Chapter 14: The Meaning of Love

In a prison cell on Themyscira, Aresia laid in her room as one of the guards arrived to give her a plate of food. "Here you go Aresia", the guard said. Aresia didn't look at the guard as she stared at the ground. "Just so you know Aresia, not everyone agrees with what Queen Hippolyta decided".

At this Aresia smiled slightly. "Thank you Aleka", Aresia said. Aleka bowed before she left the prison just as Aresia grabbed the plate and took it with her to meet a group of women that were also imprisoned with her.

These Amazons committed a crime of attempting to take the life the Queen's daughter. These four were Myrto, Charis, Philomela, and Alkyone.

Aresia sat down with the four before sharing her food with them. "I have a plan sisters where we will get revenge on Queen Hippolyta and her daughter Diana", Aresia said. The four women gathered as they wanted to know what the plan was.

Baxter Building

Inside the Baxter Building was an air of awkwardness as Carol, Di, and Sue were sitting at a table with their newest housemate Pam. It had been three whole days since Peter had explained to them what happened and why Pam became his fourth wife. Still they couldn't help but feel weird as they were now living with a former enemy and adversary.

"I take it you all weren't really expecting me here, huh?" Pam asked.

"Honestly no, not really", Carol said.

"Well to be fair, I kinda had the same thought, although I never imagined Peter would attract such powerful women to be his beloved wives", Pam said.

"Well Peter has a certain charm that makes him endearing and allows us all to relax a bit", Diana said. "I take it you felt the same way around him, right?"

"Well yes he does", Pam said with a small smile on her face.

"More importantly, he always tries to keep everyone uplifted and hopeful", Sue said.

"There may be several other different reasons for loving Peter but the common reason is that he loves others, am I correct?" Pam asked.

"Indeed it is", the other three said with smiles.

"So tell us what is it you love about Peter?" Sue asked.

"I love how passionate he is", Pam said. "We talked about we liked and he mentioned his love for photography. I guess I could relate to that as I was passionate about gardening. More than that, I love that he' saved me from myself".

"What do you mean by that?" Diana asked.

"I had done many wrong things in the past and garnered a bad reputation that was not unearned", Pam said. "After I was defeated and was to sent away Peter told me that I could be better and that he still believed in me. I never had that kind of support from anyone else before so I kinda liked the feeling of someone believing in me for once".

At this, Carol stood up slowly. "You know ladies, I think we should welcome our newest member", Carol said.

"I agree", Diana said as she and Sue stood up.

"Well I guess I should start over and introduce myself", Pam said. "I'm Pamela Isley, Peter's fourth wife. All I ask is that you can forgive me for my past crimes and come to trust me". Sue walked over to Pam.

"Peter trusts you so we trust you as well", Sue said. "Welcome to the Baxter Building and welcome to your new home". Pam smiled as she gave Sue a hug with Carol and Diana smiling behind the two. As the two separated Pam realized something and asked a question.

"Speaking of Peter, where is he?" Pam asked as she looked around.

Elsewhere

"He said that Black Canary called him and said there were a string of crimes that she needed help with so he went to go help her out", Sue said. "Let's hope they're doing all right".

Peter and Dinah were currently on top of a building in Star City where Peter and Dinah were fighting Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike. As it turns out Peter and Dinah had been spending the entire night fighting crime. The two were going around and fighting various criminals and thugs when they found out that Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike were attacking an employee of Queen Enterprises.

While Peter took on Sabretooth, Dinah fought Lady Deathstrike. Peter was able to punch Sabretooth back with powerful blows to the face only for Sabretooth to knee Peter in the gut and slashed his back with his claws. Peter yelled in pained before turning fast and elbowed Sabretooth in the gut with half of his full power.

Sabretooth slowly backed away in order to recover a bit as he has the same healing factor as Logan. Peter on the other hand wouldn't let him go so easy and he punched Sabretooth in the face sending him flying. Peter thought fast and shot multiple webs at Sabretooth in order to web him up in a web-cocoon.

"Gah, I'll get out of this Bug and when I do I'm gonna-mmph", Victor began only to be cut off with Peter webbed his mouth shut.

"Sorry Victor but you'll heading to the Raft after this", Peter said.

Dinah was avoiding Lady Deathstrike's slash attacks before back flipping over another. Deathstrike took advantage of this by kicking Dinah in the stomach as she was in mid air. Dinah fell to the ground before kicking herself back up and giving Deathstrike a roundhouse kick tho the face.

Deathstrike stood upright and tried to attack but found that her feet were stuck. She looked down to see that her feet were covered in webbing and looked to Peter with a hard glare. Peter smiled through his mask and waved at her.

"Oh don't mind me besides I'm not your opponent", Peter said as he covered his ears with his hands.

Deathstrike's eyes widened as she forgot about Dinah who was standing right behind her. "Hey wanna hear something?" Dinah asked with a sly smirk. Before Deathstrike could do anything... "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!" Dinah screamed in Deathstrike's ear and sent her flying.

