Disowned

Akira was running as fast as he could down the alley, which he usually takes as a short-cut to school, and made it to the subway in record time because of his months going to the gym. He then get off the train and quickly runs through the area that was closed off because of the cleaning months before. So, Akira was able to make it to the Shibuya Station through the Ginza Line without even going outside. And once he gets out of the train, he starts running from Shibuya station to the street where the café was at. And when he makes it to the end of the street, he speeds walks to the Café since there was still people out.

Futaba was waiting outside for him but when she sees him with an angry look on his face, it instantly made her worry; "Did something happen between you and Ann?" "That can't be! You two love each other!"

He ignores her then goes right through the Café door and sees Sojiro standing behind the counter looking at a calling card making him smirk; "Oh? Did you finally find out that I'm a phantom thief?" "What did I say about doing or saying something stupid!?"

Futaba walks in right after him and sees Sojiro holding the calling card as well making her gasp in horror.

Sojiro keeps his voice even though he was getting angrier from how smug he was sounding; "I had my suspicions. So how long have you been a phantom thief, Akira?"

He just kept on smirking; "Since I got here. Is that a problem?"

Sojiro slams the card down unable to control his anger and snaps; "Stop sounding so goddamn smug! You've been doing this for months now and been hiding it from me! I'm supposed to be keeping you out of trouble but all you've been doing is jumping straight into it!"

Akira snaps as well; "Don't you dare lecture me about hiding things! When you've been hiding about my disownment probably before I even got on the train here!"

Futaba gasps and looks at Sojiro; "Akira's parents…disowned him…?" Necro starts sobbing; "That's so sad!"

"Futaba go home, this is between me and Akira." Sojiro tells her sternly.

"B-But…" "L-Let's just go Futaba-chan." Futaba hesitantly leaves but she stays by the side of the door outside.

After Futaba leaves, Sojiro sighs; "So Ann told you. Yeah your parents told me not to tell you but now I can see why they did disown you." He glares at him; "You're just a troublemaker who doesn't care about the other people that could be hurt from you sticking your noses in other people's business! I found this in Futaba's room so you must've gotten Futaba involved in it as well! What if she gets hurt!? Can you even live with that or do you not give a damn!?"

Akira in his broken state of mind says something that he wouldn't have said if he was thinking clearly; "Why aren't you a hypocrite! Saying that I don't give a damn about Futaba! Last time I checked! I'm the reason why Futaba got out of her room and started to be more open to people! When all you ever did was give up on her and let her rot in her room! Maybe she would be better off with her uncle instead of with you!" "Damn it Akira! Why the hell did you say that!?"

He knew that he hit a nerve with Sojiro because he could see that Sojio was seething in rage; "Get the hell out of my café! I'm done being your guardian! The only reason I don't call the cops on you is because you have Futaba involved in this Phantom Thieves crap now!"

Akira hearing that he was getting kicked out made him snap out of his anger and he runs out of the Cafe knowing there wasn't anyway he could fix what he just said.

Futaba, hearing the whole thing, looks at Akira in sadness; "W-Why did you say that!? You don't mean that, do you!?" "Akiree!? Why are you acting like this!?"

He looks down in sadness finally realizing what he said to not only Sojiro but to Ann as well hurting both of them; "I-I...don't know anymore…Ann probably hates me now and Sojiro just kicked me out of the café…I have no parents now… and my life is ruined because of my criminal record. I have nowhere to go and nothing to live for anymore…" He clenches his fists trying not to have a mental breakdown; "I'm going to the Metaverse…to end it all…" "W-What!? Akira! Surely you don't mean that!?" He hugs Futaba; "I'm glad to have had you as a little sister please look after everyone especially Ann..." He then runs towards the subway.

She tries to run after Akira but he was way too fast for her so she stops at the end of the road and starts crying, "He's too fast…I-I have to call Ann…" She pulls out here phone to call her. "S-She's the only one that can save him!"

