Please enjoy. I apologize in advance for those that are Vinnie/Harley fans.
Its been a couple years since we laid Vinnie to rest on my property. I had acquired building permits to put up a couple small places on the property. Harley is still upset that she lost Vinnie, but she's also slowly healing. She helps out as much as possible with my kids. We allowed her to live in the house along with Throttle's mom. The house is 2-story house with 3 bedrooms. We put bunk beds in both upstairs bedrooms. The girls in the far-right bedroom and the kids in the left bedroom.
"It was nice of you to fulfill Harley's wishes, babe."
"She's practically family, Throttle. She's been a big help since the move."
"She wants to feel useful since Vinnie's passing. Was Charley able to salvage anything from Modo's bike?"
"Not a whole lot. Just a few microchips and the A.I. I might ask Harley what she wants done with Vinnie's bike."
"It could be sent back to Mars, but I don't think there's anyone who would be willing to come and get it. What were you thinking?"
"Maybe see if Modo would like to use it for now, although I think he would look like kinda funny on it. Especially, since he's a bigger build than Vinnie was."
"That is true. I don't think he would fit right on it. Maybe Harley will give it to Charley. She rode on it more than anyone."
"Its all up to Harley, but Vinnie's bike did respond well to Charley, so who knows."
We had been walking around the property while were talking. "Its been a long time since I was here. I was just out of high school when I joined the Marines. I had been living in Chicago for about 6 months, then back to Cali."
"Full circle, huh?"
"Looks that way. That's ok, though. I never got to enjoy all the hiking on here. Now I can and take our boys with us."
"Us?"
"Yes. I expect you to come with us, too, Throttle. I'll get ya some hiking boots and snow boots. It gets about 3' just on the property."
"I'll hike with you during the summer, but I'll pass during the winter."
"Oh come on. Don't be such a baby."
Throttle gave me 'the look.' I raised an eyebrow at him. "Really?"
"Yeah, really. I'm not fond of snow. Riding in it is a pain in the ass."
"We'll have quads for the snow. Those are fun to ride."
"They sound fun."
"They are. I use to ride one all the time, even in the snow."
"We'll look into them some time. Right now, we need to finish our walk and take care of the boys."
"Honest answer, please."
"What's the question?"
"If you hadn't of met me and asked me out, would you have gone back to Carbine?"
"I had already broken up with her long before I met you. I would have looked for a new girlfriend elsewhere in Chicago. Why you asking? You're not thinking of getting a divorce, were you?"
"Of course not. I was just asking. How many women would accept you other than Charley and I?"
"Hmm, good point. I think they would more than likely turn me in to the Government before ever dating me. I honestly thought you would have done the same thing when you first saw me."
"It did cross my mind, but once I figured out you weren't a threat, I didn't see a reason why I should. I'm glad I didn't."
"I'm glad you didn't either." Then he took my hand in his and lightly squeezed it. He looked at me and smiled. "I love you, Michelle."
I looked at him and smiled back. "I love you too, Throttle."
We finished our walk and went inside the house.
After we took our shoes and boots off in the mud room, we walked through the kitchen and into the living room. We saw Harley and Silverdawn playing with the boys. It was a cute sight to see.
"Do we really need to disturb them right now?"
"Nope. Let's go see how Charley and Modo are doing."
"Sounds good to me."
We left the house and headed out across the grass to see Charley and Modo.

We walked up to the door of their place. Throttle was about to knock, when Modo opened the door. He was about to head out for a walk, when he saw us at the door.
"Hey Modo. Charley around?"
"She's in the kitchen. Come on in, you 2." Then he moved aside so we could walk in. Modo closed the door behind us. "Thank you for building us a place on your property, Michelle."
"You're quite welcome, Modo. I'm glad that you enjoy it here. I'm glad my parents left it to me after they passed away."
"Sorry for your loss and that was nice of them to do that. It's a beautiful place and gorgeous view. What mountain is that ahead of us?"
