Alright ya'all, we're in the home stretch! We got this, the Grad Match, the Sacred Beasts and Finale! What's Finale you ask? Well, I have been hinting at it all this Arc! Now, sit back and enjoy some Slifer Red kicking Crowler's ass!
Hellsink Bathhall - Wait, they changed the Errata of Ring?! News to me! I was using the effect from one of the copies I had along with a Ring of Defense card. Wow...way to be a dick Konami. Still, as for Necro Face, I didn't come to that monster right away until I rewatched 46 and 47 and realized that Electrum's effect was used. So I had to scramble to find a similar monster and came upon him. Zane and Jaden's duel will be the one that causes the Keys to go flying and unlocking the gates, not get interrupted. Trust me, that duel...is going to try and be one of the most epic duels I ever wrote. As for the new support cards for the Beasts...well~ a certain soon to be Ex-Slifer will be in a position to make such cards for Jaden.
Enjoy the chapter everyone!
The last week since the final rider was defeated passed in a flash for the students of Duel Academy. Many of them were studying hard for the final exams at the end of the year. For Jaden and the Slifers, that mean overtime on the study group. He made them duel day in and day out until they had cards coming out of their ears. But in all honesty...Jaden wasn't too worried about the Reds.
They had come far in a long time since his first day here. Before, they were whiny brats. But now?
Now they were whiny brats with bite to them!
Jaden laughed to himself when he remembered telling them that and they all face-vaulted.
Currently, he along with everyone was sitting in a classroom, a art supplies before him. It wasn't a test, least not the kind they were used to. See, on Thursday, Satyr had told everyone that they were going to take a little break from classwork and just focus on something fun. It was suggested that they do arts for the entire class. Satyr, being a former painter, wholeheartedly agreed.
Leading to now. Everyone was quietly chatting, Syrus holding up a finished picture of Dark Magician Girl. Showing it to Jaden, the golden eye boy smiled and returned to his own work.
The picture before him was a large beast that had a serpents tail, red on the back and several yellow rings in the front. The torso continued the yellow rings but had red on the shoulder blades, a strange sword in the same yellow on the right arm and a large dragon's head on the left. Two massive clawed wings were on the very back of the beast. The head looked demonic and had horns. Syrus looked at the beast, frowning.
Hearing the question of what it was, Jaden stopped what he was doing and held the picture up.
It was called Armityle. An ancient fusion of the Sacred Beasts. Syrus gasped lightly, wondering how Jaden knew of the creature. Jaden chuckled, setting the painting down.
His memories of his past life. It was Armityle that had helped beat the Light back at the cost of the King's life. No tablet existed of the fusion beast, consider far too powerful for mortals. Leaving behind the story, they turned to an intensely focused Chumley. Getting up to see what he was making, Jaden was shocked to see the outback lands and Ayer's rock on it.
"Amazing detail Chumley." One of the girls behind him said.
"Awesome texture!"
Everyone gathered around the portly boy, looking at his picture. Praise and congrats were offered, the boy blushing lightly. Asked how he knew of the place so well, Chumley told them.
"Just after dad retired from Dueling, we went on a trip to Australia and camped out. The first time I ever saw that sunset on Ayer's rock...oh man, words cannot describe the beauty and majesty I saw that day." Chumley said, a small tear coming to his eye.
A blue nearby nodded, smiling.
"Chumley's right on that. I went down with my parents before coming here and seeing that...even pictures can't truly capture what we saw. It was like...God himself was making it perfect."
Chumley nodded. Before he could continue, the screen behind Satyr came on and an unwelcome voice came from it.
"Will Chumley Huffington please report to the Chancellor's office? Chumley Huffington to the office!"
Confused, Chumley got up and left the classroom.

A little while later, Chumley stood before Sheppard, Midori and Crowler. Asking if he was in trouble, Sheppard laughed good naturally. Shaking his head, Chumley was told that the reason why he was called up here was because of the card before him. Confused even more, Chumley picked the card up and looked at it. Gasping, he saw that it was his painting.
