So Moody set to work casting the Imperious curse on the students, teaching them to resist it. Most ended up doing silly things like dancing on one foot or singing silly songs. Malfoy sang a particularly embarrassing song under the curse's influence.
Malfoy: "Harry Potter is so great! To this class, he's never late! Unlike me who is so weak! I now must dance just like a freak!"
Harry: "We're never going to let him forget this, are we."
Ron: "Never."
Then Moody tried in on Harry.
Moody: "You will sing a song about how great Draco is."
Harry: "Go suck a lemon!"
Moody: "Good Man!"
But after that, everyone was excited. It was time for the selection of champions for the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
…
The goblet spit out one name from the goblet of fire each. For Hogwarts it was Cedric Diggory, the handsome boy from Hufflepuff. From Durmstrang it was Victor Krum himself, the famous Quidditch seeker. For Beaubatons it was Fleur Delacour, an astonishingly beautiful girl whom every boy couldn't help but stare at.
Everyone, that is, except Harry. He was staring at Cho Chang, the Ravenclaw seeker who he'd spontaneously developed a crush on.
"I almost wish I could put my name in," said Harry. "For a chance to impress…someone. Oh well. I suppose I'm lucky I'm not old enough to be chosen. Probably dodged a dangerous spell there."
"Harry!" said Ron. "What are you doing?! You might jinx it!"
Dumbledore: "Oh! What's this? A fourth name form the Goblet of Fire? With Harry Potter's name on it? Would you look at that! I guess he is going to face the life-threatening trials with the rest of them!"
"Too late," said Hermione, shaking her head as she watched Dumbledore.
"Seriously Harry," said Ron, also looking at Dumbledore show off the paper. "Why couldn't you just keep your mouth shut…wait, where'd he go?"
Harry had disappeared from his scene. Coincidently the door to the great hall just slammed shut. Outside Harry was running as fast as he could.
Harry: "Not again! Not another life-threatening crisis! There's no threat to the school, so why should there be a threat to me!?"
Meanwhile, back in the great hall…
Dumbledore: "Sigh…running from his responsibilities. Oh well."
And Dumbledore waved his wand, saying, "Accio Harry!"
Silence, then crashing could be heard outside, and the sound of something scraping across the floor. Harry was pulled through the great hall hanging on to one of the iron benches that could be seen at various places in the castle. As Dumbledore's spell pulled him back Harry, his legs lifted as if being pulled by a rope, pulled the bench across the floor between the great hall's tables.
Finally, Harry came to a stop at Dumbledore's feet and he fell to the ground. Irritated, Harry looked up.
Harry: "Do I have to?"
Dumbledore nodded, and Harry groaned.
