So one person said to make Sasuke end up with Karin..should I?

The room fell silent, Nauto, Sakura, and Kakashi looked at the ex-lovers, friends, acquaintances, or whatever. No one knew what they actually were; it was never confirmed if they were dating or not. It wasn't a secret that Shikamaru and Temari had a thing for each other. Everyone in the village thought the two were going to end up together, that was until he announced that he was marrying Ino.

"Well, I'm happy to see that you made it here safely without any trouble."

Temari bowed mid-waist, "Thank you Hokage-sama."

Sakura stared at Shikamaru, his body language was as if he had seen a ghost. He averted his attention back towards the files that were placed on the desk. Sakura could tell that he was very much uncomfortable.

"Sakura, I messaged Suna about the situation we were dealing with Akane-" Kakashi points to Shikamaru,- "but now we must form a team to head to the Rain Village."

"I already have a teamed formed I-"

Kakashi interrupted the lazy shinobi and he turned to point at Temari who was now making herself comfortable in the room. "She will be joining you on your mission and so are a few of her shinobi."

Naruto was now confused, 'Why would he want them to come on a mission with us?' Naruto quickly raised his hand but then came to the realization that he was no longer in the academy so he didn't have to raise his hand. He began to chuckle at his childish antics, this did not go unnoticed by everyone in the room. They began to look at the blonde who was in the corner speaking to himself.

"Naruto?" Shiakamru muttered.

Sakura threw one of her books at his feet trying to gain the blonde's attention. He was so invested in his thought that he didn't realize that he was being spoken to.

"Is there something you'd like to ask Naruto?"

"Yeah, why does Suna have to come with us? I find it weird, is the situation that bad that they have to come with us?"

Naruto's question sparked thoughts around the room. Sakura also questioned the fact that Suna and Konoha are going on a mission together. She wasn't going to question the fact like Naruto but now since the question was asked she decided to go with it.

"Nice observation Naruto, For one Suna has been dealing with the Hidden Rain Village far longer than we have. Also, the medical team is having the same issues as we are if I am correct Temari. It was such a conscience that Sakura and you both brought forward the medical files to go over."

Sakura lifted her head from the documents, now she was just as confused as Naruto. "What do you mean Sensei?"

Temari quickly interfered so Kakashi wouldn't have to explain. It would be better if it came from her mouth anyway. "Garra wanted me to give you these medical forms to look over. You are the only one he actually trusts these days. I overheard your conversation about TB, similar things are also happening to us."

"May I take a look?"

Temari took a scroll from her back pouch, she handed the scroll to Sakura, watching as the rosette eagerly reached out to it.

"Maybe you three can discuss this in the library. I actually have a lot of work to do. Naruto I want you and Shikamaru back here in an hour or so."

Kakashi tossed a scroll to the blonde, he waved goodbye to his girlfriend before exiting the room. Now it was Temari, Shikamaru, and Sakura's turn to exit the room. They started to make their way to the library where Shiho resides. Sakura didn't miss the tension in the air between the two. She wanted to ask them why they were both being so awkward but she brushed it by. Now was not the time to be nosey.

Sakura was the first to enter the library. She saw the woman sitting at the computer looking over some codes. She quickly made herself known by ringing the bell so she wouldn't frighten the woman. "Shiho how have you been?"

Shiho still jumped at the sound of the bell. She turned to see the three standing around her. Her face turned red as a tomato as she saw Shikamaru hovering over her.

"Ummm, Shikamaru-kun it's nice to see you again."

Shikamaru waved to her before making his exit towards the balcony of the library. He quickly pulled out a cigarette lighting it then inhaling it deeply. This didn't go undetected by Sakura she watched as he leaned across the rails letting the smoke drift with the wind. "I thought that he quit smoking for the baby…..he must be really stressed then," she muttered to herself.

"Is there something that I could help you with Sakura-san?"

Sakura quickly stopped the blonde-haired woman, "Please don't call me san, we are all the same age Shiho." Sakura and Shiho began to chuckle lightly. "I wanted a second input on these results, I know that code-breaking is your skill but I also know that you're smart enough to help me with this."

