"Confrontations"
"Come to my office?" Aki suggested, making Sakura feel conscious of her environment now.
Her eyes scanned the area, hoping that Syaoran would not be around right now.
She could not deal with Syaoran and Aki right now. Not at the same time, at least.
She had to handle one at a time. When they were in the same presence, things were always hectic with them being in the same room. It was a wonder how they worked in the same hospital.
"Okay..." she said after noticing Syaoran is not around.
Aki did not say anything before he led the way to his office.
Once they got inside, he closed the door behind her.
She walked to one of the seats in the room, not saying a word to him. She could not be the one to break this silence, because she might burst and snap if she did.
"Sakura," Aki called softly when he sat at his desk in the chair across from her.
"Aki," she called stiffly.
When he cleared his throat, she looked at him and all the anger came rushing through her blood from the tips of her toes to the top of her head.
"You're upset," he stated.
"I thought that was obvious enough," she remarked, not caring if he detected her anger with him now.
They were technically behind closed doors where no one else could hear or see the murder she might just commit today.
"Sakura, look—"
"You better have a damn good reason before you speak on it," she said before he could come up with any lame excuses.
"I do, Sakura. Just hear me out," he said, holding up a hand in defense.
She raised both brows, folding her arms over her chest when he did not continue.
"I kept a small piece of information from you—"
"Small? Did you really just go there? Do I need to remind you how BIG this was?" she asked, glaring at him slightly.
"Sakura—"
"You watched me cry...session after session, day after day, month after months—year after year after—" she stopped as her breath hitched in her throat with tears.
She vowed she would not cry about this. She promised that she would have a civil conversation with the man, but the more she heard his voice, the more it hurt to hold back. The more she spoke on this, the more her anger rose.
"I know, Sakura. I know...I...fucked up, to say the least, but I really did this for you. And for Eichii. He asked me not to tell you that he had lived. He asked me to put up the facade to everyone that he had passed because he was tired of putting you and everyone else around him through so much pain...he asked me to do that and he told me, and I remember clear as day, he told me that I would do that for you if...I truly love you. And I do love you, Sakura. I want the best for you and having him in your life was not the best for you at that time. You wouldn't have let him go, even if he begged you to let him go. It would've just been a vicious cycle of a toxic relationship before he took your life and I..."
He shook his head slowly as his eyes landed on his desk, away from her. "I couldn't sit around and watch him take your life like that. He tried to kill you, didn't he? He strangled you to death, and you still wanted to be with him, even after you got that second chance. There was nothing else I could do at that point. Do you really think that I did this because I didn't care about you? Because I didn't love you? That I didn't want the best for you? Sakura, if I'd lost you, I wouldn't have—" He stopped, his breath hitching in his throat.
She could see the tears well in his eyes, but remained quiet.
"I wouldn't have been able to go on without you. You've been my best friend since day one and I would have never, even now, let any monster take your life before my eyes. I did what I thought was best for you. I hold no regrets in my heart or soul for keeping that from you," he finished confidently.
She knew all of this. She understood all of this, but what she could not understand is why it still hurt so much. She just could not understand how he could sit back and watch her suffer for so many years.
"Even after I'd told you countless of times that I was over him; that I just wanted to see him alive and well to know that everything had not gone in vain? I don't even want to be with him anymore. I told you that...begged you...cried so hard just to get an opportunity to see him one last time...and you still didn't feel the need to tell me that he was okay and alive? Aki, he was...smiling when I saw him. Do you know the last look I'd seen on his face? It was terrifying! I told you all of this...yet you still felt it to be best that I didn't know he was fine?" she whispered the last part brokenly.
"Yes, because you would've fell back into that hole of darkness all over again. You would've had a new problem to fight—"
"Even after five years?!" she asked angrily, standing from the chair.
She knew she was being out of character right now, but her anger was starting to get the best of her. She was never one to act out on her emotions, but Akinari was starting to sound insane to her now.
