Hi, guys!
It's Saturday!
How are you doing?
It's been a long time since I've been around. Well, my job really consumed all my time, and I didn't have time to write, so here's a small part of the over 5,000 words to complete Josh's chapter.
Is the story over? No, there's still one or two more chapters after Josh's to tell you what happens next. We'll get a reunion between Josh and Maya in the future, we'll know what happened to Lucas...
I got into a new ship. It's been over two months since they broke up, and next week they will get back together because Gabriela thinks she will die after an accident when she saved the life of an important person. Gabriela needs a blood transfusion, but she has a rare blood type.
I read the spoilers and I'm so glad you have no idea. There will be lots of adorable scenes in the hospital. Vicente will tell Gabriela that he loves her, she will confess to her sister that she wanted to kiss Vicente at least one last time before she died. He will become a so lovely boyfriend for her.
If you want to know a little bit about them, go to twitter and in the gifs section type Gabicente, you will see a little about them.
He was losing her. Even that he'd never truly had her, he knew he was losing Maya. She was ignoring him all week, and it scared him. He wasn't stupid, something had happened between her and Lucas, that silence was proof enough of that. Without her around him, his thoughts drifted to California more often than he could bear.
He had met Maya with Riley at Topanga's, and that would be his only opportunity to find out what was happening with her, and as he expected, she had run away from him again.
He managed to stop her from leaving, and Maya had only told him that he had done nothing to deserve that treatment and it only showed that he was right, that Lucas was behind this change. Josh had asked her to go to his house so they could talk about what was going on more tranquility without being interrupted by someone, but she had refused his invitation at the same time. It was Lucas, he asked her if all this was because of him, if he had already found out about them and prevented her from seeing him, but Maya denied it.
Josh asked her if she doesn't like him anymore, and her silence answered him. He had lost her and Josh saw his world crashing down at that moment.
"Tell a girl you love her and you get whatever you want from her. But first you have to find out if she still likes you, otherwise, you will be dumb."
He had heard this from his friends a few times, and that was wrong, but it was his only option to saving what they had, but Maya surprised him by saying that she likes him, and Josh was relieved to hear those words from her. Then he had kissed her and he heard those three words followed by her name come out of his mouth, and he realized at that moment that he couldn't be like the other guys because those words did not sound as easy as the ones he had said to Isabella. The difference between these two times is that one he was truly sincere and the other he wasn't. Josh even repeated those words to see if it sounded better, but no, these words still sounding empty for him, so he had kissed her more as an escape than as a need.
Maya didn't really like him, and that was getting obvious every day she rejected him and declined his invitations. Maybe she was actually being sincere when she said she likes him because Maya actually believes that this true since Josh was giving all the attention that Lucas wasn't giving to her, so she held on to what they had. But things had changed, and Josh could see that crystal clear when her smiles faded and there is some space between them, something that wasn't there until before she ignored him.
Riley had set him a date with her friend from college. Josh had asked her to stay out of his love life, but Riley didn't mind on listened to him. Then he found himself on a date with a woman who wasn't even his type, and that had annoyed him before they even went on their date. The worst thing was seeing Maya get into Topanga's and seeing him accompanied by that woman. She probably must have been thinking that he was an idiot, and he could feel their eyes on them.
Josh had explained to her outside that this was Riley's thing; and that he would do nothing with her, he just was going to take her to dinner. He knew he was being an idiot for explaining it to her, but he really appreciated her friendship to ruining everything like that. Josh found himself lying to her when he left the house of his date that dawn. In his defense, he is a man who has needs, needs that Maya was not interested in taking care; needs that every girl would like to take care. He had said he would call the next day, but they both knew it would not happen.
Josh was surprised to see her standing there at his door on that Saturday night. He didn't expect anyone to come over, and he even was thinking about calling to his guys so that they could enjoy the New York night. Josh had expected to happen anything that night, anything but find her at his door.
