Chapter 44
"Wait you're what?" Becky asked slightly confused as she stood crouched in front of Dean with her hands balanced on his knees while he sat on the porch.
The two were still sitting on the front porch talking after the Helmsley family went inside when Dean explained what Becky's last Christmas gift was. Dean ran his hands down his face while Becky stared at him confused, "I'm going to give you my lung"
"Ha...uh" Becky said as she stood to full height and waved her hands at Dean, "no...you're not"
"Ha...uh" Dean laughed sarcastically before he stood up as well, "Yes...I am"
"Dean you are not giving me your lung" Becky said seriously
"Well then it's gonna be awkward when I show up to surgery to give you my lung" Dean laughed but Becky glared at him. Dean just smiled and grabbed Becky's hands and pulled her into him before saying, "Look babe...the doctors said you need both your lungs because of your previous injuries and because of your fighting-"
"Dean the doctors said that I could live just fine without my other lung" Becky said interrupting Dean as she pulled away from him
"Yeah but I don't want you too. I want you to be active and not worry about a missing lung. Especially when you have a list of potential fights coming up"
"No Dean I'm done. I'm not fighting and I'm not taking your lung" Becky said seriously, "You know why?"
"Why?"
"Because A. this is crazy you're not going through surgery for me, B. YOU need your lung and C. we don't even know if it will be a match"
"I know" Dean said with a bright smile, "I did the tests with Finn's uncle"
"Dean I-"Becky started but Dean stopped her
"I'm a match babe." Dean smiled but Becky just crosses her arms and frowned at him, "This is the moment you're supposed to be like...oh my god babe your so amazing and wonderful and I'm so grateful that you're giving me an extra lung so I can...ya know breathe and stuff"
"This isn't funny Dean. I don't want you to give me your lung. You need it just as much as I do. Besides I feel guilty enough for all the awesome stuff you do for me, I don't need lung added to that long...long list," Becky said sadly causing Dean to stop and look at her
"I make you feel guilty?"
"No that's not...I mean." Becky ran her hand down her face before looking at Dean, "Yes...but in a good way"
"In a good way?"
"I love you Dean. You are so freaking perfect sometimes and you do amazing things for me all the time like all the gifts and you stuck by me during all of my fights and you never gave up on me when I shut you out and I-" Becky paused and looked at Dean for a second, "sometimes I feel like a really shitty girlfriend"
Dean gave Becky a sad smile before pulling her into a tight hug. He held her tightly before placing a kiss on her forehead, "you are not a shitty girlfriend. You are literally the best girlfriend in the world."
"Dean-"
"No babe I'm serious. You are the best thing in my life right now...except for my signed baseball cards. Remember the ones that I got when we were kids and we went on that trip to the baseball stadium? Those things are priceless." Becky punched Dean in his shoulder causing him to laugh, "But I'm serious. I love you, like I told your sister, you are the someone that walked into my life and changed everything. Rebecca Helmsley you are the most perfect thing in my life, you made me better and I love every inch of you. I love the way you smile, the way you laugh. I love the way you make everything around you better. Honestly there is not another woman in the world that I could picture spending my time with. I want to give you my time, my soul and my love Bex because I love you more than anything. I love you so-"
Becky cut him off by taking her hands and grabbing either side of Dean's face before pulling him into a deep kiss. Once they pulled away Becky smiled, "I love you too"
"Really? I did not know that" Dean joked before kissing Becky once more, "Look Bex I want to give you my lung...I mean you already have my heart. Might as well have my lung too"
Dean laughed and pulled Becky into his lap as he sat down on the porch steps. Dean held Becky in his lap and rocked her slightly while the redhead nestled her head into his chest, "Dean I don't want to do the surgery."
"Becky I-"
"NOT because you're an idiot who wants to give me your lung..even though I can not stress enough how much of an idiot you are, but because I don't want to...do surgery"
"Technically the doctors do the surgery" Dean smiled
"I am not joking Dean. I've had surgery twice in my life and both times fucking sucked. You know most people don't have two surgeries before they turn 16."
"You're not most people babe. Just think about how awesome a story this will be to tell our future children" Dean smiled
"Our future children?"
"Yeah I mean we are a long...long way away from that but...I want it to happen, with you" Dean smiled, "I couldn't think of anyone else I'd spend the rest of my life with"
Becky kissed Dean and smiled against his lips, "I love you so much...and you're a huge sap"
Becky smiled and patted Dean on the chest before she stood and watched as Dean followed suit. He smirked at her before walking down the porch steps, "I had an amazing time tonight. Probably the best Christmas I've had in a long time. So thank you babe, really"
Before Becky could say anything the front door opened and Charlotte pokes her head out, "Hey Dean you heading out?"