Velvet Room

Akira appears in the velvet room and instantly gets up; "Caroline, I need you to put Arsene into jail…" "What!? No! I'm not leaving you so you can kill yourself! What happened to being brothers!?" "We are, that's why I'm leaving you here so you don't die as well…"

But to Akira's surprise, Caroline was shocked; "W-What!? You can't kill yourself! You're supposed to be rehabilitated!"

Justine was just as surprised; "Caroline is right. You can't just give up because of what happened with your parents.

Akira ignores both of their advice; "Would you just put him in there?"

Caroline hesitantly hits his jail cell and Arsene appears in another jail cell

"Can you take me back Igor?"

"Of course." Igor waves his arm and the wall in the back of the cell turns into a blue door. Akira opens it but looks at Arsene; "I'm sorry Arsene...But I'm glad that I got to have you like a brother..." He then walks into it.

Arsene starts pulling on the bars trying to get out; "Damn it! Let me out of here! I have to save Akira!" "Hellooo! Fallen angel here! I can just bust open the cell!" "I can't transform here…" "Well…shit."

Igor smiles; "Relax Arsene, this all part of the Rehabilitation..."

Arsene glares at Igor behind his mask;"What the hell does he mean by that!?""The hell if I know. All I know is I want to put a bullet in his head."

Caroline looks over at Justine; "Can't we just let him out?"

"No, I know you are worried about Akira but we are to help with his rehabilitation that is all and he wants him in jail." She looks down; "Even if it's because he wants to kill himself…"

Caroline reels back blushing; "W-who says I'm worried about him!? We can't do the rehabilitation with him dead!"

Justine smiles at her; "There's no need to lie, Caroline."

Mementos Path of Aiyatsbus Area

Akira was limping through the area with no destination. He was covered in slash marks, burn marks, torn clothes, and was bleeding from all the fights with the shadows before he got here. He was originally just going to let the shadows rip him apart but a little part of him didn't want to die. But now, close to death, the little part of him that didn't want to die was slowly starting to fade away; "Ann…I'm sorry for what I said to you…because of what happened before I came here...it made me automatically accuse you of pretending to care for me...to hurt me like what Emily did…So I'm sorry Anki…I didn't deserve you…" He then sees a dead end and limps to the wall, collapsing against it. He then starts hearing snarling and sees multiple shadows crawling towards him; "I guess this is how I die huh…I'm sorry everyone…" The shadows start crawling even closer and he closes his eyes, waiting for his death.

"Dance Carmen!" That's when Pillars of flame engulfs all of the shadows instantly destroying them.

Akira eyes shoot open hearing Ann's voice; "Ann…?"

She slowly walks up to Akira; "Carmen. Heal him." Carmen summons a boy toy then turns it into a white ball and she throws it at him.

His injuries start healing and Ann walks up to him while he gets up; "Ann...I'm..."

*SLAP*

He didn't even flinch knowing that she was going to do that; "YOU DUMBASS!" She starts crying and throws herself into his chest; "I know that I went behind your back and hid your disownment from you but we could have talked about that! I know you lost your parents but you have family here! I know that Sojiro kicked you out but you can stay with somebody! You didn't have to go and try to kill yourself!" Carmen was sobbing; "You're stronger than this Akira!"

"Why did you two save me...? After I said all those things to you Ann, you should be hating me..."

She pulls back and takes off her mask then looks Akira in his eyes while caressing his cheek; "I know you didn't mean those things..." "Even though Makoto made me realize that." "I can never hate you Akira, you mean everything to me. You're the only man I can and will love. I-I don't think I can handle losing you..."

He looks away in shame; "I'm sorry Ann…I didn't know that..."

She hugs him tightly; "Really Akira...? I think I've proven that I'll only love you plenty of times!"

"I know...and I'm sorry for looking weak."

She shakes her head; "Everyone has their moments of weakness and you're the strongest person I know. You're always strong for us especially for me and now it's time for me to be strong for you."

"I don't deserve that Ann..."

