Author's Notes

Last Chapter we saw Chase and Roxie visit Relic Castle and see the mural depicting the Twin Heroes story then head to Nimbassa City.

Roxie and I entered Nimbassa City shortly after the sun had set. We noticed that the whole city seemed to be lit up in lights and full of stalls and attractions. I looked around confused. "What's… going on here?" I asked. Roxie turned to me, her eyes full of joy and happiness.

"It's the Nimbassa Carnival!" Roxie squealed in delight.

"Nim…bassa Carni val, what's that?" I asked confused. I felt like I'd heard that name before.

"It's an annual event in Nimbassa where the whole city becomes one big carnival. There's game stalls and food stalls and so much more, and at midnight they have fireworks," Roxie told me as she smiled widely before grabbing my hand, pulling me along causing me to stumble a little.

"Woah hey wait," I called out as I tried to regained my footing. She slowed down long enough for me to catch my footing. As she pulled me along I once again noticed just how soft her hands were. She dragged me along before stopping in front of a stall with ten bottles stacked up and balls to the side with a sign saying knock over 6 or more bottles and win a prize.

Roxie turned to me and asked "Can we try this one first?"

I nodded "Sure Roxie,". We made our way over to the stall and I asked "How many goes do we get per try?"

The stall clerk looked and me and responded "3 goes per try. Now if ya gonna that'll be 500 poké". We paid for our balls and stood in front of the boxes at the assigned spot. Roxie glanced over at the prizes. On the prize wall I could see various stuff dolls of different Pokémon as well as jewlerly. I could see Roxie was eying off one of the Skorupi dolls. I noticed that there was a necklace in the shape of a stylised metal leaf on a chain and I decided if I won that's the one I'd get. Roxie step up and threw her first ball and managed to knock over one bottle, she then threw her second ball and succeeded in knocking over three bottles.

"C'mon Rox, you got this this," I told her as she carefully lined up her final throw. She raised her back back and threw the ball. The ball hit the remaining bottles but unfortunately she was only able to knock over 1 bottle.

"Arcues dammit, !" Roxie cursed aloud then muttered "I really wanted that Skorupi doll". I laughed and stood in front of the bottles and waited for them to be restacked. Once they were restacked I threw my first ball and knocked over three bottles then threw my second ball and knocked over two. I stared at the bottles for a minute or so then threw the ball. It knocked the remaining bottles making then wobbling for a few seconds before one fell to the ground.

"YEEESSSSSS!' I cried happily.

I walked up to the stall clerk ready to claim the necklace I heard a little kid say sadly "Lee I really wanted that Charamander doll".

"I'm sorry Hop I tried my best and so did you but luck wasn't with us tonight," a male voice told the kid comfortingly. I turned around and saw two people who looked quite similar. They were both brown skinned with purple hair and yellow eyes. They were clearly related to each, brothers if I had to guess. The kid looked to be about 5 or 6 while the man looked to be about 20 or so.

I then took once last look at the necklace then looked at the stall clerk and asked "Can I have that Charmander doll?". The stall clerk nodded and took the doll off the prize wall and handed it to me. I then walked over to the kid, crouched in front of him and said with a smile "Here ya go kid, one Charmander doll".

The kid looked at in me in surprise, then tentatively took the doll and said with a small smile "Thank you so much mister".

"Yeah mate, thank you so much for that," the older man said.

"No problem," I told him with a smile as Roxie walked over to me.

"My name is Leon," the man introduced himself then pointed at the kid and continued "that is my little brother Hop,".

"Pleasure to meet you I'm Chase," I answered.

"I'm Roxie nice to meet ya" Roxie said, introducing herself

"Pleasure to meet you both," Leon told.

"Where are you from? You have a strange accent," Roxie asked curiously.

"We're from the Galar Region," Leon answered. Before I could ask where that was a woman's voice calling out to him. "Sorry that's our mum we gotta go. It was a pleasure meeting you," Leon said apologetically. He then turned and walk towards where the voice came from.

Hop walked up to gave me a hug and said with a smile "Thank you so much mister for the doll," then followed his brother.

"That was a nice thing you did for that kid Chase. I could see you really wanted that necklace," Roxie told me with a soft smile.

I nodded and responded "Listening to them reminded me of Cameron and his little sister,"

"How so?"

"Sometimes as kids the three of us would go to the store to buy ourselves a treat and they wouldn't always have enough to buy both Alice and Cameron's favorite lollies so I'd buy Alice hers and either go without any lollies or buy myself something cheap".

