The Dark Heir

Chapter 12: The Dream

Lily, Bellatrix, and Andromeda were pondering on their course of action.

Lily's hidden past now was being put into question.

Even if Tom Riddle was her biological father, it didn't mean Lord Voldemort, the father of their children, was her father.

Lily knew deep down, the Dark Lord and father of her son was her father. Despite Bellatrix and Andromeda trying to reassure her of the facts.

She knew because Dumbledore has always kept an eye on her.

Lily thought back to when she first walked into the Great Hall during the sorting. When her name was called, Dumbledore had leaned forward in his chair sharply.

He didn't show what he was thinking, only that he seemed to be interested in her.

Lily knew incest caused mental illness and physical defects in children. She was thankful her son didn't have any symptoms that appeared.

She feared what would happen if she kept her bloodline pure with her son. Would she doom her son and herself and any potential children?

Lily knew the moment she went to meet her father, she became a slave to her blood. She couldn't refuse after she signs his contract, binding herself to him.

She was a slave at heart, and she would do anything to please her son. Even if he wanted her to burn the world.

Harry sits calmly at the Slytherin tables. James Potter and Neville Longbottom were seated with their groups of morons and laughing over something stupid they said.

"What's got them in a good mood?" said Harry.

"I imagine it has something to do with the fact that Longbottom has admitted he's pathetic," said Tonks.

"I bet Longbottom has publicly admitted he's gay and Potter's his boyfriend," said Delphi.

Almost everyone around the Slytherin table nearly snorts out their food upon hearing Delphi's word.

Delphi didn't mince her words, and she knew exactly how to be cruel.

"Are you guys returning home for the winter holidays?" said Draco.

"Yeah, even though it would be great to stay here at Hogwarts, I rather go home," said Harry.

Draco was also returning home.

His mother generally worried for him greatly.

Harry sits in the compartment car with Delphi and Tonks along with Artemis and Olivia Potter.

Artemis sent word to her mother, telling her she was heading to the Black Family Manor for the holidays. She was invited to join the Blacks.

Her mother was surprised but gratefully accepted.

Olivia Potter was given a winter paid vacation from an anonymous source, so she wouldn't be home for the winter holidays.

Meaning James Potter was heading back to the Longbottom's with Neville.

"Weasley may be a disgrace towards Wizards, but at least he's a pureblood," Neville said outside their compartment.

Ron Weasley, along with his older brothers, was staying behind at Hogwarts.

"If only he dressed better. When was the last time you had a Weasley watching your back?" said James.

Olivia tries to shrink in her seat to hide her presence from her older half-brother.

She has been abused by James for nearly half her life.

Thank Merlin, she was sorted into Ravenclaw and not Gryffindor. She didn't know how she would survive with James's looming over her all the time.

"The Weasley has fallen out of grace for years. Even still, he would be a worthy vassal to serve the cause under the right situation," said Neville.

"Merlin's beard! You don't plan to make Weasley a Lord, do you mate?" said James.

"Of course not!" snaps Neville.

"I'm merely saying that Weasley would be good to take some heat when we need him to."

"Awe, I see what you mean. Well, he is… desperate," said James.

"Indeed. Putting him in my debt is enough for him to do whatever we want him to do, don't you think?" said Neville.

James didn't say anything, but they knew from their experience with James Potter to know he had an evil grin.

"What's up with your slut of a sister?" said Neville.

Olivia shrinks deeper in her seat.

This was not the first time Neville and James insulted and degraded her.

"Blame Black! He's all over her. I warned her not to mess with him because she's a Potter, even if she's a half-blood one at that," said James.

"The bitch has poor tastes in wizards. Well, it's only a matter of time. We'll break her once again," said Neville.

"You aren't thinking of marrying my pathetic half-blood sister, are you?" James said in disgust.

"Of course not! Don't be stupid!" snaps Neville.

"No decent Wizard would even think to marry a half-blood whore like your sister. She's only good for serving wizards and nothing more."

The two walk off, complaining about Hogwarts and other people.

"Those two have a dark reception of reality," said Tonks.

"They are fools. Potter and Longbottom don't even have half the brains to match their bark," said Harry.

Harry looks down to see Olivia holding onto him.

"You can let go, Olive. Your stupid brother is gone," said Harry.

They said nothing and focused on exploding snap as they continue the journey to King's Cross Station.

Once they arrived, Tonks walks ahead to look for any sign of the Longbottom's.

Lily and Alice used to be close friends back in their Hogwarts days. Those times were gone as the two were now bitter with one another.

Alice Longbottom has a successful marriage. Her son is considered the Chosen One and one of England's most promising bachelors.

Lily Black is a 'widow' who raised her son with her cousins-in-law. Thanks to her son being the heir to Regulus Black, the last Heir to House Black, Lily lived the best life possible.

"It's okay," Tonks said back to the group.

"The Longbottom's are near the barrier, and our moms are waiting by the floo network with Mrs. Zabini."

The Black Witch.

Ms. Amalia Zabini is renowned for her legendary beauty. For having been married seven times and been widowed seven times. All her husbands have died mysterious deaths.

Ms. Zabini claimed it's an old family curse, and she feels she's doomed to be alone for eternity. According to her, if the husband's love is not worthy, then the family curse will kill him.

The Ministry of Magic has tried many times to prove she killed any of her husband's. Despite the lack of evidence to support, she murdered any of her husbands.

Every time one of her husbands died, Ms. Zabini became extremely wealthy.

