What's up guys! We're for another chapter of The Seven Shooting Stars of Light and the Thirteen Immortal Darknesses! Now if you've all read the last chapter, I said that our chosen guardians will be getting another chapter of training as well as Glossaryck coming to see them. Well this is that chapter, so I'm not too sure on how long this will be. But considering that they'll be getting a crash course in magic, I'd say it should be a decent length.
With that out of the way, let's begin the chapter, shall we?
Chapter 12: Magic Training 101 – Keyblade Addition
As the sunny slowly began to rise on the Land of the Departure; it's rays soon made their way through the window and into the room of one Rosa Avenger, who was sleeping in her bed wearing a red short-sleeved shirt with a picture of the Heartless emblem on it, black shorts and currently had her bed covers draped across her body as she lightly snored.
"Mmm… come on; I'm not getting up yet, you over-grown ball of gas." Rosa mumbled as pulled her covers over her head to block out the sun and go back to sleep for a bit longer.
However, that was not to be as the sound of knocking was soon heard at her door which was soon followed by the sound of two people's voice. Two voices she had become accustom to for the last couple of days now.
"Rosa! Come on, it's time to get up now!" "Yeah! Up and atom you sleepyhead! It's time for breakfast!" two very excited voice said from the other side of her door.
"Uhh… okay, okay, I'm getting up now. Just wait a second you two, okay?" Rosa said as she unwillingly pulled her head out from under the covers and got up from the comfort of her bed. She then went over to her bedroom door. What she got was the sight of Star and Ruby falling into her room as she opened the door; Star wearing her new outfit and Ruby wearing the outfit she got after diving into Janna's heart with Marco. "Again, you two get way too excited in the morning. I haven't even gotten to brush my teeth yet, so just hold on a second, okay?"
"Okay." They both said as Rosa stepped over them and headed for the bathroom.
As she was making her way to the bathroom to get freshen herself up for the day, Rosa let her thoughts of the last couple of days circulate.
'It's been a couple of days since Star and the others came here to the Land of Departure; in that short time Master Asteria has been having us all train in preparation for our journey to find the other Guardians of Light.' Rosa thought as she entered the bathroom and went right into brushing her teeth. 'Mainly we've just been doing basic combat training to help Jackie and Janna get a better feeling of fighting with their Keyblades. Janna seemed to pick up on it very quickly, thought seeing Star and Marco fight and being around them more than Jackie may have contributed to that. But that's not to say that Jackie is getting better herself, she good at reacting quickly to attacks and can counter fast enough too if her sparring match with Blake is anything to go by. She just needs to be a bit more aggressive in the attacking department and she'll be a fine.'
After brushing her teeth and washing her face, Rosa made her way back to her room where she found Star and Ruby looking at a couple of things she had in her room.
"Wow Star, look at all these different comic books Rosa has. I didn't even she had any." Ruby said as Star came over to look at Rosa's comics.
"Hmm; The Adventures of Fionna and Cake Vol.5, The Exploration of the Underground Caverns. Oooh, this one sounds really good." Star said as she looked at the front cover which showed a girl with blue eyes wearing a rabbit-themed hat with exposed locks of blonde hair, wearing a teal blue shirt with elbow-length sleeves, a dark blue skirt, and over-the-knee socks with two thin, light blue horizontal stripes at the top with a cat with white eyes, muzzle and a small nose, white fur with coffee colored spots, and a large, bushy tail following her as they were exploring inside of a cave with torches and multiple different colored eyes spying on them openings in the cave walls. "You think Rosa would let me borrow it for a while so I can read it?"
"Wait, why do you get to read it first? I'm the one who noticed it first." Ruby said.
"And how exactly is that important? Besides, that comic looks really fun to read so I want to read it first."
"Just wait till after I'm done reading it first."
"No way, I want to read it first Ruby."
Before the two could continue arguing, Rosa knocked on the doorframe which prompted them to look up at her as she leaned against it.
"I'm pretty sure before you two can start to argue over who gets to read my comics you need to ask me first, right?" Rosa said as she walked into her room. "I leave to go brush my teeth and come back to you to raiding my room?" she said smirking at them.
"Uh well, I wouldn't really call it raiding. It's more like… umm…" Ruby said trying to come up with something to say.
"Inspecting!" Star said. "We were inspecting your room to make sure that… everything is okay in here. Right Ruby?"
