Hi, how are you doing today?

I hope you had a great week.

I confess that I must thank you all for being patient, it has been three years since this story was created and you all still coming here.

If you have read the last chapter of GM Manhattan's lies you have got a little information about this chapter. To those who don't read GM Manhattan's lies, and are missing out on the opportunity to scold me about Josh and Maya or thank me for what's going on there, I said:

"... It's amazing the fact we live on a single planet where there are billions of worlds within it, and on each of them there is a different story going on with the same characters..."

That is why this story is being told the way it is going. First Lucas told us about what happened from his eyes, then Maya and now it's Josh's turn.

It's been over two years since this chapter has been ready so let's go.

Welcome To Josh's World!

He knew she would be trouble as soon as his eyes fell on her in that hot summer day at his first weekend there. Her sun-tanned body with flawlessly drawn curves was a straight invitation to hell, and he'd be completely up for it without a second thought. Her eyes lingered on him while she was saying something to one of her friends, and a playful smirk has grown on her lips.

His friends told him she was trouble. Yeah, she is so smoking hot, but to get a chance with her you have to got something that until that moment no one knew what it was since all guys that she had dated were never alike, but everyone agreed that they all were considered quite attractive.

Apparently, she was dating a very attractive surfer. His body was the wish every guy would like to reach, and each time he got out of the sea he reminded Josh of some of those characters on those tv shows or movies about lifeguard in beaches and that all women want to be saved by them because they are hot. However, Josh could see by her actions that she wasn't so into him.

They'd been making eye contact all that afternoon until her friends called her to go home and when she walked away, she smirked at him and waved discreetly and then Josh understood this as an encouragement for the upcoming weekend.

She was there, lying on the sand all by herself as the sun reactivated the tan on her body that it had given her last weekend. One of his friends had friendly pushed his arm and told him to stop staring at her because that would be a waste of time since she was way too much out of his league, but no, Josh had laughed at that.

His friends bet she would turn him down if he tries to hit on her, and then Josh had taken the challenge and walked toward her. When she noticed his approach and a sensual smirk grow on her face, and then he knew he had won a thousand dollars at that exact moment.

She'd greeted him first, and he knelt in front of her offering his hand as he introduced himself. Josh found out that her name was Isabella, she was twenty-two and she was graduating from UCLA in a few months. She teased with him when he said he was new there, and she said she knew it because his skin wasn't so tan last weekend. They talked until the sun went down, Josh had been abandoned by his friends and he didn't even care about that since she was a pleasant company. Then she had asked him for a ride and laughed when she found out that his car was actually a jeep, and he said he just wanted to get into the mood of the city.

In fact, there was no ride, they just got into a heavy petting session inside of his jeep, his hands roamed over her perfect body as he listened to her arousing whispers. Isabella had left him breathless and craving for more as he watched her walking toward her car.

He had not shown up on the next weekend and maybe that had to do with the fact that he was not a beach person, and also the unlikely chance that she would pay attention to him, it according to his friends. He was a thousand dollars richer since there was evidence of what had happened in the jeep on his body, but his friends told him that he should not be so excited about it because it was probably just an unimportant hook up, and that she must be just bored.

On Monday afternoon, he was surprised by a voice asking him to hold the elevator, and he was surprised to see her in his building. Isabella seemed to be coming back from class because she was having trouble with her backpack when she got into the elevator while cursing under her breath. Her green eyes met his, and she seemed surprised to recognize him.

She asked why he didn't show up at the beach on Saturday, and he told her that maybe he wasn't a beach person. Josh was the first to leave the elevator and that frustrated him because now she knew where to find him and he had no idea where find her.

On Friday, when he was getting ready to go out with his friends, she had shown up at his door. Isabella had said she was a friend of the doorman and she had asked him to tell her where to find him. Josh shouldn't have let her in, but he did and then saw himself calling off his plans with his friends to spend the night with her. He already knew she was an amazing kisser and after that night she was his best sex.

Isabella was always around so he teased her asking her if she had no home, and then she would disappear for a few hours and at that hours he felt as if his apartment has become boring without her there since she was the one who livens up the place with her laugh and voice, which led him to look for her in her apartment and drag her back to his apartment again.