"Sakura, calm do—"
"You don't have that right to tell me to calm down like you know what's best for me. After two years passed, you could've at least told me that he was fine. You saw the progress in me!"
"No matter what I'd told you, you wouldn't have been satisfied, Sakura. You wanted to hear that he was still alive and well, ready to live his life with you," Akinari said defensively.
"I've been over him, Aki. I told you I was over him three years ago—"
"You are over him now."
"No, three years ago!" she retorted, annoyed that he was trying to disregard her honesty. She had really felt like she was over him.
"Then, why weren't you dating? Why do you think it didn't get anywhere between me and you?" he asked, surprising her.
She shook her head, not believing he had really brought this, of all things, up. "Don't do that. Don't even think about going there. You agreed that there was nothing there between us when we went on that date—"
"And I stand by that til' this day. But, do you know why there was nothing there between us?"
"Because we are just meant to be best friends!" she bellowed. "You said this, not me, so don't try and turn this around on me now."
He shook his head, closing his eyes. There was even irritation in his expression now. "No, because you weren't over Eichii at the time and I sure didn't feel anything romantic with you because of that," he said.
She scoffed. "What are you trying to say now, Aki? That you want something with me because I'm suddenly over Eichii? When I had been over him three years ago?" she asked angrily.
"No, Sakura. I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying that you weren't over him. I'm not interested in being with you romantically, just as much as you aren't. I'm just saying that you weren't over him at the time so I couldn't just tell you that he had been alive and well—"
"Because Aki knows best, right?" she retorted sarcastically, letting out a humorless laugh.
She could tell that remark had pissed him off because he suddenly had fire in his eyes. "You would've ran right back to him and been in the same toxic relationship that neither of you wanted to be in. I would've had to sit around and listen to it; watch him use and abuse you as much as he wanted. You both were obsessed with each other and it wasn't healthy! You only got over him when you started fucking my boss, who just happens to be your patient, so don't try and pretend to be the innocent victim who's never done anything wrong in all of thi—"
She picked up the nearest thing on his desk, throwing it at him, which just happened to be a plastic cup, full of water. "You go to hell, asshole," she said before storming out of the office, slamming the door shut behind her loudly.
As soon as she got into the halls, all eyes were on her, as everyone stood frozen in their spots.
"Sakura," she heard a gentle voice call, snapping her out of her haze of fire.
She looked in the direction of the voice, only to see amber eyes staring into hers worriedly. She was suddenly reminded why she had come here to begin with. And that thought only made her even more furious for some reason.
"Your office. Now," she demanded, already trudging towards the elevator and hitting the up button.
As if Syaoran knew he had no choice, he followed behind her after telling everyone to get back to work.
She tapped her feet, suddenly becoming impatient with the slow elevator. Everything was pissing her off right now.
"Kinomoto Sakura, what has your panties in a knot?" she heard Syaoran ask beside her teasingly.
She turned to him, glaring to shut him up. She did not need him, of all people, to add any fuel to her fire with any jokes. After all, he is the one who had her coming here because of his stupid actions in the past that were affecting her.
The nerve of her best friend. She had never thought herself to be innocent in all of this, but she sure felt that she had nothing to do with feeling betrayed by him. His need to remind her of her mistake with the start of her relationship with Syaoran just served to turn this all around on her; make him feel like the victim in a situation. She had never pegged Akinari as the manipulative type, but their conversation just proved her wrong.
The elevator dinged and they stepped inside. She was sure to keep a distance between them.
She knew that Akinari had not done anything maliciously to her, but the fact that he tried to turn that whole conversation around on her pissed her off to no end.
Had he just expected her accept the unsaid apology? Forget that he had kept something so big from her? He did not even feel the need to apologize to her.
He seemed to be the selfish one in all of this, not her. Victim or no victim, Akinari had crossed the line today and made things a lot worst for her.
The elevator opened, which she was quick to step out and head to his office that she had remembered by now.