Hence, she earned the name 'The Black Witch.'

Jumping down, the five of them walk up to their mothers, who were happy to see them.

Selena Wynter looks a bit uncomfortable being outside. In fact, her face shows she was a bit pale. Still, she was happy to see her daughter.

Lily hugs Harry as Bellatrix hugs Delphi, and Andromeda hugs Dora.

With a soft pop, they disappear.

Inside the Black Manor, Christmas had come a bit early as there were some levels of snow, but the family was enjoying themselves.

For Selena, Artemis and Olivia, it was easily the most enjoyable Christmas they've ever had.

Selena was able to enjoy Christmas with witches of her own age. After she gave birth to Artemis, she always got the cold shoulder.

Here, Lily, Bellatrix, and Andromeda spoke to her like a person and equal. Artemis was enjoying herself too with the girls and Harry.

The four mothers threw the blankets over their children on the conjured futon as they go into the lounge and drink some Burning Cocoa.

Selena was more than grateful as she hasn't had any friends in over ten years.

Selena found out that she had a lot in common with the Blacks than she originally thought.

For the first time in a long time, she had a genuine smile on her face.

Hogwarts – Forbidden Forest

Quirrell whimpers in the forbidden forest.

"Silence you fool," hissed Voldemort.

"Forgive me, Master," said Quirrell.

Voldemort had watched his heirs greatly from the moment they arrived at Hogwarts.

Weak in Occlumency, he only caught a glimpse of their life. Their mothers treated them well. But they weren't raising them correctly.

Voldemort thought of breaking his daughter once more, but no, he dismissed that theory altogether.

His son was now too old for his plans.

He would need to find another witch to fulfill his desire for immortality.

Thankful, he kept his presence hidden. The old fool Dumbledore still didn't know he had returned to the castle.

Snape was a problem.

Voldemort was unsure if he could trust his former Death Eater. Snape has indeed served him in the past, but it's been years. Loyalties can change.

Voldemort has lost his power to the Longbottom boy, and it made it hard to believe he lost to such a pathetic wizard. Did he have a hidden power he didn't know about?

Voldemort half wonders if he should reach out to his son to kill Albus Dumbledore.

No, it would be most unwise.

The old fool was watching his children closely.

Thankfully, Bellatrix was wise to not trust the old coot and her sister, and his daughter followed suit.

His daughter. Brilliant yet foolish.

She trusted him so quickly and so blindly without truly understanding his true nature.

Thankfully, since he took her sacred maiden, she was bound to him and would forever be his. Cursed to serve him till she was nothing but bones.

Even if she wanted to break free, she couldn't. For the Blood Bound Spell, kept her bind to him.

He should have done the same thing to Victoria, but he never thought she would turn on him. She has always been so loyal. Voldemort wonders what caused Victoria to turn on him and take away his daughter. Then again, he wanted a son.

The prophecy words still rang in his ears, of his downfall and defeat. Granted, he didn't know the complete words to the prophecy. He may have destroyed himself in his haste, but his goal to achieve immortality was nearly there.

Perhaps he should have Quirrell kill Neville Longbottom.

No.

The pleasure of killing Longbottom should be his and his alone.

That way, no one would ever again question his powers.

He would be patient. He has yet to see how his hand will be dealt out.

Grimmauld Place, London

Harry pauses as he dreams of himself in a forest.

Was it the Forbidden Forest?

A woman was running, and Harry was doing everything he can to catch up to her.

"Hadrian Black," said the voice from the forest.

"Who are you?" Harry calls out into the forest.

"Son of Riddle's, and Heir to Slytherin," said the woman's voice.

"Riddle? What riddle?" shouts Harry.

"Will you become the Guardian?" said the woman.

"What are you talking about? What Guardian?" said Harry.

"Always remember, from Light comes Darkness. From Darkness comes Light," said the woman.

The forest emits a flash of light, blinding Harry.

Harry wakes up startled by what had transpired.

Harry looks up to see his family all looking down at him.

"You were thrashing about in your sleep. You broke out in a cold sweat," said Delphi.

"I had a very strange dream," said Harry.

"What was it about?" asks Andromeda.

Harry explains about the strange woman in dark robes leading him through a pitch-black forest.

How she called him the Son of Riddles and spoke of being the next Guardian.

Harry's aunts were very silent as he explains his dream.

"What?" said Harry.

"There hasn't been a Guardian in the Wizarding World in nearly two hundred years," said Andromeda.

"There are many stories regarding a Guardian. The power they command. Merlin is perhaps the most famous Guardian in our history," said Lily.

"Merlin was a Guardian," said Harry.

"What's a Guardian?" asks Delphi.

"Guardians are witches and wizards who protect our world. They don't answer to anyone. At the same time, they are renowned for fighting the darkness," said Andromeda.

"There hasn't been one in over two hundred years," said Bellatrix.

"Which would explain the sudden rise of Dark Lords," said Lily.

"The lines of the guardians have been broken," said Bellatrix.

"Isn't Dumbledore a Guardian?" said Dora.

Andromeda shakes her head in response.

"No. as powerful as Dumbledore is, he's not a Guardian," said Andromeda.

"Get some sleep. It's unwise to let this consume our thoughts. We'll look more into this. For now, let's get some sleep," said Lily.

Everyone knew Lily was serious. They all went back to bed to sleep.

Lily conjures a bed and places Harry on the bed as she climbs under the cover and holds her son.

She and Harry drift off to sleep, letting themselves get lost in their dreams.
