Chapter 13: For a Friend Part 2

Inside of the Batcave, Alfred was cleaning the Bat-computer. He decided to clean to it before Bruce returned from whatever mission he was on. Unbeknownst to him, someone walked into the Batcave and spoke. "Wow, I've always known that Mister Wayne had a cool looking cave but even I have to admit that I'm kinda jealous that he has it".

Alfred turned around to see Anansi standing and admiring the scenery. "Excuse me sir but who are you and how did you get in here?" Alfred asked.

"I'm Anansi, nice to meet you", Anansi said. "Don't worry I'm not here for any nefarious reasons. All I want is to give this to Mister Wayne". Anansi held up a small bag. "It should help him out later on".

"I'll be sure to give those to Master Bruce", Alfred said.

"Oh thank you, that really means a lot", Anansi said as he gave Alfred the small bag. "Alright then see you later". Anansi created a portal and left. Alfred just stood there unsure of what was going on before sighing.

"You have a lot of weird friends Master Bruce", Alfred said before going back to cleaning the Bat-computer.

Elsewhere

It had been fifteen minutes since what a happened to Peter and currently Ra's and Ivy were on their way to the League of Assassin's New York base. All the while, Ivy began to think about Peter helping her in the past.

-Flashback-

It was a year ago and Ivy and the Injustice League was defeated by Spider-Man and the Avengers. The Justice League had to leave Earth to deal with an alien named Lobo. As each member of the Injustice was being arrested, Ivy was escorted by Peter towards a police car. "You fools, I will get out of here I will-" Ivy would have continued had Peter not interrupted her.

"Continue living a life of crime and abusing your powers? Of course you will", Peter said.

"What was that?" Ivy said as she glared at Peter.

"Ivy do you know what I see when I look at you?" Peter asked.

"What? What do you see so much?" Ivy countered.

"A beautiful woman with great potential but wasting it for the wrong reasons", Peter said.

"Really now?" Ivy asked feeling insulted.

"Yes because I am a big fan of your work Ms. Isley", Peter said. Ivy's glare turned to a look of curiosity. "I read about your studies on plant life and was impressed with your passion and how much you loved the Earth. Your passion for science and the Earth inspired me to follow my dreams and taught me to never give up on them. The problem is that with all the power you have, you could change the world for the better but choose not to".

"Well what would expect? I was dealt a bad hand", Ivy said.

"That may be true but even then we all have a choice to do the right thing", Peter said.

"Why are you so fixated on me Spider-Man?" Ivy asked.

"Because I believed in you Ms. Isley..." Peter said before he gave her something. To Ivy's surprise it was a rare orchid that she was trying to steal. "... and I still do". At that moment Ivy was led towards a police car and was she sat in there on her own.

The entire time she was in Belle Reeve, she kept looking at the Orchid Peter gave her and smiled slightly. Soon enough she started to think about Peter causing her smile to grow even further. "Maybe you were right, Spider-Man", Ivy said.

It had been six months since then and during her stay Belle Reeve, Ivy had avoided conflicts and went to a rehab to get rid of her anger issues. She was in her cell when she was told by a guard that she had a visitor. The moment she walked into the room she was met by the warden of the prison and Batman. "Ms. Isley so glad you can join us", the warden said.

"What's going on here?" Ivy asked.

"You're getting an early release", Bruce said.

"Really?" Ivy asked with a shocked look on her face.

"Yes, although I don't like this", Bruce said causing Ivy to scowl at him. "Don't know why but Spider-Man must really have a lot of faith in you and asked if you could get an early release". With that Ivy smiled.

-Flashback End-

Ivy thought of this as she and Ra's Al Ghul arrived at the base of the League of Assassins with Peter. While Ivy placed Peter's body on the ground gently, Ra's Al Ghul stood in the room next to an alter. Soon enough, Ivy confronted Ra's Al Ghul about something. "Ra's you made a promise to help cure Harley if I helped you, remember?" Ivy asked.

"Of course Ms. Isley, I'm nothing if I don't keep my word", Ra's said as he took out a vile. Ivy reached out to grab it but Ra's move his hand back. "I should let you know however that this will not completely cure your friend".

"You want me to help you out more just to get more of this cure don't you?" Ivy said.

"Well it's not cheap to make this", Ra's said.

"Fine you have a deal but you better be lying to me", Ivy said with glare.

"Would I lie to you my dear?" Ra's asked. Just as Ra's was about to give her the vile, a voice was heard.

"Yes, you would". Ra's and Ivy turned to see Batman, Talia, and Black Canary standing behind them.

"It seems we are too late, the Spider-Man is dead", Talia said with shock.

"Ivy actually went through with it", Dinah said with a sad expression.

"I had to, Harley was infected with a disease and Ra's Al Ghul has the cure for her", Ivy said.

"Red, I'm just fine", a voice called out. Ivy turned to see that her Harley Quin was standing with Batman, Dinah, and Talia. "Gotta say Red you look great".