She tapped her foot, waiting for Syaoran to get over where she is. It felt like he was dragging right now, which irritated her even more.
He unlocked the door when he reached her before she opened the door, making him come in with her.
As soon as the door closed, she turned to him with a glare on her face. "You're so damn selfish," she started with, wanting to tell him how she really feels about everything going on; about her discomfort, about her anger towards him and his stupid past. About what she had to accept, just to be with him.
None of this was fair on her part.
"Woah, woah, woah. We are not doing this today. We are going to have a civil conversation about your—"
"We are not doing this today? What the hell is that supposed to mean?" she asked, feeling upset that he would portray her as this dramatic woman who always brings drama in his life.
"What's going on? Don't answer that unless you're not talking out of anger right now," he said, leaning his back against the door.
She folded her arms over her chest, sticking her nose up high. "Fire all the women you've slept with in this hospital," she said in a finalizing tone.
His brows scrunched together. "What? Sakura, do you know what you're saying?" he asked.
"I know exactly what I'm saying. I'm telling you that I don't feel comfortable with you working around so many women you've slept with before me," she said, glaring at me.
"Sakura, let's have this conversation at another time when you're not so upset. What has you upset and why the hell were you in Dr. Akinari's office? Did something happen between you two?" he asked, his voice suddenly turning upset at the mention of Akinari.
"Oh, great. You're going to try and flip things around on me too. All you men are the same—"
"Sakura, you're asking me to do something that I can't just up and do without having a reason to," he said, sitting up straight from the door.
He walked towards her slowly, but she moved back before he could reach her. "So, the fact that you're dating me, isn't reason enough?" she asked testily, glaring at him now.
He stopped approaching her. "No, that's not what I'm saying, and you know that. You know that jobs don't work like that too. I can't just fire people and not have a reason to tell my boss why I'm doing so. It's not even legally possible," he said, frowning at her.
"It's just because you still want to have them around in case you need sex, huh?"
"Sakura. What's wrong with you right now?"
"I don't want to do this anymore with you," she said stubbornly, though she had no meaning behind it.
"What? Sakura, you don't mean that. We haven't even been on our first—"
"Fire them then!" she bellowed.
"Okay, okay. I swear I'll fix that issue as soon as I can. Can we just talk about what has you upset right now?" he asked sadly.
That tone of voice seemed to snap her out of her anger fest as she looked at him, seeing the most pain-stricken expression she had ever seen.
She looked him in the eyes, feeling the back of her eyes burn. "I'm sorry..." she said quietly. "I'm just...Aki really just soured my mood."
He frowned, with a deep hatred in his eyes. "Why were you in his office?" he asked again.
She bit the inside of her cheeks, knowing she could not tell him what had just happened back there.
"Sakura," he called sternly, making her look at him sadly.
"I don't want to get into that right now," she said softly.
"Oh no. No, no, no, you don't get to come in my hospital, cause a fucking ruckus, demand me around in front of my people, and then tell me that you don't want to get into that right now," he said.
She cringed mentally, imagining how she had made herself look, along with him. She had come in his office, acting like she was the boss of him, telling him to follow her around like a puppy in front of people he is over. It looked horrible and like he was a weak man to her.
"I'm sorry..." she said, barely a whisper now.
Maybe she had overreacted a little bit...
"Why were you in his office?" he asked tightly. "I'm not going to ask again because I'm taking action if you don't tell me yourself."
Syaoran has never been one to go back on his word, so she looked at him determined. "He wanted to talk about Eichii and everything that's happened," she said softly.
"In his office? Alone?" he asked.
"Syaoran, don't be ridiculous right now—"
"I'm not being ridiculous. You came in my hospital causing a ruckus in his office with him alone. Don't deem me as the ridiculous one here," he said calmly.
She did not say anything, not sure what she could say. There was no amount of apologies she could give him right now for lashing out at him like that and in his hospital.
"Now, let's try this again. Why the hell were you in his office? It wasn't a conversation you guys could have in the hall?"
