Chapter 36
Last time, Team RWBY has discovered that the world has been messing with their semblances with Blake being able to make sentient clones, Weiss is able to use glyphs with different powers based-on Pokemon types, Ruby can accelerate the growth of plants and sprout flowers when her rose petals touch the ground or zooms by, and Yang is able to punch fire with temperatures based-on how much damage she takes. In order to understand what is going on, they must seek out the Aura Guardians, people that can use their aura in similar ways to Huntsmen back on Remnant. Yet despite that, Weiss and Blake are entering a Pokemon Showcase that is about to begin!

Back on the Pokemon Showcase, Pierre says that the theme performance will be flower arranging.
"The rules are simple. The performer and her Pokemon must arrange the most beautiful flowers in a way that reflects themselves and how well they work and coordinate with their arrangement. As for the judging..." Pierre pulls out a glowcaster from his pocket, "Will be the audience! That is correct. The audience will decide on the perfect arrangement. The one with the highest score can move on to the freestyle performance. And the winner of the freestyle performance gets to win a Princess Key, in order to participate in the Grand Festival in order to become the next New Found Queen."
Pierre's Klefki comes off his staff and show the type of key the performers will win. The key is made of a green metal with swirling silver cherry blossoms on a pink orb and the rim between the stem part and the end part having different flowers made from various jewels such as rubies, cobalt, emeralds, amber, and amythest.
"However, the performer and her Pokemon are forbidden to communicate as they make their flower arrangement behind the curtains. They have ten minutes to complete their arrangement before the curtain rises."
Three sets of curtains rise up with each representing the color of the coordinators along with some patterns. The one on the right is blue with Arabian star designs on it with waves. The middle curtain is white with glittering snowflakes. The one on the left is green with sunflowers all over.
"Now lets introduce our princesses. Lilian, Weiss and Jasmine."
Three girls and their Pokemon started to rise up on the stage with all of them wearing pink, frilly aprons yet wearing shirts that represent their colors. Weiss is there with Monarch along with one girl with blonde ringlet locks, green eyes and has a Sunflora while another seems to have a tan complexion with black hair and brown hair while having something that looks like a sheep yet covered in fluffy black wool. It has yellow horns on its head and cloven yellow hooves. It has red eyes and a generally angry expression.
"Hey, Weiss is up." Ruby is excited to see Weiss on stage.
"What are those?" Yang asks.
Ruby pulls out her Megadex to find out. She learns about the Sunflora and a Pokemon called, Baashaun.
Baashaun. The hard horn Pokemon. Dark and fighting-type. It loves to fight dirty, and uses dark-type attacks to destroy its foes. They are found in gangs of 20 or more.
"Yikes." Ruby is a little frightened of the black sheep. "Wouldn't want to meet one of those in the woods at night."
Yang states, "It its horns and hooves were white, you might mistake it for a Grimm."
"But that Sunflora looks nice, but it kinda gives me the creeps." Ruby has a large sweat drop on the back of her head.
Yang has the same, "Yeah. No kidding."
Pierre counts down, "Un, deux, trois! Begin!"
The holographic hourglass appears and starts counting down. The performers choose a wide variety of flowers that are chosen as they try to figure out which of them to choose and how to arrange them in the amount of time they have left. Weiss picks out some white roses while Monarch picked out some wisterias. Weiss looks and nods at Monarch. Lilian and her Sunflora picked out some colorful tulips for their arrangement. Jasmine and her Baashaun picked out blue lotus flowers with purple orchids. After four minutes of picking flowers, all of them head to their curtains and arrange them. Inside are a large variety of different bases with different designs and colors along with everything needed to keep the flowers up, where to stick them and everything needed for their displays.
In the audience, Ruby is worrying, "Weiss chose nothing but white flowers. Hope that won't effect her score."
"Remember, it is how she displays them, not just how colorful it is." Yang reminds Ruby but she has some doubts, 'At least I hope.'
