Meanwhile, back at Newt's house, Newt and Credence arrived back at Newt's house. By the way, it turns out that Newt's house was once the home of Uric the Oddball. This is canon now.
"Bunty, I'm home!" exclaimed Newt sitcomly.
"Thank Merlin you're back!" she replied, running forward. "This note was delivered here by a mysterious man."
"How was he mysterious?" asked Credence as Bunty passed the note to Newt.
"He was wearing a trench coat and fedora," she explained breathlessly.
"It's from Grindelwald," said Newt, looking at the note, "but it doesn't make any sense. He says that he has my girlfriend despite the fact that I don't have a girlfriend."
"I think he's referring to Tina," said Bunty.
"Really?" asked Newt. "Are you saying that Tina is my girlfriend?"
"No! No!" Bunty said quickly. "I'm just saying it may have appeared that way to Grindelwald, who doesn't know you like I do! I know that you're single and still available and... and..." Her voice trailed off.
Newt thought about Tina. He loved how she could turn the world on with her smile as well as take a nothing day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile. Well, it was her, girl, and she should've known it. With each glance and every little movement, she showed that love was all around, no need to waste it. She could have the town, why didn't she take it? She was gonna make it after all. She was gonna make it after all!
And then, for some reason, Newt pictured Tina throwing a blue knit beret in the air.
"Hmm, maybe you're right, Bunty," he said. "Maybe Tina is my girlfriend."
"Oh... frak!" muttered Bunty.