He said that what they had was just sex, but it wasn't true since one of the things he likes the most was talking to her, and hang out on the couch until late night watching something or just being there quietly with her body next to him. Three months later she said it made no sense to rent an apartment if she was always there, so they both agreed to live together.

His friends were jealous, and they warned him that he was getting too involved, and at any moment she could just dump him because that is what she always does and everyone knows it.

Isabella told him that she loves him after three months living in his apartment while they were playing video games. Josh had ignored it because he thought she was just playing dirty so she could beat him. And then she had paused the game, pushed him and locked herself in the room because she got so upset that he had said nothing after what she said.

Josh had been sitting in front of the door all day trying to talk to her, trying to convince her to open the door for him. When she finally opened the door and he realized that she had been crying all afternoon and he'd felt really bad to see that her gorgeous green eyes were swollen and red and it was all his fault. He'd apologized for being a jerk and hurt her feelings, and then he asked her if she didn't think it was too early for this kind of statement. Isabella told him that he wasn't like her other boyfriends, he was special and she didn't see herself without him. Six months later he found himself saying those same words to her in the silence of the hills while her head was laying on his chest and his arms were around her waist.

They'd been together for six years, and Josh found himself at her feet with a big diamond ring on his hand and then popping that pretty question on their sixth anniversary because if there was one person he wanted to marry that person is her.

But their engagement had not lasted even two months and the breakup was hard. Josh wanted to go back to New York and, but Isabella didn't want to leave the place where all her family and friends were. They had taught him that his wife should follow him wherever he goes, something she was unwilling to do, and it had broken his heart.

They broke up amicably, and Josh had stayed in the apartment until the day he was supposed to leave. As there were still feelings between them, all the emotions always came pouring down on them and a couple of times there was a kiss, that leads them to make out sessions and then to her bed. Josh had asked if he could keep his stuff there until he settles in New York, something Isabella didn't deny, and when she left him at the airport they said goodbye between kisses and cries.

That first week in New York was so fucking hard because he didn't have her by his side. They talked to each other every single day, but that wasn't enough, Riley had even thrown a small welcome party for him, something he wasn't in the mood for.

Everyone was there happy to welcome him, and he found himself trying to respond to the guests with something that could be confused close to happiness.

His eyes fell on that familiar blonde figure sitting at the table and he realized she had become an attractive woman. He didn't know much about her; when he and Riley talked she barely talks about her best friend. Then he found himself flirting with her, not that it meant anything, he just found her attractive and he found it funny the way she blushed at his words.

Riley had let him know that Maya and Lucas had been together for a few years, but that information didn't fit on that scenario he saw, apparently, they were distant and Josh felt that in less than six months they probably wouldn't be together anymore.

He had asked her to get some drink so they could finally know a little more about each other and she had agreed. That was just friends going out because he couldn't see himself with someone else after Isabella.

They had a great conversation about everything, and he found himself telling her about his relationship with Isabella, the problem was that he found himself lying about their relationship and he didn't know why he did it.

He had enjoyed hanging out with her because Maya was interesting and cool and Josh had completely forgotten about that after all these years. Every time they were together, she occupied that empty space that Isabella had left, which made him not think of her until he was alone. He didn't like to be alone because those were the worst moments, the moments when he had to fight the urge to make that call to California.

A month in New York was when things started to get tough. He missed that dark hair and being close to someone, and when Maya was around he ended up discharging all that need in her.

Then there was the accidental kiss and the only thing going through his head was kissing her again. He knew that feeling means nothing compared to his needing for Isabella, but he needed to do that. He needed to try because maybe she could be the one, maybe she could make him forget about Isabella.

Riley had told him that the best way to forget someone was to try to meet someone else and that had made him he open up. He told Riley that there was someone else, but she was in a deteriorated relationship with someone at the moment. He said that they had gotten closer in recent days, and maybe she feels something about him too. Riley had told him to give it a try, maybe that person is the solution.

He had kissed her, and just as their lips touched Josh had decided to bury any feelings for Isabella and try something new with Maya. He likes her kisses, they reminded him of that last Friday in New York, when he finally agreed to go out with his niece's best friend after much persuasion from Riley; it reminded him of that time in his life when things were simple and without Isabella's presence. If he hadn't found that pretty, tanned brunette on that Saturday, he would probably have called Maya and maybe they'd even been a couple for a while.

