Chapter 4: Melee Newcomers (Part I)
The mansion was ready for the smashers when the tournament was done. Another floor was added with more bathrooms and bedrooms. The workers have added another section to the first floor, again adding more space and room.
All the workers had to do was to finish the pool.
"This looks amazing. They did really good in just one day," Fox said. He and a couple of others went to the second floor to check it out.
"Hey, Samus. Weren't you, Kirby and Yoshi thinking we were getting new characters?" Fox asked looking back at her. Samus nodded while looking at the names on the doors as she passed by them. Pikachu suddenly made a sound of surprise before dashing off.
Pikachu ran downstairs looking for Link. He ran around the whole first floor then checked Links' bedroom. He wasn't in his room either. Pikachu sighed and continued about his evening.
"Pikachu!" Link called out when he passed him in the hallway. Pikachu looked back as Link jogged over.
"I heard you were looking for me earlier." Pikachu nodded and explained the reason for searching for him. Link burst into a smile, thanking Pikachu. He headed to the second floor and looked at the nameplates on the doors he passed only stopping when he got to his princess's door.
Link looked at her nameplate 'Princess Zelda' 'Wow, we'll be together again, goddess Hylia. This is amazing. I am so excited!' Link looked at the rest of the names, he stopped, his eyes widening when he read the name. 'Young Link! Wait, what? I'm going to join smash again?!' Link thought more about that, this was going to be weird and confusing. Then he thought about if Ganondorf was going to join. Link finished searching the halls and let out a growl when his idea was confirmed. He muttered underneath his breath angrily.
"I knew it was too good to be true."
Master Hand looked at the smashers who stood in front of him. A couple of days have passed since the mansion has been worked on and everything was done.
"Today is the day where we are moving on with our game. You will meet more characters, a lot of them will be new while some will be from your video game. New stages have also been added but before we begin I'd like you to meet my brother, Crazy Hand." As if on cue, Crazy Hand appeared beside his brother. He was Master Hand's left counterpart.
"Now let's begin introducing everyone shall we brother?" Crazy Hand announced. After a while Link was losing attention until he heard the title of his video game. He looked up at the platform and saw Young Link, Ganondorf and Zelda standing there, looking at the crowd. When they walked off the platform they stood in the front for the rest of the event.
"That concludes this assembly. You all are sure to enjoy the rest of your day and newcomers, we welcome you to Super Smash Brothers Melee!" Master Hand said.
Link made his way to the front apologizing to the characters he bumped into. He called out Zelda's name and she looked around. When she locked eyes with Link she burst into a smile of joy. Link opened his arms and Zelda rushed into his embrace.
"I am so glad to see you again Link. I missed you so much," Zelda pulled away tracing his cheek with her hand. Link tipped his face into her palm with a smile.
"I missed you too." Link said. He looked at his younger self and enemy. He ruffled his hair when he looked down at Young Link. 'Hylia, I'm short' Link thought to himself.
"I sure wasn't expecting myself as a kid to be here." Young Link laughed and jerked a thumb at Ganondorf.
"Now that Hyrule is safe, there is nothing to do so I'm glad I joined Smash Bros," Young replied. Ganondorf looked around at the place.
"Are you going to show us around Link? I would like it if you could be so kind as to give us a tour."
""Yeah I can." Link nodded. The Hylian hero showed them the gardens with all the fountains then the newest addition, the swimming pool. As Link showed them around he noticed two other swordsmen that had joined. He mustn't have been paying attention when they were introduced, because he couldn't even put names to their faces.
"This young man here is Link," Mario said walking up towards him. Link looked at Mario, then he noticed a princess and bowed slightly for her.
"How do you do?" Link asked.
"I am doing well, thank you. My name is Peach Toadstool, but call me Princess Peach," Peach introduced herself. Mario stepped aside so Link could see who was behind him. A man in a green outfit with overalls stood there, his hands behind his back shyly glancing around.
"This is my brother Luigi," Mario said. Luigi flashed a smile up at Link before looking away.
"Nice to meet you guys. My name is Young Link!" Young Link pointed a thumb at himself. Zelda smiled at Peach.
"My name is Zelda. Princess of Hyrule."
"I'm Ganondorf, King of Thieves."
Young Link felt his stomach growl and poked Link, telling him he was hungry and wanted to eat.
"Of course. Come on," Link replied.
