Sakura was drawn back into her dream she had experienced in Iwa.
In the pinkette's imagination she and Kakashi got separated somehow and he had to end their relationship to grant her safety. She experienced the same oppressive and tense feeling as during her stay in Iwa. In her dream the self-imposed distance affected both heavily, everyday-life became suffocating and unbearable.
After suffering an awful long while, they randomly met each other in the park. It was the same place where she had been with him as Tatsuo enjoying some quality time together during their romance weekend at Anko's. With a sad smile they approached each other slowly, their heavy feelings visible in their eyes. They were drawn together by an irresistible force, but before their hands could touch. Strangely this time there was no comet impact to separate them again, but they could not reach each other. His lips formed the words "safe" and "alive", but oddly she could not hear him talking. When their hands finally touched, her hand fell through his as if he was made of air. Then he slowly started to dematerialize, emerald met mismatching eyes in shock by the incident. With the words "Sakura", "love" and "hope" forming on his lips he was gone. The panicked pinkette screamed his name and tried to get him back, but he was gone like he had never even been there.
In one brief moment he was gone forever.

Screaming terrified she wakes up. Her whole body was shaking, emanating sweat pearls as tears started to fall down. Kakashi had alreday been awake, he was sitting by her bedside holding her hand. With hope and relief he noticed that she was finally awake. He moved forward to kiss her, but she slapped away the hand holding hers.
"What are you doing here? Where am I?"
"You're at the hospital, remember? You hardly escaped death's grip, Sakura."

He tried to take her hand in his again, but she refused.
