Chapter 32: Fresh Horror After Halloween (Part 3)
[Eternal Vistas/Eternal Meadows, The Suburbs, The Core]
Craig Williams was all for the fight to aid the world through the KND. However, he hated to admit that they were outgunned this time. They had infiltrated the Infected Zone…only to discover that to their horror…the cult was cultivating Fusion Monsters. Saki had acknowledged them as Spinetinglers and Cylomanders. Saki had wisely decided to pull out to call for backup. As the five were on the warp portal to get out of the Infected Zone, they were spotted.
Now, the five were running from a hail of bullets. Saki decided it was best to flee seeing it was more important to the enemy that they die before getting out of here.
"Guys, I think we're in deep." Craig said as a bullet whizzed by his head.
"I'd say we should fight, but it's more important we escape to warn everyone. Eternal Vistas is in serious danger, and we need to get out of range of their signal dampener." Saki said briefly returning fire. "Much to my relief, none of the Aku sisters are there to make this worse."
"But there's still a risk they can show up." Jessica said using a spell to freeze a mook. "I think it's only the five that saw us are going after us."
"Well, then." Craig said turning around to firing his S.P.I.C.E.R. getting one in the face. "Now it's just three."
"Two!" J.P. said blasting one with an energy blast.
Saki activated his Omnitrix before using his XLR8 transformation appearing similar to the Ben 10,000 version with with the colors of black and purple for the outfit and his eyes being purple. With the helmet coming down showing a purple visor, he grabbed the kids being racing off but not before whomping the last two into the dirt. He was a mere blur that left a trail. He zipped straight a place he knew had no Infected Zones, Morbucks Towers. Annabelle was in the midst of a meeting with Dexter, Mandark, and Computress when Saki barreled into the meeting room before returning his human form.
"What in blaz-Oh, you must be Saki? I was told plenty about you. It's an honor to have meet you, seeing you fought with a counterpart of myself and Computress." Dexter said helping Saki up.
"A pleasure. Sorry for not confronting you sooner man, but I had my issues to deal with. Besides, we have a huge problem. The cult's active and they got a whole army of Fusion Monsters they're cooking up as foot soldiers in the Boneyard!" Saki exclaimed.
"What?!" Annabelle said in a panic. "Why come here then?"
"Panic and the fact I may have shot." Saki said before noticing a wound on his shoulder and several on his back. "Son of a bitch. They ruined my coat. At least the armor lessened the damage…but considering these were plasma rounds…and I used the Omnitrix while injured…I'll go into shock now."
THUMP! Saki fell down.
"Medic." Saki weakly said.
"Shall I proceed to give medicial care?" Computeress asked.
"Yes." Dexter said as the android moved to aid in helping Saki recover.
"So, this is the famed hero of the Fusion Wars. I'm not impressed." Mandark said rolling his eyes only to be grabbed by the tie by Annabelle who glared at him.
"Saki happens to be famed for a damn good reason and a hardened veteran. As am I, and I'm reconsidering handing contracting my company to you to do business." Annabelle said shoving Mandark away. "And you can see yourself out!"
"But..."
He did not get a chance as Annabelle put her Omnitrix to use transforming into a shapely yet ripped Appoplexian wearing fitting wrestling attire.
"LET YOU TELL YOU SOMETHING, MANDARK!" Annabelle said grabbing Mandark by the throat and whispering, "Yeetus your assus out of my building."
Mandark was flown back to his building via the Annabelle Airline, one way, and through a window before Annabelle returned to her normal form to check on Saki.
"He's stable." Computress said to everyone's relief. "But I'll have to take him to DexLabs for observation."
"I don't consent to having my DNA used for cloning…" Saki said before passing out.
Immediately, Craig called KND command as Saki was hauled off. Dexter was relived to get the contract and inwardly grateful to Saki. Annabelle called the rest of Fusion Force.
"You four have completed your mission." Annabelle said to Sector CH. "Was Saki supposed to pay you?"
"I think he was." J.P. said as Annabelle got her checkbook. "Unless KND command pays us. We're sort of a new team to this."