Sakura took the files and scrolls that were given to her and placed them on the desk just like she did with Kakashi. She began to explain the situation to Temari and Shiho, they seemed to understand where Sakura was coming from. Temari on the other hand was intrigued with the situation, she didn't know how big it actually was.

"Sakura, do you think that you can come to Suna and maybe test your theory on our patients? I'm pretty sure that my little brother would love that."

Sakura politely declined, "I actually can't because my schedule is so busy right now that I think I won't be able to get over for a while."

Temari threw her a questionable look. "How long is awhile."

"Well if you want to be technical 18 years but if you want to be reasonable maybe 1-3 years," Sakura said jokingly, she knew that Naruto would never allow her to go on a mission with her carrying their baby. Sakura also promised herself that she would spend the child's first three years of life at home. She would only work at the hospital if she needed to.

"Okay." Temari didn't bother to pursue the conversation anymore. She had an idea of what the rosette was talking about but decided not to bombard her with questions. She glanced over to the window to the man she once loved. Now he was standing over the rail enjoying the clouds. The cigarette he once had was now long gone. She walked over to the door that led out to the balcony she leaned against the frame also enjoying the view.

"Is the view that good?"

He didn't bother to turn to look at her; he only kept his eyes towards the scenery. "No the view is pretty shitty, I'm just here for the weather."

"So the view is shitty just like you…..how long has it been..a year?"

She made her way towards the railing standing next to him. It has been exactly a year since they have last spoken. A year since her life has been flipped upside down by the one and only Shikamaru Nara.

"I'm sorry Temari."

"For you to be lazy you really know how to stir some drama. What did you expect me to accept that apology?"

Shikamaru huffed and turned to face her with his iconic lazy posture. His head was now pulsing not only from her talking to him but the whole situation. "I said I was sorry okay. I didn't mean to hurt you."

Temari scoffed, "Aren't you married? Shouldn't you be living a happy life instead of apologizing to me?"

"I am living a happy life, I'm apologizing because I feel bad about the situation that was no way to treat a woman that you loved."

"Well, you should have thought of that before you slept with her behind my back. The kid….he's cute. He looks just like you."

"I didn't sleep with her behind your back. You clearly said that you weren't ready to be serious with me."

"You always told me that men aren't supposed to let go of their women, It's nothing but troublesome."

Temari walked off before he could reply to her. He knew that she was still hurt by what he did. There was nothing he could do about it, it's now done and over with. If he could go back and change it he wouldn't. He knew what he did was wrong but it left him with a beautiful wife and kid. The shitty part about it was that he promised her that she would be his wife and the mother of his kids. She was playing games with his heart and he was tired of it.

"What a drag!" He pulled out another cigarette from his jacket quickly lighting it up and inhaling it deeply.

Naruto ran on the rooftops to get to his destination. This way was one of his favorites since on the road he would get attacked with questions and people wanting to take pictures. He didn't mind it but some days he wasn't in the mood and today was one of those days. He was scanning the village to look for his raven-haired friend. He stood on top of a pole before scanning the area. He finally laid eyes on his target, Sasuke and Kato were making their way out of the ice cream shop.

"Sasuke!" Naruto jumped from the pole then maneuvered throughout the crowd trying to regain his eyesight of Kato and Sasuke. He came face to face with a very annoyed Sasuke.

"What has crawled up your ass?"

"You yelling and causing attention towards me stupid."

Naruto laughed, he bent down to Kato's level ruffling his hair. "Did you miss me?"

Kato stuck his hand in his bag of chips. He never gave Naruto any type of eye contact. "Not really but if it makes you feel better then yes."

Naruto pinched his cheeks hardly. They needed to find Kato a new "babysitter" because Sasuke was not cutting it. Every day he was coming home with a new potty word as Sakura liked to call it.

"Ouch Nii-chan that freaking hurts."

Sasuke slapped him on top of the head. "What did I tell you about that word Kato? I don't feel like hearing Sakura's mouth today."

"Where are you guys heading?"

Sasuke rolled his eyes, "To the hospital but Kato was hungry so we decided to stop and grab lunch before going."