"You saw and heard how it was in his office, so of course it couldn't be in the hall. You said you trust me, so don't—"
"I do trust you. It's him that I don't trust. I don't know how many times I have to tell you that," he said gently.
"Enough times where you don't come at me like I'm the one you don't trust. We just needed to talk about everything so we could settle things and that was all we did. The conversation just got a little heated because he started to say things he had no business saying. That was all," she said.
"Come here," he demanded, opening his arms for her.
She walked closer to him slowly, accepting his warm embrace that made her feel just a little better.
He held her tightly, stroking the back of her auburn hair. "Okay...I'm sorry you're so upset," he said softly. "I wish I could make it better, but I don't think I can."
And he could not be the one to make it better. She knew he would if he could.
"I don't have much time left here, but I can stretch enough time to talk about what you mentioned in that text," he said gently, pulling back to look at her.
Her cheeks warmed, realizing she had tackled the conversation the wrong way a few minutes ago.
"Don't fire those women..." she said softly.
"What?"
Her cheeks were almost flames now. "I was...that was out of anger. That is what I wanted to talk about..."
"Oh..." Syaoran said, looking down before his eyes met hers again with determination. "I'll still get rid of them. I can understand how you'd feel that way..."
"You don't...have to fire them. They didn't do anything wrong more than you did...and to make them go without work would be awful. I was just talking stupid when I told you to do that..." she said quietly.
She knew that she could not just push this under the rug, but she certainly did not want to cause so much trouble in those women lives.
She had already come to terms that she could not just put the blame on them. Syaoran made that decision to lie down with them as well, so it would not be right to pretend that they were these awful people.
She had recalled Syaoran talking about taking advantage of one of them who had lost her husband. He had taken advantage of a broken heart and used that to his advantage.
That is wrong.
That did not mean that everything was Syaoran's fault either because she made the decision herself as well. They were all to blame but it was not like she could do anything about it besides talk about it with Syaoran so they could figure out a way to make her feel better about this.
She had thought all of this through.
"Why are you like this...?" Syaoran asked, caressing her face gently. "You're the kindest woman I know alive..."
Her cheeks warmed under his hand. "Stop..."
"Tell me what you want me to do. I'll do it—I'll find a way to do it, at least," he said in a promising tone.
She shook her head, grabbing his hand on her face gently. "Don't fire them...just...I don't want you...working so close with them anymore," she said hesitantly, almost fearfully.
She could not believe she had the guts to do something like this. She never even had to do anything like this with Eichii. In fact, she would have never had the courage to do this. Syaoran always seemed to push this other side of her; the crazy side of her.
"I'll be sure not to put them on any surgeries I'm doing. I'll get their schedules set different from mine for right now until I figure out a way to fix this mess I created..." he said sadly. "I'm sorry."
He leaned down, closing the gap between their lips.
She pulled back from the kiss before it could get anywhere too far. She still wanted to hold off on the sex until they actually started dating in Tomoeda officially.
She had come here to solve one problem, but now she was almost sure that she created more.
Akinari was definitely off the list of fixing her and Syaoran's relationship right now.
They would just have to keep their therapist and patient relationship on hold and private until further notice.
"I promise I'll fix what I ruined. I want you comfortable in this...with us," he said in a determined tone.
She smiled, feeling a little better about all of this now. "Thank you..." she said softly.
"I really hate to end this moment..." he said slowly, making her snap back to reality.
She released his hand, knowing what that meant. "You have to get back to work," she said before he could.
He gave her the saddest look he had ever given her. "I'm sorry..."
She smiled, shaking her head. "No, I'm proud of you. I've said from the start of all of this, I'll support you to the end of all of this."
"I might have a day off this weekend, but I'm not sure...but, if I do, would you want to go on a date?" he asked.
She nodded with a grin on her face. "Of course," she said.
"I don't want to make any promises," he said sadly.
