Hec and Issy stand up straighter, meeting his stare with their own. Captain smirks, nodding. "Well then. Lets get started, shall we?"
Hours turned to days, and days soon turned into weeks. Issy and Hector – or Cutie Pie, the nickname Rainbow had hilariously given him – were now into their third, nearly forth, week of training. It really was like initiation all over again just more intense and minus the fear sims. Every morning they met the rest of the squad in the garage at ten to six in the morning before they all went for a run around the compound outside and into the streets of Chicago for an hour. With Hec being a Dauntless born, he was already familiar with the land around the compound but Issy used this chance to catch up, logging everything into her mind for later use.
During the first week after their morning run, they would make their way up to the rooftops to the gun range. First they started on using the hand gun they that had been registered to their name, similar to the one they used during initiation but it felt heavier, cold and more real. Not a gun used simply for initiates to get their heads around but one that took take lives and defend them. Her fingers had curled around it confidently and ready. Rainbow had led them through still targets and moving targets with the hand gun, in a number of stances and in different weather conditions. Often the other members of the squad added their thoughts but left Rainbow to teach as she was in charge of the squad's extra firearms as well as the medic.
It was a particularly sunny day on the rooftops when they were joined by another squad who took a range close to their left. Captain had groaned softly as he shut his eyes for a moment before reopening them and openly ignoring the other squad. By the lewd looks herself and Rainbow received, Issy guessed this was one of the squad that Dec had warned her about. They made snarky remarks as Rainbow tried to teach Cutie Pie and Issy. Issy's teeth gritted together as Cutie Pie stood to take his shots but one look from Captain and she stopped herself from calling them out as the pretended to shoot. Once Cutie Pie was finished it was Issy's turn to step up and the other captain snorted none too quietly.
"I bet her shots are shit as fuck." He had said to someone behind him with a grin as she got into stance.
She heard someone sigh behind her as her head slowly turns to the man that spoke, smiling a smile that would have her brothers taking back whatever they had said. The man flinched as her eyes turned golden. Without saying a word, she raise her arm towards the target without looking and shoots her rounds. From behind her someone laughs as the man gasps and his fellow squaddies' jaws drop. She smirks, her head slowly turning to the target. All five of her shots are littered around the ring around the bullseye, one just brushing the edge of it. "Yeah, you're right." She agreed with mock disappointment. "They're pretty shit. None of them hit the center." She had pouted at the man before moving over to a table to their left. Her golden eyes never left theirs as she dismantled her gun without looking at it once.
"Issy," Captain had warned lightly but she could hear his amusement in his voice. "Stop freaking them out with your eyes."
She glanced over at him with a cheeky smile on her face as her eyes shifted back to blue. "Spoilsport."
When both trainees could hit bullseye with a minimum amount of bullets, Rainbow moved them onto training with their rifle. They were taught how to look after their rifle and how to clean it properly until they could do it with their eyes closed. Again, Rainbow went through still targets and moving targets with them in different stances and in all types of weather conditions. They ended the first week with a simple competition between the squad that was only meant to be a bit of fun but quickly turned into something serious when Rainbow and Cutie Pie kept on drawing and Captain finished it off as a draw.
This time after their run, as they started the second week their days were split into two. Around quarter past seven, when they got back from having a quick breakfast in the cafeteria, Red taught them how to fight with knives and other bladed weapons, with the occasional knife throwing competition – which Issy loved – until lunch. After lunch and 'til six they fought normally, increasing their knowledge of moves and holds until they could hold their own in a fight against Bulldozer, who didn't look like it, but was very fast on his feet. Both managed to hold their own in their fights. Cutie Pie managed to kick BD in his head, effectively knocking him out but Issy's fight dragged and finally knocked him out with an uppercut. It was sloppy and Issy cursed herself for it as BD explained what she could have done better.
It was in their third week when Cutie Pie and Issy were trained separately. Billy took Cutie Pie under his wing to train him as a scout whereas Issy was taught by Captain how to track something from people to animals. The trainees were also tasked with learning the map on the wall in the common room until they knew it like the back of their hand. Some of the days, the squad had set up a fake trial in the wilderness a few miles away from the compound but still within Dauntless' boundaries for Issy to track. Sometimes Captain would have Cutie Pie practice his own new skills be scout out a new trail to try and confuse Issy. During this exercise they carried the guns used in Capture The Flag and make a war out of it. Many nights they would come into the cafeteria covered in mud, leaves, twigs and paint, laughing with each other.