"Yeah uh...it's getting late so…" Dean trailed off as Charlotte stepped out onto the porch and smiled at him, "Uh...congrats again...or uh welcome back? I don't really know what to say in these situations"
Becky snickered as her boyfriend looked at her confused while Charlotte waved it off, "Welcome back is fine. I see you've been taking care of my sister while I was gone."
"I try" Dean said as he smiled at Becky before he looked back to the older girl, "uh well it was good to see you."
"You too Dean"
Dean looked to Becky before smiling, "I'll talk to you tomorrow babe."
"Talk to you tomorrow" Becky smiled
"Oh and our other conversation...isn't over" Dean said motioning to his body before he turned and started walking off
Charlotte and Becky watched Dean until they couldn't see him walking anymore before the blonde turned to her younger sister with a raised eyebrow, "other conversation? Should I be worried?"
"It's not as sexy as you think" Becky said as she rolled her eyes, "He wants to give me his lung"
"Oh yeah...that's definitely not sexy" Charlotte said causing Becky to laugh before the two stood in silence until Becky smirked and turned to her sister.
"I missed you" Becky muttered before she hugged her older sister tightly
"I missed you too." Charlotte said with a smile, "now come on...let's get back inside. I came out here to get you anyway"
The next day
The Helmsley family was a little busy the day after Christmas. It was only one in the afternoon and already almost everyone was out of the house. Shane had taken Vince and Linda out for a day in the town while Hunter had to go into work and finalize some last minute deals. Bayley was out at the arcade with her birth mother and biological sister and Sasha was getting ready for her date with Seth, which was only approved by Stephanie because Shane said he would go check on the two at the restaurant later on. Stephanie much rather would have just chaperoned herself or just flat out refused to let Sasha go on the date but Hunter already agreed since Shane would check in and Stephanie had yet to tell him about what actually happened with Seth and Sasha. The woman didn't know if she would ever tell her husband for fear of him killing the young boy. Also, Stephanie didn't know all the facts from that night, and she wasn't sure she wanted to know.
However, the only reason she wasn't going along with Sasha and Seth on their date was because she had to take Charlotte to a psychologist, per the rehab's suggestion. They told Vince that Charlotte needed to see someone to properly diagnose the girl with whatever she may or may not have so that's what they were doing today. While Becky, was just going to be at home cleaning, much to her disappointment.
The redhead was currently trying to avoid her chores as she sat on the couch watching TV when the doorbell rang causing Becky to roll her eyes before she hopped off the couch and walked to the front door. However, once she opened the door she saw Seth standing there causing her to frown and immediately shut the door in his face. The girl rolled her eyes and turned around to walk away but the doorbell rang again.
"Becky answer the door!" Stephanie called out from the kitchen
"There's no one there!" Becky shouted as she started to walk away but the doorbell rang again causing Sasha to come down the stairs and glare at her sister. The older girl was dressed in a long grey sweater that covered her slightly bulging stomach and a pair of jeans tucked away in a pair of dark knee-length boots.
"You're childish" Sasha said as she brushed pass Becky and opened the door, "Hey babe"
"Hey" Seth greeted while Becky simply rolled her eyes and walked to the kitchen to get as far away from the couple as she could, "you ready for our date?"
Becky make a fake gagging noise as she made her way into the kitchen and slid into a seat at the island causing Stephanie to look at her confused, "Who was it?"
"Boy wonder" Becky said sarcastically causing Charlotte to snicker as she turned off the stove she had been cooking on.
The blonde had woken up bright and early to cook the whole family breakfast, which included, french toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon and fruit. However, the girl didn't seem to stop cooking, even after everyone ate Charlotte continued to cook things, even though her parents told her it was not necessary. Charlotte explained that she liked cooking, it helped her clear her mind while she was away, and she had gotten into the habit of cooking a lot for a lot of people so it was nice to keep up the routine.
Stephanie excused herself and left the kitchen to go speak to Seth and her daughter, leaving Charlotte and Becky to themselves for a minute. The redhead looked over her older sister and the blonde did the same before asking, "What?"
"Nothing...it's just weird seeing you" Becky said with a small smile
"Good weird or…?"
"Good. Definitely. Things were...stressful without you" Becky said in a timid voice while Charlotte moved around the kitchen to wash her hands before she grabbed and towel and looked at Becky
"Well I'm back, and don't think I forgot about our little conversation at the center." The blonde looked at the redhead seriously, "What's going through your head. Talk to me."
Becky shrugged, "Nothing just stuff with Dean"
"The whole lung thing?"
"Yeah" Becky rolled her eyes, "I don't want him to do that for me. I don't want to do the surgery at all"
"Well I thought the doctors said that you might not need the surgery" Charlotte said as she put the towel back and leaned against the counter, facing her sister.
"They said it would be best if I did. With my previous lung issues and the amount of physical activity I participate in...it would be wise to get the surgery."