"Your design won Industrial Illusions art contest, Chumley." Midori explained, smiling.
"But...I mean who-?"
The screen came to life nearby.
"Ah, perfect timing."
"It was me that chose it, Chumley boy."
Chumley turned to see the man behind the game, Pegasus J. Crawford. He smiled warmly at the smaller boy.
"It wasn't easy, given that there were so many cards and so little time to pick one. However, your card was a gift from the angels themselves and the artwork...oh my, it actually captured the beauty of Ayer's rock perfectly my boy."
"T-Thank you sir." Chumley said, blushing.
"You are most welcome, Chumley. In fact, to further show my thanks, I want to offer you a job here at Industrial Illusions as a card designer."
Chumley's eyes went wide in shock. The shock gave way to joy and accepted the offer. Pegasus clapped in excitement, stating that he would see him soon. Sheppard and Midori were equally excited for the boy.
"This is an opportunity of a lifetime, Chumley. I'm glad you grabbed it with both hands." Midori said, her smile even bigger.
"You even have my support!" Sheppard said, beaming.
Sadly, it was all ruined by Crowler. He stated that he didn't think sending Pegasus a 'Slifer Slacker' would be a good image for the school. Perhaps the offer would go to someone more...worthy. Both Sheppard and Midori glared at the man. Chumley scowled, walking up to the man.
"How about a little bet then in a duel?" Chumley demanded.
Crowler looked shocked; this was the same boy who had flunked two years in a row? Where was the shy and meek demeanor? Where was the fear?! Had...had he lost that much terror fueled respect? Crowler snarled. Well, he'd show them!
"Very well! The terms are if you win...which is a VERY big if...You have my approval to work for Pegasus. BUT! Should you lose, not only will you forget the job, but you'll leave the school and return to your drunk of a father!"
Chumley's eyes flashed in anger, Midori and Sheppard doing the same. If Crowler was hoping to get a rise out of Chumley, he got it.
"Alright. I won't lose Doctor Crowler!" Chumley stormed away, leaving the man to wonder just what got into the boy.

The day passed swiftly after Chumley told everyone what happened. Needless to say, they were pretty ticked off with the good doctor. They spent the night over at Red dorm and helped train Chumley for the match. Now both teacher and student stood on the main Arena, the entire Red dorm there.
"Come on Chumley!" Harry called out.
"You got this buddy!" James encouraged.
"Show that good for nothing doctor we Reds are a force to be reckoned with!" Max yelled.
Alexis, Chazz, Bastion and the rest of the key guards, minus Kaiba, all shouted encouragement too. Chumley gave a small wave, turning back to Crowler.
Both teacher and student deployed their disks, each drawing their opening hand.
Crowler: 8000/Chumley: 8000
"Well, what are you waiting for, an invitation?" Crowler demanded.
"Got it right here! Draw!" Chumley shouted.
Looking at the hand, he saw the moves he could use. He placed a monster in facedown mode, but then chose another card.
"I play Book of Taiyou! This allows me to flip my facedown into face-up mode! Meet Des Koala!"
Crowler's eyes went wide, several orbs of light appearing and exploding next to him.
Crowler: 6000
"Nice! With that move, Chum's taken first blood!" Mindy squealed, just now joining.
"Wow, Jaden really trained the Reds well." Jasmine said, smiling at her secret boyfriend.
Chumley placed three facedown cards and ended his turn.
"Huh...I'll admit it, that move caught me off guard. Well played, Mister Huffington." Crowler praised, drawing his card. "But you'll need a lot more moves then that to match me! I play Magnet Circle Level Two!"
(Magnet Circle LV2 – Type/Spell/Normal.
Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower Machine-Type monster from your hand.)
The spell card allowed Crowler to summon a level two or lower machine-type from his hand. He revealed the chosen card being Ancient Gear. Course, if it on the field, Crowler was allowed to summon another. Chumley jumped in right there.
"I reveal my facedown spell, Book of Moon and use it on my Koala!"