She was unsure, something not typical of Isabella when she asked him if she could walk in. Josh again could have said no, but he found himself making room for her to walk in. Her eyes roamed his living room and she praised the apartment and then they are small talks. They were there, sitting on different sofas and so far apart. Isabela's hands were in her lap something he had rarely seen her do, and that shows him how much nervous she was.
Isabella had come to New York because her friend Elizabeth had asked her to. Her friend would be getting married in a few days there, and she wanted Isabella to help her with the latest adjustments. Isabella had remembered that Josh had spoken of a specific place where he always went because his sister-in-law was the owner, so she decided to go know the place. When she was there, she had met a very kind woman who when Isabella had said she knew him from California, the brunette had introduced herself as his niece, and then, she had given her his address so they could meet, because she was sure Josh would like to see a familiar face.
Isabella talked about how crazy the city is, and Josh asked her if she had really known the city and escaped from the tourist areas there, Isabella said she didn't have much time for it, so Josh offered to take her on a tour for the real New York City. She had told him that her friend was looking for a place to live with her fiancé and that she had been perplexed at the cost of the rents there because they were so expensive and the spaces are so small. Josh laughed and said that everyone wants a bit of New York what it does make everything so expensive, but you still have some privileges with that.
They talked about the pros and cons of the city for a bit longer in an attempt to get the other person to change its mind. Isabela had said New York didn't have beaches like the Pacific beaches. Josh had said nightlife was better in New York. Isabella had said the city had a feeling of being too crowded. Josh had said they have a bigger variety of restaurants.
Josh had ordered them food, and they had spent a good part of the night talking about New York. Josh had played dirty and said that she would do better there than at home, and Isabella had just ignored him. At least there was some progress and both now sat on the same sofa even though there was still a big space between them.
Then there was the silence between them, and they knew what that means, it was time to talk about them, but none wanted to start it. Isabella pretended to look at her nails while Josh played with the fabric of his pants, he heard her sigh, and then his eyes fell on her and she gave him a bashful smile.
Josh stood up and sat next to her, his arms brought her to his lap and she put her arms around his neck, laying her head on his shoulder, and they stay like this for a long time without saying anything.
In those six years together, Josh had learned to read Isabella, and he knew what was in her head in that exact moment so he told her "Me too!" Which made her pull away from him and ask him what he meant by that, and he told her that he missed her too. A smile grew on her face before she kissed his cheek for a long time, and he found himself smiling at her while their foreheads were resting on each other. He loved that sparkle in her eyes, and he could watch those loving eyes for hours.
Then his eyes went to her lips and the urge to taste them one more time hit him so hard that he barely could breathe. Josh knew it was also happening to her at that moment, so he lay in her direction to kiss her, but Isabella walked away and said she had to go, and that got him disappointed.
He said it was late, she should sleep there, but she refused it, and with that, he offered to take her back to her hotel, something she accepted. They said goodbye with the promise to meet the other day.
He picked her up early in her hotel and they went to see the real New York City together. By the glow in her eyes, he knew he would win in it the end. He took her to eat at the East Village, to have a drink at Off The Wagon Bar and Grill. They went to watch the sunset at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier and Josh took her to Topanga's bakery promising her she would find out the best chocolate cake she could ever have had.
When they got there, and they were greeted by Katy who had taken their orders and made it clear that she thinks Isabella is so pretty. And as Josh had presumed, she had gone to tell the others that they are there because in less than five minutes his brother, sister-in-law, and nephews were already there in their table talking to them.
Isabella thanked Riley for the address as soon as she saw her, and the way his niece had smiled he knew she was proud of herself for doing it. After a few minutes of talking, Riley started to get people off the table to leave them alone. Then they ate the cake, and Isabella kept saying her grandmother's chocolate cake was the best one.
When Isabella went to the bathroom, Riley had sat next to him and her words were "you are in love her!" Josh asked her why that statement and his niece said "It is so obvious! The way you proudly introduced her to us, the way you get this silly smile when she is around; the way your arm was around her when everyone joined the table. Why would you want to forget her? Why would you do this bullshit? A woman like her you keep. You can't let her go because of something so stupid like an address."
