The weekend comes and goes and its now Monday. I had spent most of the weekend sleeping. I had no energy due to being pregnant. My boys spent some time with me when I was awake.

Both Throttle and I sat the boys down and explained what was going on and why I was living in Chicago and was only coming to see them on the weekends. Tony got up and ran upstairs, crying. He knew it was his fault that his father and I were separated. I looked upstairs and shook my head. Then I looked to Throttle. He saw the tears streaming down my face.

"We've already gone through this, babe. I've already talked to him and he's apologized."

I wiped my eyes with my sleeve. "I know, but he still feels bad for what he said. Go talk to him, Throttle. Reassure him that we're going to work this out."

Tyrone looked at me. "You and dad are going to work your problems out?"

I looked at Tyrone. "Yes, we are, Ty. Your father and I started talking about it and we've decided to get some help. We don't want to see you boys pick who you want to live with if we were to get divorced. It wouldn't be right."

"I want you and dad to stay together, so I'm gad you've decided to get some help."

"You're being rather mature for your age, Ty. You definitely have your father's level head."

"And Tony is a lot like you, mom. In a good way, of course."

"Yeah, he is a lot like me. Hard headed and a short fuse temper."

"I don't know about that, babe."

I looked at Throttle. He didn't like the look I was giving him. "Ok, ok. I get it. I'll go talk to Tony."

Both Tyrone and I watched Throttle walk up the stairs and to the boys' room.

"Go easy on dad, mom. Its not his fault this is happening."

"I know, Ty."

"You ok, mom?"

"Not really. I have a sinking feeling about something."

"Want me to get dad?"

"Yeah. Tell him to come outside. I don't need everyone upset." Then I got up from the sofa and headed outside.

Silverdawn stopped me as I was walking through the kitchen.

"Is everything ok between you and Throttle?"

"Yeah. I just have this nagging feeling that something is wrong in Chicago. I don't want to worry you or the boys with this. Throttle and I will get this figured out."

"Ok, sweetie. I'm glad you 2 are talking. He was very close to signing the divorce papers after he came back here."

"In a way, I'm glad he didn't. I'm saying this cause we plan to see a marriage counselor. He wants this marriage to work."

"You're still not sure if you do, though, right?"

I nodded. "Well, I hope seeing a marriage counselor will help you both."

"That's the plan."

Throttle saw me standing in the kitchen with his mom and walked up to us.

"Ty said you wanted to talk to me, babe. Everything ok?"

"You and I need to talk outside so we don't upset the boys or your mom."

"Ok. Let's go."

Throttle and I went for a walk around the property. I told him about the weird feeling I was having.

"Are you sure? It could just be your hormones out of whack again."

"No, this is not my hormones out of whack. Something is going down in Chicago and I can feel it. I should have dismembered his body and thrown all the pieces in the river and the dumps."

"You really think someone would have his body and bring him back from the dead?"

"Anything is possible with today's tech. The things they're doing with cryogenics these days. Freezing people for scientific use."

"Let's hope you're wrong and his body isn't being turned to a cyborg of some kind."

"I can call Rimfire and see if he's heard anything."

"That would be a good idea. I don't want to go through this again. If he is brought back in some way and comes after me, he'll come after the boys and my mom, too. He'll probably try to kill us and I know that will push you over the edge and since you're pregnant, I don't want you losing the baby."

"And I don't want you going alone."

"I'll take Modo with me."

"No. He might kill him, too. Can you even imagine what Rimfire would do then?"

Throttle thought about that, then realized what Rimfire would do.

"You're right. What do we do, then?"

"I can get a hold of the General at Camp Pendleton and see if he can spare some Marines that have already gone through my training."

"How about we just drive there instead?"

"Are you going to let me drive?"

"No. I didn't like that you were on a motorcycle while pregnant, but there was nothing I could do about that. I'm just glad that Modo was careful getting here."

Somewhere in Chicago. 2 deranged Drs. had cryogenically frozen the dead body of Tredz Thornboy 4 yrs. prior. They were defrosting him so they could bring him back to life, repair his broken neck and replace most of him with cybernetics.

It took these Drs. quite a while to rebuild him how they wanted and ran test after test to make sure that everything was working properly.

Dr. Wally Pretorious had employed the former employee of Lawrence Limburger, Dr. Benjamin Boris Karbunkle.

"How are we going to bring him back, Dr. Karbunkle?"

"My mobility juice. My former employer, Limburger, had me make it and bring the 1920's gangsters back from the dead. It was a success, I might add."

"Well, if it brings back Capone and Segal, then it should work here. Let's do it."

"Let's get to work on giving him a cybernetic body that won't be so easy to destroy. Something like Plutarkian glass steel. Those miscreant mice can't break that no matter how much they try."

"Excellent idea, Dr. Karbunkle. I knew we would make a great team."

