Seraphina's POV
Demetri had taken me through a secret exit I hadn't even known about, probably so that the secretary won't blab about our whereabouts.
"Tell me more about the mission." I tell Demetri as we are walking away from the castle.
"Its quite simple, I need to track and alert Aro of the whereabouts of a certain vampire that is conspiring against the Volturi." Demetri explains.
"Who is it?" I ask him.
"It's an old vampire called Roberto. He used to serve the Volturi ages ago, but after years of not getting a higher place in the guard, he left." Demetri explains.
"Was he that low ranking?" I ask, imagining him to be weak.
"He had no gift, but he had a strategic mind so he was the Volturi's advisor." Demetri continued.
"But that wasn't enough for him." I predicted.
"Correct, he wished to become a leader alongside Aro, Caius and Marcus." Demetri adds.
I chuckle darkly, "And I suppose he didn't take rejection lightly."
"He did not, which is why he left the Volturi." Demetri says. "We had not heard from him in ages not until now where he is apparently trying to form a rebel group."
I narrow my eyes, "And we are meant to just track and alert? Why don't we dispose of him while we're there?"
"That is Alec's team job. Mine is simply to find him." Demetri explains.
How boring, so I'm just tagging along as he tracks him.
"What a waste of time! Why doesn't Alec and his team accompany you and they can dispose him when you find him." I say, logically.
They are wasting time for making Demetri find him, going back and then returning with back up.
Demetri cracks a smile from my outburst, "Aro doesn't want to be defenseless unless he's sure where his enemy is."
I roll my eyes.
Please, he still has the rest of his army in the Volterra castle.
"Buuut-" Demetri says as he grins. "I was told to track him but they never told me to not dispose of him and his group."
I curl my blood-red lips into a smirk.
I love loopholes.
After a few minutes of running, we have exited Volterra and have arrived in another town.
"I'm hungry..." I mutter as I frown.
"What does the Principessa want to eat?" Demetri asks me with a flirtatious smile. (Principessa: princess)
I glare at him and he ignores my stare as he looks ahead and continues talking.
"Let's look at the menu."
He looks at two giggling girls walk as they both stare at him and whisper to themselves.
"Would you like a pair of beautiful ladies?" He said the part of beautiful ladies loud enough for the pair of dumb doras to hear and giggle even more. (Dumb dora: unintelligent woman)
I roll my eyes, "As annoying as they are, they are in a crowded place. We need to go to a hidden, secluded ally."
"I'm sure I can convince them to accompany us." He says and winks to the girls who continue to blush and giggle.
I look at the two girls and see the innocence clear in their features.
"No." I said with finality and started walking to a secluded ally.
Demetri followed me but not before winking and waving goodbye to the giggling girls.
We both settled in a secluded spot of a dark ally.
"It smells disgusting." Demetri mutters after a few seconds of standing.
I crack a smile, "You're just too used to getting food handed to you." I scan the area, "Here, you actually hunt your food."
Demetri looks around as well.
Only a few minutes pass when we see a little boy and a little girl stumble into the ally.
"Finally." Demetri says and is about to pounce but I stop him.
"Don't."
Demetri looks at me questioningly, "Why? They are perfect targets."
"I don't drink from children." I say, simply.
"You don't?" Demetri asks astonished.
"For someone who claims to watch me, you sure don't pay attention." I say, sassily.
Demetri ignores my remark and asks, "Why not? I thought you hated humans."
The parents of the toddlers find them and carry them away from the ally and to the busy street.
I watch them as they laugh happily at being reunited with their parents.
"I do hate humans but at that stage, they are still innocent and pure, not yet tainted and exposed to the evils of humankind." I say as I watch them being carried away.
I notice the little girl wave at me.
I let a small rare smile appear in my features and wave back.
"Huh, didn't take you for the type." Demetri says as he looks at our exchange.
I let a sly smirk, "What? Thought I was a monster?"
"Yes." Demetri replies honestly.
