A/N: Hello hello! While in the middle of writing my next chapter for My Name...Is Zero I had a few spare fledgling plots running around in my brain that were getting in the way. I can't produce a good chapter with my head filled with new fic ideas so of course I come here to write them all down. As said before this is just to clear my head, I'm keeping my focus to a solid 9 fics only (believe me, this is a super small number compared to normal) and I'm doing my best to stay on time with my chapter releases. I'm not sure when this segment will come out, as I never know when I'm going to have eight coherent more than two scene ideas to write out, but either way if it comes out late or early I want to wish you all a very happy COVID induced November! Go out or stay inside and spend time with close friends and or family? What are some of your traditions for the Autumn season you're still going to do? In my house, we make cider with the apples from our tree, lots of warm feel-good drinks, and desserts to keep us out of the oncoming cold. Stay cozy and I hope you enjoy the new plots! Also! Real quick please read the following: I now have a Discord server where you can chat with me, see my updates, check-in with how things are going, and see some fanart, OC art, stuff I do for other fandoms, and the like. If you're interested I would love to see you there, you can either search the name Let's Talk Vampire Knight or follow this link: htpp:/ / discord. gg /VmM5mxrA72 much love to everyone who joins, and please enjoy the next segment! ~Len

Number 77: Untitled [this is going to be a teacher Zero fic, a bit more family-centric, Kaname and Yuki are together but that is currently the only pairing (and who knows if it'll stay that way wink wink) that is established. I will be focusing more on their child (not cannon, this is my OC) Kuran Ryu in the beginning]

Kuran Yuki looked over her son, pity evident in her eyes as he stood with his head bowed ready to receive a lecture from his father. He was trying, he was trying so hard to learn how to control his powers but no one seemed to be able to teach him successfully. Their best nobles even attempted to step in and help but each of them had come away unknowing what to do next. Kuran Kaname, Yuki's older brother, and husband, the king of vampires that was supposed to be raising a successful heir was getting frustrated with the lack of success. Of course, he still loved his son, but he was beginning to wonder if it was going to be possible for him to rule over the community when he didn't get anything right. He was smart, he studied hard, he was a natural pureblood with the aura and emotional mask to match. But unlike the rest of the males in the Kuran bloodline, Kuran Ryu was unable to control an ounce of his power. It wasn't as though he was powerless, he did have abilities, but that was as far as his success went with magic. Kaname was starting to give up hope and it was clearly affecting the child's normally collected nature. He would argue more, he actively skipped training sessions, and once he even yelled at his mother for allowing him to be born. Yuki didn't know what to do, she herself wasn't the best at controlling her powers and wondered if that was partially to blame, having only been unsealed as a pureblood for a few years certainly didn't make learning any easier. She wasn't helpless but she was nowhere near what she knew she should be. Something she had long accepted, growing up human for all of her childhood and largely into her teens was a setback she would not recover from. A fate she didn't want her child to go through. "I believe it's time we start looking at other options, I have gotten back in contact with Cross Kaien, he has re-opened the night class dorm for us and will allow us to stay as long as we need to in order to have a safer place to train and get your education. We leave in two days, you will attend classes, you will continue to practice, and you will be on a strict routine until you are deemed capable enough for us to return to the estate." Kaname eventually spoke, tiredness evident in his tone but Yuki knew better than to comment. Her brother could be irritable at times, he had been quite a lot lately if she thought about it more deeply. There wasn't anything she could do about it, her brother's word was law and she was not privy to attempt to change that or his mind once it was set. "Go pack your things." the order was direct, Yuki watched as Ryu bit his lip, he wanted to protest but knew better than to do so should he receive a slap or two. Bowing he said nothing before quickly leaving the study to do as he was told. Yuki too eventually bowed, knowing the order was not just aimed at her son, before leaving to pack for the journey to Cross Academy. A place she had tried to forget about for the last few years ut ultimately never could. A particular image of angry lilac-amethyst eyes came to her mind as she shuffled through many articles of clothing. Finding an old dress she forgot to get rid of, her hand brushed against a metal charm that had been imbedded near the collar per her request. The charm was a small replica of the Hunter's Seal, one that was given to her when she first started high school with him living together and working as the school's perfects. The memories almost brought a smile to her face until they turned sour, flashes of Hio Shizuka, the attack by her uncle, the wounds left on the community, on that snow-like complexion of his. She didn't even know if he was still alive, refusing to contact Cross for the longest time, even now she wasn't sure she could handle seeing him, but they were going back. It was decided.

