Hi guys! My oh my it's been so long, and I am oh so sorry! I moved again, this time across the country, got a new got that was 13 hour days, then started working at a school, but due to this whole COVID-19 mess, I'm back!

Off to Hawaii

*Chapter 6*

"Flight 842 to California now boarding. Flight 842 to California is now boarding," the overhead announced.

Skye quickly hopped up and grabbed her carry-on bag before turning to Coulson. Shooting him an impatient smile as he grabbed his own bag and began to stand up.

"Come on A.C.," Skye said as she pulled their tickets out of her bag, holding out his as she checked their row and seat letter and number.

After grabbing his ticket from her the two made their way to the stewardess and handed her their tickets before heading onto the plane. The two found their row and began shuffling into their spots.

"Think we got the seats to ourselves" Coulson questioned, as he let Skye in first to claim the window seat. Sky shrugged as she plopped into her seat and waited for him to get comfortable as well.

"So we'll be landing in California for our layover, before boarding for Hawaii which means we'll be getting in at around 9 and it's an hour drive to the hotel. Do we want to stop and get takeout or try for dining in somewhere" Skye sat for a sec and pondered the question before turning to Coulson.

'Take-out might be our best bet, cause other than bars, most places will be closing or already closed," Coulson nodded in agreement.

"Where are we staying, beach front, or inland?" Skye asked as Coulson pulled up his bag off the floor.

"It's on the beach. It's called Mauna Kea Beach Hotel." Coulson replied as he pulled a brochure out of his bag and handed it to her.

"Sounds fancy," Skye smiled as Coulson nodded in agreement and pulled out a book from his carry-on bag.

After a few moments a young woman came over to their row and quickly sat down next to them, shooting them a curious look. Skye gave her a small smile before pulling out her own book and a pair of glasses, slipping them on while getting comfy in her chair.

"You wear glasses?" Coulson asked glancing over at her in surprise before looking back at his own book.

"They're yours, I keep extras since you like to misplace yours. Plus I use them from time to time." Skye answered, eyes still on her book.

After listening to the safety instructions, the plane soon took off and Coulson turned to Skye, setting his book down.

"Did you leave your laptop, or will I be dragging you out of the hotel room?" Coulson asked as Skye turned to him.

"It's a vacation, of course I left it. You think I'm gonna pass up relaxing on the beach for computer time in the hotel? Not a chance" Skye chuckled quietly as she marked her place in her book.

The woman next to them glanced at them with furrowed brows, but was interrupted by the stewardess.

"Soda, Snacks?" she asked with a strained smile. Both shook their heads as the woman continued to stare. Soon the stewardess left and the two looked at the woman with raised brows.

"I'm sorry, is this your daughter?" the woman finally questioned looking between the two with a frown.

"No, is there a problem?" Coulson replied, as Skye sat back and stared at the woman with a dull look.

"She just, well she's so young, can't imagine she's old enough to be wi-"

"M'am I'm 26, we work together. Not that it matters because, despite my age, I like to think that my business is just that, mine. Now can we please get back to our book?" Skye shot as she turned back to her book with a scowl.

Coulson sat back in his seat and resumed his own book as well, ignoring the woman's offended face.

As the plane came to a stop the two pulled up their bags and placed their books back inside before unbuckling their seats and waiting their turn to get off the plane.

"Well, I'd say it was lovely riding with you both, but we all know that's a lie." the young lady next to them snarked as she pushed her way into the aisle and exited the plane.

After waiting their turn the two continued off the plane and headed towards baggage claim to grab their bags and check in to their next flight.

"So we have about a good 30 minutes till our next, we still have some snacks left from our last flight, so we should be good. So why don't we go grab a seat in the waiting area and hopefully we'll board soon." Coulson planned out as the two walked to check-in.

As they walked Skye's phone let out a soft ring causing her to shift her bags and dig through, the sound getting louder as she pulled it out.

"This is Skye." she spoke as she picked up the phone placing it between her shoulder and ear. Coulson raised a brow at her tone as she readjusted her bags again.

"Oh that's good, when's your next flight? Really, that's a bit of a wait, you guys ought to grab a bite…no we're gonna eat when we get there since we leave in like the next 30 minutes. Alright, well enjoy your food and fly safe. Oh, and let me know when you two land. Okay, bye Simmons, bye Fitz." Skye smiled at the phone and shoved it into her sweatshirt pocket as she hung up.

"FitzSimmons are on layover in Philadelphia, they've got another hour and a half till take off." Skye relayed the information as she resumed walking towards the check-in, ready to be rid of the extra suitcase. Coulson nodded and steered them into the correct line. As they moved to the front of the line Skye placed her suitcase on the scale and allowed the man behind the desk to take it along with Coulson's.

"Alright, you two are all set, here's your boarding passes, have a nice flight." The man said as he handed them their passes with a smile before calling for the next person. Coulson and Skye moved over towards the security point and went through without any difficulty and headed to the waiting area as they heard their flight called for boarding.

"Right on time" Coulson commented as the two showed their passes to the steward and boarded the plane looking for their seats. After a small debate on who got the window seat Coulson slid all the way in with Skye following after him. As the two settled in more people began pouring in and filling the seats around them.

"Excuse me, hon I think you're in my seat." Skye and Coulson looked up to see a woman with red curls glaring down at Skye and looking at the seat.

"Well the one next to me is open, you could sit there." Skye smiled as she pointedly looked at the seat.

The lady huffed and looked at Skye with a look of annoyance, before turning to Coulson with soft eyes.

"Kids these days, I'm sure you don't want to be stuck with this rude teenager. Why don't you and her switch seats? You could sit next to me, I'm sure I'm much better company, I'm April" she smiled as she held out her hand.

"She and I fought over who gets the window seat, I'm not giving up my winnings" Coulson explained as Skye let out a snort in amusement. The woman looked between the two before huffing and sitting in the seat next to Skye.

Soon the steward and stewardess began the safety rules and the plane started down the runway before taking off.

Skye glanced over at her before grabbing her book out of her bag and flipped it open to her marked page as she pushed the glasses back onto her face. Coulson glanced over before huffing a laugh and putting a finger onto Skye's page bringing it down so she'd look at him.

"Are you sure those are mine, because you're using them more than me" he chuckled, watching as her cheeks flushed.

"Well do you want them?" Skye asked as she started to take them off.

"No, you can keep them, besides they look better on you. I look like an old creep when I wear them." Coulson objected, stopping Skye from removing the glasses.

Skye smiled before pushing them back on and returning to her book. April chose that moment to turn back to them.

"She's probably a gold digger, especially if you're taking her to Hawaii. Is this your first flight? It's mine, I'm kinda nervous." she simpered as she looked at Coulson expectantly.

"We live and work on a plane. I think it'd be pretty bad if I was a nervous flier." Coulson responded not looking away from the page Skye was reading. April huffed before shooting Skye a glare and pulling out her phone.
