Chapter 25: Things Have Changed
(Note: Takes place immediately after the events of 'Furthering the Ricked Tales', to recap those events: Summer's leaving with her fiancée, Dymmi is in prison with Mange and Dabi, new worlds merged into the Zen Kuro, Jillian of the Outsiders is dead thanks to Gendo, Lana of the Outsiders is in prison, Meg's miscarried, and Kenji's in a spiral going down.)

Within the base of the Metsu Marauders far out of sight to most warpers in the Cloud Kingdom, Kurogiri and the others had seen the news. Their leader, Dymmi, and two of their cohorts were arrested being shipped off to a warper prison. Now they would have staged a rescue, but the trial had completed placing all three in prison for three months.
"So, what exactly are we going to do for three months? Wait for her to get out?" Mr. Compress asked Kurogiri.
"Yes, because considering it's her first offense that she's actually gotten arrested for…they are going easy. So, we keep the operations going for now until she returns." Kurogiri said firmly. "And we add this Merch person to our 'Do Not Engage' list."
"Agreed. I hate to say this about our boss, but from his profile say…threatening him was not a good idea. He's considered a pretty bg neutral…and we're on his shit list." Twice said looking over the computer data.
"As long as he can't find us, we'll be fine." Kurogiri said with a sigh. "On another note, did anyone find out what happened to Toga?"
"Well, I found her twitter profile. Bitch is one of the Ghetto Ninja." Mustard said showing her in ninja wear.
"Wasn't she going to America for the-You know what? Never mind, we have bigger problems." Kurogiri remarked before turning Twice. "We need to ensure the recuirtment of Raze. So, we'll find him and when our boss gets out, she wouldn't be too beaten up about things."

"Thanks for taking the time to shoot the shit with me." Kenji said looking over at his brother.
He and Ryder were sitting up at the barn overlooking Neo Bayview in the distance. It had been some time since the brothers had actually just hung out. Kenji found it telling that distance living on the same planet that they did not spend much time together.
"Yeah, I needed to time with my brother." Ryker remarked. "So, how's your wife doing?"
"She's recovered, but she's taken the loss of the baby hard." Kenji said bitterly. "But we can try again soon enough."
"If you're still having money troubles, I can help you out." Ryker offered.
Kenji looked away. He wanted to deny it because he did not just want to hang out with his brother for handouts. He was better than that.
"Before you say anything, I'm doing this because you're my little brother. Plus, you and I both know family's important to back up. You had it rough." Ryker said as Kenji faced him.
"Only enough to fix up the Black Warpspark and for groceries." Kenji remarked getting up. "I need to get back into business. Hunt for new treasures and put a bullet through Gendo's head."
"Gendo Ikari?" Ryker asked.
"Yes, the very same. Remember Desmond? He gave his Gendo the boot from the world they were in. Four eyed bastard has his own team now according to Rick and Merch. They don't have much information because the ass is in hiding. Only shred of detail I got is that he's in league with Abby. You know, the Joel killer?" Kenji remarked.
"Ok, I don't even want to know how he convinced her to work with him. That alone would paint a big ass target on your back. The number of warpers just killing Abby for 'revenge' are high…right behind the number of those enslaving versions of her." Ryker said shaking his head. "Probably for hatefucking, because that design she has is awful."
"Seconded." Kenji said with a chuckle.
"Kenji!"
The two looked up to see Meg had flown onto the roof.
"Hey. You back at 100%?" Kenji asked concerned.
"I assure you. I'm back. I actually just came from seeing my nephew and my sister-in law." Meg said flipping her hair off her shoulder. "I also wanted to check up on you. I know it's been rough."
"Don't worry, I'm good. We're the Outsiders, and we don't fall easily. My brother's agreed to help us out and get the Black Warpspark up to working order." Kenji mused as Meg perked up.
"Good, then we can finally get out of living in Vice." Meg said crossing her arms. "Because I know you want to do things on your own, we can't keep living in that dumpster fire. Bounty hunters keep trying to break in."
"What the hell? Why didn't you tell me your living situation?" Ryker asked getting up.
Kenji did not answer, and Ryker decided to put efforts to getting the ship repaired today.
As those three left, Steven was standing at the shores of beach in thought. Within all that had happened and what he went through, he felt a bit at peace with himself. Watching his canon self give him a bit of relief that Ryker came into his life before any of that could happen. He did not have to struggle in being a Diamond, he could be himself free of the chains. His power at his fingertips. He felt a warm hand on his shoulder as he turned to see Connie looking at with a weary smile.