"You're a sweet guy Chase".

I just nodded but didn't say anything. As we turned to walk off the stall clerk called out "Hey kid wait a sec". I turned around and saw that he was holding the necklace I had been. "Here kid have it".

I blinked in surprise and ask "Really, why?

He nodded and answered "I saw what you did for that kid. You gave up the prize you wanted and got that kid the prize he wanted. Not many people would do what you did. So you can have the necklace. I saw you eying it before you asked for the doll".

I took the necklace, placed it around my neck and gratefully thanked him. As we walked off Roxie turned to me and told me "That necklace looks good on you Chase".

I blushed a little at the surprise comment and asked in surprise "Really?"
Roxie nodded "Yeah suits you". I just nodded not sure how to respond. We then walked off and wandered around the carnival attending the various rides and stalls for a couple of hours. As we wandered around Roxie suddenly stopped.

"Why'd you stop?" I asked her curiously.

Roxie pointed at something and said with glee "A karaoke bar. Let's go". She then grabbed me and dragged me inside without waiting for my response. Once we were inside we saw that that the stage was empty and they were asking for someone else to come on and sing so Roxie made her way onto the stage and picked the song. The music started to play and the first lyrics appeared on the screen. Roxie then started to sing.

Oh, well, imagine,

As I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,

And I can't help but to hear—

No, I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words,

"What a beautiful wedding! What a beautiful wedding," says a bridesmaid to the waiter,

"And, yes, but what a shame, what a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore."

I chime in with a

"Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"

No, it's much better to face these kinds of things

With a sense of poise and rationality.

I chime in,

"Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"

No, it's much better to face these kinds of things

With a sense of...

Oh, well, in fact,

Well, I'll look at it this way,

I mean technically our marriage is saved,

Well, this calls for a toast.

So, pour the champagne.

Oh, well, in fact,

Well, I'll look at it this way,

I mean technically our marriage is saved,

Well, this calls for a toast,

So, pour the champagne, pour the champagne!

With a sense of poise and rationality again

I chime in,

"Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"

No, it's much better to face these kinds of things

With a sense of poise and rationality.

I chime in,

"Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"

No, it's much better to face these kinds of things

With a sense of poise and rationality again...

I was in awe at how beautiful her singing voice was. I realised I hadn't noticed how it beautiful it was when I challenged her. Once she finished singing she came off the stage. She came and down of the stage grabbed and dragged me onto it. "You are singing Chase, now pick a song" she told me in a tone that brooked no argument. I scrolled through the songs til I found the I wanted and started to sing.

I can be the hero that you deserve

I can be the hero that you deserve

I can be the hero that you deserve

I can be the hero

Everybody fearing us

I am the hero you deserve

They call me mysterious

You should believe every word

Look at the way they stare at us

Everyone is waiting for my return

This world is dangerous

I am the hero you deserve

They want a hero

I'll give them everything they need

You can all count on me

I mean this truly

I'm so Mysterio

Every challenge, I succeed

And I am not a killer

But don't push me

Go

I am never losing

I'm just giving you illusions in the mind

Oh no

I am not a villain

I just make a little money on the side

Let go

I will come and save you

From the evil that is lurking in the night

Now the world can count on me

So call my name and you know I'll be on the way

Look at all the evil that's on this earth

I can be the hero that you deserve

I'm gonna work hard for the people

So when I'm on the job there's a reason that

Everybody fearing us

I am the hero you deserve

They call me mysterious

You should believe in every word

Look at the way they stare at us

Everyone is waiting for my return

This world is dangerous

I am the hero you deserve

Enemy forces

Crumble right inside my hands

Even if they're imaginary monsters

You should be cautious

I'm no ordinary man

I'll protect you from the evils

That try to harm us

So go

I am never losing

I'm just giving you illusions in the mind

Oh no

I am not a villain

I just make a little money on the side

Let go

I will come and save you

From the evil that is lurking in the night

Now the world can count on me

So call my name and you know I'll be on the way

Lemme take care of the bad guys

C'mon, you saw what happened to the last guy

You can trust me, I'm here to stay

All the super-villains better run away 'cause

Everybody fearing us

I am the hero you deserve

They call me mysterious

You should believe in every word

Look at the way they stare at us

Everyone is waiting for my return

This world is dangerous

I am the hero you deserve

One I had finished singing I noticed Roxie staring at me a curious look. "What?" I asked her in confusing.