Ivy's face contorted to a large glare as she turned to face Ra's Al Ghul. "YOU LIED TO ME!" Ivy yelled as large vines burst from the ground to attack him. Ra's Al Ghul jump backwards to avoid the attack before standing on at the edge of a stairwell.

"Alright fine, I haven't been completely honest with you", Ra's said. "The truth is that I was holding Harley hostage so that I could get you to do anything that I wanted. It would be payback for thinking that you could leave this life".

"You selfish arrogant sonova bitch!" Ivy glared. "How dare you do that to me!"

"How dare me, how dare you Ivy", Ra's said. "We were going to change the world together. We could have created a new world order but then you betrayed me ".

"Don't act like you don't know why. I couldn't work with someone who would ever go as far as to murder innocent children", Ivy said.

"The very act that led to many of your members to leave the League of Assassins", Talia said. "You should've known better father".

"You still fail to see that some lives have to be taken to create a perfect world", Ra's said. "I will do what I believe is necessary to achieve my goal".

"Then tell me what about Spider-Man? Why do you hate Spider-Man so much anyway?" Ivy asked as she glared at him.

"I'll tell you why I despise him", Ra's said. "I hate him because of the incident years ago that involved Devil's Breath, a biological weapon that myself and Norman Osborn created together. I wanted to use it to wipe out as many people I could in New York however Mr. Parker there found out and stopped it from being activated. My greatest plan was ruined because of his intervention. Which is why I've made it my personal goal to see him dead".

"So you had to blackmail someone to get them to do your job for you", Bruce said. "I expected better from you Ra's".

"It doesn't matter anymore because Mr. Parker here is dead", Ra's

"I beg to differ", a voice called out. Pam, Bruce, Dinah, Ra's, Harley, and Talia all turned around to see Peter get back up to his feet. "You missed me didn't you Ra's?"

"How he was supposed to be dead", Ra's said.

"Simple I gave him something other than the poison you wanted me to give him. I gave something that would slow the heart down and make it seem like he was dead; hydrochlorothiazide", Ivy said with a smirk. "I could never go through with killing a great man like Peter".

"Thanks for the compliment", Peter said before turning around to wave at the others. "Hey guys, Harley, how's it goin?"

"Goin good Spidey, thanks for askin!" Harley said with a big smile.

"I've had just about enough of you all", Ra's said. Ra's then snaps his fingers causing ninjas to descend from the ceiling. The ninjas attacked them all leading to a huge brawl breaking out with Ra's deciding to attack Peter.

"To think there are a few of you left, I was certain that most of you decided to leave", Talia said as she ducked under an attack and delivered a punch to the man's gut.

"Well you thought wrong", the man said before he kicked her back. "Just because you're his daughter doesn't mean I'll show any mercy, especially since you decided to leave, traitor". The man tried to kick her again but Talia leg swept him and he fell to the ground.

Harley and Ivy were back to back as they were facing to two ninjas at once. "Just like old times, ha Red?" Harley asked.

"Yeah just like old times", Ivy said as her eyes glew green and she summoned large vines to attack them before Harley used her bat to knock them both out.

Dinah and Bruce were facing six ninjas. Bruce threw several Batarangs at them before Dinah jumped up and kicked a few in the face. When one ninja pulled out a sword to attack her, Bruce intercepted the attack with his armored arm to deflect the attack before punching the ninja in the face.

Peter and Ra's Al Ghul were trading punches with Ra's managing to punch Peter away. "Sorry, I'm a little bit groggy so I may not be able to fight correctly", Peter quipped. Ra's glared at him before charging at him. Peter Spider Sense blared and he jumped over Ra's and managed to kick him forward and sending Ra's crashing through a wall.

Peter decided to jump through the hole in the wall and removed his street clothes. He was now wearing his Spider-Man suit and had just put the mask on.

"Com'on Ra's, can't we just talk things out like normal people?" Peter asked as he walked in. His Spider Sense blared and he jumped as Ra's tried to attack him from behind with a sword. "Nice try, try again".

'Of course that Spider Sense of his is back. I was certain that he was dead so Ivy deactivated the Spider Jammer', Ra's thought to himself.

Peter leapt forward and punched Ra's in the stomach before catching a punch from Ra's and throwing him backwards. Ra's got back up and countered a few punches and kicks from Peter before ducking under a kick and grabbing Peter from behind and placing him in a head lock.

"Everything you stand for is an insult to everything that the League of Assassins stand for and will correct that right now but killing you", Ra's said.

"As if I'll allow you to do that", Peter said before he elbowed Ra's in the stomach hard causing Ra's to let go of him. Ra's tried to attack Peter by jumping in the air. Peter was ready to punch Ra's... when instead he shot a beam of photon energy blasting Ra's back into the other room where the others were with Peter walking in. "Whoa, I could never do this. This seems exactly like Carol's power".