"You were just standing out there, you all right?" Connie asked.
"Yeah, I feel great. I'm looking forward to going back to school." Steven said with a grin. "Last year of school is upon us. To think it's been two years."
"It has?" Connie said with a raised eyebrow. "Man, where has the time gone?"
"By the way, did your mother ever finished medicial school?" Steven asked as they walked off the shore.
"She did, but she's not on planet. She took up a job being a team medic. Probably should have told you sooner." Connie mused.
"She tell you who she's working for?" Steven asked.
"No, she hasn't. When she calls, she's pretty vague about it. Whoever it is she's working for, hired her on the express deal of not mentioning who he is to anyone. From what little she tells me, he's a bit pretentious but well-paying." Connie remarked. "I miss her, but I'm glad to have the place all to myself. So, want to come over and take a load off…or five?"
[Cues: Nightmares On Wax - On It Maestro]
Steven gave her a devious smirk racing off after her. Over at the Shadows household, the Fusion Force, sans the younger members and Marie, were holding a bit of a meeting.
"I have some bad news. Really bad news…my powers as an oracle have soon me a possibility of Fusion Monsters possibility returning to the land." Saki said as the forks clattered on the table.
"You can't be serious." Kevin said dryly.
"I am. I don't think it will be to the servity of the first time, but we need to ensure old infected areas do not have a chance to be reinfected." Saki said firmly.
"And we'll need to be getting a move on it. Fusion Matter on the planet still hasn't been completely wiped out. Aside from those in labs being studied, there are still infected zones." Mandy said pulling up a map. "Right now, in the main area of the Core, there are only four areas still infected. The Sweet Revenge in Candy Cove, The Boneyard in Eternal Meadows, Tyrannical Gardens in Galaxy Gardens, and Reactor Works at the local Nuclear Plant. As for outside in the Wilds, most of the infected zones remain save for Leaky Lake."
"What about the Darklands?" Frankie asked.
"Blown up to hell. If there's one thing, I'll give Madam President credit for was ensuring that place could never be used again. They shot up the place and even got Ryker to erase that place…as if it never existed. I don't even know why they don't just have him erase the others." Mandy remarked.
"I know why. Stablization. Ryker, on top the other warpers, have to be careful how we mold the planet. Doesn't help that other worlds are merging into this universe." Gwen said with sigh. "So, tell me you have a plan."
"From what I can see, whatever is happening is going to go down in September. I just don't know where or who is going to be the source." Saki said concerned.
"Maybe we could call Ma…" Kevin said as Saki cut him off saying, "Absolutely not. She called home and told me what was going down. Apparently, she got a serious upgrade to her Omnitrix and she doesn't want to tip off the Plumbers. Polymorphic Crystal."
Kevin whistled.
"Ok, they would definitely want answers for that. How did you two make that Omnitrix for her anyway?" Kevin asked.
"As a template, a combo of the modern Omnitrix and Albedo's recreated Ultimatrix. Which explains why the crystal worked in the first place. Until the excess energy from it dies down, she needs to keep away. At least she can he-" Saki said before freezing in place.
[Cues: Dragon Ball GT Transformation OST – Tense Cut Scene]
Sweat came down his head as his eyes flickered for a split second only hearing him breathe much to the concern of his friends and wife.
"Saki, easy. Easy." Mandy said trying to calm his down.
"I…see it. Gendo Ikari. He's in league with the person trying to reinvade the planet with Fusion Monsters." Saki stammered.
"Who? Dimensio? That little shit jester?" Kevin asked franatically.
[Cues: Naruto OST – Bad Situation]
"No. But I think whoever's doing this is going to pin it on him and Dymmi. Wait, it's…getting clear. Damn it!" Saki said in complete panic.
"But what can you see?" Frankie said.
"That's whoever's doing is going to pull a Spinel. Dimensio is once again tampering with what should be dead!" Saki said infuriated. "The daft bastard apparently brought Shadlyn and Jigoku of the Zangyaku Ten into metallic shells along with that vampire psycho, Yuu. What if he brough El…oh no."
"You don't think…." Frankie said as the other shook with a bit of fear.
"I think he has. And what makes it screwed up is that those metallic things they became, their shells of a brain-dead warper. They just lash out acting like a shadow of what they once were. And of course, the idiot uses the Turbon Mecha Sonic basis which in itself a power-hungry lover of destruction and carnage. It's only a matter of time before they turn on Dimentio."
"Which means we need to prepare for the inevitable." Mandy said seriously.
