Welcome.
It is now time for you to proceed.
"Good evening."
Bright fell off his chair in surprise before turning to the black-haired girl sitting on the windowsill.
"You are?" Bright said in confusion, then his eyes widened. "It's, it's you!"
"It seems that your memory isn't that bad." Light said as she got off the windowsill. "Let me
introduce myself. My name is Light, a Lightning Elementor."
"Light?" Bright said as multiple pieces of information flowed through his mind. "You're-!"
Light held up her hand to stop Bright from finishing his sentence. "Yes, I am. I am here only because there will be a very important event that will take place in your life soon. Probably the most important one since it affects almost everyone here in this world."
Bright looked at her in confusion. "Me? But what's so important about me?"
"It has something to do with the memories that you are unable to recall." Light said. "I know that you get flashbacks once in a while, but you still do not know the whole story."
"Wait, how do you know?" Bright asked in confusion.
"It's a long story." Light said. "But... I cannot tell you."
"Why not!?" Bright exclaimed.
Light made a gesture to Bright, signalling for him to keep his voice down. "This world does not allow me to tell you these things, otherwise I will suffer terrible consequences."
Light's gaze scanned across Bright's face, only seeing his face with an expression that showed utter confusion. She sighed before continuing.
"This world has a set storyline, one that can only be changed by the main characters and the supporting characters within. You are only allowed to know this because you are an exception, along with another few. But I am still only allowed to tell you some things about this world."
"A story line?" Bright said in confusion. "I do not really understand, but I will not ask."
Light nodded, pleased with Bright's response. "Some things are better left unknown, and you would need to learn that. You are one of the characters that have a hidden story line that can only be discovered by you. You are also one of the characters that can affect this world majorly. Your choices determine a lot of things, which is why I had told you to be careful with our first few encounters."
"... Thank you, for telling me these things." Bright said.
Light nodded in response and disappeared.
"Lione!"
Lione turned around, it was the 'Main Characters.'
"Fine, Rein! Did you two finish with your training already?" Lione asked.
Fine scratched the side of her head. "Well..."
Rein laughed awkwardly. "We're just here to ask if you wanted to come with us and ask Sun if we could leave and go and visit our parents."
Lione thought for a while. "Umm... Maybe after I finish with me training?"
The 'Main Characters' nodded enthusiastically. Lione looked around, then had an idea.
"How about we have a little competition Fine and Rein?"
"Sure! How about you Rein?" Fine asked.
"Actually, I agree! It'll be a good way to improve our abilities!"
"Alright!" Lione exclaimed. "Let's start then!"
The three of them both took a few steps back. Fine was the first to lunge and launch a fire attack, while Lione launched a fire attack at it. The two attacks clashed and left sparks as they dispersed. Rein then threw two wind blades at Lione and Fine. The two of them both created a barrier that looked like a flame. Lione launched a fireball at Rein, then summoned a fire blade before rushing up to Fine and slashed at her. Fine summoned a fire blade to block off all of Lione's attacks, throwing a few fire attacks in Rein direction in the process. Rein managed to dodge the attacks and blocked off a few with an air barrier. Of course, she had to do it multiple times, since she was at an unfair disadvantage with her Element, which was countered by both Lione and Fine.
Fine and Lione continued to slash at one another, blocking off any air attacks that Rein launched at them, or throwing a fireball or a fire attack to counter it. The competition went on for minutes, before concluding in a draw.
The three of them were out of breath when they were done. They all collapsed down onto the floor, sweating, then sat up. They looked at one another, before starting to laugh. While they were laughing, Sun came into the room, she looked around the room, then at the three of them, wondering what it was that made those three so happy.
"Sun!" Fine said happily, a little out of breath.
"Hello you three." Sun said, smiling. "What made you three so happy today?"
"Oh." Lione said. "We had a little competition."
"Oh? Who won?" Sun asked, curious.
"It was a draw, Sun." Rein replied. "We didn't really have a winner since it was the three of us all competing."
"Yep!" Fine exclaimed. "And plus, the majority of the whole competition was Lione and I slashing at each other with fire blades while throwing fire attacks at Rein."
"And it was scary watching all those fire attacks coming in my direction!" Rein said, hitting Fine playfully at the side of the head. "I had to activate my barrier multiple times!"
Fine held her head, pretending to be hurt. "Ow Rein! Why did you do that!"
Rein rolled her eyes. "I literally just said the reason, and besides, I didn't hit you that hard~"
"Yes you did!" Fine exclaimed.
Sun laughed at the twins' interactions.
Suddenly Gale appeared in the room.
"Sun. Did you tell them the news?" she asked.
Sun shook her head.
Gale turned to the "Main Characters" and Lione.
"We have found some... disturbing news." Gale started. "Therefore, I have decided along with a few others to come clean about the reason why we have decided to train you three."
"Gale-"
"Sun. We must tell them this." Gale said, she turned back to the "Main Characters" and Lione. "Listen carefully. We have chosen you three, not because we suddenly felt like taking apprentices. But because it is something we must do."
Gale paused for a moment for the three girls to take in the information before continuing. "There is a prophecy. And the prophecy is about... well... Rein and Fine."
"Ehhh!?" The 'Main Characters' exclaimed in surprise.
Gale nodded. "Two identical girls born from light. At first we thought it was about the Akiro family, but it wasn't. Then we found out that Hikari meant Light, and you two happened to be born not much later. And it added up. Our duty, is to train you to be strong enough to fight off what is to come."
"What... do you mean?" Rein asked.
"You two actually had a chance of escaping the fate to fight off the... "thing" that was from the prophecy. But someone else, someone who knows the prophecy is determined to make it come true. They brought in the ghouls into this world, things that don't belong to this world."
"But... what do I have to do with this then?" Lione asked.
"You, along with a few others, are supposed to aid Fine and Rein to fulfil the prophecy. But of course, this doesn't mean you will be involved in the final act."
Lione nodded in response.
"All of you must get stronger, at least reaching the 7th stage. 8th stage would be desirable, but not expected."
"What do we have to do?" Fine asked.
"To begin." Gale said. "It would be best for you three to witness those ghouls mentioned earlier."
Sorry guys, I became extremely inactive over the past years. I will try my best to finish this story and 'My Identities' as soon as I possibly can. The chapters will also be longer to finish the story with less chapters. Thank you to all who are still reading this even after so long!