Weiss and Monarch are working hard on their arrangement as Weiss makes some last minute alterations with Monarch helping. Weiss is starting to sweat with the pressure on her in her white curtains. Lilian joyfully arrange her set with her Sunflora helping out in her green curtains. She is getting an urge to hum a tune, but remembers that she is not to make a sound. Jasmine gracefully arrange hers with skill and precision with Baashaun helping out...in a way giving how Baashauns are. Above the stage, the hourglass is counting down its last seconds before it turns red and time is up with a loud jingling tune.
"Times up!"
In the curtains, Weiss wipes the sweat from her brow.
Lilian says with a smile on her face, "There. Perfect." as Sunflora dance for joy.
Jasmine sighs in relief, "I hope it'll be alright."
"And now, let's see what our beautiful performers have made."
The curtains rise up to unveil what the performers have made. When they see it, they are at awe with what they see.
For Weiss, she has the lower section of her arrangement full of lily-of-the-valley flowers with wisterias attached to them and some draping at the edge of the table. In the mid section, she has white roses towering up yet have the lower section having white tulips with a ring of jasmines above it. The mid section has white hydrangeas sticking out in uniform fashion. The top has some daffodils and white foxgloves while having snowflake decorations on them. All the flowers are covered in sparkly glitter that gives it the illusion of freshly fallen snow.
For Lilian's display, she has black roses at the base followed by a ring of violet wisterias and ipomoea. Above that are blue hydrangeas with hyacinths popping out of the tops of the hydrangeas. Above that are bells-or-Ireland ringed around green calla lilies. That is followed by yellow marigolds with yellow tulips in a wavy pattern. That is followed by orange chrysanthemums, orange California poppies, and orange carnations set in uniform fashion. On top of that is red roses with red sage flowers on top of the roses and at the very stop of this cone are sunflowers. Yet many of them look like they have water droplets on them as if they were in the rain. It looks like a rainbow raying down from the sun into blacken soil.
As for Jasmine's display, the bottom shows bonzai trees with blue lotus on the top of them in a ring in a vase that is brown yet with blue swirls on it. Inside the ring of bonzai and lotus flowers, there are six bamboo sticks going upwards. Along it are vines that are decorated with purple orchids, blood lilies, pink and white desert roses, yarrow flowers, desert marigolds, and purple sand verbena. This arrangement gives it an alluring exotic beauty that draws people in and the desert flowers suggests that she is from a desert area yet plenty of flora on it. Yet the bonzai trees and bamboo gives it a nice touch, but Jasmine seems disappointed at it. As if she is missing something from it.
"My, what marvelous displays they are."
"Looks like a tough competition." Ruby says as she looks at the arrangements, "What do you think, Yang?"
"Weiss' flowers may look plain and white but arranged and decorated in a way that makes it look like newly fallen snow." Yang gives her statement, "So pretty and elegant, just like her. But Lilian's display reminds me of a rainbow in mid-summer after a rainy shower. Although Jasmine has quite the lovely display that cause many to fixate on her display. Although, she looks like she has something missing from it. Like some sort of flower she couldn't find."
"Really?" Ruby seems perplexed about what Jasmine is trying to do but thought of something, "Wait a minute, isn't Jasmine's name the same as a flower?"
"It is." Then Yang came to the same conclusion that Ruby made, "Maybe that's why she doesn't like her display. Because the flower she's name after isn't among them."
"So that particular flower is precious to her in some way."
"Now mesdames and messieurs of the audience. You have three minutes to decide on which arrangement do you believe is the best display that shows the unity between the princess and her Pokemon."
On the holographic screen, a three minute countdown timer appears and the audience have to judge for themselves to see which display is the best. Some of the audience whisper to each other to see which one of these arrangements best describe the uniqueness of the bond between the Pokemon and their performer. But Ruby and Yang already know who are they deciding. When the clock has counted down, everyone has their glowcasters and cast their votes. They cast their votes as multiple light orbs go to the heart jewels that collects these orbs. White for Weiss, green for Lilian and blue for Jasmine. Ruby and Yang are amazed by all the glowing orbs heading straight towards the performers. Above them are heart-shaped holograms that measure the amount of orbs that came to their jewels. Weiss looks up and sees the heart being filled up and is astonished by the amount of votes she is receiving. After a few seconds, the last of the orbs were gathered and it is now time to see who the winner is.