Number 78: Untitled (an OC heavy one, I haven't really decided if I want them to be paired with Zero or if I want it to be more like a brotherly fic between the two with some other pairings, on the side? I don't know, might need help with that one. Trigger warning, there will be detailed scenes dealing with anorexia and other mental illnesses so if you are sensitive to that please be cautious. This fic is not to glorify those topics either just full disclosure. Age reference, my OC is sixteen and Zero is eighteen)

"I need...need you here. Please, come home." the shaky tone was enough to get an immediate affirmative before he hung up. He was trying to breathe like normal like he was always told to do but it was difficult. His chest constricting, making it difficult to get any air in his lungs. He counted the seconds, ten...nine...eight...seven...six. Before he could get to five the door flew open, the silver blur he recognized helping him sit up as a mask and oxygen tank materialized seemingly out of thin air and was placed against his face as he was told to breathe. A cold cloth was laid on his head after his hair was brushed aside calming the burn and dulling the fever-induced haze.

"Sorry, I was gone for too long, breath for a little longer then I'll get you some medication okay?" he nodded, a bit numbly but it didn't really matter, he felt safe now. When the mask was finally removed again he felt a sharp but quick pain go into his arm, an IV he assumed from the cold feeling. "I'll take you off it when it runs out, but for now just try to get some rest." Zero explained, hardly aware of the nobles that surrounded the area, he wasn't a doctor but he knew well the inner workings of a hospital and wasn't afraid to use that knowledge on or off the field if it called for it. Yuka happened to be one of those people that needed it more often than not and Zero was glad he could help out in more serious situations as well as the minor ones.

"Stay...with me...?" it was asked, pleaded even, Zero's magic was a stabilizer and he could heal with it. Just being around him made Yuka feel so much better, which was why he clung to the silverette as much as he did and he was grateful that Zero not only allowed but encouraged it at times.

"I will, I just need to set up some things first. And night class, you can leave or stay if you want, we should be fine from here on out." he briefly addressed the vampires but truly didn't care about what they thought. Yuka was his sole focus. The far too thin boy wrapped in enough bandages to be considered an out of season mummy became Zero's world soon after they met. Zero knew the signs of illness well before Yuka acknowledged them and though he would never force the younger to do anything he didn't want to Zero was aware that it was only going to get worse. Unsurprisingly it did, he watched from a distance as Yuka went through middle school into starting high school until, eventually, he couldn't just watch and approached the smaller teen directly. Yuka had been attached to him ever since and Zero vowed he would help him get better provided the younger listen to what he said and understood the circumstances. The relationship that formed between them wasn't planned but he wasn't about to stop it, this was someone that needed help, he needed Zero and Zero was slowly understanding that he needed Yuka too in order to heal himself of some long-lasting wounds both physical and emotional. As the silverette rounded the corner from the kitchen once more, two cups of tea in his hands, Yuka shifted into an upright position to allow the other to sit behind him. Leaning back into Zero's chest made his eyes flutter, the older's magic reacting to his own, vibrating against his body allowing it to feel so much better than normal.

"I'm sorry." he all but mumbled out, he felt bad for dragging Zero back to him every time it seemed like he could be fine on his own. Zero never complained but it was embarrassing to have to call him like a child needing their parent. He was sixteen but it often felt like he was five.

"Don't be, you can't control it." came the expected response, reminding him that they were in this process together. Skilled hands ran a gentle brush through periwinkle-blue hair, the cloth was changed without the silverette ever leaving his position, and bubbles of tea floated from one of the cups directly into Yuka's mouth every few minutes with a flick of Zero's wrist. He wasn't a master of magic for nothing. The attention and calm that filled Yuka's body had him asleep in no time against the older hunter, an expression of painless comfort on his lips as Zero covered them with a blanket, his arm secured protectively around the smaller boy's waist to ensure he wouldn't fall off the couch even if he rolled over in his slumber.