"Uh yeah," Ruby said going along, "We were just making sure you were comfortable in your room. Since we'll all be working together and all, we have to make sure each member of our team are able to do their best."
"Really? And how exactly does you two going through my comic books help with my performance?" Rosa asked.
"Umm… well… Star?" Ruby asked directing the question to the blonde next to her.
"Huh? Uh well… you see… umm… I've got nothing. I just really want to read that comic you have, pretty please?" Star begged.
"What! That's being sneaky Star! I wanted to ask Rosa to borrow it." Ruby said while Rosa snickered.
"Sigh, I figured you two would be interested in my comics if you came in my room." Rosa said. She then walked over to her shelf and pulled out another comic. "I'll tell you what Ruby; you let Star borrow that comic for a bit, and I'll let you read this one here." She said as she showed Ruby comic she had pulled out.
The title read "Azure Striker GUNVOLT issue no.3, Media Tower Climb" with a picture of a young teenage boy with spiky blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a blue coat and pants with a few black details and black boots with glowing blue highlights wielding a gun that had a white gatling and blue sphere on it. He was shown fighting a person who had black eyes and green irises and wearing black and grey armor with green highlights with jets for feet and a white halo on his back that had spearheads which also seemed to double as lasers as the two fought on the cover.
Ruby was practically drooling as her silver eyes widen and sparkled as she gazed at the cover of the comic.
"What do you call this amazing thing in your hands right now?" Ruby asked pleadingly.
"This my dear Ruby Rose; is the comic book series Azure Striker Gunvolt. The most action-packed, heart-pumping, weapon and technology based comic series to ever come from the Land of Departure." Rosa said. The story is about a 14-year-old boy names Gunvolt or GV for short and his fight against a group called the Sumeragi Corporation."
"Please! Please! Please let me borrow it!" Ruby asked as desperately tried reaching for it, only for Rosa to pulled out of her reach.
"First, let Star have my Fionna and Cake comic and then I'll gladly hand you this one."
"Okay! Okay!" Ruby said as she quickly handed the comic off to Star who took it happily. Rosa then handed the other comic to Ruby, who took it excitedly and hugged it too her chest.
"Just be careful not to mess it up Ruby, okay?"
"Yeah sure, no problem."
"Okay then, now could you both tell me why you came to 'inspect' my room?" Rosa asked as she went to go get her clothes.
"Oh right, Granny Asteria told us to come wake you up since she said you like to sleep in a lot." Star said as she was reading through the comic.
"Of course she did." Rosa said as she pulled out some clothes from her closet. "Did she mention anything else?"
"Oh yeah she did. She said that after breakfast, today we'd start learning basic magic. You know so Marco, Janna, Jackie and the others can learn to fight long –ranged too." Star said confidently.
"You make it sound like you're not going to be taking part in the training today, Star. You're going to have to learn these spells too." Rosa said.
"What?" Star said surprised. "But I already know how to use magic even the advanced stuff."
"Okay, then what's the first basic spell you know from your spell book?" Rosa asked
"Oh umm… that is… uh… well…"
"I rest my case." Rosa said. "Look Star; I know how good you are with magic as does Master Asteria. But that means she's going to be looking to you also help the others learning how to properly use magic. That way they know what to do and you'd also be learning something yourself."
Star was silent as she processed what Rosa had said, and she was right. Star had started to realize while her magic and spells were strong in their own right, when it came to basic spells she needed vast improvement.
"Your right Rosa; besides you and granny Asteria, I'm the only other person who's good with magic and I'm acting like I'm a super expert. But… I don't even know the first basic spell in my family's book. How am I supposed to help the others learn about magic?" Star asked.
"Well that's the thing Star, sometimes when you try to teach others something new, you end up learning something yourself." Rosa said. "Also, have you noticed that Ruby has not said a word while we were talking?"
"Yeah, I was wondering what was up… with… oh." Star said as she and Rosa saw that Ruby was completely immersed in the comic Rosa gave her. "She must really like comic books."
"Yep, I think Ruby showed me her own comic books one time. And let me just say, the amount she has is insane." Rosa said.
After Rosa had finished getting dressed and she and Star managed to bring Ruby back from comic book land, the three made their way to the monastery's dining hall.
Rosa had chosen to wear a red top with two black crescent lunar symbols on her chest, gray shorts with a red rope around the hips serving as her belt, a pair of knee length black socks and open toed grey boots.