"Well believe it or not, I do have a heart."
"As little as it may be." He says with a playful smile.
"And hidden away." I joke back.
We both chuckle.
Demetri is actually not all that bad when he keeps his flirtatious comments to himself.
It is then we hear drunken voices.
"I could have had 'nother bottle, y'nooow." A drunken black haired man slurs his words.
"Nah, you couldn't have!" Another man with brown hair, tells him, who is drunk as well but not as much as his friend.
"I could! I'm not ossified! Ughhh, now I have to go back to my annoying wife!" The black haired man whines. (Ossified: drunk)
"Then ditch her! And run away with that Sheba you were at the bar!" The brunette chuckles. (Sheba: attractive girl)
"Nah, she was just for fun!" the drunken man cackles.
I narrow my eyes at the drunken individuals.
"I believe we've found our targets." I say.
Demetri sighs, "I'm not a fan of drinking from men but If I must."
I roll my eyes at his fussiness but quickly dash and put myself on their line of sight.
It doesn't take long for them to notice me.
"Wooow…who's that?" The brown haired man says, gaping at me.
"Hah? Who?" His friend asks and follows his line of sight. "Wow, I believe it's my lucky day!"
"What? No! You're drunk and you already had your fun with the other sheba, it's my turn!" The brown haired man says and quickly walks up to me leaving his friend behind as he yells at him too drunk to catch up to him.
"Hey doll, need me to walk you home?" He asks with a flirty smile.
"Hm? Are you sure, sir? How about your friend? He looks awfully drunk." I ask feigning innocence.
"Nah, he's fine. But a pretty thing like you? It's dangerous this time at night." He snakes his arm on my shoulder. "You might need a fella like me to protect you."
I smile darkly and take his greasy hand off of me, "It is dangerous this time at night but I'm not the one who needs protection."
"What?" He asks confused and notices his drunk, loud friend has been awfully quiet for the past few seconds now and looks at where he left him but is surprised to only see the lifeless body of his friend.
"George!" He yells, horrified.
I stop him from running to his friend.
"What's wrong? I thought you were taking me home…?" I ask him with a smirk.
"N-no! My f-friend! He's-!" The black haired man splutters scared.
"Aw…And here I thought you were a gentleman." I say and before he can reply, I sink my fangs on his neck.
He squirms and tries to push me away but his strength is no match to mine and before long I toss him on the floor alongside his friend.
"Ugh, you left me the one who was more drunk." Demetri complains.
"It doesn't matter, blood is blood." I reply and begin walking away.
"I can almost taste the cheap alcohol from his blood." Demetri whines.
I roll my eyes, he can be such a girl.
How this man is a Casanova is beyond me.

After a few hours we finally reached the site where the vampires are supposed to meet, staying in a distance far enough away for them to not notice us.
"About time." I mutter.
"I enjoyed our time traveling." Demetri says with a flirty smile.
I ignored his comment and focused my sight on our target.
My eyes are set to a middle aged, dark brown haired vampire, he is walking back and forth making it seem as if he's waiting for someone.
"Is that him?" I ask Demetri.
"Mhm." Demetri nods. " He is."
I continue observing his movements and by the way he paces back and forth and checks his watch its easy to conclude he's waiting for someone.
Demetri watches me curiously.
"What are you waiting for? I'd imagine you'd have killed him by now." Demetri says.
"Do not be hasty." I tell him.
I smirk, "Why just kill the leader when we can kill him and his group."
Demetri gives a sly smile, "You're as intelligent as you are beautiful."
"Naturally." I reply.
We continue observing Roberto and as the seconds pass he grows agitated and looks around anxiously.
Demetri and I hid a safe distance away so we were in no danger of being spotted.
After a few more minutes, 4 more vampires arrived and I stifled a laugh.
"This is the group that wants to exterminate the Voluri? They aren't enough to even play baseball, let alone go against an immense coven like the Volturi." I sneered.