"That's Mt. Shasta. That's just the tip of what we can see. That's why my mom liked this place."
Modo went into the kitchen to let Charley know that Throttle and I were here.
Charley had just finished making herself a sandwich and came out to see us.
"Hey guys."
"Hey Charley. How you liking it up here so far?"
"Its beautiful, Mike. I didn't know you use to live here."
"It seems like a lifetime ago I was here. After I was told that my mom and dad both past away together, I came back, dealt with everything and put just their things into storage."
"I couldn't help but notice some of the pictures hanging when we walked through the mud room. Are those of your family?"
"Yeah, they are. There's also pictures of me when I was in martial arts. My Associates degree is also hung up. I'm proud of that too."
"You've done a lot in your life. No wonder you stay so slim."
"It also helps that the boys and training the Marine recruits keeps me active. I'm just glad that the General was able to find someone to take my place to go overseas. I wasn't about to go even if he couldn't find anyone and he knew it."
"I'm glad too. I'm sure you would have been fine, but the boys and I would have missed you so much. I didn't want them to grow up without you in their lives."
I smiled at Throttle, who smiled back.
Charley cleared her throat. "So, what can we do for you 2?"
We looked at her. "Sorry. We stopped in to see how you both are doing since the move."
"We're doing good. Harley had given us a hand with putting things where we want them. We made sure not to mention Vinnie around her, too. I know its been a couple yrs., but I think its still pretty fresh on her mind."
"Its going to take a long time til she gets over his death, if she ever does. I don't expect her to jump right into the dating game again for a while, but she knows that she's always welcome to watch our boys."
I was about to say something when my phone rang. I looked to see who was calling. "Babe, your mom is calling. Why don't you take it and I'll chat some more with Charley and Modo."
I handed him my phone and he answered it.
"Hey mom. Everything ok?"
"Not really."
"Are the boys ok?"
"The boys are fine. Harley went upstairs to take a shower, but that was an hour and a half ago. The shower has since been turned off. She hasn't come out of the bathroom since. I'm worried about her. Can you come check on her, please?"
"Sure mom. I'll be right over."
After he hung up, he handed me my cell phone back.
"What was that about? Is everything ok?"
"My mom said that Harley went to take a shower and hasn't emerged from the bathroom in over a hour."
"You think she did what Vinnie did?"
"Yeah, I do. I hope she didn't though. I'll find out when I get there. I'll be right back."
"Let me know either way, ok?"
Throttle kissed my cheek. "I will beautiful."
Then he turned around and walked back to the main house.

Silverdawn was waiting outside for Throttle. After he walked up to his mom, he saw the tears running down her face. It wasn't good news.
"No. Please tell me she didn't…"
Silverdawn nodded her head yes. Throttle ran into the house, up the stairs and into the bathroom. He found Harley in the tub with her arm hanging out and blood dripping from it. He looked closer and saw that she had done more than slice her wrists. She had sliced her neck all the way and it was deep.
"Oh Harley-girl. Why didn't you ask for help? We were all here to help you. Rest in peace, Harley-girl."
Throttle went downstairs and called Modo. He was hoping that Charley or I didn't answer the phone.
"Hello?"
Throttle wasn't happy that Charley had answered.
"Hey Charley-girl. Can you put Modo on the phone, please?"
"Sure Throttle. Everything ok?"
"Yeah, I just need to talk with Modo."
"Alright. Give me a few to get him."
"Ok." Then he waited for Modo to get on the phone.
A few mins. later, Modo picked up the phone.
"What's up, bro? Charley said you wanted to talk to me."
"Harley committed suicide, Modo. Don't tell the girls. At least not yet."
"No problem. Do you need some help?"
"Yeah, I do. I think the loss of both Vinnie and her daughter pushed her over the edge."
"I'll be over shortly to give you a hand."
"Ok, thanks Modo."
Then Throttle hung up and waited for Modo to come over and help get Harley out of the tub and on the floor.