"Mind if I join," Naruto asked eagerly, he completely forgot about the real reason he was supposed to find Sasuke. He needed to tell him to report to Kakashi's office in an hour.

I wouldn't care if you didn't."

They began their journey towards the hospital. Naruto and Kato bickered most of the way there. They were debating on the best type of ramen. Kato said it was Sakura's ramen while Naruto said it was ichiraku ramen.

"I'm telling Sakura-san that you said her cooking was nasty!" Kato took off running towards the doors of the hospital thinking that Sakura was going to be there waiting for him.

"You little brat I never said such a thing! Come back here."

Naruto was hot on his tail. Sasuke on the other hand walked with his hands tucked into his pockets. He was now enjoying the peacefulness without the two kids in his way. He watched from afar as Naruto began to put the kid in the headlock. He was going to interfere but then he realized that he had no room to argue he had Kato dangling from his ankles one time.

"Dobe put the kid down before I tell Sakura that you like attacking kids."

Naruto placed him back on the ground. Kato stuck out his tongue then ran into the hospital. The trio walked to the front desk waiting for the receptionist to notice them.

"Yes, How may I help you?"

Sasuke leaned against the desk making the young woman blush in her seat. He noticed her playing with her hair and glancing at the mirror. He mentally rolled his eyes at the young girl, absolutely having no interest in her. "Sakura told me to stop by the hospital probably to get some blood drawn."

"Oh yes of course just head up to the fifth floor and they will be waiting for you."

"Thanks," he muttered, he heard the blonde snicker behind him. He quickly waved him off, and he started to grow annoyed with him. "Naruto we both know that if Sakura wasn't pregnant that I'd kill you by now."

They took the elevator to the fifth floor, the entire time Naruto was picking on Sasuke's so-called "non-existent" love life. They all got off at the fifth floor with Naruto still picking.

"That's a sorry-ass excuse Sasuke. Are you seriously mad that you don't know how to flirt with a girl? Maybe I can teach you a thing or two. I am more popular than you."

"Actually murdering doesn't sound like a bad idea. Maybe I'll raise the child as my own and teach them the Chidori instead of the Rasengan. I could picture them now with my last name." Sasuke knew he struck a nerve in the blonde's body, he could see the venom in his eyes.

Sasuke smirked. "Did I trigger the fox? My bad."

"You really went there."

They both stood in the middle of the hallway. Sasuke didn't back down to him he actually waved him over to do something about it. Kato stood in between the two looking confused. He glanced at the two as they began to walk towards each other.

"Naruto?"

Naruto turned around to see Sakura standing near the entrance of the door. He noticed that she had a hand on her growing bump caressing it slowly. "Sakura-chan!"

Immediately all of the built animosity was gone, he walked over to Sakura with the biggest grin on his face. Sakura eyed him weirdly as the big goofball walked towards her.

"What are you doing here?"

Naruto pointed back to Kato and Sasuke who were walking towards them. "I stopped by with Sasuke and Kato. How did you know I was here."

"I didn't, the baby did. It seems like it knows when you're near so the baby starts kicking me like crazy."

Sakura took his hand and placed it on her belly. He felt as their child kicks began to grow more wildly. "Yeah, it must have my genes."

Kato eyed Naruto's hand on her stomach. He watched as Sakura made weird faces as the baby kicked. "Can I feel?"

"Sure!"

Sakura took his hand and placed it near Naruto's. Kato's eyes grew wide as he felt the baby kick. He quickly removed his hand from her belly, staring at it weirdly.

"Sakura-san you ate a baby!"

They all began to laugh except for Kato. He looked at them in disgust. He placed his hand on his own stomach trying to feel a baby kick. He soon learned that nothing moved so he placed a hand on Naruto's stomach. Naruto was taken aback by the sudden contact, everyone eyed Kato as he kept his hand on Naruto's stomach. The kid then moved his hand to Sasuke's stomach. He sat there in silence before removing his hand.

"That's weird, why do you and Sakura-san have the same thing in your stomach."

"What?"

"You guys have the same thing. I can't feel it in my stomach or Sasuke-niichan stomach but I can feel it in your stomach and Naruto-niichan stomach."