"You have an amazing tenor voice Chase and I want to sing a duet with you now," She told me as she climbed up to join me on stage. She then grabbed a second microphone selected the song and started to sing once the music started up.

Baby, it seems we never ever agree

You like the movies and I like TV

She then looked at me and I started to sing,

I take things serious and you take 'em light

I go to bed early and You party all night

Then Roxie sang again,

Our friends are sayin' we ain't gonna last

'Cause youmove slowly and baby, I'm fast

You like it quiet and I love to shout

But when we get together, it just all works out

I then joined her and we sang in harmory,

I take two steps forward, I take two steps back

We come together 'cause opposites attract

And you know it ain't fiction, just a natural fact

We come together 'cause opposites attract

I then sang,

Who'd-a thought we could be lovers?

She makes the bed and I steal the covers

She likes it neat and I makes a mess

I take it easy, baby, I get obsessed

Roxie then sang,

I've got the money and he's always broke

I don't like cigarettes and he likes to smoke

Things in common? There just ain't a one!

But when we get together, we have nothin' but fun

I then joined Roxie again in singing,

I take two steps forward, I take two steps back

We come together 'cause opposites attract

And you know it ain't fiction, just a natural fact

We come together 'cause opposites attract

A two steps forward, a two steps back

We come together 'cause opposites attract

And you know it ain't fiction, just a natural fact

We come together 'cause opposites attract

You know it, baby, baby

We come together

We come together

Baby, ain't it somethin' how we lasted this long?

You and me provin' everyone wrong

Don't think we'll ever get our differences patched

Don't really matter 'cause we're perfectly matched

I take two steps forward, I take two steps back

We come together 'cause opposites attract

And you know it ain't fiction, just a natural fact

We come together 'cause opposites attract

A two steps forward, a two steps back

We come together 'cause opposites attract

And you know it ain't fiction, just a natural fact

We come together 'cause opposites attract

Two steps forward, two steps back

Two steps back

We come together 'cause opposites, opposites attract

It ain't fiction, you know it's a fact

It's a fact

We come together 'cause opposites, opposites

Two steps forward, two steps back

A two steps back

Opposites attract

We go together

We go together

Two steps forward, two steps back

A two steps back

After we finished singing everyone got up and gave us around of applause. I looked at them in surprised but bowed along with Roxie. We got off the stage and left the bar. "That was amazing Chase, I have never harmonised with anyone so well before," Roxie told me her face a glow with pleasure and joy. She looked really beautiful to me in that moment. I was about to say something when she said in surprise "Oh shit is that the time,". She then grabbed my hand and dragged me off running.

"Where the hell are you taking me this time?" I asked. She ignored me and kept dragging me and ten minutes later we arrived in the front of the ferris wheel. We got on it and it stopped with us at the top. "Why are we on the ferris…" I start to ask.

"Shut up or you'll miss it," Roxie told me. I was about to ask what when a loud bang drew my attention. I looked up and saw a flashes of colour in the sky. We both stare at them watching them with smiles on are faces. I noticed at one point during the fireworks display I felt Roxie slip her hand into mine, I wasn't sure why she did that but I wasn't going to complain. After the fireworks display was over and we got off the ferris wheel Roxie turned to me a big smile on her face. "I had so much fun Chase thank you," she told me joyfully.

I smiled back at her and said just as happily "Yeah same here Roxie". I then let out a loud yawn and said "Time to go find a place to sleep I think".

Roxie let out a yawn too, nodded then replied "Yeah lets get some sleep". We then made our way to the Pokémon Centre, booked a room, crawled into bed and fell asleep.

A/N

I hope you guys enjoyed that chapter. I had blast writing it. I'm didnt including the Rosa and the Subway Bosses battle because it was a little pointless and I had no losses in that battle and acquiring Join Avenue because I can't think of any way to fit it in. The songs that I used are I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! at the Disco, Hero You Deserve by Nerdout and Opposites Attract by Paula Abdul. I slightly changed the lyrics for Opposites attract to better suit the duet.

Also if you guys enjoy reading Nuzlocke Runs you should go check out maycontestdrew's Diamond Nuzlocke. Its called The Iron Knight: A Pokémon Diamond Nuzlocke. It's an awesome story set in a Medival Sinnoh and is very different to normal nuzlocke stories and I urge you to check it out if you haven't already.

As alway let me know what you thought by leaving a review.
