Chapter 42.

(Zac POV)

Mimmi and I woke up. We still haven't found whatever we need to change back, To be honest I'm starting to wondering if we can ever change back.

We went and got changed. Then We headed out. With Rikki.

"Ready," Rikki said.

"Yeah," Mimmi said.

"Let's get Emma and let's go," I said.

As We headed off. And Found Emma. Then we took her to where we have, As we can jump into the water without being seen. Let's our Tails form and we swam to an area maybe with a Reef.

Eventually we finally got out where we went in and then we headed for the Cafe where we met up with Lewis.

"You won't believe it, We timed ourselves and guess how long we can hold our breath for?" Emma said

"15 minutes," Rikki said.

"That's impressive," Lewis said.

"Yep, It's pretty cool," Rikki said.

"We could probably stay down for longer if we really tired," Emma said.

"You're on," Rikki said.

"You think you can beat me?" Emma said.

"Zac and I have, We could hold it for almost an entire 12 hours," I said.

"What," Rikki said. "Bring it on,"

"You guys must be jumping out of your skin about this stuff," Lewis said.

"Yeah," Emma said.

"All of us but Cleo," Mimmi said.

Then Cleo showed up.

"Hey Cleo guess what?" Lewis said. "These guys can hold their breath for 15 minutes,"

"Lewis," Emma, Rikki, Mimmi and I said.

"Sorry," Lewis said.

"What's going on?" Cleo said.

"We've been you know swimming," Emma said.

"It's the best thing," Rikki said. "The reed is out of this world,"

"Should see Mako," Mimmi said.

"Yeah, It's Beautiful in the mornings," I said.

"How," Emma said.

"You do know we can swim a lot more faster," Mimmi said.

"What," Rikki said.

"Yeah, We can go from here to Mako in 10 minutes," I said.

"That's great," Cleo said. "So has anyone been able to finish that Calculus homework? Question 7 a nightmare,"

"We missed you this morning," Emma said. "Why weren't you answering your phone?"

"And that project on geography, that's due Thursday," Cleo said. "We really need to get together on that one,"

"Listen Cleo, Whatever's happened to us in incredible, These 2 know more about this than any of us," Rikki said.

"You've got to come out with us," Emma said.

"The water is amazing," Rikki said.

"I'm not doing it ok," Cleo said. "I didn't ask for any of this to happen to us, So stop bugging me about it, ok," Then she walks off. Then Lewis too.

We were at school but once we got free of Class we meet up with Lewis.

"You're bummed out right," Emma said.

"She's just taking a little time to, Yeah, I'm bummed out," Lewis said. "I am pretty sure she doesn't want to talk about it,"

"Forget it Lewis, We can deal with this. It's a girl thing," Emma said. As We headed over. "Cleo, About this whole Tail business,"

"There are more important things in life than seeing how long you can hold your breath for and frolicking with the Dolphins," Cleo said.

"I don't frolic," Rikki said. "I glide,"

"Whatever, it's not important, I don't want to talk about it," Cleo said.

"How can you say that, This is the most amazing thing that's ever happened to us," Emma said.

"She right there," I said. "Zac and I always went out together, Even if we were born like this, It's the most amazing thing ever,"

"Well what about the turtles?" Cleo said.

"Turtles," Mimmi said.

"Apparently, a sea turtle got caught in a fishing net this morning," Cleo said. "That's important,"

"I don't believe this, You're such a hypocrite," Rikki said.

"Why?" Cleo said.

"Cleo, Your Dad's a Fisherman, His nets are the ones trapping the turtles," Rikki said.

"That's not true," Cleo said. "My Dad would never do that,"

"Really," Rikki said.

Then Cleo walked off.

Emma, Rikki, Mimmi and I went off and jumped into the water and sped off. As Rikki and Emma followed us, That was where we found a Turtle in a net. Rikki goes up and gets a knife then comes back down and Cuts the Net as We got the turtle out Then Rikki Puts the Knife back.

As we see the Turtle swim away. As We headed off again. All the way back to our spot and got ourselves out as Mimmi, Rikki and I dried ourselves off then Emma. Then we headed for the Cafe. As a news report was playing.

Then Cleo shows up.

"Hey, guys what's going on?" Cleo said.

"Hey Cleo your Dad's on TV," Bryon said.

"I've fished these waters for a long time, And there's only one thing that causes damage like that, A huge rogue Shark," Cleo's Dad said.

"My Dad," Cleo said.

"Sorry to have to tell you this Cleo, But your dad didn't catch a shark," Rikki said.

"It was a turtle," I said.

"We cut the net to set it free," Mimmi said.

"No way, My Dad wouldn't do catch turtles," Cleo said.

"It's true Cleo, I'm sorry," Emma said.

Then Cleo was on her Dad's boat then came off it as we catched up with her.

"He denied everything," Cleo said. As we got back to the Cafe. "It's really awful, I men what could I say, I know you're lying Dad, because my mermaid friends saw you fishing close to the nesting beach,"

"He's using illegal nets too," Rikki said.

"It's True," Emma said.

"They didn't have those grid things in them," Mimmi said.

"This just gets worse and worse," Cleo said." My Dad,"

"Hold on, We never saw your Dad on the boat," I said.

"But it was his boat, Right," Cleo said.

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean it's him," I said.

Then We left. All but Cleo.

"So now what," Rikki said.

"We will have to wait until everything has died down before we can even go out again," I said.

"Meaning We're grounded," Emma said.

"Yeah," Mimmi said.

As we split up.

Then Next day, Rikki, Mimmi and I went to met Emma. And we were heading for a spot near the beach.

"Guys," Lewis said Catching up with us. "Cleo,"

"Where is she?" Emma said.

"She's in the water," Lewis said.

"At last," Rikki said.

"No," Lewis said.

"Lewis, Speak like a normal person," Rikki said.

He finally filled us in and the 4 of us took off and Ran straight for the water and jumped in. As soon as our tails formed, we sped off towards Cleo and found her in a net.

Emma went close enough and Froze it making it stop. Then We got Cleo out and Swam away from the boat. Taking us up.

"You okay," Emma said.

"Yeah," Cleo said. "I panicked, I Didn't know you could hold your breath for so long, But then I remembered what you guy said, and you know what? I lost count at 6 and a half minutes,"

"Later guys," Rikki said.

"Rikki's ready we need to move come on," I said as We went under again. And took off. Back to shore. Where we got out and Rikki, Mimmi and I dried ourselves off. As Well as Cleo and Emma. Then Cleo went off.

Then Emma went home. As did Rikki, Mimmi and I.

Then Next morning. We were heading towards the beach with Cleo. This time.

"Guys, look, Turtle eggs," Lewis said.

"Little turtles are so cute, I hope they all make it," Cleo said.

"Zac, Race you," I said.

"You are on," Mimmi said.

As Mimmi and I ran on in. And jumped at the last second. As our tails formed and Mimmi and I raced off to Mako.