She pulls away and wipes her eyes; "Would you stop being negative Akira? Geez, you're supposed to be Mr. I'm Always Positive." She then gives him puppy dog eyes; "Please stop being sad?"

For what seemed like forever to him, he laughs; "Fine...I can't deny those beautiful blue eyes anyways." But he smiles sadly; "Well I'm no longer a Kurusu, maybe I should change it to Takamaki then."

Her heart starts beating faster loving the idea of calling him Akira Takamaki because it sounded like they were married; "I like the sound of that!" She then smiles mischievously; "Well we should celebrate your new last name then."

He looks at her confused since it was supposed to be a joke; "What do you me…"

She interupts him by pushing him against the wall and starts kissing him. He was shocked at first but starts kissing her back and Ann pushes her tongue against his teeth hinting that she wanted to deepened the kiss. But Carmen stops them though; "I'm sorry Akira dear, but where's Arsene?"

He quickly pulls away because he had forgotten about him; "Arsene! I can't believe I forgot about him!" He releases Ann and starts running towards the entrance; "I need to get to the entrance!"

Ann and Carmen looked at each other in confusion but starts running after him

Velvet Room

Akira appears in his jail cell making Igor smile; "I see that you didn't end your life."

Arsene shoots up hearing what Igor said; "Akira! You're still alive!"

Caroline's eyes go wide; "You're alive! I-I mean so you didn't kill yourself over something stupid inmate!"

Justine smiles; "I told you that there was nothing to worry about, Caroline."

He smiles at Caroline; "Thank you for worrying about me, Caroline but can you release Arsene please?"

Caroline tries her hardest to hide her blush and hits Arsene's jail cell then he appears behind Akira

Arsene instantly puts his hand on Akira's shoulder and speaks in a stern voice; "Don't do something stupid like that again or I will break our pact."

Akira rolls his eyes; "That doesn't make a difference since you'd be losing me both ways."

"Well, um...yeah, that's true."

He chuckles; "Anyway, are you ready then Arsene? Ann and Carmen are outside waiting for us." Igor waved his hand and the door appeared again.

They were about to leave but Arsene stops Akira; "Something wrong, Arsene?"

Arsene smiles and looks behind towards Caroline; "You know Caroline, you shouldn't hide your admiration for Akira." He pushed Akira through the door and jumps in after him before Caroline could do anything.

Caroline was fuming with anger; "I'm going to kill/execute him over and over again!" Justine just chuckles

Mementos Entrance

Akira flies out the velvet room door while Arsene lands and Akira gets up then dusts off his jacket; "Really Arsene? She's going to torture you…" He shrugs; "Eh, it was worth it. She kept annoying me by ranting about how much of an idiot you were and how she secretly cares about you."

Carmen instantly rushes into Arsene and hugs him; "I missed you!"

He hugs her back chuckling, "Really? But I wasn't gone for long."

She puts her head on his shoulder; "So? Every minute you're not here with me feels like a lifetime for me..."

Ann looks at Akira still wondering where he left Akira; "So where did you leave him?"

Akira shrugs; "In the velvet room."

"You still never told me what this velvet room is yet and am I ever going to know."

"Trust me; I don't even know what it is still and I would show you but only me and Arsene can go in." But that's when he hears footsteps and sees the rest of the group rushing downstairs making him look down in regret; "Um...hey guys..."

Makoto smiles seeing that Akira was alive then walks up to him and gives him a hug; "I'm glad Ann made it in time and that you're safe. Sorry it took so long, I had to call everyone." "Don't worry us like that!"

Ryuji punches his shoulder; "Yeah man! I almost had a heart attack when Makoto told me what happened!" "No Cap'n o' mine will scuttle hisself!"

Yusuke puts a hand on Akira's shoulder; "You should have gone to us instead." "Death isn't the answer to sadness, Akira."

Haru goes up to Akira and hugs him; "I'm sorry about your parents, Akira-kun. If you need someone one to talk to, I'm always available since I know what it's like to lose parents." "I don't get why you're being a baby. Mistress Haru's parents are both dead while yours are still alive." She hits Milady with the blunt side of her axe.