Since training had started, Issy had felt a change within her, like she was more comfortable with who she has become. On one of her days off she had joined Hec – who refused to be called Cutie Pie outside of work – as he went to the weapons shop in the Pit. Issy had bought a few extra handguns and ammo to place in hidden compartment in her flat, along with six sets of throwing knives that had five knives within a set. The look she had received from Hec had made her crack up but he had no room to talk with his five new guns. Afterwards Issy had bought several more sets of clothing from the store that Christina runs that specializes in clothing with inbuilt holsters and sheaths which ranged from uniforms to casual clothes like jeans and sweaters, and even dresses and skirts. Now, whenever she wasn't in her training gear, Issy wore jeans or leggings with her gun strapped to her right thigh and a hoodie or jumper with at least ten knives hidden on her person, two of which were in her boots. Even her brothers and her friends had noticed a change in her. Four called it arrogance. Declan called it confidence. Issy thought it could be a bit of both.
Throughout those weeks, Issy hardly saw any of her other friends unless it was a meal times or at weekends, and even then sometimes they missed each other. With nearly all of them still training for their new jobs they were just so busy but, now three weeks in, all of them had a phone or a tablet so they all messaged each other daily and they even made their own group chat of just their initiation. They were all also added to the group chat that all their other friends were in. To make shit easier when taking about the group chats Luke had named theirs Initiation Goals whereas Zeke had named the bigger chat Family Goals. If she didn't see her brothers during the day then she was bound to see them when they came over to her flat every other night.
Just like Alec had said, they began to fill the corkboard up with memories. Uri had taken to the idea just as much as the others had and had begun to add their own pictures to the board. It got to the point where it was getting too full and Issy had taken it down, only to make the whole wall into a corkboard. She had enlisted whoever was off to re-pin the pictures back on. Issy had framed the photo of those in her initiation before the final cuts and placed it smack bang in the middle.
During her free time if Issy wasn't with her friends she was working on her bike. She had already replaced most of the pipes and once she knew it had fit together perfectly and worked, she had taken it all apart and spray painted the bike a matt gun metal grey. The tank of the bike was painted a lighter grey, having had an idea that she had loved and on the petrol tank she had etched the Dauntless symbol It was during her second week when she had gone to Christina with measurements for her seat, several sheaths and two satchel bags to attach to the back of the bike. A few days later Christina had finished Issy's order and Issy had payed with a large tip as anther payment when Christina helped Issy replace the seat and the satchels to the back. The smaller sheaths were placed around the bike and Issy secured at least half of the knives she had bought in them. All of what Issy had ordered was leather in the same dark grey as the rest of the bike with red stitching. On the plate at the front of the bike where the headlight is there are two lights that fill up half of it vertically and then on the other side are the numbers of the patrol squad '226' in thick white block numbers. Somehow, Alec had managed to find two helmets in one of the storage cupboards in his department. He and Hugo had spray painted the helmets the same colour as her bike and wired a radio into the helmet. When Issy put one of the helmets on, where her right temple would be are two buttons, one below the other and a third button on her left, along her jaw which allows the visor to slide up. The top button that had a small lump on it would connect her to the squad's radio and the bottom button would connect her to the radio within the other helmet.
Today was Issy's day off, tomorrow she started her forth and final week of training and she was sat in the S.W.A.L.T room, leaning over the tank for her bike with her headphones on. That morning, Issy had drawn a design in her sketchbook that she wants covering her tank and she was just in the process of finishing it off. She had gotten Vincent (or Vinny as Steve calls him), a fellow patrol member who had a small project of his own, to help her at the start and was sat at the station next to her. From the corner of her eye she could see Vinny talking to some others around them and it was a moment before she felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked up with a smile to Vinny who tapped her headphones and motioned to take them off.
"What's up Vinny?" She said when she had pulled them off.
"Uh," He ran a hand through his dark hair as he glanced back to the others that motioned for him to carry on. "Do ya reckon ya could make your music louder?" She smiled as he blushed a little and looked back again. It was weird seeing such a large man appear so shy. "It's just that we can hear your music and, uh –"
"We like what you're listening to basically!" Another person shouts over Vinny.