Naruto's heart began to race. He watched as Kato placed his hand back on his stomach moving it around as he did. "What exactly do you feel."

"Ummm it's like a strong feeling."

"Does this happen all the time?"

"Yes but Kaa-san said that I sho-." Kato quickly stopped talking. He glanced back at the two before covering his mouth with his hand.

"Whatever it is you can tell me."

Kato shook his head, his attention was now converted to his sandals on his feet. "Kaa-san made me promise that I wouldn't."

Sakura brushed her hands through his hair. It started to become something she regularly did to help him relax. "Well, whenever you are comfortable telling me you can okay?"

"Okay, Sakura-san."

Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke all shared the same look. Naruto eyed him for a second before pulling Sakura to the side. "Sasuke why don't you take Kato to the room." Sasuke nodded before walking to the room that Sakura was in. Once the two were out of sight Naruto finally let out a shaky breath that he was holding.

Naruto placed his hands on Sakura's shoulders. "Are you thinking what I am thinking?"

"Yeah, we need to talk to Akane. There's something about him."

"Yeah, maybe you can head down there tomorrow."

"Was there anything particular that happened when you guys took them?"

Naruto thought for a second, he rummaged his memory. He thought back to the time when he first discovered Kato and Akane. He remembered when fighting one of their shinobi that he said something to them but he couldn't exactly remember what he said.

"Sakura-chan I do remember them saying something to me but I can not think what it was. Maybe we will have to ask Shikamaru or Sasuke."

"Hmmm, that's interesting, I'm going to have to keep a close eye on him. Maybe when you and Sasuke are alone you should ask him if Kato acts weirdly."

"Yeah."

"Naruto, weren't you supposed to be doing something for Kakashi sensei?"

All of the life drained out of his face. He reached into his back pocket pulling out the scroll that was given to him. He completely forgot to tell his comrades that they were needed at the Hokage's office.

"Sakura-chan I have to go but first I have to notify that bastard."

Naruto brushed past Sakura into the room. Sakura was not too far away from him; they both entered the room to see Kato laying on the bed with his pants pulled down. Yuna was preparing the needles on the other side of the room. The young nurse shot Sakura a facial expression, something that the nurse or doctor knew.

"Why do I have my pants down?"

Sakura walked over to the confused boy. She eyed Sasuke who stood nearby, it was like they could read each other's minds. Sasuke blocked the view of the needles so that Kato couldn't see them. Naruto stood by the door blocking it just in case he tried to run. Yuna placed the tray of needles by the bed by the curious child.

Sakura shot Naruto a glance, "You don't mind staying for a couple of minutes do you?"

"Nope, I can spare a few minutes."

Yuna brought all of her utensils to the bed so they could begin. "Have you ever received a shot, Kato?"

"No….does it hurt?"

Yuna chuckled, "No it feels like this." she took her hand and pinched the child. Kato only looked at her with a smile plastered on his face.

Kato giggled, "That doesn't hurt at all."

Naruto rolled his eyes, he still kept his guard by the door. He didn't dare to look at the needles, they tended to make him feel nauseous. "At least for now just wait until they stick you." He mumbled the sentence under his breath, the only one who seemed to catch his sentence was Sasuke.

"Lady Sakura would you like to do it or should I?"

"I think it best if you do it. Sasuke I want to hold his legs down and I'll hold his arms. We'll take precautions to make sure Yuna does not stick herself."

Everyone moved into the appropriate areas, Sakura sat next to Kato raising his hands above his head. Sasuke took him by the ankles and forced them together. "This is about to be hell." he thought to himself.

"Okay, Kato, we're going to prick you once on each thigh." Yuna points to each area of where she is going to prick to let Kato know where it is going to be. "Then after that we are going to draw blood from your arm."

"Okay."

Yuna started to clean the area, she then took the caps of the three needles off. She looked at Sasuke and Sakura before she started. Sakura nodded for her to go on and she did. She took the first needle into his thigh and screams erupted in the room.

Kato began to squirm as the needled broke his skin. He started to scream and thrash as the liquid entered his body. Tears began to stream down his face as Yuna took out the second needle."Hey! Owww! You said it wasn't going to hurt!."