Charlotte nodded at this, "Physical activity? Meaning your fighting?"
"Yeah."
"Well you're not going to be fighting anymore. I mean that's out of the question" Becky didn't respond to this causing Charlotte to look at her sharply with a shocked look, "Becky!"
"What?"
"YOU ARE NOT-"
"Can you please be a little quieter?" Becky whispered sharply before looking back to the entrance of the kitchen to see if their mother was coming back, "There's this girl…"
"No"
"You don't even know what I was about to say" Becky whined
"I don't need to Becky. You aren't going to fight some girl" Charlotte said before rolling her eyes
"Ugh, it's not just some girl. It's Ronda Rousey" Becky said in an annoyed tone but Charlotte just continued to stare at her younger sister confused, "She's Shayna and her goons' friend. The ones who attacked me...the ones who shot me. She's been training at uncle Shane's gym."
"So let me get this straight. You want to fight another one of those girls?"
"I don't want to fight her...well I do but she's asking for it. You should've seen the look on her face when I saw her at the gym." Becky said angrily
"Wait...when was this?"
"When me and dad went to go see you at the rehab we went to Uncle Shane's gym and she was there. She knew who I was and she was the one who wanted to fight me. She said once she's done with me I'll be much worse off than what Shayna and her friends did."
"And you want to fight her?"
"I'm not scared of her!"
"I didn't say you were. I just...your lung. It's not...it can't…" Charlotte trailed off and Becky sighed before she hopped off the kitchen stool and crossed her arms over her chest.
"I know that. I don't wanna fight. I'm not going to fight anymore...but if I could, and if I did. It would be against her." Becky said and Charlotte went to say something more but stopped when Stephanie entered the kitchen.
"Becky, what are you still doing standing around. I need this house to be cleaned up, dishes washed and laundry done while we're all out" Stephanie said, placing a hand on the redhead's shoulder
Becky groaned while Charlotte turned to look at her younger sibling with a smirk, "Hey look on the bright side...you get the whole house to yourself"
"whatever. I hate doing chores" Becky said as she stuck her tongue out at her sister before she spun around to face her mother with a glare, "I hate cleaning."
"Too bad." Stephanie said before looking at Charlotte, "Are you ready?"
"Yeah" Charlotte said before she moved around the counter and exited the kitchen with a small wave to her sister who just groaned.
"Don't think of this as punishment" Stephanie said with a sad smile
"It sure does feel like it" Becky said rolling her eyes at her mother
"Well...you did sneak out of the house multiple times to compete in an illegal underground fighting ring, run away from home, elbow your father in the face and beat up three girls so…" Stephanie said as she held Becky's shoulders
"So this is punishment?" Becky asked in a small voice
"No. Just a way to keep you busy." Stephanie said before placing a kiss on the girl's forehead, "I'll be back soon, and this house better be clean. No leaving. Okay?"
"Sure mom, whatever you say" Becky said sadly before she followed after her mother as she went to the front door where Charlotte was putting on a pair of grey sneakers to matching her long grey trench coat.
Stephanie pulled on a tan fur coat and zipped it up before saying a quick goodbye to Becky as the two headed out. Becky watched them as the door closed before groaning loudly. This sucked.
With Bayley
"Hey!" Bayley said as she slid into a booth at a local arcade
She sat across from her birth mother who was dressed in a loose grey v-neck and a light pair of blue jeans while her hair was in a messy bun. She smiled brightly at Bayley's presence before greeting her, "Hey I'm glad you could make it"
"Yeah...it's not often arcades open the day after Christmas" Bayley said with a laugh as she looked around and the mildly busy arcade. There was a small crowd, not enough to get lost in but enough to create a buzz of energy about the place, "I've only been here once before but I was much younger then"
Pamela smiled, "I end up here a lot. It's Dakota's favorite place since her friend's father works here. She's over there actually. That's her with the light up shoes, her best friend Tegan is the one beside her"
Bayley looked over to see the small seven year old playing Dance Dance Revolution with another girl about her age. The two were wearing tie dye shirts and jeans and Dakota had light up shoes that change colors every time she stepped down. Bayley smiled at the girl before looking up as a waitress came over and asked if Bayley wanted anything to drink.
"Uh...a sprite is fine" Bayley said with a smile, "Actually uh...do you guys have root beer?"
"We do"
"I'll take that" The waitress nodded and walked off causing Bayley to look around before she noticed Pamela smiling into her own drink, "What?"
"Root beer was your father's favorite. I find it disgusting but he...he loved it" Pamela said as she held her straw while she drank her water.
Bayley gave a small smile and the two sat in silence until the waitress brought Bayley's drink. After a few sips Bayley suddenly thought, "Oh uh...I brought you some things"
"Me? Y-you didn't have to do that" Pamela said, slightly confused as Bayley moved to pull up the backpack she had brought with her.