As the three entered the dining hall, they saw Janna reading a book while Yang and Weiss were talking about something as they were sitting at the table until Weiss took notice of the three.
"Well you three sure took your time getting down here, what kept you?" Weiss asked.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I was having a bit of a problem getting up this morning since I'm not usually an early riser." Rosa said as she grabbed a bowel from the cabinet bellow and a box of cereal from the same place and sat down next to Yang. "So where are the others at?"
"Marco went outside to meditate after he finished eating and Jackie and Blake are off at the library reading." Janna said as she went back to her book.
"Uh Janna?" Ruby asked. "What exactly is that book your reading anyway?"
"Oh this? It's a beginner's guide to basic magic. Asteria said we'd be learning to use magic with our Keyblades for today's training, so I'm looking up what spells we're going to learn and so far I'm liking a couple of them here." Janna said as she kept reading.
"So seem to really be looking forward to this Janna," Star said, "Do you really want to learn how to use magic that much?"
"Yep, that's because there's something I want to try out and see if it actually works."
"Oh really? I don't suppose you could tell us here what this something might be?" Yang asked.
"Ah, ah, ah; that's my secret Xiao Long, you'll just have to wait and see." Janna said smirking as Yang rolled her eyes playfully.
"Oh well, it was worth a shot." Yang said as she leaned back in her chair.
"So I'm guessing my master is setting up the field for the training today then?" Rosa asked as she ate her cereal.
"That's right, she said we'd be starting out with a couple of the basic. And depending on how well that goes, she said we might be doing the advance spells next." Weiss said as she took a sip of her coffee. "Personally; I'm hoping we get the chance to learn some of the advanced spells."
"Can't wait for the chance to drop an ice glacier on someone, can you, your frostiness?" Janna said which instantly got Star, Ruby, Yang and Rosa laughing while Weiss just glared at Janna.
"Janna come on, I'm eating here. You're going make me choke on my cereal." Rosa said in between breaths and a mouth-full of cereal.
"I don't find that funny at all!" Weiss said.
"Yeah, your right Weiss. It's not funny, it's hilarious." Yang said as she almost fell out of chair from laughing.
"I swear Yang, it's like you and Janna were born to make jokes when it comes to me and ice." Weiss said as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Then try practicing with some of the other elements out there, like fire and water." Yang suggested.
"Yeah Weiss; there's also electricity, wind, earth. A whole bunch you try during training today." Ruby said.
"Hmm, I have been thinking of expanding the use of different types of Dust, I suppose I could try during training." Weiss said.
"Just be sure you don't melt if you plan on using fire magic, okay?" Janna said grinning as another round of laughter was heard in the dinning along with Weiss groaning.
Later on, everyone had gathered outside at the training ground with Asteria where they could see a couple of target dummies were set up.
"Now for today's training, we'll be practicing the use of magic. As you all know by now; the Keyblades are not only used as physical weapons, they're also natural conduits for magic. So today I'll be teaching you all some of the basic spells you can perform with your Keyblades." Asteria said. "Don't let your lack of any formal training in this area dissuade you; as I've said before, even novice Keyblade wielders can perform magic on the level of those who are far more well versed in the spell casting."
"So what kind of magic will we be learning today?" Janna asked. "I read a book saying that offensive magic could be used in several different ways based on something called formchange, are we going to be doing anything like that?"
"Formchange?" Yang asked. "You like what Ruby and Marco did before?"
"Not exactly," Asteria said, "allow me to explain. Formchange is an ability that grants lets the user alter their abilities or the form of their Keyblade. Certain Keyblades may also have the ability to Formchange a second time." She explained. "Currently there are several types of formchanges that a wielder can call upon for use; Guardian, Striker, Elemental, Blitzer, Rage and final Ultimate. Each one specializes in one category; Guardian as the name implies, focuses on defense. While Striker Form mainly specializes in attack power."
"The Valor Form that Marco and Ruby can use is kind of like a pre-evolution of Striker Form." Rosa said.
"So like If Marco and me keep training in Valor Form, does that mean it will eventually change to Striker Form?" Ruby asked.
"Hmm… I would think so." Asteria said. "Now back to what we were originally talking about. As Janna said, offensive magic can be cast in four different ways. Basic style, Proximity Style, Dual Style and Artillery Style." She listed. "We'll be mainly practicing with the Basic style, which is the standard way of spell casting."
Asteria then summoned Star Seeker to her hand and points it at one of training dummies. A large ball of fire appears on the tip of her Keyblade before flying off and reducing the dummy to a pile of ashes within seconds.
