Chapter 37
Last time, Team RWBY are at the Brazil City Pokemon Showcase where Weiss and Blake are participating. Weiss won the first round by using a very winter-themed flower arrangement that is all white and sparkly. After a few more rounds, Blake is up next. Let's see what she has up her sleeve.

Ruby cheers, "Go for it, Blake!"
Yang cheers, "You go girl!"
Blake is on stage next to her Frogadier and she is a bit embarrassed. Also on stage are two other girls with one having a Pokemon that looks like a plant in a glass bowl full of water along with eyes and a mouth in that bowl called, a Snalo. The other has a pink round body with a yellow bottom and feet, a leafy hat on its head with a tiny pink berry on it called, a Jamberree.
Snalo. The aloe Pokemon. Water and grass-type. It is a popular choice of Pokémon amongst office workers due to its power to quickly and efficiently relieve stress.
Jamberree. The strawberry Pokemon. Grass-type. The berry attached to this Pokémon's head is sweet and nutritious. It is a favourite snack among forest Pokémon.
AN: Both of these Pokemon are from Pokemon Vega. Plus I'm also skipping some details to move along and get to the freestyle-performance. So, yeah, you can probably guess who is going on.
Ruby is going all heart-eye on the Jamberree, "A strawberry Pokemon. And it is super cute."
Yang looks at the Snalo, "Yet that Snalo looks like something out a sci-fi movie. But hey, it can relieve stress which we could use it on the snow queen."
Ruby looks away and whispers to herself, "You should get one too."
Yang's eyes turns red as she gets angry at Ruby, "What was that?!"
"Nothing."
Blake is already at work with Frogadier as she uses bamboo, black roses, red spider lilies, yellow daffodils, white wisterias, and using a jade vase. The girl with the Snalo is more interested in the different colored roses, pink poppies, blue sages and vervain while also using a wide glass base of some sort. The girl with the Jamberree seems to be using a woven basket while using white calla lilies, orange marigolds, common sunflowers, pink wisteria and purple sage. The three are hard at work in the curtain as they try to make the best flower arrangement they can make. Blake and Frogadier are being calm, cool and collective as they make their arrangement. The girl with the Snalo is being calm yet her hands are a little shaky when using her scissors with Snalo being just as nervous. The girl with the Jamberree are already setting up their arrangement.
In the audience, Ruby asks Yang, "So what kind of arrangement do you think they're working on, Yang?"
Yang acts like an MC, "Well, Ruby, Blake is always cool and calm when it comes to whatever she is going unlike the snow queen. Yet the other girls may try something that will one-up Blake with whatever they have plan. The Snalo may be incorporated into the arrangement since it does look like a plant in a glass bowl."
"Plus..." Ruby starts to blush a little as she thinks about the Jamberree in a towering flower arrangement, "I would like to see that cute strawberry Pokemon in the arrangement with all of its adorableness."
Yang smirks at Ruby, "Probably eat it too."
Ruby angrily elbows Yang, "Not if its cute!"
"Well, you were being berry bashful."
Ruby groans and cross her arms from Yang's awful pun. That, and is a bit insulted by Yang's comment.
"Oh come on." Yang tries to nudge Ruby, "Would you like some actual strawberries as an apology?"
Ruby maybe looking away from Yang, but smiles while looking through the corner of her eyes, "Sure."
The hourglass above has run out and disappears.
"Times up!" Pierre announces. "Now raise the curtains."
The curtains are raise to show what the girls have. Many are at awe at what they see. First is Blake and her Frogadier. They made a special arrangement with bamboo stick standing upwards yet have black roses at the top. However, the bottom of the black roses have daffodils with wisterias looking like they are coming out and circling the bamboo with spider lilies on them. At the top, Frogadier stands in a ninja pose above the black roses with one in its mouth. The bottom is made of gravel and are raked in a circular pattern, almost like an elegant Japanese-style gravel garden. The girl with the Snalo created a pattern with her arrangement. In one corner, there are pink roses and blue sage pattern like tiger stripes. One corner has red roses with pink poppies in a similar pattern to jaguar spots. Another corner has poppies and red roses that form a pattern similar to leopard spots and the last corner has blue sage and yellow roses that form cheetah spots. At the center, Snalo is there with vervains sticking out and holding some. The girl with a Jamberree has her Pokemon in the basket with a ring of sunflowers on its head, marigolds and purple sage in the basket, yet has calla lilies on the edges with the wisterias coming out of it and swirl around the basket. Everyone is impressed by these creative designs and have their Pokemon part of the arrangement.
"Mon dieu!" Pierre is impressed by what he sees, "These are the most merveilleux displays I've seen! Such beauty! Such wonder! This is what I call a Showcase!"
Everyone in the audience cheer for such magnificent displays.
"However," the audience stops, "there can be only one winner. Who will it be? Cast your votes before time is up."
Everyone is already having a tough choice to make. Yet Yang and Ruby already cast their votes to Blake, but everyone else is having a hard time. Blake's gives off a more exotic feeling and wonder. The one with the Snalo is very beautiful and creative yet the one with Jamberree is a bit more with Jamberree (according to Ruby) shows off its cuteness along with some creativity with the basket. So it is a hard decision. But with time running out, they have to make a decision quick. So many cast their votes. Many light orbs that are purple, green and yellow fly over to the heart jewels and the holograms of hearts over them started to get full. When the last light orb is gone, the votes are in.
"And the winner of this round for the theme performance is...Blake Belladonna!"