Morgana walks up to Akira; "I knew you wouldn't die! You still have a promise you need to keep!" "That's the only reason I would have saved you."

Ryuji rubs his head; "Yeah right! You were crying the whole time, cat!"

Futaba runs into Akira while crying but the force knocks both of them down and she starts pounding his chest; "Stupid! Idiot! You have family here!" "You worried Futaba-chan and made her cry! You better make it up to her Akiree!"

He rubs Futaba's hair feeling bad; "I sorry Futaba, I'll make it up to you, I promise."

She lets go of him and gets up; "You better…" "You promised, Akiree!"

Akira gets up as well and scratches his head; "I'm sorry guys for worrying you. I was being an idiot and you all lost a parent or parents as well so now I feel like an asshole as well..." "Well that's what happens when you hold in all your pain to be strong for other people."

Ann sighs; "I still have both my parents…"

Ryuji shakes his head; "Nah! You're not an asshole. Sides Ann kept it from you for a long time, no wonder why you felt betrayed. Probably one of the reasons why you thought about killing yourself." Ann punches him in the arm; "Ow! It's not like I'm lying!" Kidd slaps him in the back of the head. And that made Ryuji hold his head; "Hey! That hurt!"

Ann glares daggers at him; "Doesn't mean you have to remind me and Akira!" Carmen was still holding onto Arsenes and looks at Ryuji; "Just when I thought you were becoming better..."

Yusuke crosses his arms; "You act like I wasn't upset about what happened with my parents and I understand why you would try killing yourself since Morgana told us something happened in your hometown. That's probably a reason as well though he didn't say what happened." "Maybe you should stop hiding things from us Akira, we are your friends."

Haru nods in agreement; "When I left our celebration at Destiny Land when my dad died; I cried myself to sleep when I got home and my mom left me when I was young, so I know what it feels like to lose parents but unlike me, you have your criminal record that's causing you pain as well." "Eh, you act like being a criminal is a bad thing, well except when you get caught and they decapitate you."

Ann holds onto Akira's arm; "You see Akira, everyone knows what you're going through so you don't have to deal with everything that's happened to you alone."

Morgana looks down; "I'm sorry I'm not able to help you…" "Fine, you don't deserve what's happened to you, Amigo."

Akira walks up to Morgana then kneels and pats his head; "Don't worry about it, Morgana. You're still one of my best friends." He gets up and looks at everyone; "Maybe it's time I told you guys what happened at my hometown then. We should get out of here though..." But he sighs; "Crap...I forgot I can't go to the café anymore..."

Futaba hangs her head; "I tried talking to Sojiro but he's still upset about what you said and about us being phantom thieves..." "He's just worried about you Futaba-chan." "I know…"

Everyone looks at Ann making blush; "U-Um, I would love to if my parents were gone but my dad won't allow a guy to stay at my house." "Of course, he had to get kicked out when my parents are home..." "Well there goes your chance at love making every night then."

Ryuji scratches his head; "My mom won't let you stay cause we have no room in our apartment and you've seen the size of them already...Sorry man." "Ye needs a bigger livin' quarters matey."

Yusuke sighs; "We can't let non-students stay at the dorms and if you get caught, they will kick me out of the dorm and I don't want to chance it. My apologies…even when you let me stay for a bit at the café…" "No chance…"

Akira shakes his head; "It's alright guys, I don't want to cause you guys any trouble. I can just sleep outside somewhere." "Akira... that's not good for your health."

Makoto sighs; "I would let you stay at my place but my sister already thinks I'm a freeloader so even though I want to help, I can't..." "Plus Ann would burn me alive…" "Your sister is still cool!"

Haru looks at Ann nervously; "Um Ann-chan, could I talk to you outside?"

Ann looks at Haru confused on why she was nervous and wanted to talk alone; "Um, sure."

They go outside and Haru coughs nervously; "I can let Akira stay at my house since I'm the only one there but I want to get your permission first."