"Holy Corn!" Star shouted with shock in her eyes along with everyone besides Rosa at what they saw.
"And that's supposed to be basic magic?" Weiss said in disbelief. "It was so strong I can feel the heat from here."
"Well even a basic spell can be quite powerful Weiss," Asteria said as a new training dummy appeared and took the place of the previous one, "it just depends on the amount of practice and time one puts into their training. Now who would like to go first?"
"Me! Me! Me first please!" Ruby said jumping excitedly.
"Haha, okay Ruby, come over then please."
Ruby zipped over to Asteria and immediately summon Crescent Rosa Fenrir to her hand.
"Okay so what do I do first to do that crazy fire magic you did just now?" Ruby asked Asteria excitedly.
"Well, I think we should practice a spell before we try that one I just did."
"Huh? How come?"
"Well Ruby, magic mostly depends on the person emotional state of mind. A person's emotions can effect a spell in many ways, some good and some… not so good." Asteria said.
"So when using magic; we have to keep and collective, correct?" Weiss asked.
"That's right," Asteria said, "This is especially important during combat. Even during battle, Keyblade wielders must maintain a calm mind when using magic. Your enemy isn't going to just sit around and let calmly hit them with a spell, now are they?"
"And I'm guessing you want Ruby to try a spell that won't burn everything down around use with her over-excitement right?" Yang said while Ruby puffed her cheeks up at what her older sister said.
"Haha, precisely. So Ruby, we'll I'll be teaching you the Waterga spell. It's a relatively simple attack spell, but is very powerful and good for taking out small groups of enemies."
Asteria then raises her Keyblade and points it at the three training dummies. Soon water began to flow and swirl around Asteria's Keyblade as it formed into the shape of a bullet. Ruby and the others watched on in awe as Asteria grasped her Keyblade with both hands pulled back before thrusting it forward, firing the large water bullet at the dummies that were soon blasted off their stands by the tremendous blast of water pressure.
"Holy!" "Oh. My. Corn!" Janna and Star said in complete shock.
"And that was a basic way of using that?" Marco said.
"That kind of makes me wonder how strong the other versions of the using that spell is." Jackie said.
"Whoa! And she did that with water too!" Yang said.
"That level of power… I don't think even dust is capable of something on this level." Weiss said. 'And we have to try and do something like that? I need a lot of focus just using my glyphs in combination with dust.' She thought as she saw Asteria dismiss her Keyblade.
"As you can see this spell is very strong, plus it can be cast in many different ways in the basic style. So try casting in the way that best suits you." She said. "Now Ruby, it's your turn. Go on,"
"Oh, okay." Ruby said as she saw the dummies reappear on their stands, fully restored. "So I can use this spell in any way I like, right?"
"Yes that's right, which every way is best for you." Asteria said. "You just have to focus on the element you wish to call upon, in this case water, then just cast the spell in the way you find most effective."
"Hmm okay, I think I get it." Ruby said as she got ready.
Ruby focused her mind and as she did, the others saw water beginning to gather around her Keyblade. Ruby then began twirling her Keyblade in her hand with the water, making it look as if holding the surface of a whirlpool. She then quickly swung her Keyblade three times, two horizontally from left to right and the last one vertically firing three water saw-blade discs at the dummies. Two of the dummies were cut horizontally in half, while the third was blasted off its stand.
"Whoa, way to go little sis!" "Nice work Ruby." Yang and Blake said.
"Yes, that was very good Ruby." Asteria said in agreement, which made Ruby proud.
"Thank you. I thought it was going to be a little tough, I mean Weiss makes using dust look so easy. But once I focused and thought about how I wanted to use the spell, it didn't see too hard." Ruby said.
"Well I'm glad you see it that way." Asteria said. "Alright, who would like to go next?"
"That'd be me, right here." Janna said as she walked up and summoned Fatal Crest to her hand.
"Oh, so seem very eager Janna." Ruby said.
"If you say so. I just want to try out the "you-know-what" I told you guys about, see if it will work." Janna said as she took her spot in front of the targets that had been reset. "So I just have to make sure I'm using water and I cast this spell anyway I want, that right?"
"Yes, that's right." Asteria said.
"Okay then."
Janna held her Keyblade out in front of herself as she placed her hand over the dragon skull and closed her eyes. Just like with Ruby, water began to surround Janna's Keyblade. Only it seemed to mainly be gathering around the dragon skull with its eyes glowing a bit more brightly.