Each person has a different kiss, and he misses the passionate way that takes your breath away that is Isabella's kiss every time she kisses him. She doesn't have to work hard to please him and have him where she wants him. Maya's kiss was different; her kiss was comfortable, familiar. It's not bad, it just not what he'd gotten used to in recent years.

Cory had helped him to rent an apartment, and at the first moment, he was so happy that he could finally leave his brother's house. The downside of getting an apartment was that it showed him that he should be coming back to California soon to get his stuff, and Josh still wasn't ready for it because going there meant breaking any connection with Isabella.

He had called Maya to see his new place, and all he had planned was just a dinner and is it, but he found himself in bed with her under him as dinner was over.

It has been a few months since the last time he'd had some kind of intense contact like that and maybe that was what it was missing for him to forget the brunette for good. However, he was surprised to think of her while he was with Maya in that bed, the urge to have her once again leaving that unbearable pressure in his lower area driving him crazy, but Maya had rejected him, and he had not gotten the release he wanted so much.

As soon as Maya left, Josh had picked up the phone to call the brunette for the first time in days. Hearing her sleep-hoarse voice didn't help him at all because all he could think was in their last time and how much he needed her right there. Then he found himself having to get a service he thought only losers did to release all that tension, at least for that night.

Then a week had passed since that episode, and Josh found himself looking for Maya because he didn't want her to think bad about him after that. They had that conversation about waiting, and he should confess that he didn't want to wait at all, he wanted them to have sex soon, so he would know if she could really make him forget about Isabella.

His work began to consume his time and that was a good thing because, in the middle of all that stress, there was hardly enough time to think about other things. There was a very interesting woman at work, and Josh knew she was up to something more when she looked him up and down on the first day. That was confirmed on Friday when she asked him for a drink after work, and it ended up with her in his apartment when for the first time he didn't have to pay to have sex.

Maya suspected he was seeing someone else. It wasn't as if they were something exclusive, they were just friends who got into make out sessions when they are alone. Then he lied because she didn't need to know that.

Then she again rejected him after one of their encounters, and Josh wondered why he still insisted on it, and as soon as she had left, he called his new sex partner asking her to come over.

They had a conversation about getting more intimate, and for the way she had reacted he knew that maybe that wouldn't happen. Maybe that means she wasn't so into him as he thought she was, and it kind of hurt his pride. So he found himself trying to win her over with gifts because she had commented that Lucas hadn't given her any gifts for a while on their first date. Flowers, chocolates, and cards with some romantic quote or phrase that he did not understand were necessary because every woman likes these things. There were invitations to spend the day together anywhere else but she always turned them down even after he had spent so much on those gifts.

Then came the day he wanted so badly to avoid it, the day he had to go back to California to get his stuff back. He had called Isabella and explained why he was going to be in the apartment, and she had told him that he did not need to waste money on a hotel room since he could sleep in. For his misfortune, Josh had agreed to spend the days there with her in the apartment. Isabella apologized for not being able to welcome him since she would still be at work when he got in there, and Josh said there was no problem.

When he opened the apartment door it seemed like the time was frozen since the last time he was there. Everything was perfectly tidy, their pictures still in the place them used to be, and Josh had the feeling that he had taken a week off and was finally coming home.

He found himself with a stupid smile when he saw the welcome poster and the balloons waiting for him, she had left it to remind him that even if she couldn't be there, she was thinking of him. He didn't believe she had wasted time in her life to buy those silly things just for him.

The first thing he did after that was taking a good shower and Josh was surprised to find his favorite shampoo next to her various shampoos and conditioners. There was also his favorite shaver available, and then his eyes fell on his shirt where she normally hung her things after waking up. His shirt smelled just like her and that means she still sleeping with it after all these days.

As she wouldn't show up until night Josh went to take care of the arrangements for the move, and take some time to meet some old friends. As soon as Josh had arrived, he found her waiting for him on the couch, she was dressing her favorite dress and looked stunning with a huge smile on her face as she watched him walk in. Isabella held him tightly and he reciprocated with the same intensity while her perfume intoxicated him and felt like he hadn't seen her in years instead of a few months.