The monster flipped back down into defense mode. Crowler quirked an eyebrow, but continued on. He offered his two Gears as offerings to summon his Ancient Gear Golem monster! Chumley just watched on, waiting. Crowler was about to attack, but stopped suddenly.
"That flip effect. Drat, even if I deal damage to you, you'll deal more to me. Hm, guess I'll end my turn."
"Crowler's on guard...and Chumley really can't afford to flip Koala again. It's attack power is less then its defense. He'd take more damage." Harry pointed out.
"Don't count him down yet. Chumley has a few tricks left." Jaden said, crossing his arms.
Chumley drew his card, setting it facedown along with another card. He ended his turn then, Crowler going. He had his Golem attack the second facedown, revealing it to be a mole.
"I may take seventeen hundred points of damage, but my Eucalyptus Mole allows me to summon a Koala monster regardless of its level! So come out, Big Koala!"
Chumley: 6300
The large monster appeared, roaring. Crowler frowned, not expecting that. Chumley kept on going, revealing a spell card, Wild Nature's release. With it, the defense power of his monster was added to the attack power. Chumley didn't stop there though. He revealed his other facedown card.
"Gift of Greed! This allows you to draw two cards, Doctor Crowler."
"What?! Why help me out!?"
"Haven't you forgotten something? My facedown! Go Des Koala!"
Crowler cursed in his head. He had more cards in his hand meaning he took more damage from the Flip Effect! Two slashes struck him, making him cry out in pain.
Crowler: 4400
"I'm not done yet! I attack with my Big Koala! Take down his Gear Golem!"
The large and now more powerful monster charged. It punched the machine, making it become a scrap pile. Crowler grunted, watching his counter drop.
Crowler: 2700
"Next, I have my Des Koala attack you directly!"
The smaller monster charged, rolling over Crowler. He yipped in pain, falling back onto his ass.
Crowler: 1600
"Finally, I use Beast Soul Swap! I change out my Big Koala for another!"
The monster returned to his hand, only for Chumley to play it again. Crowler grimaced, but hid a smirk. Chumley wasn't the only one to change up his deck some. The large mammal charged again and body slammed Crowler. Everyone held their breath, eatching with eager eyes. The large monster was pushed off of Crowler by a-
"KURIBOH?!" Everyone exclaimed in shock.
"Yes, quite a twist there wasn't it?" Crowler said, smiling.
Chumley clicked his teeth, ending his turn with a facedown. Crowler began his move and started by playing Ancient Gear Drill. He discarded a card and then explained that he could now select a spell card from his deck and place it facedown. However, the downside was he couldn't use it this turn. He followed that up with another spell, Ancient Gear Factory.
"This allows me to summon my second Ancient Gear Golem in my hand!"
That had everyone stumped; what about his sacrifices? Sheppard frowned, explaining that they were all in the grave. Should Crowler remove monsters whose star level was double that of the Gear Golem, he could summon it. Crowler nodded, taking out his two Ancient Gears, first Gear Golem and finally, a Gear Soldier.
"He must have discarded that Soldier when he played Drill." Chumley muttered, seeing the machine's stars light up.
The doors creaked open and revealed the new built monster. Crowler smirked, gesturing to the Des Koala. The monster roared and threw its fist, striking it and Chumley.
Chumley: 4400
"Ugh! Your monster may prevent me from playing traps when it attacks, but now that its donzo, I activate my trap card, Animal Trail! With this, I add a beast type to my hand! Des Kangaroo, hop to it!"
The card slid out of Chumley's deck and added it to his hand. Crowler sniffed and ended his turn. Chumley drew and looked at the card. Gasping when he saw it was his own, he recalled the time he had run away after flunking his second promo exam. He had gone to the top of Ayer's rock to ditch his deck. But...the sunrise came and with it, the new feeling of hope. He re-read the effect and frowned.
There is only one card that is a staple in all Machine-Type decks and that's Limiter Removal. Crowler no doubt played that thanks to his Drill. Ayer's rock Sunrise takes away two hundred points and summons a beast from my grave. I currently have Des Koala and Mole in my grave...I need to get more! Chumley thought, looking over his hand.