They started cutting open Tredz's body and took out all the bones and replaced them with Plutarkian Glass steel rods. They worked on him for 36hrs. straight. They wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

During the operation, Pretorious suggested they coat the rods with adamantium so he will heal quick. Karbunkle agreed and both dipped the rods in the adamantium before placing them inside the body of Tredz.

Karbunkle had a feeling that after this was done, Pretorious was going to terminate their allegiance together. He was ok with that cause he had other engagements to deal with after this.

By the 48hr. mark, they had finished putting new Plutarkian glass steel rods coated with adamantium inside the body of Tredz. Both deranged Drs. couldn't wait 'til he was unleashed on the other Martian Mice. But what they didn't know was that most of them aren't in Chicago any more. Some were, but the rest were in California and Nevada.

Tredz woke up and was blinded by the bright lights. He looked around and saw Karbunkle and another weirdo that he didn't know.

"Where am I?"

"You are in my lab, mouse. I am Dr. Pretorious. Dr. Karbunkle I assume you know."

"Yes, I know Karbunkle. He experimented on the Freedom Fighters back on Mars."

"What is the last thing you remember?"

"I remember dying at the hands of my son's freak wife."

"What is your new objective?"

"To get my revenge and take my family back to Mars."

After he said that, he knew that didn't sound like him at all.

"What did you do to me?"

"We turned you into a cybernetic android. After you achieve your objective, you are free to do what you want. Until then, you are to do as we say."

"And if I chose not to?"

"Then you die. Plain and simple."

"Ok. I get it. As long as I get to take my family back to Mars and get rid of that freak and her freak children, I'm fine with this arrangement….for now."

"Good. We also built you a motorcycle so you can hunt them down. They are scattered all over the U.S. Some here, some in Nevada and the rest in California."

"I don't care about the others in Nevada and here. I just want my family."

"Ah, then you want to go to California."

Tredz nodded, then grabbed some clothes. He got dressed and got on his bike. He left for California immediately.

Scottsville, CA. Throttle and I were spending time with the boys at the park. We were trying not to worry the boys about the feeling I had, but we both knew it was a matter of time 'til HE showed up to exact his revenge.

The boys didn't need to know that their grandfather tried to kill their parents before they were born. It would scare them and scar them, too.

While the 4 of us were at the park, Modo came riding up. He parked his bike and took his helmet off. He hung it on his handlebar and walked up to us. The boys saw Modo and ran up to him.

"Uncle Modo!"

Modo stooped down to their level and held out his arms wide. They ran into his arms and he hugged them.

"Hello boys. Having fun?"

"Yes, we are. We'll have more fun now that you're here, uncle Modo."

"Maybe after I talk to your parents, Anthony. Ok?"

Both boys' shoulders sank. "Ok."

Modo had ruffled Tony's hair a bit and Tyrone laughed at his brother. Modo stood up and walked over to Throttle and I. He sat down next to us.

"Tony, Tyrone. Go play while the adults talk."

"Ok mom. We love you."

I smiled. "I love you too, boys. Go play now and be careful. No rough housing."

"Ok mom."

While the boys were playing on the playground, the 3 of us talked.

"What's up, Modo?"

"We have a problem."

"What kind of problem?"

"Carbine called. She swore she saw Tredz on his way to California."

I had been sipping on water and nearly choked when he mentioned Tredz.

"What!? He's supposed to be dead."

"Maybe what you told me earlier today is true."

Modo looked at me strangely. "What?"

"What exactly did you 3 talk about?"

"I had told Throttle that I had a feeling that someone may have brought Tredz back to life."

"How?"

"Cryogenics. People are being put in it so they can come back 100 yrs. or more later and live in the future. Its not something I want done to me, but science has come along way since the 50's."

Throttle grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Maybe we should get everyone out of here before he shows up, babe. Who knows what he could do this time around."

"That is a scary thought, Throttle. I don't wanna think about what he could do to you, or anyone of us. But I'm also worried about the boys. What if he goes after them first?"

Throttle reached over the table with his other hand and lifted my head up by the chin.

"He won't go after the boys first. I won't let him."

"And I won't let you get killed, Throttle. I could never live with myself for letting you do that."

"And I can't let you do it alone."

"I won't be alone. I'll have Nosedive with me."

"No. All of us are getting the hell out of here before he arrives. This family is staying together."

Just then, my cell phone rang. I took it out of the holder to see who was calling. It was Charley calling. I answered it.

"Hey Charley. What's up?"

"There's someone trying to break down the door, Mike. Looks like…Tredz."

I almost dropped the phone at that point. My worst fear has come true. Throttle grabbed my cell phone before I did drop it.

"What's going on over there, Charley?"

"Tredz is back, Throttle. Marcus and Nosedive are trying to keep him out but the doors aren't going to hold out much longer."

I had gotten up and walked over to my boys and hugged them tightly. I knew what was going to happen.

Modo got up and walked over to the boys and I. He put his hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him with tears flowing heavily down my face.