"You want me to make louder?" Issy says and laughs as numerous voices shout their agreements. She shakes her head as she pauses her music as she pulls out cord from her phone. Issy turns up her volume to the max and places it on top of her station. She looks up just as she presses play and cheers erupt. She laughs again and turns back to her work. A song and a half later Issy had finished her design. On each side of the tank are black wolves running up from the bottom towards the handles with blazing red eyes like flickering flames, like those in her fear sim.
Issy smiles as a new song starts and she notices several other people smile also. Without looking at her phone she knows exactly what its called and every word. She begins to hum lightly, grinning as the guy that shouted out over Vinny begins to hum with her.
Today we live, today we breathe, today we know that we are strong when we are weak. Today we trust, we overcome. Take every chain that kept us slaves and throw em' off. We're not waiting for permission, we defy our inhibition. Like our middle name is 'Fearless'. Unafraid!
Her head perks up, feeling the song inspire her to do better, to live without giving a fuck. Others around her seemed to get that feeling also as their backs straightened and a look of pride flood through their features. Heads begin to bob along with the tune and boots begin to tap. Issy watches as nine people – including herself – connect on a whole different level just because of a song and what the words mean to them.
If we're gonna fly, we fly like eagles, arms out wide. If we're gonna fear, we fear no evil, we will rise. By your power, we will go. By your spirit, we are bold. If we're gonna stand, we stand like giants. If we're gonna walk, we walk like lions. We walk as lions.
She laughs silently to herself when she spots Harrison, Max and Captain freeze a few strides into the room with Declan and Eric. She smirks at Captain's smug smirk as he catches the last word and she puts a finger over her lips to keep them quiet. The others in the room have yet to notice the new comers and are tapping in some way to the song.
Today is ours, it's always been. Before we face the fight, We know who's gonna win. We live by faith and not by sight. We don't want safe and quiet. We don't want to run and hide.
Declan and the other Leaders have their own smug smirks all over their faces as they understand the words. Issy starts to mouth the lyrics to her Leaders, her captain and her brother, making the smirks shift into grins.
This is not an intermission. It's our time, not gonna miss it. You've already called us fearless. Unafraid! If we're gonna fly, we fly like eagles, arms out wide. If we're gonna fear, we fear no evil, we will rise. By your power, we will go. By your spirit, we are bold.
Slowly, some of them start to whisper the lyrics, sharing secret smiles with each other when they catch another doing the same and laughing out when they do.
If we're gonna stand, we stand like giants. If we're gonna walk, we walk as lion. We walk as lions.
Her eyes light up with joy as the guys around her suddenly start singing loudly, laughing and smiling. She looks back to the Leaders grinning brightly as those who don't sing, start to make the beat with the objects around them.
"Oh! Everywhere we go! The battle has been won, we know you've gone before us. So, we take it hard in faith with every step we take, we know we'll rise victorious."
The guy that had shouted over Vinny motions at Issy with a wide grin and she shakes her head shyly. "C'mon Golden Eyes! You know you want to!" She laughs in response, shaking her head as she looks to her brother for help. He simply smirks, putting his hands up in response as the others grin at the scene before them. Finding no help from her brother, her shoulders slump dramatically and her grin starts to widen as they prepare for the next verse.
"If we're gonna fly, we fly like eagles," Fists pump the air as Issy's voice joins in. "Arms out wide. If we're gonna fear, we fear no evil, we will rise. By your power, we will go. By your spirit, we are bold.
If we're gonna stand, we stand like giants. If we're gonna walk, we walk as lions. We walk as lions."
As soon as the song finishes, people start clapping and cheering. Max smiles at her fondly before following after Harrison and Captain to the weapons room. As she catches Eric's eye he winks at her and she blushes, remembering the night or so before stage two started when he said she should sing more. Her blush deepens at the memory and she clears her throat. Issy shifts unsurely in her seat. This is the first time in three weeks she been in the same room as Eric for more than five minutes excluding meal times. Yes, she's seen him in passing or she's been training and hasn't noticed him until the very last moment or even when Eric's been attached to Declan's side (and vice versa) when all of her siblings have just been mucking about when they were off but she still doesn't know what to make of their situation. She tries to push the thought away as Declan walks over to her.
Declan comes to stand by her left, checking her bike out before glancing down at her. "You're still blushing."
"Shut up." She hisses and he laughs joyfully. From over his shoulder she sees Eric push himself off of the wall he was leaning on and walk in their direction.
"You're still –"
"Declan! I swear I will castrate you!"
Eric comes to a stop next to Declan and smirks. "Now children, behave."