"Yes!" Yang pumps.
Ruby jumps up from her chair, "Way to go, Blake!"
The crowd cheers for Blake's victory as she takes a sigh of relief. She has won by two votes above the others.
"Madam Blake moves on to the freestyle performance!"
In the dressing room, Weiss says to Blake, "Congratulations on making it, Blake." She gives her a warm and sincere smile to her.
Blake sits down and sighs, "This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I haven't done stuff like this since I was six and watching my mom." She looks at Weiss, "How do you do this?"
"Do what?"
"The stage, the crowd, the performances that you had to do when you did concerts back on Remnant. Is this what it feels like?"
"Close. But I did some singing and played the piano a few times with everyone watching. This is a little different. This time, we have to do whatever the theme is supposed to be followed by dancing and maybe acrobatics and whatnot."
"Acrobatics I can do, but not sure about dancing."
"Then how about something similar to Mistral? You love that stuff back home."
"True, and it does go well with the theme I'm using."
"And we've been practicing our little hearts out for days. Now is not the time for cold feet."
"But I'm just saying-"
Weiss stands, "But nothing! You must continue on and fight!"
"Uhhhh..."
One of the assistance comes in the room, "Excuse me, Weiss Schnee? You're up first."
Weiss gets up and heads out. But she peeks her head through the door, "And by the way; make sure you give everything you got." and close the door.
"Ooo...kay." Blake is a little dumbstruck by Weiss considers advice.
On stage, Monsieur Pierre announces the freestyle performance, "Mesdames et Messieurs, you have judged many flower arrangements as part of our theme performance. But now, it is time for the freestyle performance!"
The audience cheer.
"Now, please give a warm welcome for...Princess Weiss!"
The spotlight shines on stage as the audience cheer for Weiss appearing on stage in her costume with Nicholas being a Vaporean with a red bow tie and a tiny blue top hat. Vert is wearing a pink ribbon in her head with an emerald on it, Cutsie is wearing tiny adorable pink bows on her antennas, Kitty is wearing an orange bowler hat yet is also carrying some sort of fabric that is black on one side and red on the other. Monarch is wearing a bow tie as well yet green in color. They stand in a row and bow to the audience before they start the show.
Weiss looks at her Pokemon, "Alright guys. Hit it!"
Music is playing as her Pokemon started dancing around. Weiss is dancing too in a form of freestyle ballet. Vert uses magical leaf with Cutsie using silver wind that destroys the magical leafs. However, instead of explosions, the glowing green leaves are cut in ribbons and make pretty silver sparkles that Monarch uses gust to blow it towards the audience. The audience are at awe with the glowing ribbons and sparkles. Then it is followed by Monarch's moonblast and Nicholas' aurora beam made contact over the stage that created a beautiful pink aurora. Cutsie uses fairy wind, Nicholas uses water gun and Vert uses stun spore as Kitty unrolls the cloth she was using that captures a combination of pink sparkles with some wet particles and golden particles before using fury swipes that cuts the cloth and turned it into a cape. Then Kitty uses charm on the audience along with a wink. People became captivated by Kitty's new look and cute charms. Then it finishes with Monarch uses psybeam, Nicholas uses aurora beam, and Cutsie uses pollen puff into the air. A multicolored explosion appeared over the audience that produce an aurora. Yet delicious, glowing, multicolored pollen puffs come raining down on the audience. Some glow blue, some magenta, some red and many different colors. Weiss and her Pokemon pose as Kitty is being held by Weiss' left hand and Monarch on Kitty's hat, Nicholas uses water gun like those water party tricks with Cutsie dancing and Vert appearing at the bottom with a wink.
Some people try the pollen puff and finds out that it is delicious and makes their tongues glow and sparkle. With that, they give a thunderous applause for Weiss' performance.
"What a fantastique performance!" Pierre speaks with excitement in his voice but his mouth glowing blue, "What a magnifique way to start the freestyle performance! Princess Weiss not only do a wonderful performance, but also provided wondrous treats for the audience!"
Ruby claps her hands while saying with her tongue glowing red, "Now that. Was. AWESOME!"
Yang is also clapping for Weiss while saying with her tongue glowing yellow, "Guessing the ice queen would a pollen puff to beat. Hope Blake can think outside the box like that. Even though she enjoys being in one."
Ruby laughs.
Yang looks at Ruby and points her fingers, "Gottcha!"
Ruby goes, "Okay, okay. You got me there. But it wasn't the pun."
"Blake in a box?"
"Blake in a box."
Blake is watching the television in the dressing room and saw Weiss' performance. 'I can't believe Weiss managed to pull something off like that. Her moves, the way she managed to win the crowd, the stuff she manages to pull after countless hours of practice.' Blake tightens her right hand on her chest, 'I hope my performance will go just as well.' Blake gets a determine expression on her, 'Right.'
A few more performances have passed with many of them not as imaginative as Weiss was but very entertaining nonetheless. Yet there was one where the performer messed-up and cramped her leg. She was taken to see the medics and lost her spot. Then it became Blake's turn.
"And now, our final round of the freestyle performance. Please give it up for our final performer, Blake Belladonna!"
Will Blake succeed and move on? Or crash and burn? If she does succeed, will Weiss be the victor or Blake? Stay tune to find out more!
AN: Hey everyone! Hope you guys are doing alright despite what is happening. And in case I forget along the way; Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. Just in case I forget to type those down since holidays are the worst when you're working in an office employment. Good news is, I got a new job over at American First and starting my new position soon.
