Chapter 20

Karui Akimichi pt. 2

The women there were about to speak there was a knock on the door and all five of them moved in front of the bride blocking her from view.

"Who is it?" asked Sakura looking at the door

"Not the groom." answered a voice from beyond the door

"That's weirdly specific," said Karui looking at the future that was becoming very interesting

"In Konoha, it's considered bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding and especially with her wedding dress."

"Really," said Karui now understanding

As soon as those words were said the group moved while chuckling, they knew them were exaggerating but who could blame them it was better safe than sorry.

"Come in," said Hinata making sure that the bride's dress was still perfect

The door opened and Chōza Akimichi the fifteenth head of the Akimichi Clan entered the room. He was still very similar to the man he was now a tall, plump man with naturally brown hair. He still had purple markings on his cheeks and while he usually wore a samurai-like outfit which entails a black suit completed with armor that has the kanji for "food" he now wore a kimono with his Clan's colors.

"What am I doing there?" asked Chōza

"You will see," said Hinata smirking

He smiled as he looked at the girls there most having seen growing up and said" You all look very beautiful."

He looked at the other women saying something that all of them understood and started making excuses about their departure

"Yes," said Temari" I have to make sure my husband doesn't fall asleep before the wedding starts. See you at the altar Rui." the Kazekage's sister smiled and left

"Yeah I have to make Hi-Chan knows what he is going to do when the time comes." continued TenTen

"Yeah I have to make sure my husband doesn't say anything too hurtful to anyone who doesn't understand him," said Ino looking at her teammate's father

Ino turned a questioning look towards the older woman," Your husband can be brutally honest and sometimes it's too much." said Hinata" We don't mind and you found it to be one of his cutest qualities."

The blond girl chuckled and said," I guess having a husband who can't lie to you is a good thing." Hinata chuckled too

"Yeah I have to go and make sure Sasuke hasn't killed Naruto by now seeing that we are going to need him," said Sakura

"Yeah," nodded Hinata soon after "I'm helping her with that." and like all the others she went out running

Turning to the mirror Karui sighted and said to the former Head of the Akimichi Clan" I know they were lying all right."

"I wonder what business I have with her," said Chōza looking at both versions somehow knowing that it was going to be important

The older man chuckled and said, "What gave it away?"

"The fact that Sakura cared if Naruto and Sasuke fight she says its good for them to release the tension and Hinata doesn't care as long as they don't kill each other or destroy other people's property. It's also Shikamaru's job to keep them in check."

"Troublesome." said the young Nara heir already knowing it was going to be the most annoying thing he would ever have to do

"I asked them to do that." said the red-haired man looking at his future daughter-in-law

Turning around the redhaired young woman looked at the man and said" Is everything alright he isn't thinking that this is a mistake right."

Chuckling the older man shook his head and said" No through he was afraid you would be thinking that right now."

"Of course, not I love him with all my heart."

"Good." said the man and then looked at the bride" You look beautiful 'Rui I can truly say you are the most beautiful bride I have ever seen in my life." said the older man

The redhaired girl chuckled and said," Now I know you are lying."

"I'm not," he said

Then he continued" Can I tell you a secret?" when he got a nod of approvement he continued turning the bride towards the mirror and standing behind her.

"What's going on?" asked Karui looking at her future self-seemed to trust the older shinobi she never allowed anyone to be that close to her especially males she didn't trust most of them

"Don't tell Chōji this but I always wanted a daughter."

Chōji looked at his dad curious as to what he was saying

"I love you son but I always thought I would be good as a girl's dad that's all through I wonder why I am saying this to her."

"Wanted?" asked Karui curious

"Yeah because I think even if I tried really hard and had a clear idea of what I wanted I don't think I could've got a better daughter than you," said Chōza smiling

"WHAT!" yelled both Karui and Choji looking at the head of the Akimichi clan

"Dad..." started Chōji but he didn't know how to continue with what he was saying

Karui was smiling too and her eyes were slightly wet with tears" Really?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I. My son is extremely lucky and has very good tastes if I do say so myself."

Chucking she wiped away the tears that were threatening to fall and looked at her future father-in-law" And I couldn't ask for a better father you were the first one to accept my relationship with Chōji despite being from two different villages and everything that went against us."

Looking at the young heir who was blushing the redhaired woman smiled and thought' So he will be my husband, I think he will be great.'

