Chapter 4: Melee Newcomers (Part II)
Princess Zelda sat down at the dining table looking at the food. There was a lot. Link saw that the game got a good amount of new characters. As his group was eating Master Hand made one last announcement.
"The stages have also been worked on. There are now new stages along with the old ones." When they looked at the stages, Mario and Link showed them the original stages that were available when they first arrived.
"The battles take place on these stages?" Ganondorf looked at Link for an answer. He nodded. Zelda decided to head on back inside of the mansion in order to unpack.
"Thank you for showing us around, I'm going to head inside, find my room and unpack my belongings. Nice meeting you all!" Zelda chirped turning around.
Later that day Young Link bugged Link to let him sleep in his room.
"Yeah, there's no problem with that. Can I ask why?" Link looked down at Young questioningly. This wasn't like him. Young shrugged.
"I think the thought of having myself as a roommate sounds cool, besides I don't want to be alone in my room," Young replied. Link waved a hand, gesturing for him to follow behind him. He stopped, turning back to him.
"My room is on the first floor, but before we go, are you interested in checking out your wardrobe in your room?" Young shook his head. He wasn't interested in seeing his clothes, that were everyday things. As Young followed Link down the stairs Kirby stopped them, striking up a conversation.
"Young Link, hi! Your room is right beside mine, looks like you'll be my neighbor!" Kirby said.
"I doubt you'll see me there often. Link's letting me sleep with him in his room," Young replied with a smile.
"Aren't you lucky having Link as your older brother. That's nice." Young Link and Link shook their heads.
"I'm not his big brother."
"He is not my brother! He's me as an adult," Young jerked his thumb back at Link who nodded.
"That's why he's called Young Link." Kirby just looked at the two Links, or was there only one Link? He was so confused now. After a long moment he blinked then continued on his way. Young and Link exchanged looks.
"Honestly, Kirby isn't the only one who is in confusion. I'm confused too, if someone is talking to me about you Link, do I refer to you using he or I?" Young questioned, shifting his weight to one leg. He looked at Link, waiting for an answer from him. Link had no clue either and sighed.
"I am you and you are me. We are each other, or were? You know what, forget it. Let's just pretend we're two different people and make our lives easier!" Link exclaimed, swinging his arms into the air. Young Link chuckled.
"Our lives, or is it my life?"
"Enough okay. No more Young!"
"Yes Link."
Link cupped his hands around his mouth.
"Young! Bedtime!" Link shouted. He waited, and spotted Young running up to him. The young Hylian saw the fountains and he was curious about something. He thought he could ask Link about it.
"Link I was wondering. Are there great fairies in this video game?"
"No there aren't any fairies in Smash," Link let out a yawn, covering his mouth.
When they entered the room, Young Link took off his equipment then slipped underneath the covers. Link tossed his boots to the side, his equipment following after. He looked at Young.
"Where are your boots?"
"They aren't on my ears as you can see."
"Take your boots off. It'll get the bedsheets dirty, take them off and put them with mine," Link commanded crossing his arms.
"I don't need anything crawling into them at night," Young replied. Link facepalmed himself. He tried to reassure Young that nothing was going to crawl into them and still Young refused to take his boots off and Link wasn't going to take it any longer. The older Hylian marched over to the bed, glaring at the younger one and yanked the blankets off the bed. Young Link let out an exclamation.
"Boots! Off!" Link growled.
"Fine, now give me the blanket back."
"Young. That's it!" Link lunged towards him, grabbing Young's legs. Young let out scream, trying to kick him off. Lnk pulled his boots off and threw them into the pile. When Link turned back to Young, he got a pillow in the head.
"Get up and get the pillow now." Young got off the bed, got the pillow and the blanket. He threw the pillow onto the bed while Link fixed the blanket.
"Hylia, you're annoying Link."
"You shouldn't have been a brat and listened to me Young." Link replied.