"I know, I know. You said if you don't have work. I know the possibilities," she said reassuringly.
He smiled. "This is why I choose you as the woman I want to spend my life with," he said.
That statement made her pause for a moment, trying to take in exactly what he said.
She may be a bit naive sometimes, but she knew when a person said something that serious, they were saying it with a purpose.
"So, how about we do it the old traditional way? I take you to the movies and we go out to dinner?" Syaoran asked, distracting her from her thoughts.
She smiled at him, nodding her head. She felt grateful for the change of conversation.
"That sounds good," she said softly.
A beeping sound went off, interrupting their moment.
"That's my cue...I can't wait to tell you about everything on Saturday," he said, leaning down to kiss her lips briefly before releasing her.
"I'm excited to hear how things are going," she said, smiling at him encouragingly.
"Come on, I'll see you out," he said, walking towards his office door.
She followed behind him, suddenly feeling a weight lift off her chest and shoulder.
He opened the door for her to step out first. As soon as they got in the halls, Syaoran turned to her and closed the gap between their lips again. "I wish we could stay in that office and make love all day..." he whispered against her lips.
Her cheeks warmed. She could not believe he had just said that like that.
"Were taking this relationship slow, Syaoran..." she reminded him, though she knew that was almost impossible to happen. She still wanted to try, at least. She wanted to see what Syaoran is willing to do for her. If she said she wanted to wait to have sex, would he wait? Or would he run off to some woman with a flimsy skirt to get his release?
He gently pushed her back against the door, trapping her body to it with his. "How much slower can we go? Or are you referring to me going slow with your body? Because you know I can take my time and appreciate how sexy...how beau—"
"Syaoran," she hissed, feeling her cheeks warm at his suggestion. "I'm referring to this relationship."
"Ahem," Sakura heard someone fake cough, making her look in the direction of the voice.
Her eyes widened, seeing a woman in scrubs stand in front of them, watching their interaction with a blush on her face.
Sakura tried to push Syaoran off, but he grabbed her hands, putting them at her side to stop.
"I'm heading down to the room for the next patient. She's American, right?" Syaoran asked as if they had not just got caught.
"Right," Akari said, nodding her head. "Dr. Hans paged you, but he asked me if I could come and get you when he saw me in the halls."
"I'll be down in a couple of seconds," he said in a dismissing tone.
She bowed before leaving them alone.
Sakura looked up at Syaoran, praying that she did not see any lingering attractions towards the woman in his eyes. "Is that Akari?" she asked quietly.
"Yes," he answered honestly. "She's not on the case of the trial, if that's what you're asking."
Even though she was not asking that, it made her feel relieved to hear that. "Oh..."
"I promise you that there's nothing there, Sakura. I only have eyes for you," he said in a promising tone.
She smiled, nodding her head.
"I'll make sure we don't even work on the same floors of the hospital if that makes you feel better," he said.
"And what about the other women?" she asked softly.
"Same thing. I didn't sleep with every single woman in the hospital."
She sighed. "Okay, okay, I trust you," she said softly.
"I just want to make sure you know, okay?"
She nodded.
He leaned down and kissed her lips gently before pulling back. "We take us slow when you tell me to stop, okay? You have the control in all of this, but I'm still planning to lead the way," he said.
She nodded again with a smile. "Yes."
"I'll text you when I get home, be safe," he said, releasing her.
"Okay," she called before he gave her one last kiss before leading her to the elevator with him.
"I wish I could walk you out, but I'm a little behind right now," he said once they settled into the elevator.
She shook her head. "No, it's okay. I'm sorry for just bursting in your hospital like this causing all this trouble. I know you already have so much on your plate and I just came to add more to it," she said, feeling a blush form on her face in shame.
He chuckled. "No, it's okay. It'll just mostly be talk going around. Nothing I can't handle or that's not always happening anyway," he said, shrugging.
"Yeah, but it's talk about me," she said quietly.
The elevator door opened, to her horror.