"Well yesterday was Christmas...and it's not like a real thing. It's uh-" Bayley paused and thought for a second, "It's hard to explain. It's not really a gift kind of thing. It's just something that I needed to give you."
"Okay" Pamela said softly before Bayley pulled out a small box and handed it to her birth mother. It was a thick, wooden brown box that had initials carved into the bottom of it, "My music box?"
"I've had it since I was little. I must have taken it with me" Bayley said as she watched Pamela tear up a little as she opened the box to reveal a broken dancer's figurine and a bunch of letters, "These are some of the letters I wrote to you when I was younger. I told you about them the first time we met but I thought you should read them. Well, at least a few of them since I wrote to you everyday...but uh...these are just the most important ones. Birthdays, holidays...uh just sometimes when I really wanted to talk to you. I saved them in case I ever saw you again and since we were meeting I uh...ya know"
Pamela carefully picked up the stack of letters and skimmed through them before she ran her fingers over the figurine on box, "You know my mother gave me this box. Your father broke the figurine when we moved into our first apartment."
Bayley watched as Pamela quickly wiped tears from her eyes before she began reading a few of the letters, "Sorry about the hand writing…"
"You write like a musician" Pamela smiled, "Lucky for me I've lived with musicians, so I've seen some bad handwriting in my days"
Suddenly the waitress came over with a large cheese pizza causing Pamela to put the letters away and take the box off the table so she could put the food down. Pamela thanked her before saying, "I order pizza for the girls...i-is cheese fine?"
"Perfect" Pamela nodded at this before she excused herself and stood to go get Dakota and Tegan.
Bayley looked around and took in the arcade. It was dark and filled with neon lights, and a bunch of crowded games. Bayley smiled at her own memories of this place as she looked over at the games. After a few minutes a Pamela came back to the booth and the older woman smiled before saying, "Bayley this is Dakota"
"H-hi" Bayley stuttered while the young girl just smiled at her before turning to Tegan
"See Tegan I told you she was real!" Dakota said with a wide smile before looking to her new found sister, "I told her I had a sister and she didn't believe me. Tell her! Tell her! Tell her you're my sister!"
Bayley paused for a second, taken back by the girl's energy before smiling herself and saying, "y-yeah. Yeah I'm your sister"
Dakota smiled before sliding into the booth beside her mother while Tegan said she had to go. Pamela smiled at the young girl before saying, "I thought you were staying for food?"
"Sorry Ms. Kai my mom's here to take me to the dentist." Tegan said with a sad smile before looking over at her best friend, "I'll see you later D!"
"Bye Teg" Dakota said before turning her attention back to her sister, "So if you're my sister how come you don't live with me, mommy and daddy?"
Pamela took a sip of her water before saying, "I already told you bug...Bayley has her own family that takes care of her like how me and daddy take care of you"
"Really?" Dakota asked
"Yeah...I have another mother and father and I have sisters of my own" Bayley said softly
"But I'm your sister...are they my sisters too?"
"No sweetie" Pamela corrected, "Just Bayley. You know how you came out of my tummy...well so did Bayley but I couldn't take care of her so another family did, but that doesn't make her any less my child."
Dakota nodded at this and Bayley looked at her birth mother for a second, thinking over the woman's words before the older woman announced that they would say grace before eating. Dakota quietly said grace while Bayley sat there watching them, she never said grace with her family, they barely ever talked about religion or went to church. The four Helmsley daughters were too rowdy for that. They tried to go once when Bayley was younger but it didn't end well. Sasha complained the whole time, Becky fell asleep and snored during the sermon and Bayley cried because Sasha talked about the end of the world causing Sasha and Charlotte to get into an argument that led to them spilling holy water all over the front row. Needless to say, they never went back to that church again. Or any church for that matter.
"So Bayley, how was your Christmas?" Pamela asked, snapping Bayley out of her thoughts as the older woman began to serve Dakota a slice of pizza
Bayley shrugged, "It was pretty good. What about you guys?"
Dakota perked up and sat up on her knees before she eagerly began telling Bayley about what they did, "We got to open presents and watch movies and we made s'mores! Do you like s'mores ? I don't think you can be my sister if you don't like s'mores "
Bayley laughed, "Well lucky for me...I love s'mores"
Dakota smiled wide as she ate her pizza while Bayley grabbed her own slice and began to eat. The three talked and got to know each other better as Bayley learned that Dakota was on the soccer team with Tegan which is how they met and she was one of their star players. Since it was winter they played indoors in this big arena that had fake grass and two fields inside. Dakota told Bayley all about her likes and dislikes and how she had a stuffed animal named Diggs who was a stuffed bunny that she had since she was very little. Once they were done eating Dakota dragged Bayley over to the games and they played a few while Pamela watched on with a smile. Dakota played Dance Dance Revolution with Bayley and the older girl helped her play skee-ball and win a few tickets. Bayley also showed Dakota how to play some of the older games that Hunter had taught her like Space Invaders and Pacman before she played one of the crane machines and won her younger sister a stuffed Batman toy.