Number 79: Songbird (a little bit different than my other fics on here, this so far is pretty much only fluff romance with maybe some comedy here and there, I don't know if it will stay that way but that is what I'm labeling it for now. Also, this is a ZeroxSayori fic but that relationship is going to take a while to fully develop and isn't seen in this segment)

It had been an aggravating evening, to be polite, between Cross and his idiocy, the day class and their screaming, Yuki and her "I love Kaname" rambling...Kaname, he didn't even want to get started on the damn vampires. Aido was bad enough on his own, Ruka was basically a posh female version of the loudmouth and he wanted nothing to do with either of them for the rest of the fucking year. 'Why the hell do I bother staying here,' although not as suicidal as he once had been there was still the potential option to just...leave. Leave the academy, leave the association, leave town, hell he could ditch the damn continent if he really wanted to. He had the money, he had the potential, if nothing else his glare could probably get him the next flight out of the nearest airport. So why didn't he take it? The thud from his head hitting the back of the bathroom door was hardly registered, did he have some sort of unhealthy attachment to torturing himself? Because that's all he felt he had been doing for the last six or seven years of his life. "One more year...just one more year then I'm out. I can leave for good." his tone was that of finality but he felt a stab of guilt at the idea of leaving Cross behind. He would never see the man as a full father figure but he couldn't deny Cross had done far more than he needed to even if not everything panned out in their favor. The ex-hunter deserved at least some credit for what he put up with. Sighing once more he stood and splashed water on his face in an attempt to relieve some of the tension in his body, it sort of worked, he needed to get some classwork done while he could before he was bombarded by Yuki for another long day.

Number 80: Eucalyptus (sick!fic also for the Zero/Yori established pairing because I was on a roll with these once upon a time, I also happened to be sick a little while back not with COVID thankfully but it wasn't fun regardless and any sickness right now you kind of feel like you're headed to your deathbed but I was well taken care of and this is the result of some of that)

"You're sure you're going to be alright? I can skip for the evening. Crossover is finished and Yuki can handle patrols well enough on her own..." Sayori sighed, visibly rolling her eyes but couldn't help but to smile at her boyfriend's worry. She opened her mouth to answer but ended up in a coughing fit before she could get a word out past the burning pain in her throat. Breath ragged as it came out far too heated, the movement of her lungs struggling made her head throb even more. She would deny the pitiful whimper that followed once she was able to calm down. A glass of water handed to her immediately after as she sat up against the mountain of three pillows so she wouldn't choke.

"I'll be fine, it's not as bad as it looks...or sounds...I promise," Zero raised en eyebrow, clearly not believing a word she said, her light brown hair usually fluffed with a hint of waves was matted flat with sweat knotting in some areas from tossing fitfully while trying to sleep. She wasn't sure how she caught something, it was practically summer and no one she had interacted with had been sick as far as she knew. Trying to remember made her head hurt more, another moan of pain had Zero placing a tablet and a small cup of wintergreen liquid in her clammy hand.

"Take that, I'll be right back," he ordered but it was gentle, he was always gentle with Sayori. A welcome change from the hard exterior she saw when he was directing fan girls but she didn't mind the facade. As long as she got to see the soft side of her partner she didn't care what the other girls said. Most of them were just jealous anyway. She giggled, maybe it was because of the medicine she had been taking but any remotely amusing thing made her burst out laughing. Deciding to take the tablet before the overprotective (Ichiru was right about one thing) silverette came back her lips puckered a bit at the water. The sour taste of lemon and ginger broke through even sickness-dulled tastebuds. It was welcoming in comparison to the other liquid she had to take afterward, the daunting green assaulted every fiber of her body as she choked it down. Quickly drinking the rest of the lemon water to get rid of an aftertaste that would make steel shrivel. Zero was kind but he also knew how to cure sickness quickly and some of the methods were less than pleasant.

"Bleh," attempting to get the taste off her tongue as said boyfriend walked back into the room. She shot him a half-glare for not giving her a warning but he brushed it off, he knew it was going to be helpful so he didn't mind taking some heat for it. Sayori laid back down as a new cold cloth was placed on her forehead, the soft whirr of something she didn't recognize sounded in he clogged ears as a pungent scent filled her nose. It was strong, aggressive even, but not necessarily bad. An analogy that would also work to describe Zero. It brought a mist that felt clean and cool against her skin. "What is that?" becoming too sleepy to open her eyes and search for the mechanic she just let it wash over her body, fill her lungs, as though being detoxed but in a good way.

"Eucalyptus," was all she heard, a brush went through some of the knots in her hair, he was careful not to pull or hurt her. Even if she begged him to help Yuki on patrol tonight he likely wouldn't, the vampires and day class fans could have a night off, he had a far more important single person to take care of.