"As pathetic as it may be, just the thought of going against the Volturi is punishable by law." Demetri says.
Ha, by a law they created.
But nonetheless If it gives me the opportunity to destroy them, I'll take it.
"Let's listen in, they might have more coming." I tell Demetri.
We pay attention to their conversation.
"Are we all present?" Roberto asks as he looks towards his group.
"We haven't heard from Jonathan in a few days, we don't know if he will participate." A female brunette vampire says.
"Jonathan is our informant." Demetri whispers to me.
"He was briefed of this meeting, if he chose to not participate it's his loss." Roberto says.
So it really is just 5 vampires.
"What's the plan then?" A youthful blonde male vampire asks.
"In terms of numbers we are in heavily disadvantage." An older looking black haired male vampire says.
You got that right.
"For the Volturi to crumble we must kill its stronger members, one by one." Roberto declares.
I narrow my eyes at his bold statement.
"Our first target is Chelsea, she holds the Volturi together with her gift." Roberto says "Without her the guard will lose its reason to work for the Volturi."
True... very few actually stay in the Volturi for their own volition.
I look at my right and observe Demetri.
I'm sure he too is with the Volturi because of Chelsey's power.
Demetri notices my stare and winks, "Have you finally fallen for my good looks?"
"Keep dreaming." I tell the blonde who simply chuckles.
We both soon revert to listening back to the rebel group.
"That might cause some chaos but it won't destroy the Volturi. They have enough loyal guard members that will stay with them even without Chelsea's power over them." a tanned man with raven hair says.
"It will be enough to cause a distraction and our next step will be to eliminate their strongest members." Roberto says.
They don't mean...
"The witch twins." Roberto says with a sly smile.
I could feel the air around me get hotter as I started seeing red.
It took everything in my power to not run to them and burn them painfully slow, making them suffer for even mentioning them.
I narrowed my eyes as I kept listening.
I can't lose my calm, I need to keep listening in to see if they have any important information.
I noticed Demetri looking at me worriedly.
I ignored his look of concern and kept my attention at the rebel group.
"The witch twins?! That's preposterous! They are too strong, one can give us unmeasurable pain and the other can take away our senses!" The brunette female vampire exclaims.
"I am well aware of their gifts." Roberto replies. "But they are twins, if you kill one the other one will be too distraught and be easy to dispose."
The vampires look at each other and slowly nod, agreeing with him.
I feel an uncontrollable rage inside of me and without a second thought I quietly dash towards them.
"Seraphina!" Demetri whisper-yells but his voice is drowned by the wind as I run at max speed towards the rebel group.
I'm wasting my time by listening to them scheme, they obviously have no important information.
"Without the witch twins the Volturi will be weak and be easily destroyed." Roberto says.
"Aw, I'm not even in your hit list? I feel offended." I say, hiding the shadows.
They quickly start looking in all directions.
"Who said that?!" Roberto says.
Before any of them could blink, I grabbed Roberto by the throat.
"Me." I say darkly.
The vampires run to me but I create a wall of flames around me.
Shocked gasps are heard throughout the clearing.
Roberto eyes were the widest as he struggled to speak.
"W-who are y-you...?!"
I chuckle darkly and put more pressure in his throat.
"The Fire witch." I answer him.
His eyes are filled with fear as he shakily asks, "W-what have I done to y-you?"
I glare at him, "You are targeting my mate."
His eyes widen in realization as he sputters in fear.
"And for that you must die." I say menacingly.
With a simple motion, I rip his head from his body and threw it to the raging fire.
The remaining vampires gasp and scream and quickly try to escape but are stopped by a wall of fire appearing in the clearing blocking their escape.
I look at each vampire before smirking.
"Lets play."
Ohh Seraphina will finally be able to play~
Hopefully the violence doesn't turn anybody off, if it does then I will ask for you to skip the parts of the fight in the next chapter.
Anyways hope you liked this chapter! Please do leave me comments! I love hearing your opinions!