"I play Card of Sanctity! Now we both draw until we have six cards!"
The two drew their hand, Crowler frowning. What was Chumley up to? The portly boy continued his move.
"I next play the Quick Play spell card, Flash Fusion!"
(Flash Fusion – Type/Spell/Quick-play.
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters you control as Fusion Materials. Destroy it during the End Phase.)
"I send my Big Koala on the field with my Des Kangaroo in my hand. Meet the monsta from down unda, Master of Oz!"
The large monster appeared, roaring. Crowler scoffed, thinking that was a waste. Chumley placed a card facedown and then revealed another spell, Card Destruction. The two threw out their hand, Chumley drawing two cards and Crowler getting six. Pot of Greed followed, Chumley drawing two cards. He then revealed his other spell, a graceful charity. He drew three and tossed out two more monsters.
"Alright...its all set up! I play my facedown spell, Ayer's Rock Sunrise!"
The massive stone appeared, the sun bright and blinding Crowler for a bit.
(Ayer's Rock Sunrise – Type/Spell/Normal.
Select 1 Beast-Type monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon it. Then, all face-up monsters your opponent controls lose 200 ATK for each Beast, Plant and Winged Beast-Type monster in your Graveyard.)
"I return my Big Koala! And now...all the Beast-type monsters chilling in my grave return and drain your Gear Golem's power by two hundred times the number!"
Several Beast monsters appeared next to Big Koala.
Two Des Koala, Des Kangaroo, Vampiric Koala, Sea Koala, an Enraged Battle Ox, and finally, Eucalyptus Mole all charged at the metal menace, latching on. Chumley smirked as they took away his power.
Gear Golem – ATK/3000 → 1600
"Alright! Chumley just made that monster super weak!" Frank said, excited.
"And even if Doc Crowler has Limiter Removal on the field, it'll do nothing! He'll still take a thousand points!" James pointed out.
"Alright, Master of Oz! Go! Take Down from Downunda!"
Crowler stared in shock. He couldn't believe it. The boy had played him. HIM! The former slacker and dropout to be had bested him! James was right...even with Limiter Removal, his monster would still lose and he'd be wide open for that second Big Koala. Sighing, the man smiled.
His Gear golem was blasted apart by the large fist, the pieces flying and crashing all around Crowler.
Crowler: 0
Everyone stared in shock. Chumley...had won! The stands exploded with cheers and applause, Chumley staring in amazement. Crowler deactivated his disk, clapping as well.
"Well done, Mr. Huffington! I do apologize for my words before and humbly beg for your forgiveness." The man said, bowing at the waist.
He had wanted to see how Chumley would do when enraged. Boy he got it and then some! Chumley had evolved well past his former self, in no small part to the Study group he was apart of. Chumley blushed, smiling. The doctor was more then happy to give his recommendation to Pegasus.
That had Chumley smile widely and shake the man's hand.
"Thank you sir! It's...well, its been a trip!"
"Hey Chums!" Someone called.
The boy turned to see the entire Red dorm and Study group, all smiles.
"Don't forget us alright!"
"Yeah, what Jack said!"
"You've come a long way, Chumley...I'm glad you found your passion." Jaden said, patting the boy on the shoulder.
Chumley grinned, tears in his eyes. Syrus saw and shook his head.
"Chumley, don't start...then we'll start and that's not fun for everyone!"
Chumley apologized, having been with the group for a whole year, it was emotional. Jaden held up his PDA. Stating that memories last forever, he got it all set up. Everyone joined around the boy, all smiles and some tears.
In the middle of it all, Chumley stood, holding up a peace sign. The rest got in close, the PDA flashing.

Chumley was on the plane heading to Industrial Illusions, looking at the photo he had gotten from Jaden and the copy of the photo Banner had. Tears were in his eyes, but he was smiling nonetheless. Behind him, the spirit of Des Koala sat, smiling. He was glad that the Spirit King had met Chumley and vice versa. Now his master had reached his full potential...and was going to go beyond it.
Talk about an emotional chapter...please leave a review.
