I'm really thinking about including Once Upon a Time but I'm not so sure. Just because both universes have magic doesn't mean they exist together. I will try to stick with the Harry Potter canon as close as possible, but the only info we get about Harry and his friends after the war is from Pottermore and the Cursed Child, so I'll probably be adding some of my own ideas in. And since the HP universe is real, that means there's no HP books, but it doesn't that J. K. Rowling isn't famous, she just probably wrote something else. Or maybe, in this universe she doesn't exist? What do you guys think?
I'll also be putting in some details about CHYKN, but we get so little info it's hard to make a backstory but I'll do my best. If any of you have your own ideas about their personalities, history, or hobbies, I'd love to know! The W.I.T.C.H. girls have been shown their futures twice, a possible future and a ten years later one. They, except Hay Lin, seemed to have changed their futures, but that doesn't mean they haven't been thinking about those futures as possible careers.
Will- businesswoman and writer
Irma- dolphin trainer and math teacher
Taranee- dance instructor and Olympic runner
Cornelia- park ranger and actress
Hay Lin- flight attendant and mother- Her daughter's name is Tess
They all still dance and they learned capoeira but only for a few issues.
We also see in some issues other hobbies and interests. In issue #112 Will goes abroad to study French (we can assume from this that she really likes the language and can speak it well) and Irma goes horse-back riding. We also know Irma likes singing and since she was picked to be the singer for the band in W.I.T.C.H. on Stage we can assume she has a good voice. Cornelia worked in a children's camp in issue #112. Hay Lin learns German but only in one issue and she plays bass guitar but also only in one issue, so it's hard to say if she really likes those things. And if any of you read my Phobos story, I'm in the process of updating it with more details and some slight changes.
Irma woke up and yawned. They had another meeting today, but this time it was just them and their parents. Ever since they were told their daughters' secret they had insisted on knowing everything and being present for every meeting(and they had a lot of meetings now). Will's mother was actually the one who arranged the meeting and had asked all the parents to be there.
As Irma got dressed and ate breakfast she wondered what the meeting was all about. When the time came to go the meeting, she went with her parents to the bus. When everyone was sitting in the conference room, Susan got up. "Thank you for coming," she began. "I asked you all to come so Will can show you something." Will shyly extended her hand to reveal a sparkling diamond ring, which elicited squeals of excitement from her friends and congratulations from the adults.
When everyone calmed down, Susan continued, "as you can see, Will is engaged and you can probably guess that it's to Matt Olsen. This got me thinking that since our daughters are older, we should really talk about their futures. They may be Guardians but they still have real life obligations such as going to college and getting jobs, and they are old enough to get married if their boyfriends decide to propose."
"Well," Elizabeth Hale spoke up, "college is important but there are other ways to make money. As for marriage, Cornelia and Peter have been dating seriously for a few years now and I wouldn't be surprised if he proposed."
"Hay Lin is dating a nice boy named Wesley," Joan Lin said, "and they've been dating for at least a year. I don't think marriage is on their minds right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if he proposed sooner or later, and they are old enough to get married if they want to though I think they should wait a few more years."
"So let's talk about college," Theresa Cook suggested. "Taranee does have a job at Jensen's but I think she should go to college, maybe for something math or science related."
"Maybe they don't have to go to college as I know the girls take dancing," Elizabeth Hale said, "and dancing actually can be a good career. Cornelia still takes figure skating, and I have no objection if she wants to do either of those."
"About that," Cornelia said, "I still like skating, but I've been thinking of going into acting or modeling, or even something more connected to my element, like being a park ranger."
"Well, you have plenty of time to decide," Elizabeth replied.
"I like the fact that Hay is dancing," Joan Lin said, "and it's a wholesome activity and exercise but my husband and I would want her to run the restaurant when she's older."
"I also like the fact that Irma is dancing," Anna Lair said, "like you said it's wholesome and good exercise but I'm not sure it's a career and I want her to have other options."
"Well," Susan said, "Will has her swimming and she works at the pet shop, and now that she and Matt are engaged I assume that when they get married they'll inherit the shop. And speaking of getting married, I'm jumping the gun but what about your children? Will our future granddaughters be Guardians too?"