"Be hive." She snarks back defiantly but her eyes are laughing and Dec snickers into his hand.
Eric looks around to see if anyone was watching them before turning around and sticking his tongue out childishly at her. Issy barks out a loud laugh, turning a few heads in their direction and Dec smacks his hand over her mouth to silence her. Although, it didn't do much to quieten the sound. In retaliation, Issy ran her tongue over her brother's hand and he snatches his hand away, disgusted.
"ISSY!" He shouts, wiping his hand on his trouser leg as Issy starts to giggle. "That is gross!" She sticks her tongue out. Dec's eyes widen subtly as he focuses on her newish stud. This one had FUCK YOU in grey, on a red background. "For the love of Hugo's health, do not show that to him." Issy laughs again.
"So what brings you down here?" Issy leans back, looking between them and lingering on her brother. "Aren't you meant to be working?"
"Yeah. I was." Dec looks at Issy through narrowed eyes, making Issy lean back cautiously. "But dinners finished now and I don't remember seeing you at lunch."
Issy rolls her eyes, turning her head to the side to watch Vinny skip a song before he wander back to his station. She slowly looks back to Declan when his foot begins to tap against the floor. 'Ever the overprotective brother.' She thinks with a sigh. "You didn't see me at lunch 'cause I was out with the squad training. I'll get something after I've finished this." She motions to her bike. Vinny had said there was a few steps to do after finishing her design.
"No you won't."
"I will! I'll go when I'm hungry."
"You won't." He repeats. He points to her bike with a scoff. "You'll do whatever you need to do to finish that and then you'll go: 'oh I'll just do this while I remember' and then you'll just carry on and on, totally forgetting about food until someone kicks you outta here. Then you'll probably be too tired to do anything but nothing." Issy opens her mouth to argue to he cuts her off, jabbing his pointer finger in her shoulder several times. "Don't even start. I have known you all of your life Issy. Yes, fair enough, I missed six years of it but you haven't changed much. I don't care if you call me a mother hen or what, we're gonna go get food and you are coming with me."
Issy opens her mouth again but is cut off once more when Declan surges forward and grabs her phone, turning off her music. Heads snap up from their stations or projects and they start to complain. Before Issy can even react, Declan is out of the door. She hesitates, looking from the door to her bike when Vinny quickly steps up to her left.
"Its alright, I'll sort this. Go!"
Needing no further encouragement, Issy sprints past a smirking Eric and out of the room and out of the garage. She halts to a stop in front of the door, looking down to the end of each corridor until she spots Declan at the very end of the corridor to her left. He grinned at her, fiddling with her phone in her fingers and took off again as Issy ran after him. Declan lead her through all of the back corridors around the compound until he burst through the back end of the Pit with Issy not that far behind him. The distance between her and her brother began to widen when she had to push her way through the crowds. It wasn't long until they ran out the other end of the Pit and down a corridor Flare had led her down after initiation. Issy had began to catch up when Dec ran into the training room Flare had shown her. She followed after him, slowing down when he stood on a mat to the centre of the room. Issy was aware most of her friends from initiation were in the room, including Kayden and Sam who had just finished their training on the fence. She walked up to the edge of the mat and cocked her head at Declan.
"You said you weren't hungry yet," He crouches down a slides his gun and her phone across the ground away from the mat and turns back to her. A feral grin transforms his face as he gets into a fighting stance. "So lets work up an appetite, shall we?"
Issy rolls her shoulders at the silent challenge he's just layed out in front of her. Since being in Dauntless she's always wanted to have ago at her brothers but now one of them stands in front of her, she's a bit wary. Firstly, Dec has six years of experience over her; that's something she cannot forget and she's never seen him fight. Although he is rather bulky, not as bulky as Eric or Bulldozer, but still bulky enough that it might slow him down. If she wants to win she'll have to be fast and smart about it. She looks him over again, noticing he hasn't taken off his boots nor has he unarmed himself of his knives she knows are tucked into his clothes. 'Fuck it.' She thinks to herself, shaking her head. 'Fuck me.' She reprimands herself as she unclips her gun and places it on a near by table, glancing up momentarily to Four, who with a few others she hadn't realised were in here, was shaking his head, quite obviously mouthing no. She breathes deeply as she steps onto the mat opposite her brother and rolls her shoulders again before getting into her stance.
