Chapter 7
Roy was sitting on the edge of one of the fountains that were spread amidst the gardens. He was lost in his own swirling thoughts. At least until a cold splash of water hit him, soaking the material of his clothes. The redhead let out a groan, looking to the side at the other male who was sitting beside him. The male said an apology to Roy.
"I needed to get your attention, you were out of my reach where I could tap or nudge you," he said. Roy sighed.
"What did you want my attention for Marth?" Roy asked, looking at Marth. Marth nodded his head. Roy looked in the direction, quick to recognize that one of the women was the winner in the battle that Marth and himself participated in.
"Princess Zelda and…." Roy asked trailing off, trying to remember the other woman's name.
"Princess Peach is the other woman I believe," Marth said. Roy nodded. He looked at Marth questioningly.
"Do you want to go talk to them, Marth?"
"I do. Maybe they'd let us join their group. That elf-like swordsman is with them."
"The guy with the green outfit?"
"Yeah. Come with me," Marth got up, walking past him. Roy followed after him.
"Hello ladies," Marth greeted them, smoothly turning his charm on. Zelda and Peach stopped their conversation and looked at the two swordsmen that stood in front of them. Peach looked at Zelda.
"You said they didn't speak English."
"They weren't earlier!"
"Marth and I enjoy speaking in Japanese when it's just us together, but we also speak and understand English," Roy stated.
"I wanted to congratulate Princess Zelda on her victory," Marth said with a grin. He looked at Peach who was waving a finger between him and Roy. Her brows furrowed in confusion. Marth is you right?" Peach asked pointing at the blue-haired swordsman. Marth nodded with a thumbs up.
"That means you must be Roy," Peach pointed to Roy who smiled.
"Roy has red hair. That being said should make it easier to remember," Marth glanced at Roy's fiery red hair. Roy rolled his eyes at Marths remark.
"Are you okay if Roy and I join your group?"
"Of course. I'm sure Link would love that," Zelda said.
"Let's go find him," Peach said. The princesses and swordsmen walked around outside, looking for Link and the others. Marth nudged Roy, pointing at a creature who moved on the other side of the garden.
"Oh my god! What the heck is that?! Marth what is it?!" Roy exclaimed, his mouth wide open.
"I'm going out on a limb and going to say a dinosaur-turtle hybrid," Marth furrowed his eyebrows together trying to identify the big creature. His concentration was lost when Princess Peach burst into a fit of laughter, tossing her head back. Marth and Roy shifted their eyes onto the blonde-haired woman in front of them.
"It's not nice to laugh at people you know," Roy said.
"I just-" Peach tried to say in between breaths. It took her a few minutes to stop laughing. Roy crossed his arms over his chest.
"What's so funny?"
"I find it funny how Marth described Bowser," Peach answered wiping her tears away.
"Bowser? Is he the antagonist from your game Peach?"
"Yes, he is," Peach replied. She pulled out her parasol, opened it up then swung it over her shoulder. Marth and Roy noticed it was the same parasol she used in the middle of a battle. Roy glanced at the flowers here and there, noticing the most beautiful ones he personally enjoyed.
"The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. My regards to the people who have been managing them," Roy complimented. The two princesses smiled at one another, before thanking Roy for his compliment. Zelda told him how she and Peach come outside to work in the gardens for about an hour to work every day, depending on the weather. She noticed that Link and the others were sitting up ahead of them. She took a seat on the fountain beside them. Peach closed her parasol before sitting down. Link wiggled a finger between Roy and Marth with a questioning look on his face.
"Are you two wanting to join our group?"
"Yes, we do."
"Great, my name is Link. There is also a younger me running around. He goes by Young Link and we tell everyone that he and I are brothers instead of explaining, that we're the same boy." Link grinned at the confused faces of the red-head and blue-haired swordsmen. They wanted to ask but decided to at a later date. The other two men who sat on the bench beside Link introduced themselves.
"Are you two actually brothers?" Marth teased. He could see that they were both in fact siblings.
"My name is Marth. It's a pleasure to meet everyone."
"I'm Roy. Marth and I come from the same game also English isn't our first language. We speak fluent in Japanese."