"Don't think that just because you can use a power from one of your three wives will mean you will win", Ra's said. This caused Ivy's eyes to widen a bit.

"I think you need to count Mr. Superiority. There's six of us and one of you", Peter said. Ra's looked to see that all of his allies were defeated and glared.

"It seems as though I will need to surrender for now", Ra's said before he pulled out a device and pressed a button. "Understand though that I will be back". With that the entire base began to shake as explosions could be heard causing our heroes to flee on foot. As they made it out they saw the entire building come down.

-Later-

It had been an hour and a half since Ra's Al Ghul destroyed the base. After digging through the rubble they concluded that Ra's escaped the destruction in time and will be back. Harley and Ivy checked to see one another while Batman decided to head home with Talia.

"Are you sure they didn't do anything to you Harley?" Ivy asked out of concern.

"Of course, they wanted to but when they tried I wacked'em across the head", Harley said. "Don't worry Red, I'm doin just fine".

"If you say so", Ivy said.

"So you gonna make a move on the Web-Head?" Harley asked causing Ivy to get slightly flustered. "Oh trust me I know all about your little crush on the Web-Head. Besides he is quite a hunk with a nice butt".

"Harley", Ivy said.

"Relax Red, besides I think you found a nice that cares for you as well", Harley said. This Ivy to blush with a small smile. "Go get'em Red". With that Harley began to walk away towards Dinah.

Ivy decided to go speak with Peter and stopped in front of him. "Peter, I sorry I did that to you. I understand if you are mad at me", Ivy said.

"I am mad but I don't blame you for what you did Ivy", Peter said. "You did what you thought you had to do to save someone care for. Although, you could have told me about what was going on".

"I know and I should have let you know what was going on", Ivy said.

"How about this, next time this happens, we work together to help each other. What do you say?" Peter asked as he held out his hand with a smile.

"Of course", Ivy said as she shook his hand with a smile on her face. "So was Ra's joking about you having three wives?"

"Unfortunately no. I actually do have three wives", Peter said shocking Ivy.

"Three wives, really?" Ivy asked with a point gaze at Peter.

"I can explain about that", Peter said. He explained everything and explained who he was married to causing Ivy to look on in surprise. "... and that's currently it".

"So it's the woman's choice if they want to be with you?" Ivy asked.

"Yes but there also has be genuine love between me and the women that want to be with me", Peter said.

"Well... what if I... asked if I... could be your next wife?" Ivy asked hesitantly.

"Wait what?" Peter asked shocked.

"Peter, I've had feelings for you for a long time", Ivy said. "I wouldn't mind being your fourth wife".

"Well I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel anything for you but I do have to ask, are you sure ready for what's to come?" Peter asked.

"Of course I am", Ivy said with a look of confidence.

"In that case...", Peter said as he pulled out a ring and got on one knee "Well then Pamela Lillian Isley, will you marry me?"

"Yes", Ivy answers as Peter places the ring on her finger causing pink energy to wash over her body before dissipating. Peter stood back up as Ivy walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him which Peter returned. Soon enough, Ivy and Peter separated with smiles. "You have no idea just how much I wanted to do that".

"Same here", Peter said before his eyes widened. "Oh man, how am I gonna explain this to the others?" Ivy giggled at his reaction. While all that was going on, the two never noticed that Dinah was watching them. On the inside, Dinah could feel a tiny pinch of pain in her chest.

Gotham

Bruce and Talia had just returned to the Batcave where Talia sighed as she looked to the ground. "Are you going to be alright?"

"Yeah, I will", Talia said.

"For now why don't you stay here?" Bruce asked.

"Of course my love", Talia said as she walked up to Bruce and kissed on the lips. Soon enough, Alfred walked into the room.

"Alfred", Bruce said.

"It take it it has been a long day Master Bruce?" Alfred asked.

"Indeed it was", Bruce said as walked over to Alfred. As he got closer he noticed the bag in Alfred's hand. "What's with the bag?"

"A strange man appeared out of nowhere and gave me these. He said they were you although it's just three rings", Alfred said. Bruce's eyes widened at this.

"Oh boy", the only thing Bruce could say.

"Those are the same type of rings Spider-Man was given am I right?" Talia asked.

"Yes they are", Bruce said just as he picked up one before it started to glow.

"Well, beloved what are you waiting for? Aren't you going to propose to me?" Talia asked with sly smirk. Alfred went slightly wide eyed before turning to Bruce. Bruce sighed before he took off his mask and walked over to Talia before kneeling on one knee.

"Talia Al Ghul will you marry me?" Bruce asked.

"Bruce I would love nothing more. Yes I will marry you", Talia said. Bruce slipped the ring on her finger ring finger causing a wave of pink energy to wash over her body before dissipating. Bruce got up and Talia walked towards him and kissed him on the lips.

Next time Peter and Dinah spend time together.