Josh steps up onto the mat in the middle of them, looking between them with a serious expression on his face before speaking and sounding like he's had a lot of practice judging fights. "You both know the rules by now. No conceding. No stepping off this mat. If you decide to use the knives I know you both have on you, you'll fight until first blood. 'Til then you'll fight until one of you is unable to continue." Josh steps off the mat and sighs. "Fight!"
Before Josh has even finished his sentence, Issy surges forward and punches him squarely in the face before bouncing away out of his reach. Dec staggers back a step before he charges, his arm swinging at her and she ducks under his arm, her elbow connecting with his jaw and once again she gets out of his reach. He turns to her slowly with a snarl on his face and she motions him forward, taunting him cockily. Taking the bait, he charges forward once more. When he gets close enough she sidesteps out of the way, delivering a quick jab to his ribs and punching at his back. Quicker than Issy had expected, he turns again and punches her straight in the jaw. Shocked, she staggers back and shakes it away.
They throw hits at each other for a while longer, swapping bruises Issy knows will hurt in the morning when suddenly Declan catches a wooden pole. Issy's golden-blue eyes widen as her brother holds it with both hands close to the middle, holding it horizontally in front of him. His hands start to twist in opposite directions until it separates into two. He holds one half in front of him and the other by his side. Declan watches her for a moment before charging forward with a roar, his arms swinging. Issy does her best to block his hits but its like fighting two people at once: as soon as she turns to block a hit on one side, another hit appears on her other side. She pushes him away and as he goes, he brings the poles back together, twisting them back into one. 'He's too close.' Issy realises. She reaches to the top of her left thigh and grips the handles of three knives between her knuckles, throwing them in his direction as she rolls away. The knives lodge themselves into his pole as he rose it to block them. Her mind begins to panic, trying to find a way out of this fight while Dec takes the knives out and throws them to the floor, away from the mat. Her mind begins to cloud over with panic that much that she doesn't see Declan throw the pole in the air and kick it in her direction. The pole comes at her a such a force that it leaves a cut from above the corner of her lip to just below her ear. The force sends her back, rolling against the ground and her eyes snap shut. She can hear a few hisses and when she reopens her eyes she sees Declan's back to her. 'Unable to continue Josh said.' Her gold in her eyes flares and takes over the blue in pain and in anger. 'I am not unable.' She grabs the pole that landed beside her and sprints silently to her brother, throwing herself up in the air as he turns and wraps her legs around his neck. She hooks the pole under his chin and uses the momentum of being in mid swing and her upper body weight to throw them both back to the ground. Her vision blur as her head hits the ground with a painful smack and she winces as his head slams into her ribs. His nails latch onto her thighs as they tighten. He grunts, sitting slightly up before slamming them back. She gasps as pain shoots through her body. He does it again before her hold can tighten even more and a crack sounds out.
"Never turn your back on the enemy," She hisses as he gasps for air. "You should know that by now Dec." Through her thighs Issy feels the fight leave him as he falls unconscious. When she's sure he is positively unconscious rather than playing a trick, she throws the pole away and her breath hitches as she pulls herself away, pain radiating from her ribs as her head hits the mat. "That was different." She says sarcastically and suddenly the room starts clapping. Her head turns to see all of her friends, including her squad, clapping. Max watches her critically with a twinkle in his eyes and the corner of his lip curled up. He stood in between Eric and Harrison, who shared a glance behind Max's back. Bree appeared by her side and slowly eased her up to a sitting position. People that she didn't even know came up her and congratulated her as Hugo went to Dec's side and not too gently slapped him awake.
"Damn girl!" Rainbow shouts, coming to crouch to her side. "That was fierce!"
"I have lost once," Issy holds up a finger. "Once, since coming to Dauntless. I refuse to lose again." Rainbow just smiles widely down at her, looking over her shoulder as Captain walks closer.
"Spoken like a Dauntless." He says proudly.
Issy grinned, as she leaned on Bree as she stood. Her sister murmured something about creams and she left once she was sure Issy was okay standing. "Best check if the bro's okay." Issy clutched her stomach as she wander over to Dec who was in a sitting position with Hugo and Eric on each of his sides. Eric saw Issy approaching and shuffled away from Dec to make room for her between them. Slowly, she lowered herself down and huffed.
"I've said it once before and I'll say it again after today." Declan started, staring ahead. "You're a brutal fucker when you fight."