"Okay," Janna said with a smirk as she opened her eyes, "I think that should do it."
Janna then pulled Fatal Crest back behind her left shoulder and then swung it forward, releasing a torrent that took the form of the skeletal dragon of Janna's Keyblade as rushed towards the dummies and quickly circling around them before opening it jaws and striking down in an explosion of water. When it was all over; the dummies were in pieces and everyone was soaking wet, except for Janna and Asteria who had cast a barrier over themselves.
"Well that worked out just how I wanted it too, not bad if I do say so myself." Janna said as she rested her Keyblade on her shoulder.
"Yes," Asteria said a little surprised, "I must say, I wasn't expecting… that to be the level of your magic."
"Well I wasn't expecting to get drenched in water today!" Weiss shouted as she was wringing out her skirt.
"That makes two of us here." Blake said as she wringing out her coat.
After everyone had been dried off (Thanks to Rosa using a combination of a fire and wind spell), training continued with Jackie going next, followed with Marco going after her. Jackie's attempt was her shooting a sphere which took out two of the three dummies, followed by Marco having his Keyblade coated in water before pulling it back and then quickly slashing in front as all three dummies were torn in half by a huge slash wave of water.
"Well done Marco," Asteria said, "that looked like a variation of the Zantetsuken technique using the spell."
"Haha, thank you very much, ma'am." Marco said with a modest smile on his face.
"Okay Star and Weiss, which of you two want to go next?" Asteria asked.
Star was starting to feel a bit nervous now, after seeing how everyone else had performed the spell. It was a basic spell, and yet everyone had done it well. Even managed to does it, even if she only hit two of the targets.
"I'd like to go ma'am." Weiss said raising her hand.
"Very well, come up then Weiss." Asteria said.
Weiss nodded as she made her way over and stood in front of the dummies as she threw Myrtenaster and shifted it into Myrtena Splitter. Weiss then glided her hand over her Keyblade as water began to surround it. She then impaled Myrtena Splitter into the ground, creating three separate surges of water that rushed towards the dummies before all three surges crashed into their targets, consuming them in a towering water tornado. When it dissipated two of the dummies were missing an arm and leg, while the third was torn in half.
"Way to go Weiss! That was awesome!" Ruby cheered.
"Yeah, I might have to think about changing your name from Ice Queen to Mermaid Princess." Yang joked.
"I believe that Jackie already holds the title of Mermaid Princess Yang." Rosa said smirking as Jackie blushed.
"Oh, good point. Never mind Weiss, looks like you'll be staying as our no.1 Ice Queen." Yang said.
"I don't even want that title, period!" Weiss shouted in frustration as she walked back over to the others, shaking her head while Asteria was trying to giggle.
"Okay, now I believe it's Star's turn to go last." Asteria said as she ushered Star to come over. She saw Marco placing his hand on Star's shoulder as he gave her a reassuring smile, before Star began to make her way over. Asteria noticed that Star still looked a little uneasy as she looked at the targets. She then had an idea that might help Star to relax a bit. "Star? Before you begin, there's something I'd like you to know."
"Huh? Okay, what is it?" Star asked.
The others watched as Asteria then whispered something into Star's ear.
"What do you think she's telling Star?" Ruby asked.
"Maybe a tip on how to do the spell?" Marco guessed, shrugging his shoulders. "Star kind of struggles a bit when it comes to doing simple spells sometimes."
"Well sometimes the simplest things can be shown to be the most difficult." Blake said.
"True and Star didn't start doing magic until she got her family's wand, right Marco?" Yang asked.
"Yeah. But the moment she got the wand, she seemed to know what spells to use. I think the magic responded to her imagination." Marco said until he and the others heard Star and Asteria laughing about something.
"What are they laughing about? Did she tell Star a joke or something?" Janna asked.
"Not sure," Jackie said, "But whatever she did seems to have gotten Star excited."
Over with Star and Asteria, the two were laughing after what Asteria had just said.
"That really happened?" Star said covering her mouth, trying to contain her laughter.
"Oh yes, the whole thing was a complete mess by the end of it all." Asteria said. "I don't even think the first time I tried was that well… disastrous. So you see Star; don't worry about if you can do it or not, just dig deep and do your very best."
"Okay." Star said confidently stretching her hand out as her Keyblade, Comet Heart appeared in flash of stars and moons. "Granny Asteria, you might want to back up a bit for this one." She said.