Yuna tried to work fast as the Kato began to thrash she took the second needle and placed it in his other thigh. Another scream filled the room. "Let me go now! Let me go! I want to go!" He started to sob as he watched her reach for the third needle.

Yuna placed a bandaid on the two pricks. "One more Kato be strong for me please."

Yuna took the last and final needle and placed it on the same side. Kato's face was now red as a tomato. The tears were running down his face even faster. "Let me go now! I'm going to whoop your ass if you don't." he sobbed out.

Sakura gasped at this while Sasuke smirked. Naruto was standing at the door just as shocked as Sakura was. Yuna placed the bandaid on his leg then helped him put his pants on. They finally let him go and he ran to the corner of the room to hide.

"I don't want to be here. I want my mommy!"

Kato started to sob in the corner. Sakura was too shocked to even move, she was trying to process what he had just said. Sasuke on the other hand had to step out of the room. He found the entire situation funny, and he knew Sakura was going to have his ass.

Naruto had to fight with himself not to laugh as much as he wanted to, he knew he had to practice this for the future. He walked over to him crouching down to his level. He scooped him up into his arms allowing him to place his head on his shoulder. "Kato we don't use those words. I think you need to apologize to Yuna."

"She lied to me nii-chan."

"She also helped you so I think you need to apologize."

Kato shoved his face farther into Naruto's neck. He began to cry harder knowing that he was in trouble now. "I'm sorry."

"Eye contact please."

Kato turned to Yuna quickly saying the words."I'm sorry Yuna-san."

Yuna smiled sweetly before handing him a lollipop. "It's okay Kato you weren't the first to say a potty word but you are the first to say that you were going to whoop my ass."

Everyone began to laugh. They still had one more shot to give him and yet they didn't want to since they knew how he was going to react.

Yuna placed a new tray on the bed, It was the tray to draw blood from him. This time the needle was bigger and longer.

"Lady Sakura I think it's best if you do it this time."

Sakura quickly agreed, she walked to the sink to wash her hands and apply her gloves. Naruto still had Kato in his hands. This time it went smoother Kato did put up a fight but he did better this time. The lollipop that was actually given to him was melatonin flavored. So he should be knocked out in a couple of minutes. Naruto and Sasuke had to leave to report back to Kakashi while Sakura took Kato home so they both could take a nap. Yuna took the results to the lab to get tested.

Naruto and Sasuke made their way back to Hokage's tower. After entering the office they both saw Hinata, Shikamaru, Temari, two other Suna shinobi, and Choji standing in the middle of the room. They made their way to the middle of the room with everyone else.

"Good, now that you are all here I want to give you a run-through of the mission. I want you to bring back someone that we can integrate, I also want you to bring me back a sample of some sort so our medical team can go back over it. Also, I need you guys to find out more, anything would be good. Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru I am counting on you three to go back to Akane's house and find something that tells us more about them."

They all nodded in unison. "Hai!"

Kakashi handed Shikamaru a scroll with everything he said written on it. "Your team leader is Shikamaru. You will be leaving in an hour so pack your things and head out."

Everyone began to exit the room, Naruto was the first one to leave. He bolted down the staircase out into the main street up to the rooftops. There was someone he needed to speak to before he left on his mission. He meant to speak to this person beforehand but it slipped his mind. He ran to training ground 3 where he knew his student would be. He watched from a distance as Kohnamaru worked on his Rasengan.

"Konohamaru!"

The teen turned around to see Naruto standing in the distance. A huge grin appeared on his face as he ran towards his brother figure.

"What are you doing here Naruto-niichan?"

Naruto admired him before speaking. He noticed that now he was getting much taller and he was now growing into his features. His voice wasn't annoying anymore as it used to be but he still had his childish things about him.

"I have a mission for you."

"What really!?"

"Well you're not going out of the village and Kakashi sensei didn't assign you this mission but it's still a mission."

Konohamaru's face fell, he rolled his eyes at Naruto. "Whatever you have for me I don't want it. I bet it's stupid."