With both villains knocked unconscious, Peter webs them up for SHIELD. "So where to next?" Peter asked.

"I think that's it for now", Dinah said. "We better get out of here".

"Gotcha", Peter said as he and Dinah began to leave just as SHIELD agents arrived. The two eventually ended up on a building that overlooked the city where Peter was on a stone gargoyle and Dinah on the edge of a ledge. "Gotta admit this a beautiful city".

"Yeah it is", Dinah said with a sigh.

"So what's going on?" Peter asked.

"What do you mean?" Dinah asked.

"You called me out to help you with various crimes that Ollie could take care, except of course Sabretooth and Deathstrike that is. Besides, you have the Birds with you occasionally", Peter said. "So tell me are doing alright or what?"

Dinah sighed once more. "Honestly I'm not doing alright", Dinah said. "Today is the anniversary of my first marriage and it's reminding me of all my past failures in relationships".

"Ah, I understand that feeling", Peter said.

"I keep remembering my marriage with Kurt and my relationship with Oliver and how both times my relationships have ended poorly with them", Dinah said. "After everything that's happened I started to believe that I'm destined to be alone".

"You know I though the exact same thing at one point", Peter said causing Dinah to look at him. "After I lost Gwen, I felt as if I wouldn't be able to find love either. Hell I believed that everyone conspired against me to make me suffer. More importantly I felt like I had no one else".

"What made you change your mind about it?" Dinah asked.

"Well, it was Aunt May, Carol, and Diana that helped me realize that they were there for me", Peter said. "How would've thought that Carol and Diana would be my wives". At this Peter looked over to her. "Trust me Dinah, you are a beautiful woman that any man would love to be with. You'll find the right man, that I promise".

At this Dinah smiled before moving to sit beside Peter on the stone gargoyle. "Well, what if I were to say that I have found the right man but don't know if he loves me back?" Dinah asked with a small blush. Peter's eyes widened slightly before he moved slightly closer to her.

"Well all you have to do is take a leap of faith", Peter said. Dinah closed the gap between them, pulled Peter's mask up a bit, and kissed Peter. Peter returned the kiss as he held her. Soon enough the two slowly separated.

"I've wanted to do that for a while now", Dinah said.

"Same here", Peter said.

"So is there any spots open for being a Mrs. Parker?" Dinah asked.

"Yes there is", Peter said as a ring materialized in his hand. "Dinah Drake Lance, will you marry me?"

"Yes, I would love to", Dinah said. Peter put the ring on to her ring finger. Suddenly a wave of pink energy washed over Dinah's body before dissipating. With that the two began to kiss each other again.

-Later-

Peter and Dinah had arrived at the Baxter Building Peter landed his flying car on the roof. "Well here we are", Peter said as and Dinah were exiting the car. The two made it into the living room where Pam, Sue, Diana, and Carol were laughing at a story Sue told them about using her powers to pants Johnny.

"Hey everyone", Peter called out and getting everyone's attention.

"Hey Peter", they all said.

"So is Dinah your new wife?" Carol asked with a smirk.

"Yes I am", Dinah said with a large smile on her face.

"Alright welcome home Dinah", Pam said.

"Thanks it's good to be here", Dinah said as she sat with them others. Peter sat back and smiled as his wives were mingling. Suddenly, Peter's Spider Sense blared for a bit causing Peter to grab the side of his head.

'What was that? My Spider Sense doesn't go out of control unless...' Peter thought to himself before his eyes widened. '...oh no she can't be back. I thought she was destroyed. How is she back?'

Elsewhere in New York

Inside of a building, noises could be heard as a man was being attacked by a mysterious assailant. Soon enough, a wall is smashed as a man is thrown through a building and into an alley way. Soon enough the figure of a woman began walking up to him as was getting back up to face her.

The man being attacked was a villain named Black Tarantula. As the woman approached him he charged at her and began punching at her only for her to block his attacks. He went for a kick to the face but she moved out of the way and leg swept him.

Black Tarantula was able to use his hand to balance himself and stand back on his feet again before going to throw another punch. The woman was able to catch his fist before twisting his arm with a loud cracking sound heard being heard. The woman then opened her mouth and scream causing Tarantula to be sent flying onto the ground.

The woman began to slowly walk over to him just as he was trying to back up again. "For a fake spider, I will say you show great strength", the woman said.

"W-Who are you?" Tarantula asked before she grabbed him by the neck. The woman was wearing a gold and dark blue suit with the gold areas on the chest and abdomen shaped as a spider, while also wearing a purple cape. She had black hair with brown eyes.

"A queen who is looking for her mate", the woman said before stabbing him in the abdomen with her hand. "You'll heal from this so listen closely. When you meet Spider-Man, tell him that Adriana Soria is looking for him". With that Adriana drops him and jumps away just the cops arrive. "We'll meet again soon Peter Parker".