"Regardless, I want to thank you for aiding Saki and that he's safe. Who's your sector leader?" Annabelle said as Craig spoke up. "Right, here's a check for 30,000 Taros. My way of thanks."
Craig was handed the check as Sector CH walked out of the building looking stunned.
"We just made some serious money." Craig said looking down at the check before pocketing it.
"One problem…how do we get back to Sector V?" J.P. asked as Craig realized they were in unfamiliar areas in the Core.
"I'm calling for a pickup." Kelsey said getting her phone out.
While she got had gotten KND Command, the sector got new orders. With several KND agents out aiding in storming the Boneyard in the Meadows, Sector CH had asked to secure Offworld Plaza. Craig promptly called Connie. He got her, but she was not available to come.
"Doctor's appointment. I got my gyno exam to deal with…I shouldn't even be on the phone. But I can get someone to back you up. Someone of Saki's should be coming to get you." Connie said before hanging up.
So, the Sector stayed put.

Speeding through streets in a dark pink Hellcat, Mandy's face had a look of worry. As she was on her way to DexLabs to check on her husband, the carphone rang to which she answered.
"This better be good." Mandy snarled.
"I know you're worried about him, but we got another team. Saki was leading a team of KND agents. Ones my protégé was training. They need backup, and I need you get from Morbucks Tower." Ryker remarked. "They are new to the Core."
"Damn it, I don't have time for that…I…" Mandy said.
"I know, but Saki's stable. He'll be fine…and right now, he'd want you to focus on the mission. We need things secured pronto. I'm on my way to aid in the Boneyard. Connie's trusting you to handle the sector." Ryker said before hanging up.
"Saki, you better not die on me." Mandy muttered before turning the car around for Morbucks Towers.
She pulled up right as Annabelle was leaving.
"Mandy? I thought you were going to check on your husband." Annabelle said as Mandy sighed.
"I have to deal with the runts that he was…" Mandy said as Jessica cleared her throat. "Don't just stand there. Get in."
Sector CH piled in as Mandy turned back to Annabelle asking her to stay with Saki to which Annabelle nodded before taking off for DexLabs.
"You're Saki's wife? But you don't like anything from the photo at the gravestone?" J.P. said as Kelsey smacked him. "Oh…"
"That woman at the gravestone was his first wife, May. She was killed after the Fusion Wars…right at the start of hell that was Frost Rule. Saki and I…came together right at the end." Mandy said tersely before speeding away. "And try not to pry!"
"Sorry about my teammate!" Craig squeaked. "But we are a bit curious. That redhead woman called herself and Saki a veteran. I am a bit curious myself about the Fusion Wars."
"Look, we're on a time crunch and personally I don't feel like giving a long history lesson…you'll get the short version. Me, Saki, and few others were caught up in an invasion by some alien prick named Fuse. We fought him, we won, and then we were invaded again….a bunch of people died. It all went to hell, then the world was destroyed and rebuilted. With those few people from the original world being the remnants of it." Mandy said while driving.
"That's really sad. All what you fought for…just being gone like that." Jessica said as Mandy pulled up to a parking space in Offworld Plaza. "And we're here?"
"I assume they want you posted at the Immigration Center." Mandy said cutting off the engine. "Come on."

Guard duty was safe and all, but it was boring as Craig sat in the lobby trying to look intimidating only to fail because he was bored. Mandy was on the phone, J.P. was punching a vending machine, Kelsey was cleaning her sword, and Jessica was reading.
"Ugh, guard duty. Nothing's even happ-" Craig thought before a loud crash was heard from outside. "Never mind…"
Staff, Sector CH, and Mandy rushed out to see it was a ship that crash-landed. Weapons drawn, Mandy and Craig took the lead.
"Let me see your hands!" Craig ordered as the ship's door opened.
"Don't shoot! I'm one of yours!" Fenix said coming out with his hands raised. "I got refugees."
Weapons lowered, the staffers moved to escort everyone off the crashed ship and into a room for medical check-ups. Once given the okay, Mandy and the Sector got to the room to interrogate them.
"You said you were one of them." Mandy said glaring at him.
"I'm promised you're working with the Kids Next Door, Mandy. I thought Fusion Force was not working with Government." Fenix said snarkily only to be slapped. "What the hell?"