"We don't know", Will said, "but we can assume that at least one will. And since we're on the subject of our future children, since it's possible that they will be Guardians or inherit some magical power, I want to say that we're so grateful that you're taking all this so well, since it makes our lives easier and it will make our chidrens' lives easier."
"On that note," Chen Lin said, "if your daughters will not be Guardians how will they get magic powers?"
"We're not sure," Will shrugged, "but we do have some theories, and since all these magical children have been popping up we think it's likely that many of our future children will have powers even if they're not Guardians."
"Can we please get back to discussing college?" Mrs. Cook requested. "I want to ensure that my daughter will have a future after this Guardian business is done."
"Well," Taranee started, "I've been thinking of becoming a food critic. Martin Tubbs said he's going to take courses to be one, and from what he told me it sounds like something I'd enjoy."
"That's something, I guess," Mrs. Cook said with a frown. "I do wish you would do something a little more intellectual."
"What about everyone else?" Will asked before a potential argument would erupt. "Now's actually a good time to discuss college and careers and all that. We are getting older and we aren't going to be Guardians forever."
"Well actually," Hay Lin said, "Irma has given me a great idea about making a Guardian fashion line and I really want to do it. I love the restaurant but I love making clothes more," she said as she looked at her parents earnestly.
"Well," Joan Lin replied, " we know how much you love making clothes and you're so good at it, and i'm sure we'll be able to get other help. But aren't you limiting yourself if you are going to make just a Guardian fashion line?"
"There were a lot of generations of Guardians before us," Hay Lin explained, "so I'll be copying their outfits, and of course I'll be copying ours as well. I'll also be copying the outfits I made for the musical and I' ll be designing my own outfits."
"If you're making a fashion line based on our outfits I want in!" Cornelia exclaimed. "We can also model them!" The other girls nodded in agreement."
"So," Hay Lin said, "it looks like we'll be having a Guardian fashion line!"
"Okay," Susan broke in, "I think this fashion line is a great idea, but let's finish up with college talk. What about you, Will?"
"Well, there is my swimming,"Will replied, "and I'm still dancing and working at the petshop, and I was actually thinking of becoming a lifeguard. But," she added somewhat shyly, "I'm really thinking about writing a book based on our adventures. The Oracle actually showed us a possible future where I wrote a manuscript, and I want to make that a reality."
"And what about you, Irma?" Anna asked her daughter.
"Well," Irma said sheepishly, "I'm not sure. I do like dancing at Jensen's but maybe not as a career. "
"That's fine," Anna reassured her. "You don't have to decide right now, but I just want to make sure you have some ideas as to what you want to do."
Mr. Lair spoke up. "So,", he began, "since we're all here, can you girls tell us what the whole story is with the Browns?" The girls looked at each other and shrugged, then told the whole story.
"So Elyon is now safe and is the Queen of another world," Dean Collins mused when they finished. "This Metamoor sounds fascinating, especially from a historian's perspective."
"I suppose so," Mr. Lair agreed, "but I can't exactly write this up in a police report. It's a good thing the Oracle erased everyone else's memories ."
"That may be so," Mrs. Cook exclaimed as she folded her arms, "but our daughters were put in danger!I believe we need to make some rules, like if they are sent to another planet that involves fighting a homicidal maniac, with or without magical powers, they need to tell us!"
"Perhaps," Susan said, "but in any case, let's finish up. Our daughters do have an idea of what they want to do career wise, and we can probably leave the marriage talk for another time. Is there anything else?"
"Actually," said Yan Lin as she materialized right in front of them, "there is something else. First of all, I want to express my gratitude to all you parents for being so understanding and for taking all of this so well."
The parents nodded slowly, not sure where this was going.
"Now," the Oracle continued, "there was a different Oracle before me, who was your daughters' boss and my boss as well when I was a Guardian with my friends. The role of the Oracle is mainly to observe and not interfere. This meant that the previous Oracle made a... questionable decision that heavily impacted our lives and your daughters' lives. This decision actually impacted your life as well, Susan. Therefore, before I tell you all the whole story I need to ask your permission."
