"Yes, you did," said Grindelwald, with a bow of his head. It turns out that, for all his flaws, Grindelwald never failed to recognize dibs. This is canon now.
Vinda gasped. "You - you don't mean to tell me that I'll be leading an expedition that consists of crazy Queenie and her Muggle boyfriend!"
"Exactly."
"I - I don't understand," said Vinda, struggling for words. "I've followed you. I've devoted my whole life to your evil cause. Why do you hate me?"
"If you have truly devoted yourself to me," Grindelwald replied abhorrently, "you will endure this hardship. Besides, you can always bring along Abernathy if you're going to need someone to torture."