Tony couldn't help but notice and got worried. Tyrone, too.

"Mom, what's going on? Why are you crying? Did we do something wrong?"

I couldn't speak cause I was crying so much. So, Modo told them for me.

"Your mom is worried that your grandfather is going to take you away and give you to someone else."

"Why?"

"Your mother use to be Human, Anthony. If you boys had been born Human instead of Martian, then your grandfather would have gotten rid of you."

"Just cause mom would have been Human and dad Martian? But we didn't do anything wrong?"

Modo smiled. "I know you didn't, Tyrone. Its part of your father's heritage. Half breed children are given away. Your grandmother didn't believe in that."

I finally managed to calm down enough to continue.

"Your grandfather is not a very nice guy, boys. He's tried to kill your father and I more than once. I went after your father when he was forced to go back to Mars. Tredz shot me and I almost lost my life…and you boys. I was pregnant with you boys when I went after your father. Tredz has no rights to either of you."

Throttle walked up to us. He put his hand on Modo's shoulder and nodded towards the table.

Modo stood up and walked with Throttle.

"What?"

"I want you to take the boys in the SUV and get as far away from here as possible. I don't want Tredz anywhere near them."

"And what about you and Michelle? You 2 aren't thinking about going after him, are you?"

"Yes, we are. There's nothing I can say to her without her wanting to go after him again, so, I'm going to help her."

"And if Tredz makes you go back to Mars again?"

"Then I want you and everyone there to help Michelle with the boys. I don't want her coming after me. Don't get me wrong, Modo, I love her dearly, but I don't want to see her get killed. I almost lost her once when she was shot. Just make sure to help her with everything."

"Throttle, don't think like that. That severed connection alone is going to kill her and your boys."

"That's why I want you and Charley to make sure she's kept occupied."

"Are you sure you wanna do this? It could mean that you will never see Michelle and your boys ever again."

Throttle looked down, sighed then looked back up at Modo.

"I know, Modo. Michelle looks to you like a big brother. Make sure she's safe. And please, please make sure my boys are safe. Even if I may never see them again, I know they'll always be in my heart."

Modo looked towards the boys and I, then back to Throttle. "Alright bro. I'll keep them safe for you. They're family. If anything, I'll move everyone to Nevada where Carbine and Morgan are."

"No. Move them further. And not back to Chicago. Move them to New York state."

"Ok bro. Let's hope none of this actually happens."

Before Throttle said anything more, my cell phone rang again. Charley was calling again.

"Yeah Charley."

"Tredz made it through both garage doors. He took Silverdawn and shoved her in the Lamborghini and is heading your way."

"Fuck! Alright Charley. Are you ok?"

"Yeah. He left me alone along with Marcus, Krystal and Nosedive. He just wanted Silverdawn. I'm sorry, Throttle. I had to tell him where you guys were."

"I understand, Charley. I'm not mad at you. I'm pissed at the bastard that took my mother."

"All of you need to get out of there."

"I'm going to send Modo and the boys back to the house and get all of you out of there and some where safe for now. Michelle and I are going after him."

"Are you crazy, Throttle?! She's pregnant!"

"I know she is, but I also know she won't sit by and watch our family get killed."

"Just be careful then, you big lug."

"We will, Charley. I promise." Then he hung up.

Throttle dug out the keys to the SUV, then gave them to Modo. He turned towards his family.

"Hey boys. Uncle Modo is going to take you for a cross country road trip with your aunt Charley. Your mom and I have some things to take care of then we'll be on the road with you."

Both boys ran to Modo and gave him a big hug then turned to their father and gave him a big hug, too.

"Be safe, dad. Keep mom safe, too."

"We'll be safe, Tony. I promise. Go get in the car and buckle up."

After they got in the car, I walked up to Throttle and Modo.

"What's going on, Throttle? Why is Modo taking the boys?"

"You and I are going after Tredz. Before you say anything, hear me out."

I nodded and let him finish. "I know that nothing I say to you will make you stop from going after him, so I've decided to have Modo take the boys as far away from here as possible. Then when I know its safe, you and I are going to finish what was started."

I couldn't decide to either walk away or scream in his face. I was pissed. I knew what would happen.

"Are you fuckin' nuts!? Do you know what is going to happen?"

"I know exactly what's going to happen. He's gonna make me go back to Mars with my mom. I already told Modo this. I don't want you to come after me. I almost lost you once, babe. I'm not gonna lose you again."

"I…I can't let you just leave. Not like this. The boys need you. I need you."

Throttle put one hand on my shoulder and the other under my chin and lifted it up. "Everyone is going to help you to take care of the boys. I'll always be with you in here." He put his right hand over my heart. I leaned over and hugged him tightly. I didn't want him to leave me at all. Even if everything was all taken care of ahead of time.

He understood all the emotions that was going through me. He knew it was going to hurt me and the boys.