"As I've just said to Rainbow, I've already lost once since coming to Dauntless, I refuse to lose again." Hugo chuckles at the pair of them before they fall silent again. They watch as Max walks in front of them, eyeing Issy and Declan. Issy holds up her hand and, to the surprise of her brothers and Eric, Max holds his tongue. "If you even think about offering me Leadership again, I don't care if you're my Leader, my brother's god father or my uncle in all but blood, I will tell you exactly where to shove it. I will accept Leadership when I'm ready and not before, yes?" She finishes with a tired sigh.
"Brutal-ass mother fucker." Declan comments and Issy turns her head to him.
"Do I need to choke you again?" She asks, causing a snort of laughter to come from Hugo and Eric. Dec pouts, lightly punching Hugo in the stomach and reaching around Issy to push Eric away. He just sways a bit, grinning at Dec over Issy's head. Max watches them for moment before shaking his head and walking away, muttering something under his breath.
"That's a thought," Hugo says as he leans forward to look at them. "How did you know how to do that? Did you practice in Erudite or something?"
Issy starts to turn her whole body towards him but then stops, suddenly reminded of her ribs as pain shoots up her body. She inhales sharply and clenches her teeth. Issy feels a hand rub her back and she breathes through it before smiling tightly at Hugo. "Would you believe me if I said that I have never done that before in my life?"
"Nope." The three of them said around her.
"Yeah, well I haven't. I've only watched videos of the move being performed several times but never actually gone through with it."
"I hate you." Declan pouts again.
Issy snorts, leaning back to lay on the floor, poking him as she goes. "You could never hate me. At the most you'd be irritated with me but lets face it, that's part of my package. It comes hand in hand with my mischievousness. You're probably pissed I handed you your arse despite the fact that you've been here longer 'cause that's just embarrassing. Your little sister who has just passed initiation –"
"Alright! Alright!" Declan cuts her off grumpily. "No need to rub it in." He rubbed his face before stretching his arms above his head. Dec yawned, like a lion roaring lazily as Issy closed her eyes. She had just begun to drift when there was a gentle poke to her hip. "C'mon child, food." Dec poked her again and with her eyes still closed she tried to bat his hand away. "Have you been sleeping?"
Issy groaned, throwing an arm over her eyes. "Yes, momma hen, I've been sleeping."
"Then why don't I believe you?" He sighs and she moves her arm just enough so that she can crack one eye open to stare at him. She watches him silently before answering slowly.
"I've been sleeping."
"Issy." Hugo warns, his eyes calling bullshit as he shifts into her line of sight.
She sighs and covers her face with both hands. "I have been sleeping."
"But?" Her brothers answer simultaneously. Issy won't lie, it freaks her out when they do that.
"Can we go get food now?" She asks softly, hoping they'd drop it.
"You're changing the subject." They said together again.
"You changed the subject first."
"Oh be quiet both of you!" Marlene's voice cut off her brothers from replying. Issy leaned up slightly to see Marlene stood at her feet with her medical bag slung over one shoulder flanked by Bree. Apart from them, her brothers, Eric and herself, they were the only ones in the room. The others either having work or training to get to. Marlene lightly kicks Hugo with an annoyed expression. "If Issy is or isn't sleeping she'll tell you if she wants to. I don't see you telling everyone your inability to –"
"Oi!" Hugo quickly shouts over Marlene as his face reddens. "What happened to patient confidentiality?!"
"Leave your sister alone then." Marlene lightly snapped back and Issy grinned. "Can someone help her up so I can check on her ribs?" To nobodies surprise but Issy's, Eric is the first one to help her up with Declan following his lead. It was hard for Issy to sort out her feelings and find out what she wanted when Eric was always there helping her, if anything it just confused her more. 'But that's another good thing about patrols,' Issy thought to herself as Bree lifted Issy's top up and Marlene took out a tub from her bag, while Issy was supported by Eric and Dec. 'I won't be stuck in the compound, most likely seeing him every day.' No, patrols helped her think like tattooing helped her sleep.
Once Marlene was finished applying the cream, Issy was pulled onto her feet. Bree smiled knowingly at her as she linked her arm with Issy's and pulled her away. "You might get her back later!" Bree called over her shoulder to the men and Marlene. "Noah and I haven't seen her in a while and we'll make sure she eats!" Bree laughs slightly as the door shuts behind them and Bree leads her down the corridor.
It might be some time until the next chapter as I have a few outtakes to write and post. Is there anyone's POV you'd like to see in the outtakes?