Asteria did as her great, great, great, great, great, great granddaughter asked and moved back a bit, curious as to what she what was going to do.
Once Star saw that Asteria was far enough away, she held grip of Comet Heart with both hands and pointed it at her targets in front of her as she began to focus on the spell. Soon water began to gather and form into a sphere around the tip of Star's Keyblade. The sphere of water then began to expand larger as it shifted from a sphere to a cone shape as water tendrils started to expend and swirl around Star.
"Wow! Look at how much water Star's gathering!" Ruby said amazed at the spectacle.
"We can see Ruby," Weiss said, "my concern is how she plans on using it."
"Well if it's Star, I'm sure it's going to be something unexpected." Marco said as he continued to watch.
As the water tendrils grew longer around Star, she moved her right foot back as the cone in front of her expanded more around her and the water began to glow slightly. She then opens her eyes and takes up an inside right stance before pushing off with her right foot and lunging forward with her Keyblade out in front in a spiraling water drill as Asteria and the others looked on in amazement as Star blasts through and completely destroys her targets, coming to a stop in a kneeling position behind the watery carnage she left behind.
"Holy! That was… awesome Star!" Yang shouted.
"You seriously flatted those dummies like pancakes!" Ruby cheered.
"What did I tell you guys? Always expect the unexpected with Star." Marco said.
"Or in this case, expect her to come charging down at you in the form of a raging water drill." Rosa said as she looked at the amount of damage do. "Seriously though Star, that was a really incredible way of using the spell, nice."
"Hehe, Thanks Rosa." Star said as the two high-fived and Asteria walked over.
"Well done Star, that was an excellent demonstration." Asteria said proudly. "All of you have done very well in your first try at wielding magic. But know that I'm only giving you an idea of the concept; the reason I asked you all to cast the spell in your own ways was to show you all that how you choose to wield it will be up to you."
"Ooooh, so that's the reason." Ruby said.
"Well obviously that was the reason." Weiss said. "And you wonder why it's so hard for you the understand some of the lessons back at Beacon during class."
"Hey! There's a huge difference between this and studying for a test!" Ruby said as Asteria giggled silently before speaking again.
"At any rate; seeing how well you all performed today, I believe we can move on to the next type of spell casting." She said as Star, Ruby and Janna had looks on excitement in their eyes. "However this next type will be more difficult to learn, so be prepared."
"Yes ma'am!" they all said confidently.
(Mewni, Butterfly Castle)
Moon was walking the halls of the castle after having just finished a discussion with Dave and Wrathmelior Lucitor via mirror call. They called to inform her that a few days ago when they sent a couple of their knights to get on the heartless in the Underworld, they returned and informed them that new and different ones were seen alongside them.
These new Heartless had the same yellow eye and black heads as the ones they've seen so far; but they were more spherical in shape and larger with massive arms and hands, short legs, huge feet, and tiny heads. They were also seen wearing purple sleeveless bodysuit edged in gold trim; the trim also laces up the front of the body suit across their big bellies.
The Lucitors told Moon that these new Heartless were seen either lumbering about or sleeping for the most part which had Moon breathing a sigh of relief.
"Well that's good, at least for the most part." Moon said to herself. "But where in corn sakes did they come from? And why did they appear now? Perhaps Glossaryck could shed some light on this."
As Moon made a mental note to consult with her former mentor, she reached her office and opened the door. As she sat down at her desk, she noticed a letter was on top of a couple of papers she was going to look at for today.
"What's this now?" she said as she picked up the letter and saw that it was written by Glossaryck, so she began to read it.
Dear Moon, this letter is to tell you that I've kind of taken my leave and am headed back to Star to resume her magic training. Now I know what you're thinking, normally I would just up and go without leaving so much as voice message telling you that I'm leaving. But this time around I felt like I'd do it for once; and just to let you know I already know you were going to ask me about the appearance of those new Heartless that the Lucitors called to tell you about. Those guys will mostly just sleep the day away as long as you don't bother them.
"How in the multi-verse could he have possible known I was going to ask him that?" Moon sighed as she continued to read the letter.
Anyway Moon, just letting you know in case you had any questions for where I was. Oh, also Star will be taking a little trip me for her training and I'll be bringing Marco along too just make sure Star doesn't get bored or anything in case to decide to swing by earth. So yeah, don't want to make this thing too long, so I'll wrap it up here. Again, don't worry about Star, I'll make sure she finds her best way of become a queen Mewni needs.