'She's so beautiful what did hse saw in me.' thought Choji

"Nothing like that you are going to be a great Matriarch to the Akimichi Clan and they are going to be lucky to have you." said the older man

"How do you know that?" asked the younger woman doubtfully

"Naruto likes you and he like his father is a good judge of character." chuckled the older man while that was true, they both knew he was joking about that being the reason

"Well, that's true," said Chōza looking at the woman who would become his daughter-in-law, he trusted his son so he didn't doubt the woman would be great for his clan

"Now," he said smiling" I came here to give you something not for you to make me cry but to give you something." finished the older man

"You don't have to give me something you paid for the wedding, bought us the house..." she was about to continue but the older man just waved his hand showing it was nothing

"Thank you," said Karui to her future father-in-law, the man in question did the same thing his future self-had done

"Now you know the traditional rhyme about the bride in Konoha right?"

The young woman nodded and said" Yes Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. I have three of those things the only thing I'm missing is something old."

"Well we can't have that," said Choza taking a box from behind his back and opening in front of her," I think this will be the best old thing to wear in your first moments as the new Matriarch of the Akimichi Clan."

The Ino-Shika-Cho trio looked at each other there was only something he could give to her but that was impossible no one had seen that particular object since Konoha was founded.

As she looked at the object in front of her Karui's eyes widened and her mouth formed a perfect O shaped" Are you sure? People will object."

"I haven't been surer of anything in quite some time this belongs to you." turning his future daughter-in-law in front of the mirror again he took a butterfly-shaped neckless made out of a beautiful crystal that changed color every time the neckless moved

"Oh my god." yelled both generations of Ino-Shika-Cho except for Choza who was looking curiously at his future self's actions

"What's wrong?" asked Karui

"The neckless is a family heirloom that hasn't been seen let alone worn by anyone since Konoha was founded when the daughter of the Head of the Clan at that time died it was a present for his daughter who was his favorite child." said Choji looking at his father," I thought it was lost to time."

"I just hadn't found someone I thought was right to wear it yet apparently I will find someone that deserves it."

"It's beautiful," said Karui touching it with shaking hands looking in the mirror it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen

"You can give it to your own daughter on her wedding day or to your daughter-in-law if and when you considered it the right time."

Now she really wanted to cry but she knows she couldn't if she did Ino would kill her for ruining her makeup so she took a deep breath to gather herself and said "You know that its tradition for a father to walk his daughter down the aisle."

"Yeah you are still, on time I can force your father to walk you down the aisle if you want."

"I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you." said Karui bitterly "I would be surprised if they even came." looking at Hinata

Knowing what she wanted the older woman answered" You invited them like you were supposed but they never gave you an answer. They didn't come by the way."

The beautiful redhead young girl shook her head pretending it didn't matter to her but many could see right through it.

"No, I don't want that I wanted to ask you if you would like to walk me down the aisle." as she asked the question Karui was holding her breath

Karui in the past was holding her breath too she didn't know what the man that would become her father-in-law would say yeah, he had admitted to liking her but that could've been just because she was marrying his son.

Chōji was looking at his father too but he knows that his father would say yes to her Chōji could tell his father liked his future wife and for that he was glad.

"I would be honored Rui," said Chōza offering his arm to the young woman in front of him

"Before we go, I have a question." said the redhead woman looking at the man who nodded telling her to continue" If Cho had been a girl what name were you going to give to him."

"Chōchō why?" asked Chōza confused

Looking in the mirror one last time making sure she looked amazing for her husband she smirked and said"Just curious."

Curious looks were turned towards the young woman who just looked at them and said" Don't look at me like that I don't know what my future self is thinking."

At those words, Chōji and Chōza chuckled and the older man said" Well now I know what my son saw in you." at that the two in question blushed

The other Clan heads and the couple's friends laughed at the look on their faces

A WHILE LATER

They found themself inside of Konoha's hospital and they could see the male members of Konoha's elite shinobis sitting in front of the room with the exception of Choji who was passing.

"Are you trying to make a hole in the floor boy?" asked Hiashi Hyūga while the words seemed harsh the look in his eyes was soft and warm and that he was only trying to distract him

"Come on Hia don't tell you have forgotten how you were when your wife was giving birth," said Chōza the man in question didn't have the chance to answer as Sakura walked into the room smiling.

Chōji and Karui had their jaws on the ground at that revelation while the other Clan Heads were congratulating Chōza on his new grandchild

"So, which of you wants to meet the baby first." as soon as those words left her mouth, she was run over by every guy in the room

They entered the room and they found of the missing girls they hadn't seen inside the room cooing over the bed where a nurse was with the baby in her arms.

All the men stopped at the door; they know the place they had to wait for the mother to hold the baby before they had the chance to even look at it.

Karui surprised everyone by nodding towards the nurse making her walk towards Chōza and saying" Lord Chōza Lady Karui wishes for you to be the first to hold the baby."

At that, both Chōza had tears in their eyes and both were looking at young woman in awe

"Her name is Chōchō Akimichi," said Karui earning looks from her father-in-law

"Thank you" said Chōza looking at her he got a nod in reply with the redhaired not trusting herself to speak