"Your name, dipshit." Mandy snarled.
"Fenix Dacquoise LaNico." Fenix said before producing an ID. "Numbuh 4286 of the TND."
"You're a Teen Spy?!" Abigail and Cree said surprised.
"And soon on my way to working for the CIA. You may want to take a closer look at the ID." Fenix said as the refugees only for their jaws to drop.
The Kids Next Door were a government organization…or at least they worked with the government. Nigel Uno was sputtering in shock.
"Can we get an explanation for the crash?" Craig asked.
"Yes. I was in a deep cover mission in a Kids Next Door universe to deal with information gathering, to obtain a sample of Benedict Uno's powers, and steal as much of the legendary fourth flavor as I could." Fenix rattled. "But I hit a snag. Vampires attacked the universe forcing me to flee. I end up discovering their leader is that mecha vampire in the news."
"You were a spy the whole time. So much makes sense." Nigel said. "What teen willingly volunteers to help kids with homework?"
"Um…those who want to help kids? Because I wasn't doing all that stuff to spy…it's what I normally do as I'm a 'Big Brother' of sorts in the KND." Fenix said before turning to Mandy. "I've already explained the Warper's Secret to them, so they can go ahead and register…but I think Kuki and Wally are going to be…"
"Put through the wringer to see the young alternate counterparts of their dead friends." Mandy said blunty as the kids looked hurt to hear. "Yeah, you can handle that land mine. We're going back to duty."
Mandy and Sector CH had left as Fenix addressed Cree.
"Cree, don't think I faked liking your company. I did. I didn't have to get into a relationship with you for the mission, that just happened." Fenix said gently. "I really do like you…but I did have to try to curb your attempts to harm your sister and her friends. Big Brother Instinct, you know."
"I get it." Cree said quietly. "It's just what happens to us now."
"Well, you can resettle on this planet and universe. I'd be willing you some space at my place." Fenix offered only to get whacked.
"And you're going to also offer me the same courtesy, right?" Lydia said as Fenix growled.
After the refugees get registered and their IDs with the warm welcome, Fenix was finally let in on what was going on.
"Well, I return home and there is a cult starting some shit. Some year 2020 is." Fenix muttered.
"2020? But it's not…oh right, different universe." Hoagie said correcting himself. "How bad we talking?"
"The year has a roller coaster of crap." Fenix said bluntly. "And my ship's totaled because of that asshole Yu getting one parting shot. And my armored van is totaled as well…at least that's insured."
"So, what do we even do now?" Fanny asked.
"Thankfully, I left a mode of transport behind in the parking lot. I'll go get it…you guys wait for me." Fenix said walking into the parking lot.
Rachel had started up a bit of conversation with Craig wanting some information on the layout of things before Nigel returned to her teammates. It was also still weird for them to adjust to the look and feel of the universe and how it affected their looks. Hoagie was certainly eyeballing up both Abigail and Cree.
"I talked to that kid, and the KND really is a government thing. The Supreme Leader? Works alongside the President." Rachel said surprised herself.
"Numbuh 5 justs want to know how and why." Abigail said perplexed.
"I think I get it. Having the superspy kids on your side would give the advantage of having potential candidates for police, firefighters, spies, and the like." Cree reasoned as Fenix pulled up in a van.
As the group got in and Fenix began to drive, he explained a bit about the world of Zen-Kuro and how it came to be. And then came something that was a bit more personal.
"Abigail, you always said that was something familiar about me and you're right. You've tangled with an alternative version of my father…Stickybeard." Fenix said as jaws dropped.
"That explains a lot." Abigail said as Hoagie was shaking his head in disbelief.
"As for mother, well…she's not from your universe or this one. And she's…psycho as hell." Fenix said with a sigh. "I owe her for the pink lock in my hair and the monstrous strength with height to boot."
"So where are we going exactly?" Lydia asked.
"Like I said, my place." Fenix explained.
"What about Stickybun?" Abigail asked.