Number 81: Morphine (following the kinda sick theme from above, this one is a hospital AU no vampires featuring doctor Zero, I haven't definitely decided on any pairings as of right now and I'm starting out with a section from Zero's childhood)

"We have another one! Incoming for ICU, whoever's available call them down to room three while we try to get his vitals stable!" the rush of words wasn't fully comprehensible but he knew it wasn't good. Were they talking about him? He couldn't really tell. The intense pain he had woken up from was gone, he hadn't noticed when he started to feel so fuzzy. Where were his parents? Where was Ichiru? Was everyone okay? Questions streamed in and out of his mind as his vision continued to waver to and form focus. He didn't feel bad but he knew something wasn't right, he couldn't hold a solid thought nor could he talk in anything more than slurs and mumbles.

Number 82: Price of Magic (really on a roll this evening with the hospital/sick fics, I'm not sure what it is but I got a thing for them right now, another one for the vault only this one is within the VK universe aaaand I don't have pairings set yet but I think it will either be a Zero x Takuma or a Kaname x Zero. Don't quote me though. Ichiru might also play a role or make an appearance every now and then but I'm not sure yet)

Cross sighed, his age suddenly weighing on him as he was eventually coaxed out of Zero's room. "You can come back as soon as you've rested some, you know he won't be pleased if he learns you've been here for the last two and a half days without eating more than mini muffins and coffee," the man that had been called to remove him from the hospital gruffed. Yagari Touga wasn't someone most people would consider kind or comforting but he had always provided Cross with a shoulder to lean on when the world was getting to be too much. "He's been through this before and he will pull through just fine, we'll just keep an eye on his activity for a little bit after he recovers." Touga continued, able to pull out a miserable nod from the blond ex-hunter as they two walked down the hall. Cross felt numb, like he wasn't even moving on his own, there was a possibility he wasn't. His magic propelling his body forward out of pure survival instinct and practice from when he needed it out on the battlefield against the bloodthirsty lost causes of the vampire race. Magic provided them with the ability to fight, the ability to heal, and kept them all alive and safe.

'All except one,' the bitter thought left him feeling sick, Kiryu Zero was the exception to that rule. His magic ability by all accounts was phenomenal, coined a master of weapons and magic by the time he was seventeen. But his magic had a cost, a deadly price that he would need to pay for the rest of his life assuming he would make it to even half of a normal hunter's lifespan. He had been dealing with it since he was five or six and was accustomed to the signs, even as he called Cross from the floor of his kitchen after having collapsed, blood spilling from his mouth and body shaking uncontrollably, he was still calmer than any normal being would be. Even as he was dying, alone somewhere in a secluded area of campus, he never seemed overly worried. But Cross was, he was supposed to take care of Zero ever since the young hunter fell into his custody following the brutal murder of his parents. Most of the time he felt it wasn't too difficult, Zero was eight by the time he came into Cross' home and though his mental stability was questionable at best he was far more equipped to living on his own than the elder expected. Zero never asked him for help, he never begged, he rarely complained, he rarely talked, and he never allowed Cross to pity him. He was a strong child that grew into a very strong-willed teenager, sometimes for the worse as Zero had also become very stubborn. But right now he was helpless, the one time he needed Cross was the time the ex-hunter could do nothing but watch over his unconscious body and make sure he kept breathing. It was pathetic.

"Are you going to tell them?" Touga questioned eventually, pulling Cross back to reality as the car pulled up to the academy gates. He thought for a moment he should venture to the moon dorms, Zero was a resident there as of last year and Kuran Kaname was technically supposed to get any and all information about the silverette if something happened. But Zero had told him previously he had no wish for the pureblood to know, it was best to leave him out of something he couldn't do anything about, and for once Kaien couldn't bring himself to go behind his foster son's back even if he thought it was for the better. He had caused the boy enough trouble.

"No, not at this time, it's not my place."

Number 83: Know Your Limits (the last of the sick fics, for now, this one is a Kaname X Zero pairing in the normal VK universe and I'm anticipating it will be quite short. More of a fluff romance probably not a real one-shot since I'm actually incapable of doing that but let's say 2-4 chapters? Featuring an overly protective Kaname and an equally stubborn Zero)

"Stop looking at me like I'm going to fucking keel over..." Kaname bit his lip, looking away from the open doorway of his bathroom where Zero was holding the counter in order to stop his arm from shaking as he brushed his teeth. They both knew he was sick, too sick to be doing anything but sleeping and drinking tea or soup in Kaname's eyes, but the hunter had rejected his pleas to stay in the dorms with him four times already before threatening to charm him out of the room.