Ann felt a surge of jealously that she didn't mean to have but she didn't want Akira to be left out of the cold either; "Yeah, you have my permission, Haru. I-It's not like I own him or anything." She tried to keep her voice even but she still hesitated. But thankfully, Haru didn't notice her hesitation.

Haru bows; "Thank you! I just don't want Akira to sleep outside, I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way by doing this."

Ann surprisingly smiles; "Of course you didn't. You would have, if you didn't ask me first. "Yeah I should be trusting Haru, she's a friend."

"That's good. I should go tell Akira then." They go back inside.

Akira sees the two girls walk downstairs; "Is everything alright, you two?"

Haru nods smiling; "Yes, everything's fine. You can stay with me till Sojiro-san calms down and don't worry, the police have finally stopped investigating my house." Milady walks over to Arsene pushing Carmen away and latching on to his right arm; "Well well, I guess you and me will be staying together." She smirks at Carmen; "Unlike you, Jezebel."

Everyone except Haru looked at Ann but she smiles; "What? I gave her permission." Carmen bursts into flames; "Get your hands of my Arsey!"

"Your Arsey?" Milady laughs hysterically; "How can he be yours? When you two haven't even had sex."

Carmen's flames dissipate because she was at a loss for words since Milady was right; "Well…um...we haven't had the time yet…"

"Oh dear me, you are pathetic. If you really did love Arsene then you would have slept with him by now." She fake gasps; "Maybe you only pretended to love him to make up for what you did to that man in your past."

Carmen's eyes go wide, "What! That's not true! How do you know about that man anyways!?"

Milady starts laughing again; "You do know that they wrote stories about our lives? Mistress Haru read them after finding out about us unlike your 'mini-jezebel'."

Ann glares at her; "Excuse me! I'm not a jezebel and so isn't Carmen!"

Arsene pulls his arm away from Milady tired of her berating; "Enough! You have gone too far Milady! We may be living together for now but you will not talk to me. Do you understand!?"

"Tch, fine, have your bimbo." Milady snaps her fingers at Goemon; "You! Come here!"

Goemon instantly walks over to her; "Yes?"

"Since Mr. Boney over there doesn't have the proper equipment and I'm not desperate enough to sleep with a cat. You are now chosen to be my boy toy."

Goemon bows; "Yes, my mistress." He agrees without question

"Good boy."

Ryuji looks at the two like a deer caught in the headlights; "The hell just happened!?" "I be jus' as confuse lad, I be jus' glad she didn' choose me…"

Ann smiles knowing exactly why Goemon instantly agreed to Milady; "Well, it looks like I don't have to worry about Haru now." "Arsene saved your ass from me killing you, harlot!"

Akira smiles at all of them; "They really are like family." He looks at Haru; "Can everyone come by your house tonight? I want to tell everyone what happened after I was convicted." "Good, it's about time you tell Ann and everyone else."

Haru nods, "Of course, are you ready to go Akira-kun?"

"Yeah. Let's go then."

Everyone starts walking outside until Ann stops Makoto, "Go on ahead, I just want to talk to Makoto about something." Everyone except Ann and Makoto nods and leave; "I just wanted to say thank you again, for helping me realize that I need to be stronger for Akira. If you didn't, I would've kept doubting myself even when Futaba called me and…Akira would've died." "You know, what happened between you and Akira. Reminds me of what happened between me and Arsene, we really are part of you guys."

Makoto nods smiling; "Of course, we are besties after all, right?" "That does make sense. I don't think me and Satanael have anything to hide."

Ann hugs her; "Totally!" "He already told us his past and he knows about your past so no need to worry dear."

They both start walking upstairs; "I wonder what happened to Akira in his hometown. He's been holding it in for so long. It is no wonder why he wasn't in the right state of mind after hearing about his disownment, it that must have broken his spirit more." "Thank you Carmen."

"Yeah, I'm glad he's doing okay now." "And now I'll finally know what that girl did to make him doubt me so easily." "You're welcome dear."
