Scott was of course concerned by Kayo's message asking them to all meet in the lounge for her to tell them something, and he met her in the hanger, she looked terrified and Scott wondered if Banino had hurt her? Without words, he cuddled her against his chest and kissed the top of her head as she rubbed her cheek against his shirt.
"Thanks for meeting me."
"What's the matter sweetheart, why do you need to talk to all of us?"
"There's something you should know about me, a family thing, not a personal thing regarding our relationship."
Scott nodded, "ok, tomorrow morning. Everyone is out at the moment, I'm the first home."
"Could you make me a tea please?"
"Sure thing, get freshened up, I'll be in the lounge waiting for you," he kissed her cheek and took the lift up as she went round to the corridor leading up to the bedrooms, or Scott's as she now shared soon after becoming his girlfriend. Kayo stood under the water and cried to herself just thankful the water was washing the tears away as soon as they came, how on Earth was she going to be able to tell them that the Hood was her uncle? What would it do to her relationship, and more importantly would they ever forgive her?
Scott put Kayo's tea down on the desk before sitting down on the piano stool, he began to play and waited for her, she heard the music and guessed Virgil had returned from a mission as it certainly sounded like him, she walked down to the lounge leaving her hair out of its usual ponytail and turned the corner to see Scott instead, she smiled lovingly and ran the rest of the way over to the instrument to wrap her arms around his neck before she sat down on the desk watching him.
"I was so worried about you, as soon as I saw those air mines I knew you needed help."
"I didn't need help sweetheart," Kayo smiled, "I showed you that."
Scott sighed, "I wasn't completely sure, but in the end I had my own rescue to deal with."
"Alright I'll level with you, there were some moments where I thought I wouldn't get away but I trust Shadow, and that helps."
"Don't scare me ok?" Scott smiled as he looked down at his hands.
"You let me go after Banino, and that's not like you."
"I trust you, but what happened to him?
Kayo froze and decided to lie, "well the repulser was missing but I was willing to let him offer me something, he would've killed me with that device if he had it. There wasn't much of a conversation, he got away."
"You let him?" Scott stopped playing.
"I don't let criminals get away, he had an escape plan I wasn't ready for," Kayo tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and Scott stood up from the piano stool, "I couldn't do anymore."
Scott leant against the desk beside her, "are you telling the truth?"
"Of course I am Scott, I wouldn't lie to you," Kayo looked up at him, her expression pained by his words, "you told me you trusted me?"
Scott nodded and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, "I do trust you, I just wasn't sure about the undercover stuff today, it's not what I'm used to."
"Nor me, but it needed to be done, I just wanted to make sure Penny and Parker were alright."
"I know, but Kayo?"
"Yeah?"
"Stay away from air mines, for me?"
Kayo laughed, "no problem, I was terrified for myself, I'm a good pilot but they caught me off guard, I might ask Alan for some extra training."
"Don't encourage Alan with aerial bomb fights, I just got him off guns."
"FAB," she laughed, "was your mission successful?"
"Yep, all the workers got out, but it was close, not an easy rescue that's for sure."
"We were both successful and that's what counts," she turned round to get the mug of tea, "thank you."
"I only hope this is successful," Scott bit his lip as Kayo tasted it, "so?"
"Scott, tea is tea, thank you," Kayo chuckled as he mockingly wiped his brow, "you're such a tease."
"And that's why you love me," Scott hopped off the desk back to the piano.
"No, I love you because what's not to love?" She walked over and sat down beside him resting her head on his arm, she smiled as he began to play again for her, but would he love her after she had told him about her uncle?