"Batman is my favorite!" Dakota said happily as she clutched the toy, "Thank you"
Bayley shrugged, "I'm just really good a crane games. I can show you my technique if you want"
"Really?" Dakota asked with wide eyes as she looked up at her sister in awe causing Bayley's heart to swell. She had never seen someone look up to her with such adoration. The girl blushed before nodding and ushering the younger girl over to the crane machine.
Bayley smiled as she began to show Dakota how to pick up the toys in the machine before she moved to the side of the game and began to instruct her sister on how far to move the crane, "There! Perfect! Press the button"
Dakota gave her a toothy grin before she smashed her hand down on the red button causing the crane to move and wrap around a stuffed unicorn. Bayley moved to stand beside her little sister as the crane picked up the toy and carried it over to the whole before effectively dropping it down the shoot for Dakota to grab. The seven year old cheered and eagerly reached in before pulling out the toy to show Bayley, "I did it I did it!"
"Very good Dakota" Bayley said before ruffing up the girl's hair as she began to guide her back to the table where Pamela was watching, "You're a pro"
"Mommy, Mommy look! Bayley won me a Batman and then she showed me how to win and I got a unicorn!" Dakota explained as she bounced around
Pamela gave a light chuckle and pulled the small girl into a hug before placing a kiss on her forehead, "I see baby girl, but it's time to go"
"Already?" Both Dakota and Bayley whined, taking Pamela back a little at how similar the two sounded
Pamela gave a sad smile before nodding, "Yeah. We have to get Bayley back to her own house and we still have to go to the shelter tonight. We promised your father that we would help out today"
Dakota nodded and slide moved around her mother before grabbing her jacket from the booth while Bayley gave her birth mother a confused look, "The shelter?"
"Dakota's father volunteers at the homeless shelter every Thursday and we promised to stop by and help" Pamela explained causing Bayley to stare at her in slight awe.
This woman was nothing like the horror stories she had heard before she met her. Her sisters had told her that this woman had tried to kill her and treated her like crap, which she did, but that was not the same woman who stood beside her. This woman went to church, had a daughter and husband who seemed happy and even volunteered at homeless shelters. Her family was never this...put together. They didn't go to church or volunteer, they barely did anything other than argue and deal with drama.
"Bayley?" Pamela asked, snapping Bayley out of her thoughts, "Are you alright sweetie?"
"Y-yeah...I'm fine" Bayley said with a smile before Dakota interrupted the two and grabbed Bayley's hand before eagerly saying
"Mommy can we show Bayley her present now?" Pamela laughed at her daughter's eagerness before nodding causing the young girl to practically drag her big sister out the arcade, saying a quick goodbye to Tegan's father as they left. Once they were outside Dakota dragged Bayley over to a small grey car before tugging on the door, "Mommy open the door!"
"Hold on bug" Pamela said as she fished out her keys and unlocked the car causing Dakota to smile and yank the door open before she climbed in and began looking around. After a few seconds Dakota pulled herself back out the car and handed Bayley a folder.
Bayley smiled and thanked the girl before opening it to see a bunch of child like drawings, all signed by Dakota causing her to laugh before Dakota explained that she drew them all herself. There were a bunch of drawings of dogs and sunsets, well that's at least what Bayley figured they were, and there were some family "portraits" that had stick figure versions of Dakota's family with Bayley included, "Thank you Dakota. These are all very good"
Dakota smiled brightly before she said, "That's not all!"
Dakota raced around to the trunk and looked at her mother expectantly while Bayley just looked confused. Pamela slowly walked over to the trunk and opened it causing Bayley to carefully walked around and look to see her birth mother pull out an old acoustic guitar. It was much like the one she had before that she had given away to Alexa but it was a usual light brown, this one was hand painted to look like a galaxy and it had a small signature in white on the bottom right hand corner.
"Woah" Bayley said in awe as Pamela handed it to her with a sad smile
"This was your father's guitar. I had it in storage...I could never get myself to throw it away." Pamela looked at her daughter with a smile as Bayley put down the folder of drawings and pulled the strap of the guitar to place it around her neck, "I'm glad I never did."
"Mommy said you could play" Dakota said happily while Bayley tuned the guitar and nodded
"Yeah I...I play" Bayley looked down at Dakota who stared at her with big eyes, "Do you want to hear something?"
