"Let's just put the stage selection settings on random," Bowser reached up, clicking tabs on the screen. A new screen popped up and he worked on adjusting the settings.
"Do you want to play using items?" Bowser looked back at Meta-knight who shook his head.
"I just want to work on my fighting skills."
"Time or stock mode?"
"Stock with three lives per player."
"Set and done."
The two opponents walked onto the transportation platforms. Moments later they were standing on an unfamiliar smash stage.
'Never seen this stage before.' Meta-knight thought to himself. He quickly looked around. He heard a roar and turned his body, getting a foot to the face painfully. He flew back recovering right before he hit the cement wall. There were two cement walls that bordered the platform. The cement walls must have been to mark the boundaries for the stage. If you go outside the walls then you're out.
Meta-knight launched himself at Bowser. Bowser used his fire breath to defend in front of him. Yet, characters were still able to attack if they went from behind or above, which was Meta-knights next move. He used his sword and slashed downwards striking Bowser. When he landed, he struck a couple more times. Bowser growled and snatched Meta-knight, jumping into the air and body-slammed them back down onto the stage. Meta-knight let out a yell. Bowser swiped at him which sent him flying into the air.
Meta-knight flew outside the wall's parameters. He looked down beneath him and noticed another wall creating a space between the two. Meta-knight used his dimensional cape and launched himself down in between the two walls.
He landed on the ground and investigated an area that was enclosed by cement walls. In the middle of the stage, there was spikes from the top of the ceiling and spikes in a pit on the bottom. If fighters were fighting in an enclosed area such as this their HP can raise dangerously high. With no way to knock them off the stage, when they do emerge into the open area, one hit and they are out of the game.
Bowser landed onto the other side of the enclosed part of the stage. He saw Meta-knight at the other end and made his way. He jumped over the pit of spikes but misjudged the space he had with the spikes above the pit. He was thrown down into the spikes below and tried to recover. While Bowser was caught up in the spikes, Meta-knight used that time to escape and go back up onto the main platform. He quickly checked Bowsers stamina before he went up.
Bowser finally made it out of the spikes and went back onto the main platform. He knew with his stamina this high, it's pointless. Might as well get this one life over with. He ran towards Meta-knight throwing a couple punches. Meta-knight swiftly moved out of the way and used his forward smash attack. Bowser was out, two lives remaining.
In the end Bowser was the victor with one life left and at a low stamina.
"I've never seen that stage before," Bowser said.
"Exactly what I was thinking. I didn't see it in the stage selection, unless there is another set of stage choice on a sub-screen." The two smashers went up to the screen their eyes scanning it. Meta-knight pointed to an area on the screen.
"There it is. 'Death wish'?" There was more information regarding the stage size, selected soundtrack and the creators of the stage.
"Pokémon Trainer, Pikachu, Ness and Lucas created this stage. I know their young, but I would have thought that they would have done something more creative." Bowser said. Meta-knight nodded.
"The way they created it doesn't match up with their chosen name, or vice versa."
"We all thought it fit quite well at the time. Too simple, or does the layout need some touching up?" Pokémon Trainer came up the steps, stood beside them and looked at the screen his arms crossed in front of him.
"It's good but just fix a few parts, maybe the walls and how they're set up." Bowser suggested.
"I'll watch your replay to see how your battle went. Thank you for your input." Pokémon Trainer took control of the screens and with that the other two smashers left. After he watched their battle, he went back to the stage builder screen and clicked edit.
Meta-knight was right with how the walls were designed. Unless players are knocked outside the walls, they won't know that they can below the main platform of the stage. Pokémon Trainer kept the height of the outer two walls the same instead lowering the inner walls height. This allows the smashers to see that there are another set of walls. Which they'll be able to go in between and enter the chamber below. He added in horizontal moving platforms at the bottom of the stage. That'll be more of a challenge for smasher to enter the chamber in the stage. If they're able to land on the platforms they can continue into the chamber to fight their opponents.
Whatever edit he did on one side he did to the other side. He destroyed both outer walls and rebuilt them with more space in between the inner and outer walls. With the new space he added in vertical moving platforms to help with exiting the chamber and return to the main stage's platform. He added more space in the chamber, spikes and two drop blocks on each side of the pit of spikes.
Once Pokémon Trainer was done, he saved, closed the stage building screen and returned to the main screen. He smiled stretching his body. Hopefully those edits will make the stage better. Guess he'll have to find out again.