"You're sick." vampires didn't get sick unless they were weakened for a prolonged period of time, Kaname had never been sick nor had anyone in his inner circle he didn't think, to his former knowledge he didn't think hunters got sick either. Zero informed they generally don't but seeing as he was an ex-human and a cursed hunter due to him being a twin things were a bit more complicated than that when it came to his medical record. He was much stronger than Ichiru, but he was more susceptible than a full hunter at times, he blamed it on the sun and heat weakening his body since he only ever seemed to get sick in the summer or early spring.

"I can take care of myself." he snipped in response, it was true, he had done so for years before Kaname was around and he would continue to do so with or without the pureblood there. He knew his limits but he also knew he could push them a little here and there in order to make things easier on himself in the future. Kaname sighed audibly, worry bubbling again when he heard the teen go into a coughing fit, Zero's entire body shook from the violence his lungs were inducing making him seem much smaller and much weaker than Kaname initially thought. Should they be going to a hospital? Or at least the infirmary for something like this? That's what normal humans did he was pretty sure.

Number 84: Untitled (so this one is going to be a little different, a pairing option I haven't focused on ever but I thought it would be interesting to do a bit of love triangle maybe a threesome thing between Zero, Sayori, and Aido? Not sure how this one is going to turn out yet but we shall see. Labeling it as a short fic for now)

Lilac mixed with amber-brown for the fourth time that week, Zero was used to being around Wakaba Sayori, she was Yuki's best friend over the last three or four years. A sweet quiet girl that knew what she was talking about and didn't cause much trouble which he appreciated greatly in comparison to the excessive squealing of the other girls in his class. He sometimes wondered if there was more to that girl than she let on, but truthfully it was none of his business and he really couldn't judge anyone for keeping secrets. But lately, she became intriguing and a little odd for some reason he couldn't put a finger on, deciding to hang around more with them at lunch and sometimes even staying up to wait for them to get done with patrols. Normally he would chalk it up to just being a good friend to Yuki, but this was different, Yuki had been sick for the past two days leaving Zero to handle their duties on his own. He didn't mind, truly things almost went smoother that way since the girls didn't argue with him as they did Yuki. He was tired by the time he was done, the night class had a few hours left in class but he was sure no one of the day class was out wandering by the time ten pm rolled around. 'Well, almost no one.' he corrected, eyes trained on the shorter girl as he walked toward the sun dorms and Cross home to finish homework and rest for the evening. Sayori never ventured much past the gates but she was definitely waiting there, no longer dressed in the school uniform she opted for a short-sleeved shirt and jeaned shorts. They never really spoke to each other, Yuki was the conversation holder for the most part as she rarely shut up, so he wasn't sure what he was supposed to say to her once they got within an appropriate conversation distance.

"Are you done for the night?" quiet but not unsteady, Sayori spoke with pure question in her tone, she held no hidden agenda which again was a welcome change to the silverette.

"Yes, did you want to come and see Yuki?" figuring this was probably why she was here, he was a bit surprised when Sayori looked a little hesitant to answer.

"Yes, but, I was also wondering if you would like some tea...and dinner? I know you both generally get off late but without Yuki around your patrols last longer than normal. Correct me if I'm wrong but I doubt you've eaten since lunch."

A/N: I almost feel like this In-Progress series is a little overwhelming, I mean I know it's only ten chapters but still 84 fictions just on the vampire knight fandom makes me sound a bit crazy no? I'm going to be busy for the rest of my life trying to get all this done and fleshed out XD oh well, that's what I do and I'm not one to back down from a challenge. But honestly, this is how much I love/hate VK as a series, I feel like parts were done so well and I love the characters but there is so much I would have changed and not just making it gayer, but more detail in the association, more abilities for the hunters, more linear plot lines and subplots, in a way it makes creating for this fandom too easy to do because there were so many things just kinda left off or oddly written. No hate to the original author of course, as I said I do love this series, but now I'm realizing I love it for what I can do with a world and some characters already built for me. More often than not I ignore the cannon facts because I find them boring, I will make sure things are still in character for the most part but the world of hunter/vampire is one that can be played with so play and manipulate to my heart's content I shall. That was a lot of rambling, as usual, please tell me what you think, do you love em? Hate em? Don't care because you've read 84 of these now? I always look forward to your comments. Stay warm and cozy out there, and remember to keep writing, keep reading, and live creative! Until Next Time! ~Len