Isabella had told him to take a shower because dinner would be ready in a few minutes. Josh wanted to look so good as she did so he'd picked his best outfit just for that dinner. They had a great dinner, and he told her he could pretend to believe she had cooked all that and she pretended to be offended by his words.

They ended the night talking on the couch. Isabella had bought his favorite beer and even joined him even though she doesn't drink alcohol. Her legs were over his as his hands gently stroking her knee like they had done so many times before in that same place.

Josh missed that feeling, that feeling of being home, something he only got with her. His eyes went to her lips as she talking about something that had happened that day on her work, Isabella still as attractive as the first day he had seen her on that beach, and he knew one thing: he would be a fool if he didn't kiss her right now.

He had leaned over and crashed his lips on hers. Isabella was surprised at first, but responded him with the same energy as always, the way he liked and had never found something like that. His hands slid over her thigh; he had missed the softness of her skin in against his hands. Hearing her whispers as his hands and lips roamed on her body made him feel a huge ache in his lower parts as he tried to keep himself.

He had her on that couch, and that was, like the other times, so fucking amazing, but now it was so dangerous because that meant he was letting her in again. He watched her sleep next to him peacefully, and he could see a smile on her face. She was definitely sleeping because in all these years he had learned that as soon as she closed her eyes on that bed, she would only open them the next morning and he has pity of any soul who tries change that.

His fingertips stroked the delicate skin of her face like he loved to do. Josh knows he was so lucky to have her in his life, even with everyone saying that she would dump him in less than a week, something that never happened and that had got people quite confused.

He remembers the day he met her older sister a few hours after Isabella introduced him to her family as her boyfriend. The woman had looked at him in shocked and said that she was surprised with this dinner, she said he must have something really good because her sister had rarely taken anyone to meet her parents even though they knew so well that their daughter had an affective life very active.

And looking at her like that, peacefully sleeping and with that huge smile on her face, he wondered if he had made the right choice in leaving her. He felt her pull him closer to her, placing her head on his chest and he couldn't be more grateful for that summer seven years ago. He remembered opening the door of his jeep for her, something he usually doesn't do, as she makes fun of him because he had chosen this kind of car. And as soon as he got into the jeep, she had prevented him from turning it on when her hand had held his hand. He looked at her and the way she looked at him with that playful and smutty smirk on her face he knew what would happen and felt his blood go to the south. Isabella pulled him by his shirt and joined their lips, it was a brief kiss but left him completely breathless and looking forward to another one.

Isabella smirked at him naughty before going to the backseat, as soon as she sat there, she petted the seat asking him to sit next to her. When he sat down, she sat on his lap, and Josh was grateful that the jeep's windows don't allow people to see what was going to happen inside it. Her lips were like drugs, and he felt like a starving addict in need of a new dose. In less than five minutes his shirt had already laying in somewhere in the jeep and her dress was thrown on the jeep's floor. His lips were tasting the salty water sea on her skin, his hands were lost the curves of her body as he heard her running out of breath and whisper his name.

She didn't let it lie, so she pushed him into the seat while possessively kissing his neck, he would have a mark on his neck in the next day, but Josh didn't care at all, not when she was moving her hips like that, leaving him breathless while he felt like he was in heaven.

He had had less than fifteen minutes in his backseat with her, and in less than ten minutes she had made him cum in his shorts effortless and she seemed pleased with that as she dressed up to leave the jeep. The sad part of the story was that she had not given her number and the only thing he could do was think about the best hook up he had in his life as he remembered every moment with her in his backseat all week long.

The thought of what had happened on that day made him crave for her again, and Josh wondered if it would stop someday because she keeps having the same effect on him even after all those years, but for now, he was happy to just have her warmth against him and her perfume intoxicating him.

Josh had woken up with her watch at six o'clock in the morning, and he watched her turn in bed for more fifteen minutes until he knocked her out of bed. Isabella threw her pillow at him and walked to the bathroom while his eyes were following her naked body. She was teasing him, and he knew it when he saw her dressing up in front of him even though she pretended she wasn't doing anything wrong. As soon as she was ready, she came over to say her goodbye. Isabella sat on his side of the bed, pecking his lips gently, and then he accused her of teasing him, and she denied it with her best smirk that shown she was definitely doing this. Isabella had said she was just letting him know what he would have when she got home later.

