Chapter 17: Queens and Vampires Part 2

"So you actually got married?" This was the question from Selina Kyle, the master thief known to many as Catwoman. She asked this question to Bruce as they were sitting down in the Batcave as Bruce told her everything.

"Yes I did", Bruce said.

"More importantly, you got married to Talia Al Ghul?" Selina asked.

"Yes I did", Bruce said after he sighed. "I understand this is confusing and crazy for you".

"Indeed it is", Selina said. "The craziest thing however is that you can marry two other women because of a Spider God that did the same thing to Peter".

"You'll be surprised with all the things he's had to deal with over the years and how it affects others around him", Bruce said while thinking back on Peter's troubles and triumphs.

"That I don't doubt", Selina said with a small smile. "So you want me to be your second wife?"

"Yes but I don't want to keep you from what you want to do", Bruce said. "Everything is your decision Selina and whatever you choose I'll go with it".

Selina smiled before she got up and walked to Bruce and kissed him on the lips. "To be fair Bruce, I always dreamed of us being together. If doing so means I have to share you then so be it", Selina said before she kissed him again.

"I love you Selina", Bruce said with a rare genuine smile. Bruce took out a ring from his pocket and presented it to her. "Selina Kyle, will you marry me?"

"Yes", Selina answered. Bruce put the ring on her ring finger and a pink wave of energy washed over Selina's body before it dissipated. The two hugged each other once again and kissed once again.

Unbeknownst to them Alfred was watching everything happening. "Well, I better leave before I see something I shouldn't see. I'll come back down once they are finished", Alfred before he nonchalantly walked up the stairs and left the Batcave.

Baxter Building

Inside of the Baxter Building, the ladies began to stand up and confront the Inheritors. "My dear sister won't tell you twice Amazon. Hand her over or die", Deimos said.

"We have a counter offer, leave now or suffer at our hands", Diana said as she drew her sword while the other ladies stood ready to fight.

Carol turned to Jess and whispered to her. "Go and hide. We'll hold them off".

Jess nodded as she began to leave. As she did so the ladies and the Inheritors clashed. Deimos was fighting against Diana and Sue while Verna battled against Carol, Dinah, and Pam.

Deimos began punching at Diana only for his attacks to be blocked and countered before receiving an uppercut from her. Deimos staggered back before lunging at Diana only to slam face first into an invisible force field courtesy of Sue Storm.

Sue managed to create a large force mallet construct and bring it down on Deimos only for him to block the attack. This was exactly as Sue planned Diana ran up and punched him back with a strong right hook to the face. This knocked Deimos into the ceiling and falling back down on the ground.

Deimos started to get back up on to his feet and glared at her. "I'm going to enjoy ripping you apart Amazon", Deimos said before charging at Diana and Sue.

Verna was getting more than she bargained for facing Carol and Dinah at the same time. Dinah and Carol went for a sweet and sour as Carol jumped and did a spinning heel kick while Dinah went for a leg sweep that caught Verna off guard.

As Verna fell to the floor, Pam called forth several vines that attacked Verna and started to restrain her. This did not last long as Verna began ripping the plants off of her. Pam felt hurt by this as she's connected with the plant-life herself and retaliated by summoning more vines to strangle Verna while she was getting up.

As Pam did this, Verna was trying to wrestle the vines off of her before Dinah appeared behind Verna. "Wanna hear a secret?" Dinah asked before she opened her mouth. A high pitched Canary Cry sent Verna flying and crashing into a wall.

Before they could advance on Verna, Carol with Dinah and Pam were attacked by Deimos who caused a shockwave by clapping his hands. "Don't think this will be easy for you all. We will have the female spider", Deimos said as he stood with his sister.

The women stood together as well before rushing towards the two Inheritors restarting the fight between both sides.

While they were all fighting, Jess managed to get down to the first floor of the Baxter Building. As Jess exited the elevator, she walked into the room only to be confronted by an unfriendly voice. "And where do you think you are going?"

Jess turned around to see who it was and frowned at the sight. "Oh come on", Jess whined.

with Peter

Peter stood on the rooftop looking directly at Adriana as she stared right back at him. Adriana began to walk slowly towards Peter with a smirk as Peter began to speak. "Adriana, I had a feeling we'd meet. I just hoped it wasn't this soon", Peter said.

"Trust me Mr. Parker, I've been waiting for you for a long time now", Adriana said before she suddenly stopped a few centimeters in front of him. "After all we have some unfinished business". Adriana charged forward and attacked Peter with a flurry of punches and kicks. Luckily for Peter he was able to avoid her attacks and fight back.

Peter managed to block several kicks from her and even deliver a palm strike to her abdomen sending her back. Adriana smirked before she jumped up and tried to punch Peter. Peter avoided her and she punched to roof of the building before jumping forward and attacking Peter again.