Dakota nodded with an eager expression causing Bayley to laugh before she thought before she began to strum and sing her own version of Jingle Bell Rock since it was Christmas only yesterday. Dakota smiled at her and sung along with the parts that she knew while Pamela watched with a sad smile. Bayley's song had drawn a small crowd of people that happened to be either entering or leaving the arcade. They smiled and gathered around Bayley and Dakota, some recording while others watched with interest until Bayley finished. Once she was done, the crowd cheered and Dakota hugged Bayley happily.
"That was awesome. You play really good!" Dakota said while the crowd began to slowly disperse Dakota held Bayley's hand before looking to her mother and saying, "Bayley should play at the homeless shelter. Daddy always talks about how they need entertainment there during the holidays...Bayley could play."
"I don't know Bug. We'd have to ask Bayley's mom and we'd have to ask Bayley if she'd even want to perform" Pamela explain causing Dakota to frown
"I don't mind" Bayley said with a smile, "I can call my mom and ask."
Pamela looked at her oldest before asking, "Are you sure?"
"Yeah it's no problem" Bayley said before she pulled out her phone as she slung her guitar onto her back and began calling her mom.
With Sasha
Sasha and Seth had went to the burger place, had a good time and left immediately after Shane came and went. Sasha had overheard her mother talking to her uncle about him checking in on her around 3 so she and Seth ate and waited around for Shane to pop up. Luckily he couldn't stay and left after twenty minutes causing Seth to immediately suggest they head out.
Sasha was reluctant but Seth managed to convince her to leave and go somewhere with him but now that they were here Sasha was seriously regretted leaving the restaurant.
"Are you sure about this?" Sasha asked as she and Seth sat in the car which was parked in front of a large house.
There was music playing through the walls of the house and the front door was open as people freely flowed in and out. There were red cups on the lawn and a bunch of cars parked along the street and Sasha immediately began to have flashbacks. Seth slowly grabbed the girl's hand and placed a kiss on the back of it as he gave a small smirk, "Of course I'm sure babe. It's just a little kickback. This senior on the team got the whole house to himself while his family went to check on his grandparents."
"They just left him the day after Christmas?" Sasha asked unsurely while Seth just nodded and looked out the front of the car to watch as a couple drunkenly walked out the house.
The couple was young, about Sasha and Seth's ages, both had pale skin and blonde hair and the guy was five inches taller than the girl, but it looked like much more as he draped his whole body over her back as she drunkenly stumbled to the car. Sasha and Seth watched as the blonde boy pushed the girl up against the small red car in front of them and began to kiss on her neck as he roughly gripped her waist to keep her standing up straight. Sasha felt flashes of her time at the last party coming back.
Flashes of Seth kissing on her neck and mumbling in her ear flashed through her head. The purple, red and green lights of the party flooded her mind and she felt a cold sweat break out on the back of her neck. Sasha quickly jumped when Seth moved closer to her, and she stared at him with wide eyes before she stuttered, "Uh...I-I wanna go home"
"What? Come on babe. We just got here...literally. Why don't we go inside and-"
"NO!" Sasha yelled, cutting Seth off, "I just...I just wanna go home"
Seth placed his hand on Sasha's leg, resting just above her knee causing Sasha to clench her eyes shut as more flashes came into her head.
"Come on babe. Let's head upstairs"
"I don't think we're allowed upstairs Seth"
"It's fine babe. I got you"
"I-I don't feel too good...I think I wanna go home"
"That's just the alcohol talking. The Sasha I know and love would wanna stay. Don't you wanna stay?"
Sasha opened her eyes suddenly when she felt Seth kissing on her neck causing her to quickly push him away, "Seth I wanna go home!"
"What the fuck? Sasha what's your problem?" Seth snapped as he sat back in his seat
"Nothing I just...I wanna go home please take me home Seth" Sasha practically pleaded
The two sat in silence for a minute and Seth huffed and gripped the steering wheel. Sasha quickly wiped a tear that fell from her eye before Seth said, "What's been going on with you lately."
"What are you talking about?" Sasha asked as neither looked at each other, both only staring straight ahead at the couple and drunkenly stumbled off the car in front of them and walked to a grey truck a few cars down.
"This baby has made you..different. You've been acting weird, like you haven't been yourself. You switched up on me. You ditched me for Finn, some guy you just met, while I've known you since we were kids. I've been by your side for years. I'm your day one and your boyfriend. You're supposed to stick by me like how I stick by you" Seth said seriously causing Sasha to pause and think.
Had she really been acting different? Had this baby changed her, "I-I…"
"And I mean I get it. You're having a baby and I'm here for you, but you've been really cruel to me lately. It makes me question if you even love me?"
Sasha began to stutter and her eyes blinked rapidly, she didn't know where this conversation was going or what was happening, "Of course I love you"
Seth smiled when Sasha said that but only briefly before it went away, "Then why are you acting so differently? If you love me then you would prove it right?"