Will's mother blinked in surprise. "I guess that's okay," she said in confusion. And so Yan Lin began telling the tale of her and friends and their time as Guardians, and how that came to a crashing halt when Nerissa killed Cassidy. The Oracle had then used his powers to make everyone think that they had climbed Mount Thanos for fun only for Cassidy to slip and fall to her death.
"That's awful," Susan said sympathetically, "but what does that have to do with me?"
"Well," Yan Lin sighed, "at that time we have been Guardians for years and were a little older than your daughters are now. Nerissa had married her high school sweetheart and was expecting. My friends and I believed that hormones contributed to her state of mind. In any case, as soon as Nerissa gave birth and was alone in her room she was whisked away to Kandrakar and sentenced. The Oracle then used his powers to make a duplicate of her and set it up so everyone thought that she commited suicide since she was so distressed about causing Cassidy's death. There was just the matter of their children as Nerissa had given birth to twins and her husband wasn't sure he could take care of both. Then the boy exhibited signs of having magical powers, which lead to us telling Nerissa's husband about our secret, which incidentally was another sore point between us as she wanted to tell him but we demanded that she not. In any case, he decided to give one of them up for adoption, which meant he had give up the girl and keep the boy so no one would discover his powers. That girl was you, Susan."
Everyone was listening in shock, especially the Guardians.
"After that," Yan Lin continued, "life went on. Kadma and Halinor founded the Rising Star foundation and kept an eye on you, Susan, and on Will when she was born. Nerissa's husband moved away with his son and we lost contact. And before I forget, there's one more thing. Nerissa's husband was Caleb Riddle."
There was silence until... "Riddle is my uncle?" Will gasped in shock.
"It does explain his powers," Taranee said thoughtfully.
"You mean that that the man who kidnapped my daughter is my brother?" Susan asked in disbelief.
Yan Lin raised her hand for quiet as voices began to rise. "Indeed, that is the case. I know this is a big shock, but I couldn't keep this from you anymore. As I said before, the previous Oracle made a questionable decision in the past and now I'm trying my best to make up for it. But you should know, it's not entirely his fault, as the role of the Oracle is to observe and not to interfere."
"But haven't you been interfering, what with telling us about the Wizarding World and all?" Joan Lin asked.
"Yes," Yan Lin admitted, "but I believe in a healthy amount of interference. What I'm doing is just setting the stage and making sure you'll have all the resources you'll need to ensure that things run smoothly. When that's done, it'll be up to both sets of Guardians. And speaking of, there are some things I need to share with you. First is that while the Guardians of Earth will be the ones dealing with the wizards and Interpol, the Guardians of Kandrakar will share some of that responsibility, so I need you girls to get together and figure that out. It will also be good for you to spend time together as friends and get to know each other more.
"Second, there's these," she said as she motioned to a keypad on the wall. "These, along with intercoms, are installed in all the rooms. Parents, I don't know if you were told but the bus has an endless amount of rooms that were in constant change. I installed the keypads so the girls can control what rooms appear when and I gave Will the instructions. I also added additional rooms and installed intercoms so communication will be much easier. Now, you probably want to go home but I believe you haven't met Kandor yet so let's do that."
The parents were then introduced to Kandor and then, a still dazed Susan asked, "what about my... mother? Are we going to talk about her more?"
"If that's what you want," the Oracle replied, "though I don't have time right now. Mr. and Mrs. Lair, can I borrow Irma?"
"I guess so,"Tom replied.
"Excellent," Yan Lin replied. "We'll pop over to Kandrakar for a bit then I'll send her right to her room. And don't worry, Susan, we'll talk about your mother later." Then she and Irma were gone.
Irma and the Oracle appeared in Kandrakar, in a room they hadn't seen before. It was small with a giant door.
"Okay," Irma said as she wondered what was going on.
"Go in," the Oracle said with a smile.