Peter was getting fed up with this and went on the offensive by countering a punch before superkicking her in the face. As she fell back, Peter flew up in front of her before maneuvering to kick her back onto the roof of the building as Peter landed on his feet.

"Impressive. You're stronger than the last time we fought", Adriana said impressed by his skill.

"I've been training for years now to go toe to toe against people like you. Look I would love nothing more than to spar with you again and pay you back for the beating but I currently have something to take care of right now", Peter said.

"Yes, I know of these Inheritors", Adriana said as she folded her arms underneath her rather large bust. "They are a rather pathetic lot who think themselves superior to us Spiders".

"Then you know how dangerous they are and how we need to stop them", Peter said.

"Yes, I suppose we should stop them", Adriana said.

"Look I know we don-wait you're going to help me?" Peter asked.

"Yes of course I am. If they are allowed to keep doing what they want, I won't be able to claim you for myself", Adriana said.

"You're still on about me being your mate?" Peter asked.

"Of course I am. I wouldn't dare mate with any of those monkeys", Adriana said. "Besides every Queen needs a consort".

"What if I were to tell you I'm already married to five women?" Peter asked. That question actually caused her to go wide eyed before she smirked.

"Simple, that means we already have subjects for our new kingdom", Adriana said.

"Well regardless of that, we better get going. They're currently in danger", Peter said as he thwipped a web line. Adriana did the same and the two begin to swing to the Baxter Building together.

Back at the Baxter Building

The fighting continued as the ladies were fighting as hard as they could when Jess flew back into the room and fell on the floor. This caused everyone to stop fighting. "Jess!" Carol yelled as she picked up her best friend.

"She's working with them", Jess said.

"What? Who?" Carol asked.

"That would be me", a voice said. This turned out to be Grail as she walked into the room with an evil smirk.

"Grail, you're working with the Inheritors? Why?!" Diana glared at her before drawing her sword at her.

"Simple, it is all for my father's conquest of the universe", Grail answered.

"This whole time the Inheritors and Darkseid's forces were conspiring together. Why am I not surprised?" Carol asked as she and Jess stood up Carol held Jess up.

"We gave you all an option to hand her over, now we're going to kill you all and then take her", Deimos said with a smile. Grail stood with the Inheritors as they charged at the heroines.

The heroines fought against them but thanks in large part Grail's fighting style she was able to keep the heroines at bay. Carol and Diana were pushed back hard by Grail as their attacks failed to hit her all the while Grail was able to harm them. Deimos slashed through Sue's constructs and managed to knock down onto the floor. Verna was able to slash through Pam's vines and push her and Dinah back.

The heroines were pushed on to the ground as Verna, Deimos, and Grail descended upon them. Before they do anything though, Jess ran in front of them. "Stop! I'm the one you want right? So take me instead", Jess said. This caused the ladies to go wide eyed and gasp while the villains were at first shocked and then smirked.

"Well this is interesting", Grail said as she stepped forward and grabbed Jess by the arm. "Understand we have no intention of killing you, at least not right now. We just want the Spider-Man". Grail turned towards the group of women who were scrambling to get back up. "When he arrives let him know that if he wants his friend back then he will have to meet us here".

Grail threw down a note that contained a location for where to meet them and it landed right at the feet of Diana. Soon after that, Grail turned around and opened a portal to another location before Carol spoke.

"If any of hurt Jess in any way-"

"I'd save your threats little girl. We want the Spider-Man's that is all", Verna said.

"Carol relax, I'll be fine", Jess said with a reassuring smile. Carol had nothing to say as she saw Jess smile. She had no choice but to believe her friend will be all right. Soon enough the four walked through the portal as it closed. At the same time Peter and Adriana had just arrived.

"Dammit we were too late", Peter said.

"Peter!" The ladies say as they turned to see him with Adriana. They all gave him confused looks as a result.

"I'm not under mind control and she's going to help us deal with the Inheritors. I'll explain later", Peter said quickly.

Soon enough Carol walked over to him and hugged him. "Peter they took Jess", Carol said.

"We'll get her back, I promise", Peter said.

In Space

Out in deep space a fireball began flying through the cosmos. This wasn't just any sort of fireball it was actually a woman. She had glowing green eyes and blazing red hair with dazzling orange skin. She wore a purple and white legless and sleeveless singlet with purple shoulder length arm bands and purple thigh high boots. This was none other than Princess Koriand'r of Tamaran aka Starfire.

Starfire was heading back to Earth after helping out the Nova Corp and the Guardians of the Galaxy with the Kree and flew at high speeds to get home.

"That mission with the Kree were frustrating but at least I can head home to see my friends on Earth again. I can't wait to see everyone that-" Starfire stopped both mid sentence and and flying as she saw something that shocked her. "Oh no". It was all Starfire could say as she saw the threat in front of her.

Next time the rescue mission to save Jess. Plus what did Starfire see that frightened her?