Isabella walked him to his apartment that evening. Her eyes were on the window watching the city lights that she likes even if she didn't want to admit it. His hands went her waist bringing her closer to him so he could hold her, and her hands laid over his. They were silent watching the cars go by, and then she had looked at him over her shoulder and smiled with that lovely spark in her eyes before facing the window again. Josh kissed her nape and buried his face in her neck giving light kisses on her delicate skin. Isabella put one of her hands in his hair gentle tugging it as she gave him more room to kiss the area around her throat, sighing when he reached the right place.
They had the best sex that night, and he didn't think that it was possible at all. Maybe it was Riley's fault that had made him got all sentimental that night, and everything seemed so right when she is around him.
Josh said he loved her before, during and after their dance, and Isabella had said she loves him back as her eyes were looking him in the eyes, and that seemed so fucking right that his heart dance in such a warm and jolly rhythm.
He had made himself a day off, so he could keep her in his bed doing nothing and talking about silly things. But his plan was ruined by Topanga, who invited them to have dinner with his family and he had tried to persuade Isabella on not going and staying there with him in his bed. Josh saw himself in the Matthews' table having a family dinner with that woman who everyone secretly said was his girlfriend.
She had to leave the next day and know it had broken him even more because it reminded him that the reason for their break up was back. He didn't want to let her go and he could see she didn't want to let him, but that was what happened. He got so bad about it because now his bed smells just like her, and Riley had even tried to cheer him up, but she had no success on it.
With Isabella definitely away he needed to focus on Maya and he knew he should have upset her for not giving her a sign in the last week. So, he had called her and asked her to have dinner at his place, claiming that work was taking all his time and she eventually accepted it.
Josh had cooked a meal that he had learned with Isabella, and he only realized that when Maya left him alone to get a bandage. Maybe her presence there would be good for erasing Isabella's perfume on his mattress since it droves him crazy every morning, and at the thought of those days, he found himself wanting to have her again.
Maya was a bit stranger, and he didn't know what had happened to change her mood like that, then he remembered the date that Riley had gotten him and it all started to make sense. He just needed to make sure nothing had happened even if it wasn't true.
He had kissed her in the way he wanted her to kiss him, the way he missed it, but Maya seemed to be somewhere else and that was frustrating. Josh saw that mark on her neck and it seemed to laugh at his face. It wasn't as visible as it was days ago when her boyfriend did it, and it confirmed that things between Lucas and Maya were changing, which would explain her whole change with him.
Josh was scared because that meant she would leave him at any moment, which would ruin his plan. It had to be Maya if it weren't her no one else would be able to fill the space Isabella had left. So he just needed to be better than Lucas, make her want him more than she wants Lucas; make her want to be in his arms more than in Lucas's arms.
But Maya wasn't helping him, she seemed lost in thought so he had to resort to the old resource he'd gotten from that early evening on the beach. Picturing Isabella there with him hearing her sighs like that day and that was enough to make him want to tear that dress off her. Maya rejected him again, and it was painful. Josh found himself at home all by himself, he was annoyed and with a problem to solve in his old way. He could call someone, but he was not in the mood to talk to anyone.
Maya had asked if she could come to his place a few days after what had happened, and that meant only one thing: she would break what they have. Then he had to try to win her in two hours, and he didn't know how to do it.
"Women like those romantic bullshits. How about something with candles and flowers? If you do it right you will have her panties on your bedroom floor for a long time."
One of his friends had said and Josh found himself making a last-minute shopping.
She was sitting next to him, and he could see the end happening at any moment. Maya didn't want a conversation, so he kept pushing it until dinner was over. Josh had escaped for a second to check that everything was right in his bedroom before sending her there using a job interview as a pretext. Then he had a rehearsed speech to apologize and remind her that she had liked him first and that he had been an idiot to leave them behind. He had kissed her and taken her to his bed, but she had stopped him again, and the words he had tried to avoid all night came from her lips.
See you in a few days.
Take care!
Have a great weekend!
Bye!