Irma shrugged, opened the door, and went in. She blinked as she saw dozens of images of her friends as they all did their hobbies. They all looked so happy. Then she saw images of herself doing nothing. She looked back and forth between the images, not sure what she was supposed to do. Then she jumped as a hologram of herself appeared right in front of her.
"You should do what they do," her hologram said.
"Huh,?" Irma asked.
"Your friends," the hologram replied. "They know what they like to do, so copy them!"
"Um," Irma replied, still confused. "But I don't like what they do! I mean, I like some of them, like dancing, but not very much."
"That doesn't matter!" the hologram insisted. "It's the nature of Water to go with the flow and not think for yourself!"
By now Irma was getting pretty annoyed. "I can think for myself!" she snapped.
"Oh really?" the hologram challenged. "Then why can't you think of a career? Why are you the only one without any dreams or plans for the future?"
Irma stuck her tongue out at the hologram then started to think. She liked singing and dancing but they weren't passions. She did like taking baths and eating, though you couldn't get paid for doing those things. Or actually, could you? She wasn't sure about taking baths, but there were plenty of food-related jobs. The Lins had a restaurant for Heaven's sake! Irma felt like smacking herself; how could she forget such a thing? Visions of whipping up delicious dishes and desserts for a crowd of admirers danced through her mind.
"I can think for myself and I have a plan for the future!" she declared. "I'm going to be a chef!"
The hologram disappeared and the door opened. Irma walked out, still confused but pleased with herself.
"Congratulations," the Oracle told her, "on passing your Test of Self. There's nothing wrong with making decisions based on what other people do or say, but it's important to ask yourself what YOU want and why you want it. You have made your decision based on what you like and what you want, though of course you can change it anytime you want. The most important thing thing is that you showed the ability to determine what you want and why. Now please sit down as I have to talk to you."
After Irma did, the Oracle continued, " if you don't mind I will ask Meg and Alicia to arrange with you to connect you to the Heart of Earth tomorrow as I have some things I want to talk about. You're not in trouble," the Oracle said with a smile, "but there are some things I want to discuss with you. I feel that since Phobos was released, it would be best to ease him into the whole being-on-good-terms- with-you-all thing, and the best way to do that is if he spends some time with one of you first instead of being with all five of you at once, and I thought you were the best candidate for the job."
Irma looked confused, so Yan Lin elaborated, "I think the two of you should, as they say, hang out. Get to know each other a little more and so on, and afterwards we'll take it from there. I picked you because you have a lot in common with him and I think you'll get along fair enough. We just have to work it out."
"Okay," Irma replied, not sure how to feel about this.
"There's another thing I want to discuss with you, and it's about your test which I'm sure you're still confused about. The thing is, you remind me so much of Cassidy and..." her voice trailed off momentarily as she sniffed, "I don't want that to ever repeat itself. Of course I trust Will and all of you that this won't happen, but I can't help noticing the similarities between all of you and my friends and I, and I can't help thinking that if we had acted differently than Nerissa would've turned out differently. I therefore want to ensure that all of you will have the skills needed to prevent another Nerissa."
Irma nodded, still not sure what to think it. "Anyway," the Oracle coninued, "as you know, the previous Oracle usually kept information on a need-to-know basis, which isn't always the best policy. I therefore want to remedy that, and it happens that the Guardian of each Element has a similar personality, and the Water Guardians usually have the perfect blend of serious and also usually adapt well to new situatations and get along with others. That is why I want to make you Kandrakar's official Ambassador to all the Worlds!"
"Me?" Irma asked in shock.
"Yes, you," Yan Lin replied. "Don't worry, we'll talk about it a lot more before it's official. For now, let's keep it between us, okay?"
Irma nodded and walked through the portal that Yan Lin created and which lead to her room, and flopped onto her bed. Boy, did she have a lot to think about!
I'm finally finished! I hope the other chapters won't take as long! Please review! Also, I really want to put in Miraculous Ladybug because I love that show, and I think Ladybug and Chat Noir need the Guardians to show them how you find and beat the crap out of villains! Please tell me how you think I should do this and what are good outfits and transformations for the Guardians if they get Miraculouses!