"You wouldn't be able to work here," he said, smiling at her.
"And that there, is the reason I never would," she said, sticking her tongue at him playfully.
She walked out of the elevator before he could. "I'll see you around, 'kay?" she said, turning her head slightly.
He smiled at her gently, nodding his head.
And she turned around, holding her head high to keep confident, though she was embarrassed by all the eyes on her.
Syaoran flopped on his bed, falling back as he rest his arm over his eyes. He felt beyond exhausted, mentally and physically.
This trial was starting to take a toll on him now. He knew not to overdo it, but working 20 hour shifts was kind of overdoing it a little...
He thought about that before shaking his head at the ridiculous thought. He knew that was definitely overdoing it.
He had already prepared himself for this though. He knew what the consequences were when he decided to start this trial. Even so, he still wanted this. He wanted to make a difference in something that had affected so many people.
He could not wait to tell Sakura about the trial and what they were doing.
His eyes looked at the clock, seeing it was a little past one in the morning. For a moment, he wondered if she were sleeping right now.
Of course she is.
He reached into his pocket, grabbing out his phone. He typed the password in, going straight to Sakura's text messages.
'Be safe!' was the last text she had sent him earlier when he had told her that he would be getting off late tonight.
His fingers started typing a message, very slowly as he wondered what she might say in the morning when she would see the text.
'I...love you' he texted all the way out. He sighed, erasing the message. There was no way he could do that when they had just started "dating" even though they had not been on their first official date.
"I...love you..." Syaoran said out loud to himself to see how it would sound.
He could feel his cheeks warm at that statement. He had never said those words to anyone before, including even to family.
What the hell is wrong with me?
He sent her a quick text, letting her know that he had made it home safe and that he hoped she has good dreams tonight.
Five minutes passed before a text message came through, making his heart leap in his chest.
He looked at the text, seeing her send a kissing emoticon.
Instead of texting back, he pressed the profile picturing, hitting the call label.
The phone rang a few times before the person picked up.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" he asked, sitting up on his bed to lean his back against the headboard of his bed.
He really wished to have her here with him right now.
He heard her soft giggle and rustling on the other end. "Am I supposed to be sleep, sir?" she asked cheekily, making him smile at her comment.
"Actually, you are, young lady. It's way past your bedtime," he said.
"I'm going to head there very soon. I just wanted to make sure you got in safe," she said over the phone.
His cheeks warmed at the sincerity in her voice and the kind act. "You know you don't have to do that. Your health comes first. You take care of you—"
"I know, I know, Dr. Li. I don't need a health lesson right now," she said teasingly.
Even though she was just joking, his body still reacted to the comment. And the way she addressed him.
"I really like when you address me that way," he said boldly, wanting her to know how much she affected him and his body.
"Mmm?" she questioned over the phone.
"Dr. Li. I like when you call me that," he specified for her.
"W-why?"
"Because it's sexy coming from you," he said.
He heard her make that weird noise she had made a few weeks back in Tokyo. He had found the sound to be quite cute, as he had never heard it before.
He could almost see the blush on her face right now. "Stop being embarrassing," he heard her whine.
He chuckled, moving his hand down to his pants. He was getting a little too excited talking to her. "You and this embarrassing talk. We've done the dirty multiple times on multiple occasions. What's there to be embarrassed about?"
"Because...you don't have to say it," he heard the bashfulness in her tone.
He chuckled again, turning over on his side. "You're so cute," he said.
He heard her stifle a yawn, making him glance at the time. "You should head to bed," he said softly.
"I know, but you should too. I really hope that you haven't been overdoing it..."
He could hear the worry in her voice, making him feel a bit guilty, even though she did not necessarily know he had been. "Hopefully I'll get that break on Saturday to take you out. I'm really excited to tell you about the trial and everything that's getting set into motion," he said, smiling at the thought of it.
"I'm looking forward to hearing about it."
He felt relieved that she sounded interested in his work.
"Get some sleep, baby," he said.
