Chapter 17 Godfather and Mother's Lullaby

'It means you are free, Sirius.' Harry smiled at his godfather. The mixture of excitement and happiness spread in his mind as if the eruption of affection found a way to flow in. He would have a family, his true family.

Sirius grinned wide. He looked just as the same as his younger person in the magical photos of Harry's parents' wedding. Harry had never seen such a brilliant smile when he told Sirius that he meant he would move in Grimmauld Place.

'I have enough rooms for you, Harry. Decent space where you will grow up from now on as a direct descendant of the ancient magical tribe. Your mother was a great witch. Let the Purebloods say what they want to say. She was the bravest woman in the world.'

'Tell me about the magical world, I mean I don't know the system, hierarchy in the magical world.'

'You know, it is a similar system to the one happening in the Muggle world. People are all equal. Greed, fear and hate induce them to discriminate the others. Evans was also the victim in the historical…' Suddenly, Sirius's face turned pale as if he was seized with fear.

Harry glanced back and he was stunned to see innumerable Dementors approaching rapidly to them. He looked for Lupin, whose head was transforming into a werewolf. Harry was desperate and found Hermione who was devasted by chained Ron who broke his leg and she was utterly helpless. He encouraged himself by thinking his future, living with his godfather happily ever after…

'Expecto patronum!' Only a feeble light of his formless stag popped and vanished soon. 'Help me, Hermione. We have to save Sirius!' Harry gasped to see a black slimy hand touching the shoulder of his godfather… 'No…no, Sirius. You are innocent…expect…expec…' He felt the cold air behind the neck and heard a death-rattling sound. 'Expec…'

They would suck your soul and you would suffer from a living death forever.

'Never surrender, otherwise, you would live through hell. Tír na nÓg would be far away. Her magical horse would be never seen…' Harry's mother sang a song softly.

Dancing around the seven oceans, marching the parade on and on.

Dragons will save you never will fight for human-beings are all evil.

For they kill all and burn everything, their greed will never know the end.

Magical creatures sacrifice, they can share, humans not.

Evans is the loyal to them, Merlin trusted them the most.

A mad woman made a shrill cry and sneered at Harry. 'You need to mean it, the spell when you really want to kill me, Potter!' Her curse hit Sirius and he disappeared behind the grey curtain.

'Nooo!' His own screaming echoed through the basement.

'I trust in you, Harry. Everything will be all right. You are with me.' Dumbledore gave him a weak smile.

'The multicolored kingdom will be waiting for you, Harry. When the task is done, you'll be free. Dragons are not your enemies. The deer is sacred. You are the guardian of them. Dance around them, Harry. Don't cry. I'll be with you, always." His mother continued singing.

Green light flashed in the darkness and he stood on the platform. He was waiting for the next train. Or the next life stage. He wondered who was waiting for him. The red-haired woman didn't show her face. Flowery scent drifted around for a while.

Harry woke up on the sofa in the Gryffindor Common room. Ginny stroke his head by him.

'You are sweating. Did you have nightmare?' She looked worried.

'Yeah…it was a strange dream.' He sat up to see the Book of Dragons on the table. 'Where is Hermione?'

'She left to find Seamus. The Gaelic things. But she doesn't think it will work. She insists you need more magical power than chanting.'

Harry sat there thoughtfully and said, 'I reckon my mother could do the spell.'

'Why do you think so?' Ginny looked curious and her knee touched his.

Harry rubbed her kneecap with his hand and held her up onto his lap. He closed his eyes and kissed the back of her head. He tried to feel in the same way as he felt in the dream. He expected the red-haired woman in the dream was Ginny. She was her. He inhaled the sweet aroma of apple blossom. Ginny turned her face and kissed him. She whispered,

'You called my name. Why? Did you see me in the dream?'

'Yes, I did see you on the platform. That's why I came back to you.'

'Oh…you mean your dream is…'

'After the Killing Curse hit me.'

She buried her head into his chest, 'Don't leave me again, never. You must swear.'

'I swear I'll never leave you until death will do us apart…' And then he blushed. He realized what he said was for the wedding ceremony.

Ginny was silent. She seemed to feel in the same way. She stood up and dropped into his lap again and sat facing him. She moved herself in a cozy position. Harry couldn't stop feeling pleasure. The position was too intimacy. Then the dreamy moment broke suddenly when Seamus whistled at the entrance. Hermione reprimanded him.

'We should have left them as they were, Seamus. I am sorry for disturbing your peaceful time, but I need your help, Harry.' She grabbed the Book of Dragons from the table and sat the opposite.

Ginny stood up and sat beside Harry. Her ears were red like a tomato. He felt the heat rising to his face. Seamus apparently seemed to enjoy their awkwardness with his amused look.

Hermione continued her explanation, 'You told me that you remembered the last words…your mother's when she was hit the …Killing Curse. Could you please tell me which page? If you don't remember which, tell me the page roughly before you leave for investigation in York.'

She passed the book to Harry. 'I recommend opening the page which has a stag, does or fawns.'

'Okay.' He opened it in the middle of the pages and searched the image and the letters he saw in the fake Sinistra's room. The page 234 and 235 showed him the plants and the ancient letters he couldn't fathom the meaning from at all. He flipped through the other pages. He liked the white horse on the waves with the letter M on the page 318. It was like the previous patronus of Ginny. A magnificent antler and a sharp talon caught his eyes in the next page. He had a hunch that it was the page when his memory came back. The old Gaelic looked as though each letter was going to tell him something important. His mother's lullaby was repeated and changed into the tensed tongue twisters in his mind.

He was coming. Speaking the alien words, she began stacking up the chairs and the table against the door.

Where is his father? Where has Sirius gone?

Harry felt like he was going to faint. His mother's voice echoed with her death cry in the back of his brain. And then everything went black.