Josh had turned her on the bed and said it was unfair, and then he had shown her how much her tease got an effect on him by moving his hips against her core and she moaned in answer. Isabella had said it was so unfair and wrong because it was not fair for her to go at work feeling like that. Then he pleased her, and she has gotten late to work what made her cursed him for it.

They looked like a happy couple, and anyone would say that if they saw them together. Josh had even completely forgotten his purpose there because the only thing that mattered to him was being by her side and enjoying all those moments together, but as the weekend approached, he found himself even closer to her, not wanting to leave that place and leave her again. Friday night had come, and he had twenty-four hours to finish packing, but he couldn't do it at all. Isabella was the one who took the lead and he saw himself following her. It was early in the morning when they finished packing his stuff for the move because on Monday they would be collecting those boxes, and Isabella was responsible to know if everything was right by then

They lay in bed staring at the ceiling uncertain of what to say after all that had happened in those days. Isabella was the first one to say something, she said she understands that nothing had changed since he did not want to stay and she did not want to go, but that doesn't mean that there were no feelings between them.

Josh had agreed, and they spent an hour saying nothing, just looking at each other as his fingertips were stroking her face and Josh wished he could memorize every inch of her face. When he kissed her gently and passionately, he could taste the salt from their tears in his mouth. Isabella had said she loves him and that was music to his ears, Josh found himself saying it back to her between kisses while his hands roamed on her body.

She said it was time to try to find someone else and he agreed, so she asked him if he was seeing someone else and Josh denied it, and it wasn't really a lie because he just had a sex partner who means nothing to him, and he was in a friends with benefits with his niece's best friend, but none of them was something serious.

Isabella had taken her day off to take him to the airport, and also because they both knew that once he got on that plane, they would need some time for themselves. Josh couldn't leave her and she much less, they spent the whole day together in bed making love or just talking, what mattered was that they had that time for them.

Saying goodbye at the airport had torn him apart. They had promised not to cry, but that was impossible because they both knew that when Josh embarked, they would be over for good, and they were not ready for it yet. He had kissed her gentle and sweet, holding her so tight against his chest as he inhaled her perfume one last time and her tears were wetting his shirt, and then as soon as it was safe to unbuckle his seat belt on the plane, Josh had cried in the toilet.

It was just sex. That's what he told himself the next day in bed. Even though he knew by heart everything she likes and hates; even if he knows her movements; even though he could read her mind; even though he loves her qualities and he was already used to her flaws, and even though he keeps her picture in one corner of his wallet and their pictures were in a drawer next to his bed. When he called her to let her know he had got home, he had decided that he had to move on, and he knew she knew that because her goodbye was different.

It's Maya. She must be the one who could make him forget his California girl, they already had some characteristics in common, and it might not be right to do because Josh should look for another type of person, but she could be the right person for that.

He called Maya the third day after his arrival to let her know he was back. In fact, he had lied and said he had just got in New York, and the reason for that lie was that she didn't need to know horrible his days had gone. He planned to meet her for lunch, and when he got there he was taken aback by her painting. That painting meant she had thought of him while he was gone and this thought made him happy because with only a few days away he had gotten the reaction he expected with all those gifts.

His lips were against hers and the comparisons were back again, and Josh found himself throwing them back to the back of his mind. That was the moment he could find out if she could make him forget the owner of that dark hair that has been a lot in his head. He was desperate for her, and it wasn't only in a sexual way, but he wanted her to take the place he had been trying to get vacate for months in his heart.

Maya is so fucking sexy, and he didn't understand why Lucas wasn't so interested in her, if he was Lucas, he would never do that, he would try to make her happy and satisfied all day. Maya had rejected him again when she decided to answer the phone instead of crossed that line with him. Josh knew who this was as she answered the call with a wide open smile that shown him that Lucas was the person on the other side, and Josh was disappointed with that, she wasn't so into him as he had thought minutes ago, and he found himself frustrated that he couldn't really win her over, maybe if that brunette hadn't been in his head that much he would have done things right.