"I need you to get your act together, you are now a sensei so you need to start acting like one." Naruto smiles as he watches Kohnohamru look confused.

"I'm not a sensei. What are you talking about?"

Naruto bent down to his ear to whisper, "Sakura-chan is pregnant with our child so I'm going to need you to protect your future student while I'm gone on this mission."

He pulled his head back, shoving his hands in his pocket as he did. Naruto had a cocky smile on his face while Kohnohamaru eyes were nearly about to pop out of his head. Out of nowhere Naruto was being pulled into a bone-crushing hug.

"Congratulations nii-chan so this means that now I am a big brother! I promise to protect them both with my life."

Naruto hugged him back, they stood there for a while embracing each other. After a few minutes, Naruto waved goodbye to his student. He started to make his way back home taking the rooftops as he did. Once entering the house he noticed that it was quieter than usual. He looked on the couch to see both Sakura and Kato passed out. He walked in front of Sakura caressing her cheek softly. She woke up from her slumber to see Naruto standing in front of her.

Sakura sat up on the couch stretching every muscle in her body. She tucked Kato farther underneath the blanket so he could be more comfortable. "How was it," she asked, she was now making her way into the room so she could use the restroom.

Naruto followed behind her but instead, he was straight to the closet to pack for their mission. "It went well, I'll be gone for a few."

"You guys are going on another mission?"

Naruto laughed as he heard her scream from the bathroom. She never realized how loud she actually was. He shook his head at the thought while throwing extra clothes in his book bag.

"Yeah, we are going back but don't worry Konohamaru will be looking after you. If you want you can even go to Ino's since Shikamaru is leading the mission."

Sakura practically waddled out of the bathroom. She was showing even more since she ate half of Naruto's ramen stash. She sat on the bed watching him fiddle around with things to pack. To her surprise ramen wasn't the first thing he packed.

"Yeah, I think that would be for the best. I also don't want to sit around here by myself."

Naruto turned around to zip up his backpack. He gave Sakura a thumbs up before heading to the closet to pack her things. Sakura led him around the room picking out all of the things that she wanted to pack for Ino's. Once they were done they went into Kato's and Sasuke's room to get Kato things as well. Naruto had to carry the sleeping child all the way to the Nara household. He still couldn't walk from all of the shots he had received. He was sore all over the place. Upon arriving they rang the doorbell twice Ino came to the door opening revealing her home.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"Sakura-chan wanted to know if she could have a sleepover with you?"

Ino squealed loudly, she pulled Sakura into an embrace before dragging her into the house. "Of course we can have a sleepover! When was the last time we had a girl talk?"

Sakura giggled at Ino, they all walked into the living room where Shikamaru and Shikadai reside. Sakura ran over to the baby cooing and kissing him. He looked at her with a boring face every time she would kiss him or pinch his cheeks.

"He's such a boring baby Ino…..but in a good way."

Ino laughed, she gave Sakura a bottle so that she could feed the baby. Kato was not too far behind her staring at the child as he ate. He was always intrigued with new things that he has never seen before.

Kato pointed at the child then back at Shikamaru, "He looks like you."

Shikamaru scoffed, "I did create him."

"How?" Kato innocently asked, Ino started to nudge his rib cage for him to continue you. She loved to see him in awkward situations.

"I'll tell you when I get back from the mission okay."

Sakura and Ino both laughed, Shikamaru made his rounds to give Ino and Shikadai kisses. He gave little Kato a fist pump. Naruto did the same as well, he pulled Sakura into a short embrace and gave her three quick kisses before leaving.

Sakura waved goodbye to the two men. "Be safe out there Naruto and Shikamaru!"

Ino sat down next to Sakura as she watched her feed the child. It was an awkward silence between the two something that never happened. Ino took notice as she eyed her friend for a few seconds before finally breaking.

"What is it billboard brow?"

"I'm really craving some of your mom's soup and rice. Do you think she can make it for us? I know your dad is giving you the silent treatment but I would really like some"

Sakura smiled sweetly at Ino. "Fine but you better eat all of it if not then I'm going to whoop your ass."

"Hmm, so that's where he learned it from."

Am I the only one who adores Kato? :)
