37. Screams
.
"Gaara, listen! I.."
He averted his obtrusively deep gaze from her while he went to the wall with the items. "You're just like all the others."
.
The next time he made eye contact she noticed his wicked smile and two completely deep black orbs. "I will show you what I do with kage-hunting bitches hurting Gaara!"
In his hands were heavy chains and a fierce metal braided ninetail.
.
Shukaku.
Shit!
Run!
.
She was sure he would hurt her, as he had thrown the penalty bench across the room into her direction. The kunoichi could hardly dodge the hit and sprinted into the direction of the nearest door, which was the one that secretly led into the bathroom. But in a blur he forced her down with his bodyweight and effortlessly shackled her in chains. She did not make it to the exit. The cruel laughter of the demon underlined the realisation that hit her harder than the impact of his force: she was just too weak and he had never lost his full power.
Sakura struggled hard against the cold metal around her wrists and ankles, she began to summon all of her chakra as all of a sudden strands of sand weaved around her wrists and fetlocks. It was hopeless, in an instant she knew her chakra was fully restrained by the oppressive sand.
The sand spread her limbs in all four directions until she was not able to move anymore, the red towel had fallen from her very naked form and she was completely at the mercy of the cruel demon that had taken over Gaara.
.
"Please stop! Gaara! Remember! Please!"
"Ssshhhh!", the redhead put a finger in front of his mouth, "Stop screaming, don't waste your energy. Nobody can hear you anyway."
Sakura remembered that the playroom was soundproof, he seemed to notice her desperation and laughed ferociously.
.
Then he examined the ninetail in his hands and he twisted it a few times.
"Enough talking," the mad look on his face hardened and he lunged out with the ninetail, "Let's get this party started."
The imbraided metal pearls bore into her skin, this was no fun anymore, with every hit she could feel her blood flow even more. This would not injure her enough to end her life, but he was going to kill her cruelly slowly, that she was sure of.
.
There is no way out. FUCK!
This is bad!
It's over…
.
In tears she screamed desperately for her life, while her mind reached out to the one she loved.
Help me! PLEASE!
.
"I said stop screaming."
A strand of sand wended dangerously around her throat and the maniacal laughter of the demon deepened.
Her vision got blurry with the pressure on her respiratory tract, inside she was repicturing every important moment of her life.
So this is it… Kakashi…
.
.
Far away in Konoha, Kakashi felt the sudden sting in his chest again. Right in the middle of his office he fell down to his knees, coughing and fighting for air. Hoshi was by his side in a flash.
"Hokage-sama!"
The copy-nin's head spun in piercing pain, as an alarming picture of a certain rose-colored kunoichi in tears and sheer fear washed over his mind.
.
Sakura…
.
He couldn't breathe as if his throat was being compressed. He waved at Hoshi to stay away from him and the young man understood. If he would need anything he would tell him.
Instead Kakashi closed his mismatching eyes and tried to focus on the woman he was missing so much. Like the times he had tried before, there was everything deep black around him, he took a few deep breaths to focus. Then there was a tiny green glimmer, he followed into the direction and the glimmer grew into a blazing fire. The copy-nin did not hesitate and jumped right into the emerald flames from which her crying came from. Everything was light around him, he could not see anything, but he could feel her. The view was still blurry like through a heavy curtain of thick fear interwoven with spiderwebs made of small glistening strings of hope.
.
Sakura, I'm here!
Don't give up!
Come back to me!
.
She screamed on the top of her lungs.
Help me! PLEASE!
It felt like being in a dusty thundercloud, he could not see the situation she was in nor help her in any way. The only thing he knew was that this was serious, she was in immediate danger.
And then all of a sudden he thought of the last Uchiha.
.
.
Get her out of this! Immediately!
The strange order hammered through his head combined with the barely audible screams and the constricted air. Kakashi had no idea what was going on as he reopened his eyes. Hoshi and Shikamaru helped him up and he sat down on his seat behind his desk.
.
"Are you alright?" Both men looked worried.
"I'm fine." The worn-out hokage coughed and pinched the bridge of his nose in desperation.
.
"Go and get Tsunade-sama!" Shikamaru said to Hoshi and he did what he was told.
"Here, have some water."
The silverhead thought he would be caught in one of those cruel dreams again. His imagination was driving him insane. He did not know it could get this bad.
What was this?
.
.
As much as the lone young man hated this, he had taken guard on the rooftop of the kazekage tower for the night again. This night was cold and gusty in particular, so he had chosen to lean on the chimneys as his hiding spot. At least his back would be warm and there it was almost windstill. He knew what the couple had planned and inwardly he thanked Gaara for the soundproof room. At least he would not have to witness the unbearable. The dark-haired ninja looked up to the night sky and reflected on his cherished memories.
All of a sudden he felt his thoughts cut off, all he perceived for a brief moment was the voice of his former sensei:
Get her out of this! Immediately!
.
The last Uchiha stood up on alert and jumped down onto the balcony of the kazekage's apartment. He could not hide a proud smirk for his former sensei's ability to easily learn such complicated and secret sharingan techniques. He opened the door and made a beeline for the hidden playroom.
With a loud creak the door swung open and Sasuke stepped through its angles.
.
"What are YOU doing here?!" Shukaku snarled through Gaara's throat.
The only answer the former rogue gave him was an amused smirk.
.
By the view in front of him he knew it was the right time to intervene, before Shukaku could really harm her.
"It's enough. Let her go."
The sand summoner seemed to be startled by his sudden appearance, Sasuke caught him off guard and put him in a strong genjutsu. While demonic growling escaped from Gaara's mouth, the sand left Sakura's limbs and she could finally move.
.
"Come on, we don't have much time!" The Sharingan bearer threw a red towel for her to cover herself.
Still in chains she ran up to her former teammate who handed her a set of keys.
"Are you hurt?"
The young woman shook her head, she was not seriously injured.
.
He squeezed her hand in a friendly manner. "Now get out! Go to Naruto and tell him: Code 4."
She looked at him, still shaken in fear. "I won't leave you behind, Sasuke! You're my comrade!"
.
A very calm Sasuke made it clear, "Code 4 is a direct order from the hokage, Sakura. Don't worry, I can handle that."
"Are you sure?" Sakura was indeed worried, she knew by now what Sukaku was capable of.
.
With a smug smirk he reinforced his words, "Yes. I know exactly what I'm doing. Trust me!"
The nervous pinkette nodded, "Take care!"
.
"I will. Now go!"
Then the pinkette clad in a red towel dashed out of the room, clanking chains with every step.