"My mother tried to eat his soul." Fenix said darkly. "No, I'm not joking. She ate souls as her power of sorts. Like you, I was a refugee right out the planet's forming. Stickybun was a reality warper…and he passed on the secret before she succeeded. And don't feel sorry for him, he used me as a bargaining chip to get with her pirate crew."
Cree gave him a look of support.
"The only real benefit I got was being born into a screwed up family. We're heading to Orchid Bay. I don't exactly have a house per say…I actually own a pirate ship." Fenix said sheepish.
"As long as there is candy, Numbuh 5 doesn't care." Abigail said with a grin as Fenix parked as they arrived in Orchid Bay.
"Yeah well, my crew is a mixed bag of people from here and other universes. I was mostly a drifting space pirate captain until…Zen-Kuro." Fenix said as they got out.
Upon the docks, he introduced them to the ship, the Retro Revival, which was a rather big ship. The jolly roger was of a phoenix sinking its claws into a skull. The figurehead of the ship was a phoenix giving the ship an eastern feel.
"It's just in it's seaship mode. Only reason I didn't take it with me because they'd blow my…" Fenix said.
"Hey! It's the Captain!"
A Candy Pirate made his way with dramatic flair. He had the look for it only coming off a pretty boy with his pale skin, green eyes, and brown hair under a red bandana. He had the typical Candy Pirate look, but the shorts were not tattered and his boots were shined.
"Captain Fenix."
"Sugarnose." Fenix said as said pirate produce Fenix's captain hat. "Thank you."
A quick explanation had Sugarnose call for the ship to be opened up for the guests to be let in.
"Let me introduce the crew. Sugarnose and Little Miss Marshmellow are the remnants of what was left of my father's old crew. As for my mother's side of the family, let me introduce my older half-sisters. Amandee and Galette." Fenix said as his half-sisters stepped.
Amandee was a rather tall, very slim, and extremely pale woman with long, light blue hair that is curled at the end. She has large lips, sullen light green eyes, and a small, almost flat nose. Her unusually long neck made that the kids had to look up at her face. She wore a pair of hooped earrings, a light red ress with vertical stripes, a red sash around her waist, and a red scarf around her neck. Amandee also wore a black pirate's greatcoat outlined in silver that was on unbuttoned and draped over the shoulders with sleeves hanging loose. Fenix had his own coat similar to that befitting that he was the captain. His own was also jet black but outlined in gold. He did wear it the same way as her, however. Galette appeared of a more normal average size, with pale skin and shoulder-length fuchsia hair, which curls at the ends. She has yellow eyes and notably thick eyelashes. She wears a red-violet dress, a dark purple feather coat, and magenta gloves.
"Wait, what's a half-sister?" Tommy asked.
"Basically, those two share my mom, but not my dad. I had a ton of them and half-brothers." Fenix said sadly as Fanny bravely asked how many. "I was the kid number 42."
"Out of 86." Galette spoke before wiping a tear. "Well 85 with the loss of one."
"86 kids?! What is she…a robot shitting out brat after brat?!" Lydia said in disbelief.
"No, the real story is worse. And the family dynamic is so bad that as soon as I got the Warper's Secret, I made plans to flee. And I did…but not alone. Amandee did not want me to go alone and Galette jumped ship with me after our mother killed our brother on a rampage…eating him in the process." Fenix said as the other crewmates. "And here are the others also from that same universe: Silk, Shuraiya, Adelle, and Biera. We nine made up the Red Phoenix Pirates."

"So, where's the candy?" Abigail said as Cree facepalmed.
"I…actually second that notion." Fanny said as Tommy nodded.
"Well, then! Let's set up a party for our captain's return from a successful mission!" Sugarnose said as he got cheers.
Fenix introduced his new friends to his crew and then his girlfriend. The party was rager, but Cree did see that his half-sisters are glaring daggers at her.
(A/N: To explain Fenix, he's the 42nd child basically born within in-between a gap year at a One Piece universe. He's about 17 currently and had left the Charlotte Family at about 15. His backstory I'll be going into soon enough…because we're going to be getting a new wildcard soon enough. I will at least explain who the other OP character. Silk's the proto-Nami from the Romance Dawn pilot of One Piece while Shuraiya, Adelle, and Biera were from the fourth One Piece movie.)