"And the winner of the first round of the theme performance is...Weiss! Lady Weiss moves on to the performance round!"
Weiss wins in a close match. She won by one vote above Jasmine and two over Lilian. Lilian drops to the floor and her Sunflora gives her a handkerchief and cheer her up.
Jasmine sighs, "Oh well." She looks at the top of her bamboo arrangement, 'Too bad this part of the competition doesn't have the flowers I treasure above all.' Yet she looks at Weiss, 'Although. That girl, Weiss, is just as beautiful as the jasmine flowers back home. Yet I wonder...'
Ruby jumps from her seat, "SHE DID IIIIIITTT!"
"WOO!" Yang cheers, "THAT'S OUR ICE QUEEN!"
Weiss heard that among the cheering and is a bit upset by that, but smiles and waves. She leaves the stage and prepares for the performance round.
"Those were marvelous displays! But keep in mind that what you saw was the first round. There is still more to come!"
AN: Okay, I'm not gonna go into detail about these Pokemon coming up but you can check them out.
The next round shows one girl with her Glachild, another girl with a unique Pokemon called Petshop, and another with an Oddish. The girl with the Glachild won with a flower arrangement looking like a snowman with white and blue flowers with black buttons, eyes and mouth made of black roses and the nose made of small buttercups and marigolds while sprinkled with powdered snow. The next round shows one girl with a Swirlix, one girl with a Pawter, and one girl with an Aipom. The girl with a Pawter won with the flower arrangement looking similar to Pawter with blue, violet and indigo flowers. Another round goes by with one girl having a Golkid, one girl has a Bulbasaur, and another girl has a Nupin. The girl with the Bulbasaur won by created a giant rose with petals comprised of different colored roses.
Glachild. The snow child Pokemon. Ice-type. If it senses danger, it will burrow into the snow and wait. In the meantime, it will live off a diet of snow.
Petshop. The falcon Pokemon. Flying and dark-type. It has a strong bill, sharp talons, and excellent eyesight. It is loyal and highly intelligent, and can summon icicles to crush its opponents.
Pawter. The puppy Pokemon. Water-type. A loyal companion and a skilled swimmer, Pawter is a common partner for sailors and lifeguards. It can detect storms and warn others before they arrive.
Golkid. The golem Pokemon. Rock-type. Golkid are ancient Pokémon created as helpers. Throughout centuries, it has always assisted people in building constructions that were too big for human hands.
Nupin. The germ Pokemon. Grass-type. Nupin is the largest single-celled organism on the planet. It obtains energy from photosynthesis.
AN: Glachild is from Pokemon Vega. Petshop is from Pokemon Empyrean. Pawter is from Pokemon Sage. Nupin is from Pokemon Uranium. And this is only half the list of Pokemon fan games I do know with Fakemon in them. And for those that are thinking: "Is this the same Petshop from JoJo's Bizarre Adventures?" Yes. Yes it is.
Ruby and Yang look over at their Megadexes after learning so many new Pokemon.
"Man." Yang is astonished, "Who knew that you can learn so much in a Pokemon Showcase."
Ruby is smiling, "I know, right? Plus there are some cute ones too." Yet she switches over to the one about Petshop which causes her smile to drop, "But this Petshop one gives me the creeps."
Yang shutters when she sees the picture of Petshop. What freaks her out is the way Petshop's eyes are staring into her. Like they are staring into her soul.
Yet despite that, Blake's turn is up and she is using her Frogadier. She appears on the stage with her competition.
"Alright!" Yang is excited, "You go Blake!"
Ruby waves her tiny red 'RWBY' flag as she cheers, "Go for the gold, Blake!"
Now it is Blake's turn to try to make it through the theme performance. What kind of flower arrangement will she create? Will she be able to move on to the freestyle performance and face off against Weiss? Or will she fail? Tune in next time to see if she can make it!