Sasha felt another rush of memories flooded her mind as images of Seth unzipping her dress and his pants appeared. Sasha could smell the alcohol and she could practically feel the sheets of the bed against the back of her knees as she was pushed against it.
"Seth I think I need to lay down"
"Come on. Don't you wanna have a good time? Aren't you having a good time with me?"
"Of course I-"
"Do you love me?"
"...Yeah Seth I-"
"Then prove it"
Sasha quickly came too when she felt a hand in her pants. The girl jumped forward and unbuckled her seatbelt before pushing open the door and hopping out of the car.
"What..Sasha where are you going?" Seth called out through the open door.
Sasha closed the door and pulled her jacket tight around her before she began to walk away. Seth rolled down the window and called out to her again but Sasha continued to walk along the sidewalk causing Seth to roll his eyes and put the car in reverse. He began to drive on the road beside Sasha as she walked, "Sasha!"
"I'm going home Seth" Sasha said, not looking at Seth
"Get in the car Sasha" Seth said but Sasha ignored him and continued to walk, "Hey! Sasha!..See this is what I was talking about. Get your crazy ass in the car!"
"No"
Seth groaned before he looked at Sasha, trying to keep his eyes on her and the road, thankful that it was only a neighborhood street so no cars were really coming by, "Sasha get in the car now."
"You're not the boss of me Seth!"
Seth huffed and stopped for a second before he abruptly sped up and pulled the car up onto the sidewalk in front of Sasha, blocking off her path. Sasha stopped walking and stared with wide eyes as Seth jumped out the car and rushed up to her. He roughly grabbed Sasha's arm and began to pull her to the car, "Get in the car!"
"No! Get off of me!" Sasha shouted as she began pulling away from him causing Seth to wrap his arms around Sasha to hold her still, "LET GO!"
Sasha began to twist and fight Seth's grip as he dragged her to the car. However, when Seth went to open the door to push Sasha in he held her with only one arm and Sasha bite down on his arm. Seth let go with a sharp yell before he pulled back and punched Sasha roughly across the face, "Bitch"
Sasha held her face in pain and crumpled to the ground while Seth stood over her and shook off his bitten arm in slightly pain. Sasha slowly looked up at Seth as he glared down at her before his face softened and he sighed and bent down to her level. He softly lifted his hand to Sasha's face causing her to flinch for a second before relaxing as Seth's hand brushed over her face, "Why did you make me do that? I don't wanna hurt you Sasha. I love you okay? Now come on...let's go"
Sasha slowly looked at Seth as he stood and held his hand out to her before she took it and got into the car with him.
With Charlotte
"How are you today Charlotte?"
"Fine I guess"
"How were your holidays?"
"Good"
Charlotte felt a pang of anxiety attack her heart while she sat across from a psychologist that her mother had brought her to. It was a woman, Torrie Wilson. Someone Dusty Rhodes had recommended Charlotte see when she came back home. Torrie explained that she was different from a regular therapist in the fact that she wasn't just here to listen and provide advice, but she was here to officially diagnose the girl with a mental illness. The women wore a white blouse, tucked away into black slacks and her light blonde hair was partly pulled back out of her face.
"Can you talk me through what you did?" Torrie asked with a bright smile
Charlotte shrugged, "Why? What does that have to do with anything?"
Torrie never dropped her smile as she tilted her head slightly before saying, "I'm just making small talk. I didn't wanna jump right in. I've been told to go slow with you"
"You've been told?" Charlotte asked confused, "By who?"
"Dusty." Torrie said with a smile, "He's a good man. He told me about his few encounters with you when he recommended me. He mentioned that you might have bipolar disorder. Do you think he's correct?"
"No" Charlotte said sharply as she held her hands tightly together
Torrie grabbed her notepad from beside her and flipped through it before saying, "It seems you have demonstrated times of depression and other times of wild and disruptive outbursts. This can be representatives of manic swings. One swing being depression when you feel really tired and drained, and the upswing being mania when you feel on top of the world and act out in ways that you normally wouldn't. Your use of drugs...your incident in the rehab center with a fellow patient."
Charlotte rolled her eyes at the mention of what happened between her a Roman but she said nothing more. Torrie wrote something short before looking through more pages of her notes and said, "And it seems like you also have a history of bipolar disorder in your family."
Charlotte shot straight up, moving so fast that her spine spasmed and the sharp movement, "My family doesn't have a history of anything"
Torrie gave Charlotte a smile as she said, "I have the medical records of your father. Ric Flair. They were rushed over this morning from the jail. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was about your age."
Charlotte frowned and glared at the woman, "He is not my father."
Torrie's smile never wavered and it was starting to freak Charlotte out, "Birth father"
Charlotte's glare intensified as she imagined herself strangling the woman across from her. It wouldn't be hard. There was nothing separating them other than the small glass coffee table, Charlotte could jump it easily. She would jump over it and wrap her hands firmly over the woman's neck and watch her struggle to breath while Charlotte screamed at her to take back her words, as if that would make them any less true.