"I will. Goodnight," she said through the phone.
"Goodnight."
He held the phone against his ear, waiting for her to hang the phone up.
When she hung the phone up, he pulled the phone from his ear, looking at their texts again. The phone calls were starting to serve no purpose of easing his discomfort in going so long without seeing her.
Granted, they had gone weeks without talking or seeing each other before. The difference this time was the fact that they had started something without starting it.
It may not have made sense to anyone he told that to, but that was how he felt about this.
He sighed, sitting his phone on the side of the bed on the nightstand.
Sakura had been right about him. Maybe he still was mental right now.
At that thought, he was reminded that he had not gone to therapy in a good while. They had not had any talks about sessions either.
Maybe Sakura had been right when she said that his life was going great, therefore, his actual problem was not taking any action.
But maybe he is better...
He grabbed his phone again, sitting up on the bed now. He went to a contact he had not ever went to since being a teenager.
'Mom'
His heart tightened in his chest as his fingers clenched his phone tighter.
If he was better, he would be able to do this.
He pressed the message bar, going to the text app.
He could feel himself starting to tremble the more he stared at the name on the phone.
He thought he had deleted everything of her from his life, including her contact information.
And he still had her labeled, "Mom", as if she had actually been his mom.
She was nothing to him.
Despite these thoughts, he still wanted to do this. He wanted to see if he was truly better.
He had gotten texts from her over the years, but he never responded. At one point, he had blocked her number but could not remember when he unblocked her.
He looked at the previous messages over the years, feeling a flood of different emotions overtake him.
'Little wolf, I miss—'
He switched his phone off, realizing this was beyond too much for him.
Anger, hatred, bitterness, pain, memories...
No emotions he had any business feeling about a woman who had technically brought him into this world.
He wanted to get rid of these thoughts of anger; this feeling of...wanting another person dead.
All he could see was the abuse. All he could hear was the abuse.
Everything felt so...vivid and...real.
He closed his eyes, trying to concentrate on other things.
Sex.
...
Sex.
...
Sex.
Sex.
Sex.
Sex.
"Okay!" he exclaimed, wanting the word to stop taunting him.
He could not understand why he was like this. It was starting to frustrate the hell out of him. He could not understand what he did to deserve this.
He went to Sakura's contact information, sending her a quick text, asking if he could come over.
His leg bounced up and down anxiously, hoping she would text him back soon.
This was irrational of him. He had to be up at six in the morning.
He just wanted Sakura to hold him right now though; make him forget this pain.
Maybe she had been right when she said he still needed help.
Why did sex still come to mind? He was sure that he never had sex with Sakura to make himself better.
Sakura meant so much more than him wanting to use her for sex.
Sakura meant...the world to him.
His phone buzzed a few minutes later, making him look at the text.
'Of course. Is everything okay?'
That was all he needed to see before he hopped off the bed, grabbing his jacket and heading out of his apartment.
A/N: Hello, everyone! I'm a day late from when I said I'd update, but again, thank you guys so much for the support and reviews! I really enjoyed reading and responding to them. It feels like such a long time since I had the time to do that, plus, there's so much more to respond to since I last had that opportunity. I'm going to try and get a few more updates up before the years out, so you guys won't have to wait so long! The process of getting into grad school is coming close to the end, so I have so much more time to write!
But anyway, what did you guys think of this chapter? Sakura snapped! I was thinking of letting her remain calm like she normally does, but...I don't see how she could've remained calm with what Aki said to her xD. And seeing Syaoran didn't make it any better haha. Aside from the argument, what do you guys think will happen between the two friends now that they just had a whole big shabang? What will the rumors be in the next chapter at the hospital? Will Syaoran kill himself over this trial by being restless? Hmmm...
Aside from that, I just want to let you guys know and look forward to Syaoran's mother is going to be mentioned a lot in the next chapter, which means one thing...her arrival is approaching really soon :P.
I'm going to end the note there.
Ja ne!