"You'd need to upgrade your Omnitricies as well, maybe even get some major weapons for those who just have energy attacks." Annabelle said finally breaking her silence.
"Morbucks, what are you getting at?" Gwen asked.
"Something risky. I have an idea, it's dangerous…but it could work. We can hire a team to get us the needed parts, and I know exactly who to hire. Kenji Blackthorn. Why? He's in fianical straits, and he'd gladly take a dangerous job for a big payday. Even with his fallings, he's still leagues above most fighters. All we have to do is play to his ego and desparation." Annabelle mused.
"Ok, so I'm not going to begin to go into how scummy that is. Even though he's a tenth rank warper with little that could stop him, I don't think playing on his desperation is a good thing." Saki said glaring.
"But Saki, his desperation will be the perfect motivator not to fail us. Because the way I see it, he could very well achieve the goal. I proprose we send the Outsiders on a mission to retrieve the Ultimatrix from Albedo and the Trixes from those alternative Bens that Prime Ben fought at the end of Omniverse. No one's going to miss them if we kill them. We can even use the lingering universes considering thanks to Ryker leaving those universes without a prime one thanks to this alagamation." Annabelle said firmly and shrewdly.
"That's actually a good idea. Those worlds would be close to unstable anyway. The 23rd Dimension, The Mad World Dimension, and so on. Gwen, did Ben ever even get to have that adventure?" Saki asked.
"No, he didn't. At least not the clash with the other Bens." Gwen said looking thoughtful. "So, those universes are ripe for the taking…but I still don't like the idea of axing off different versions of my cousin. Even if they're practically assholes."
"Not like we have a choice and besides, most of them have it coming anyway." Kevin spouted.
"He's right. We need the tech. Considering they're not warpers, we really don't have to deal with a moral quandry. So, we're doing this?" Mandy asked.
Begurdingly, they all agreed. Annabelle volunteered to make the call.

[Skies over Vice, Hours Later]
Kenji and his Outsiders were celebrating the Black Warpspark being back in the air with a pizza party for lunch.
"To my brother, saving our skins." Kenji said raising a glass.
"Cheers!" Meg, Brian, and Stewie said as they clinked glasses.
"Wait, Brian? Shouldn't you send out your Pokémon to let them in on this?" Stewie said raising an eyebrow.
Brian sent them out. His Lopunny, Lois; his Jynx, Theresa; and his Gardevoir, Vera. The moment was a bit awkward considering Vera and Lois wore dog collars with Mega Stones in them. Theresa wore an Expert Belt around her waist. Stewie discretly activating a new feature on the ship he had planned.
"Daddy." Lois swooned.
Brian nearly choked on his food as he heard English and not Pokémon speak. Stewie promptly revealed he built a translator for them while they were on the ship.
"Stewie, why the hell would you do that?" Kenji asked.
"He's been banging them acting like he's the stud. I just wanted to ask if that was true or was he faking?" Stewie said with a snarky grin.
"Wait, I thought Lana was joking about the Poképhilla!" Kenji said cringing.
Before Theresa could speak, Brian shoved a slice down her mouth. Vera simply took one for herself as Kenji's eye twitched.
"Hey, don't judge me, it's not weird." Brian said trying to defend himself.
"Dude, it's weird." Kenji said as Lois sat on Brian's lap. "And as your leader, I'm ordering you to have them used in battle. No if, and, or but. Understood?"
Brian sighed and accepted right as the phone rang. Not anyone's personal phone, but the ship's main one. Kenji pulled it on the tv screen noticing it was a video call from an unknown number. Kenji cracked open a soda before answering it to see Princess Morbucks.
[Cues: Teaching Feeling OST – Ivory Fiber]
"Princess Morbucks?" Kenji asked raising an eyebrow. "Now what does a blue-blooded girl want with the likes of us?"
"Just call me Annabelle. Look, I need your group for a job." Annabelle said as the group were all attentive. "Well, now I have your attention."
Annabelle explained the situation on what needed to be done and the list of items to acquire.
"Ok, so you want us to go to five sub-prime dimensions to retrieve the Omnitricies. Obtain two Polymorphic Crystals and two copies of Albedo's Ultramatricies. Also revisit one of the reboot universes to get the reboot version of the Omnitrix." Kenji parroted.
"While we don't need all of those Omnitricies, we need all the universes destroyed. I only request that the Gweniverse Omntrix, the Hero Watch, Bad Ben's Omnitrix, the Reboot Omnitrix, the two Ultimatricies, the Crystals, and the Antitrix are secured for me. As for the rest, you can have them. Just ensure the universes are wiped out." Annabelle said as Kenji had a grin on his face. "As for how much you get paid, 400 grand for each item."
