuddled into me.

"Better," I said.

"Yes," Mimmi said.

"Good," I said. "I'm out. Want to sleep here,"

"I rather be with you. It helps when I am here," Mimmi said.

"Come on then," I said.

As we turned off all the lights and I let Mimmi get in first before switching off my lamp Then getting in myself. And of Course, Mimmi snuggled up against me.

"Night, Mimmi," I said.

"Night, Zac," Mimmi said. "I love you,"

"Love you too, Sis," I said.

Then we closed our eyes.

I will tell you something when Mimmi and I are together, it was really easy to sleep. So I could tell you I get what Mimmi said about it helping her sleep.
