"Alright everyone! We'll take a break here for breakfast!" Banner announced and Jaden gave a yawn that nearly cracked her jaw.

"Where's my pizza?" Banner murmured aloud as he rummaged in his bag.

"Teach I'm going to find some shade and nap. Come wake me up when we start up again." Jaden said wandering off and Bastion followed her without a word, making Jasmine and Mindy squeal slightly around their rice balls. The two had come along with Alexis when she mentioned that Bastion and Jaden were going and Jaden had said something about how Pegasus discovered Duel Monsters in ruins. That had caused the two to come along, more for watching the Orange King Couple than anything else.

"You okay? Usually you can last longer than this." Bastion asked and he had noticed the way she had tensed slightly and been trying to get away ever since they got to that area of the ruins.

"There's something very wrong here. There's a lot of shadow magic building up for some reason and it's giving me plenty of energy but also a major headache." Jaden said rubbing at her temples as she finally found a shaded place she liked the best and slumped down under it.

Bastion immediately settled down next to her and tensed and blushed slightly when she immediately laid her head on his shoulder.

"Do you mind?" Jaden asked and she glanced up at him through her lashes with her contact colored brown eyes, he thought they were beautiful on her but he really liked her natural blue eyes as well. Not to mention her sometimes golden/purple and red eyes were so exotic and beautiful… He could spend hours probably just staring at her eyes.

"Not at all." Bastion said and he wasn't thinking about it as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head, making her blush slightly and avert her gaze. Something that he thought was so cute on her, seeing her look a little shy which definitely wasn't part of her male 'persona' and he took that as a sign that she trusted him enough to drop the persona around him even with others semi-close by.

"Shouldn't we try to get the others away though?" Bastion asked glancing over at where the others were far enough away that they couldn't hear them and almost couldn't see them thanks to the foliage and ruins, but Bastion noticed he and Jaden had a clear view of the group as Banner tried to beg food off of his students after realizing Pharoah snuck along in his bag and ate his pizza.

"And tell them what? Hey yeah there's a build up of dangerous mystical energy which can make Duel Spirits seen and touchable. We should probably leave in case it's dangerous for us." Jaden asked without opening her eyes and Bastion winced. Well when she put it like that…

"Perhaps I need to look into finding some way to protect myself and others from the Duel Energy or Shadow Magic? If it truly does inhabit this island greatly like it seems to the ruins and that abandoned dorm then it could be handy." Bastion asked wondering if there was any way he could find a way to protect himself from it.

"That's not a bad idea…while I have inborn abilities that protect me and let me use the shadows…I know dad and aunt Fonda both learned how to use or sense them in their own ways. Aunt Fonda learned how in the military, she never told me how, but Dad was able to sense and manipulate them a little bit from constant exposure to them thanks to mama and then later me. But there should be other ways to do it…maybe something like an amulet imbued with shadow magic?" Jaden wondered aloud as she considered a way she could give him some protection from shadow magic or dark duel energy.

"As long as it gives me a way to protect myself and others from this magic if need be then I'd be happy to wear or do anything I need to." Bastion said and Jaden hummed in thought again.

"An amulet imbued with my inborn powers should protect you from most shadow magic and duel energy. Any ability to use or manipulate it however will come from being exposed to it constantly and your own willpower." Jaden said after a moment and it was clear to Bastion by the way her eyes were being squeezed shut that either her headache had gotten worse or she was tired as hell.

He was willing to bet that it was her headache, which meant that something was happening with the shadow energy around them.

"I will do everything in my power to help." Bastion promised her with a serious look in his eyes as he stared down at her, his arm tightening and he wondered when he even wrapped it around her.

"You're a blessing Bastion." Jaden murmured with a small smile before there was a flash of energy right when she flinched.

When Bastion could see again, Jaden was effortlessly carrying him in her arms bridal style and hiding in what appeared to be an alley way.

"Wh-" He began but Jaden shot him a stern look and moved to hold his weight with one arm while covering his mouth with her hand.

"Quiet. We're in the Spirit realm right now. Apparently the shadow magic pulled us here and there's Gravekeepers around taking everyone prisoner." Jaden quietly whispered to Bastion as she set him down, even as he idly wondered just how much she could lift with each hand considering she had effortlessly supported his entire body weight with just one arm.

"So what do we do to get them back?" Bastion asked relying on her to have a plan. After all this kind of thing seemed to be her specialty. He'll stick to a perfectly constructed deck and schoolwork thank you, he'll help her with the Shadow Magic things but he already knew he was way out of his comfort zone here.

"…" Jaden was quiet for a long moment before she gave a small sigh and turned towards him with one eye purple and the other golden.

"Looks like you're going to meet the Supreme Queen."