Sincerely, Glossaryck
P.S. Quest Buy did have that new pudding with the yada-yada berry bits in them, but they also had some yada-yada berry flavored mini pies too. Next time we call a meeting I'll make sure to bring a couple with me, okay? ;)
"I have a feeling that you'll be the only one eating those pies, Glossaryck." Moon said as she placed the letter down on her desk and began looking at the others papers she had to go through.
However unknown to Moon, a figure wearing a black-hooded coat was watching her from one of the castle towers that was near her window, before vanishing into a dark portal.
Back in the Land of Departure, Asteria had begun teaching her pupils the others types of spell-casting. Right now they were learning how to use Proximity Style Magic, this style involves the art of using offensive magic around the user and requires the use of Keyblade Transformations. So far though; the only ones who can currently utilizes this style are Rosa and Ruby. Asteria currently had the two engaging in a mock battle so the others could see how Proximity Style magic is used.
They had both transformed their Keyblades with Ruby wielding her scythe Crescent Rose and Rosa having transformed her Keyblade into a long, razor-edged red and black katana which Ruby was currently having a hard time dealing with due to every time Rosa swung a wave of either ice or fire would spring up from the ground and nearly hit her.
"Come on Ruby!" Rosa shouted as she charged at the young huntress-in-training, swinging her sword at Ruby's right side only to meet the shaft of her scythe, "you're not going to get anywhere jumping away from me like that."
"Well if you didn't keep trying to either cook me or freeze I could show you a thing or two!"
"That would defeat the purpose of the match. We're supposed to be showing how to use Proximity Style Magic, which I'm doing right now!" Rosa said as her sword flashed red before a ring of red circles appeared around Ruby and soon exploded, blasting her backward.
"Whoa! Did you see that!" Star said excitedly. "What was that!?"
"That Star, was a move I call Crimson Backdraft. If my opponent blocks my attack, they get hit by a burst of energy with the same amount of force I used in my attack." Rosa explained as Ruby got back up on her feet.
"Okay, that's it. Now you're going to get it Rosa!" Ruby said as she sped towards Rosa with her scythe held behind her.
"Getting tick-off and charging at me isn't the smartest idea." Rosa said as she prepared to guard against Ruby's attack. But then noticed that the blade was glowing yellow and had electric sparks dancing along it. "Oh shoot!" She said jumping back as Ruby horizontally swung her scythe, releasing a sweeping electric wave around herself as it hit Rosa and pushed her back.
"Ha! How do like that? I call that move Lighting Sweeper." Ruby said before Asteria walked up and stood in between the two.
"Well done Ruby, that was a very impressive display." Asteria said smiling before looking over to Rosa, in which her smile turned to a grin with a knowing look in her pink eyes. "Rosa, take that as a lesson to not provoke your opponents."
"Noted, sheesh." Rosa said as she huffed and dusted herself off and saw Ruby sticking her tongue out at her to which she rolled her eyes in mock annoyance as the training continued for the rest of the day.
As the Moon hung in place of the sun in the Land of Departure that night; while Asteria's pupils were all asleep after so much training, she herself was in her room reading while also going over the progress of today's training.
"Hmm, They've all gotten the hang of using basic magic, more or less." She said to herself. "In regards to Jackie and Janna; Janna seems more taken to magic and using it effectively, though that may have to do with being around Star and her very…. Energetic use of magic." She said giggling a bit. "Now Jackie, she doesn't seem to have any problem in her experience and exposure with magic…"
"Very true," a voice said from Asteria's window, "I think she's just not use to the idea of the fact that she can use magic. But just give her a bit time to adjust to it, and she'll be just fine."
Asteria looked over and sure enough, floating in from her window was her old teacher and guide to her path of being Queen of her former home, Glossaryck.
"And how are you so certain of this?" Asteria asked as she closed the book she was reading and placed it on her nightstand as Glossaryck floated over and sat on her bed next to her.
"Because that girl doesn't hide who she really is. From what I've seen during the times she's been around Star and Marco, she may have the appearance of this cool and laid-back person. But she isn't afraid to be silly or say when something is bothering her; which is probably why lady fate has decided she be granted the chance to wield a Keyblade."
"Okay," Asteria said, "then what of their other friend Janna? Do you have an explanation for her?"