"That's nearly 4 mil…in cash." Brian stuttered.
"This is a high-risk job. Because those universes technically would be connected to this one. You've been risking it big time if you were caught. Thankfully, no one in those universes are warpers. The only risk is the Paradox of our world here getting wise. I and my assoicates can keep him unaware, but you'd have limited time. I'd say you'd have less than a week." Annabelle said.
The group looked at each other and made their decision. They accepted the job. Of course, they had to get the needed supplies.

[Merch's Private Island off the coast of Orchid Bay, Late at Night]
"Chaos in the streets as a fight in Undertown led to streets on fire, gravel torn up, and multiple cops dead. Vice police have stated that apparently the fight was started the Outsiders and The Metsu Maruaders. The fight was from residents could tell us over supplies stored by Argit, who was recently imprisoned for attempted murder and illegal bounty hunting. No arrests have been made as both parties fled police. And considering it's Vice, they're not going to get caught."
"So, Kenji? Back on your feet and you're causing trouble?" Merch asked getting off the couch. "Jeez, at least not make it obvious."
"What do you think he's up to now?" Beth asked.
"Personally, I don't know, but if I were a betting man. It possibly has something to do with with the woman who just called me asking for means to keep a famous timewalker who catching on to a plan." Merch said with a smirk. "Beth, get up…we got a delivery to make."

[Unknown Universe, In space]
"Mister Ikari, I can confirm that Kenji and his stupid friends are leaving the universe."
Gendo Ikari turned to his navigator, Mai, and smirked quite smugly. Him leaving was a good thing as he had better chances to take him on without his family backing him up. He called for a team meeting with the entire team. Gendo had put out an ad to get people to work for him…and all he had to show for it was Mai from the Dragon Ball Evolution universe and Abby from a Last of Us 2 that burned Jackson to the ground. Honestly, he did not like he took the pair. Mai was still as incompetent as her original counterpart and Abby was a raging psychopath who got access to Bane's Venom to abuse (not to like mention that working with an Abby is going to put a big target on his back). Of course, there was no members he did not fully rely on.
"Oi, boss. I got those PM-1 Energy Rifles, ready."
Out came Butters Stotch. It had seemed that his father was not completely crazy and the Butters he ragged about…did exist. Butters, he realized, was a talented weapon maker who hid from his father to protect himself. He had only come to the likes of Gendo out of a monetary reason as was the team's medic…Priyanka. Much to his ire, he knew those two were temporarily members at best. Priyanka clearly did not like anyone other than Butters, and Butters just was not evil enough. More of a neutral than anyone. The only two competent fighters with their heads screwed on right were not even those who would fight for him. He needed minions.
"Butters, thank you for your services." Gendo said kindly to him before turning to Mai. "Set a course to go after Kenji. Priyanka, I need you to adjust Abby's Venom so it doesn't cause brain damage."
"What are you talking about? I'm fine." Abby said.
"Abby, we had to flee a bar because you roided out!" Gendo snapped.
"Actually, if Abby wants to increase her strength, she could go for cybernetics…but I can't get her those. And even if I could, I'd have to purge all that Venom shit out of her system. So, you're going to have to make a few stops before getting to Kenji." Priyanka said firmly as Gendo smashed his fist on the arm of his chair.
"Damn it!" Gendo said as the communicator rang.
He saw it was Isabelle and he calmed down. Isabelle was the one saving grace of it all. She had run his base of operations which was an Animal Crossing universe where he was mayor. Surprisingly, he ran the town well with his only issue is the underground casino there and him banging Isabelle on a regular basis.
"Isabelle, do you any good news for me?" Gendo asked.
"Well Mr. Mayor, your casino's profit margins are in. I wanted to ask for your input in consideration to obtaining more strippers." Isabelle said as Abby perked a smile having some ideas.
"Well then, Mai. Set a course for home…I need to deal with this." Gendo remarked as Mai turned the ship around.
(A/N: This was a long chapter, but I needed to get it done to explain so much. I may not go for a miniseries of Kenji killing all the Bens, but a one shot of Kenji offing Bad Ben, Nega Ben, and Mad Ben? Maybe. And I revealed what happened to Gendo because I pictured him with the most dysfunctional crew possible. And don't worry, I do plan for Butters and Priyanka to jump ship soon enough. With this chapter taking place at the end of July, the next one skips ahead to August. See you all next time!)