"Charlotte?" Torrie asked, snapping the girl out of her thoughts, "Would you like to tell me about a time when you've been sad? Dusty told me about when you were younger. He said that you mentioned being too drained to get out of bed...are there any other occasions when you've felt like this?"
"No"
"...okay. What about when you were using drugs? Do you wanna tell me anything about those times or what led up to you using?" Torrie asked but Charlotte simply crossed her arms and sat back on the couch she was sitting on
"No"
Torrie gave a small chuckle, "Why do you not want to talk?"
"I have nothing to say about this"
Torrie nodded before placing her notepad down, "I think you do"
"I don't"
"Well then, would you like to hear what I think?"
Charlotte looked over Torrie with a quiet gaze before shaking her head, "no not really."
"Why?"
"I already know what you're going to say"
"Do you?"
"Yes" Charlotte said with a nod
Torrie leaned back in her seat with a smile as she crossed one leg over the other, "What am I going to say then?
Charlotte frowned before leaning forward so her elbows were resting on her knees and her gaze met the ground, "That I'm bipolar...like him. That this stunt was a result of my manic swings and I will only get worse if not properly medicated. You were probably gonna write me up a stupid prescription that I may or may not take and you were gonna suggest we meet more often."
Torrie held her smile, but it held some sadness, some...pity behind it, "I was going to say that you seem to be afraid, That you might end up like your father. I read all the records about what happened to you and your siblings. I read about what your father did and I've read what Dusty and Mick Foley both wrote about you from their encounters and I truly believe that you have bipolar disorder. But I was going to tell you that this is not the end of your life. This disorder can be managed...not if you don't take the medication of course but with proper treatment and time...you could get back to your normal life"
Charlotte gave a sarcastic laugh, "my life has been anything but normal"
"Well normal can mean many things. That's up to you" Torrie said before she stood and walked over to her desk. She pulled out a pad and wrote quickly on it before ripping the paper and handing it to Charlotte, "I am going to prescribe medication, which I suggest you take as prescribed and I'll tell your family to monitor your behavior."
"Great" Charlotte said before she stood and snatched the paper from the woman and headed to the door, only to be stopped by Torrie a few feet short.
"I also want you to write down how you feel. Any mood swings, any sudden shifts in how you're feeling, I want you to write it down." Torrie said before handing Charlotte a small light blue journal,"And Charlotte, just because you share your father's blood...doesn't mean you'll share his actions"
Charlotte paused at this and looked back at Torrie for a second before she quickly opened the door and left.
With Becky
The redhead groaned as she folded the last piece of laundry and placed it in the basket to take to Bayley's room, "God I am never doing this again"
The Irish born girl had managed to wash all the laundry, dishes and vacuum in the three hours that she had been home and she was now beyond bored. She had called Dean and the two talked for about an hour but the boy had to help Seth's mom with the groceries so he was out shopping for the day, leaving Becky to clean in boredom.
Becky had tried to cope with her boredom in many ways including laundry basketball where she counted up how many pieces of clothing she could shoot into the laundry machine. She had also raced against herself, timing to see how long it would take her to vacuum one room and then race to beat that time while vacuuming the next. However, that didn't last long because the girl got winded much to easily, causing her to stop the game short and resort to her last option. Music. She had music blasting on the TV downstairs and had performed multiple drum solos and danced around the house while she worked but she was now running out of songs to listen to and her chest was starting to ache with pain from exertion. Shane was supposed to be back in a bit with her grandparents and then Charlotte and Stephanie would return followed by Sasha and lastly Hunter. Becky couldn't wait for them to come so she could have some type of human interaction. She had spent a good amount of time just talking to herself while she washed dishes and honestly she didn't like some of the conversations she had.
The redhead walked into Bayley's room, which she had cleaned when she was forced to vacuum and placed the basket of clothes on youngest daughter's bed before exiting and head to her own room. However, Becky paused when she heard the doorbell ring causing her to look around curiously before slowly making her way downstairs. She stared at the door confused as the doorbell rang once more before she shouted, "I'm coming!"
Becky slowly opened the door to reveal a big man with a brown beard and dark shades, dressed in a black suit. Becky looked around confused before looking behind the man to see another guy, dressed in a pink button up shirt and tan slacks with greying hair pulled back into a ponytail, "Can...can I help you?"
"Hi. My name is Jim Neidhart and that back there is my brother-in law and my partner Bret." The man said with a smile while Becky continued to look confused
"Okay...can I help you with something?"
"Is this the Helmsley residence?" Jim asked to which Becky nodded, "Well, we are with social services, and we're looking for Stephanie Helmsley or Hunter Helmsley"