"Hmm… nope. Because I'm pretty sure you got that answer when you first met her."
"You… are still unbelievable." She said shaking her head as she smiled. "So can I assume you showed up here now because something has happened?"
"Well nothing yet, except for a couple of Heartless showing up here and there back on Mewni and in a couple of the other dimensions." Glossaryck said as he poofed up a cup of pudding. "I've already inform Star's mother and the High Commission, and they've taken the liberty to inform the other place the heartless have appeared in."
"So how are they handling it?"
"Right now they're just observing of Heartless and sending out scouts now and then to watch their movements. So far, nothing. I've also told Moon and the others about the X-Blade and Kingdom Hearts."
"I see."
Asteria looked out her window at the moon.
"Glossaryck,"
"Hmm?"
"Once Star and the others have finished their training and are prepared to venture out to the other worlds… I'd like you to accompany them and watch out for them. Can you do this for me?"
"Of course. But may I ask what you will be doing in the meantime?" Glossaryck asked as she scarped the sides of the now empty pudding cup.
"I'll be traveling to Mewni. Something… something has begun to stir over there and I want to know what it is exactly."
"Hmm, very well then. While you do that, I'll make sure your pupils don't get lost during their journey to the unknown."
"Haha, thank you." Asteria said as she continued to gaze up at the night sky.
(The World that Never Was, The Castle that Never Was, Naught's Skyway)
Cinder stood with Mercury and Emerald talking with two of members of Xehanort's thirteen Darknesses. They both wore the black coat of the Organization and both had the same yellow eyes as proof that they carry a part of Xehanort within them.
The difference being that one had dirty-blond hair in an odd mullet-like style, and he had several individual bangs that fell over his youthful looking face.
The second person had long platinum blond hair with two slightly shorter bangs that framed his face.
These two were Demyx and Vexen, former members of the first Organization XIII lead by Xehanort's Nobody.
"Sigh, why did I get picked for this little field trip again?" Demyx said in disinterest.
"How about you stop acting like it's a life or death mission you're going on, music boy." Mercury says.
"And just how do you know it's not exactly that metal legs, hmm?"
"What'd you call me!"
"Silence! Both of you, now's not the time for you childish bickering." Vexen said with Mercury just rolling his eyes and Demyx sighing again in un-interest and looking away. "Now then Miss Cinder, I believe you call us here because you have knowledge of something that correlates to what we are searching for, correct?"
"Correct." Cinder says. "In fact, we may be fortune enough to also come across one of the new seven lights that we will require."
"Huh? But didn't lizard guy say that it looked like those kids you all met could be those seven lights?" Demyx asked Cinder.
"That relates to the Seven Guardians of light, I'm referring to the new Seven Princesses of Heart." Cinder explained.
"Ah yes, I see now." Vexen said understanding what Cinder was talking about. "Should these new guardians prove to be useless, it would only be natural to then utilize this generation's chosen Seven Princesses of Heart."
"Exactly." Cinder said confirming Vexen's guess. "Also as I understand, the power of songs is greatly utilized in this world. But only a select few can harness that power; which as we all know, songs are way one displays their feelings that reside in one's heart."
"So one with the strongest song will no doubt be the one with the strongest heart. Hence, we'll know who is our chosen light." Vexen said.
"Hmm, so a world where you fight using music and song, huh?" Demyx said thinking it over before Emerald spoke.
"You're not going to complain about this now? It's the simplest thing here you've been asked to do, a lot more than the bench warming you've been stuck with."
"Sheesh, cut me deep there will ya?" Demyx said. "Besides, I wasn't going to complain. I just didn't think there was a world out there that suits me best is all."
"This may be the only world that suits you, Demyx." Vexen said shaking his head before addressing Cinder. "So we are to depart to begin our search then?"
"Preciously." Cinder said as she snapped her fingers and a dark portal appeared behind her. "Shall we begin then?" she said, walking into the portal with Mercury and Emerald following behind her.
"That lady…." Demyx said, "scares me almost as much as the rest of this new Organization."
"Just come." Vexen said walking into the portal.
"Okay, okay I'm coming. Wait up!" Demyx said walking into the portal before it closed.
A/N: Another chapter done. Now based off of the hint that Cinder dropped, you can all guess which world we'll be going to first, Right? Now I'm thinking of separating each world into an arc for the story, so one world will be an arc of the story which will range from either 4-6 chapters each. let me know what you guys think of that approach.
Okay, See ya! ;)
