South Park Emotional Warzone Chapter 19: Matthew's First Birthday
At Stan and Lyra's house, Stan is watching his news interview on how he won the lottery and smiling all the while. He had recorded it on DVR and this is the sixth time he's watched it that day. The interview starts up again with South Park's anchorman, Tom Thompson, introducing himself in front of the lottery office.
"Hello South Park, I'm Tom Thompson in front of South Park Town Hall with the winner of the $5.3 billion lottery ticket, Mr. Stan Marsh." Thompson said as the camera zoomed out to show both him and Stan in the frame. Thompson turned to face Stan and bean to interview him, "So Stan, from what I've heard you never really believed in winning the lottery and this is your first time playing, correct?
"That's right, Tom," Stan said.
"So I'll assume you weren't originally thinking about playing the lottery this time, right?" Thompson asked.
"Correct," Stan said.
"What made you change your mind?" Thompson asked.
"Well throughout my day I saw these six numbers and they just kept circling around my mind, you know," Stan began, "So I took that as a sort of sign to use those numbers and try out for the lottery. Sure enough those same numbers are the ones that made me $5.3 billion richer. So if there's anything I can say to the people at home it's that if you think fate is trying to send you a message, in my case it was the winning lottery numbers, don't ignore it because it could very well change your life forever."
"Very nice, thank you," Thompson said.
"No, no, thank you." Stan said most cordially.
As Stan was watching his interview, his daughter Lyra enters and takes notice as to what Stan is watching.
"You're watching your interview again?" Lyra asked, "That's the sixth time today. I understand that you winning the lottery is a huge game changer for us, but don't you think watching your interview again and again makes you just a little bit conceited?"
"I don't see this as being conceited, but more like I'm proud of this achievement," Stan said.
"Speaking of the money, I know you put some away in a college fund for me and put some in the stock market due to the advice of a friend from your work, but that still leaves us with a behemoth sum of cash," Lyra said, "Any idea with what you want to do with it?"
"Well there is one thing I'd like to do with it, but I'd like to keep it a secret because it involves you, Bebe and her kids too," Stan said.
"Oh, I get it," Lyra said, "Speaking of Bebe isn't it Matthew's first birthday today?"
"That's right," Stan said, "We'd better get ready to head over to the party."
Stan and Lyra left the living room to prepare themselves for Matthew's party.
For Bebe and her kids, this day was not only one of grandest celebration since it was Matthew's first birthday, but it was also a day of great mourning since Kyle also died on the same day. They decided to go to the graveyard where Kyle is buried to pay their respects. The four of them approached Kyle's gravestone, flowers in hand, and they just stared at it for a while before Bebe finally says something.
"Izzy, Felix, would you two like to go first?" Bebe asked her two oldest children.
"Go ahead Izzy, you first." Felix said and Isabella stepped forward.
Izzy stepped up to Kyle's grave stone, kneeled down, and placed her flower in front of it.
"Oh, daddy," Isabella said, "I miss you so much, I hope you know that. I think you'd be happy that mommy has moved on and is dating Mr. Marsh who won the lottery. I bet you're proud of him for that. Mommy told me how close you and him were. But anyway, we're all doing great, and Mr. Marsh is taking real good care of us. I just wish you were here to see me, Felix, and especially Matthew grow up. Wherever you are I hope you're proud of us and I hope all is well. I love you and I miss you.
Isabella stepped back and let Felix have his turn. He kneeled down and placed his flower in front of the gravestone.
"Hi, dad," Felix said placing a hand over his heart, "Wherever you are, I know for a fact that you can hear me. I just want to say that we're all doing great and Matthew is turning one year old today. I wish you would've had more time with him and that he got to know how amazing of a father you are. Thank you for everything that you've done for all of us. I hope someday I can be as great of a father as you. I love you dad, let us meet again someday.
Finally it was Bebe's turn. With Matthew, who was holding the third flower, in her arms she lowered him down so Matthew could drop the flower in front of the gravestone. Bebe kneeled down and started to pray.
"My Kyle," Bebe began, "God, it feels like just yesterday when we started dating. And now here we are. Wherever you are, you don't have to worry about me or the kids since Stan is taking really great care of us. Stan might be amazing but he will never truly replace you, Kyle, my first love. I bought Matthew here so you can hopefully see how much he's grown over the course of the year. I wish more than anything that you could be here right now to celebrate his birthday with us. I know you would've been very proud. As for Felix and Izzy, well, they're always just fine. They're even better now that I'm dating Stan. It's like they have a second chance on having a father in their lives. I know they'd be even better if you were in them, though. In short, I miss you, Kyle, with all my heart, and I'll always love you. I hope we see each other again real soon.
Bebe got up and stared at Kyle's gravestone with Matthew, some tears rolling down her cheeks. Felix and Isabella came to her sides and joined her in looked at the gravestone. Felix took notice and it was then that he remembered what Clyde had told him at the diner two months back.
"Bebe loved Kyle more than anything…So, when something bad happens that causes that love to be ripped away from them, it hurts worse than any pain they had ever endured…Even if you do get Stan and Bebe together, it won't entirely erase the memories and the pain that they have."
At that moment, Felix truly realized what Clyde meant. Even though it was clear that Bebe loved Stan deeply, it paled in comparison to the love she had for Kyle.
Bebe continued to look at Kyle's gravestone with a stoically depressing look on her face. Matthew could tell Bebe was depressed and he hugged his mother. Bebe smiled warmly at her baby's sign of affection
"Matthew, my baby, thank you." Bebe said as she smiled at the baby, "Now that we've said hi to daddy, let's go over to the McCormick's for you first every birthday party!"
Bebe and her kids proceeded to leave the graveyard, but little did they know they were being watched from afar by Jacques.
"Where could mon belle be heading today?" Jacques asked himself.
Meanwhile, at the McCormick Residence, the likes of Stan, Lyra, Shelly, Junior, Karen, Penny, Firkle, Kenny, Lola and their kids, Craig, Heidi and their daughter, Sally, Tweek, and their daughters, Red, Clyde and their kids, Butters, Millie and their kids, Cody and his kids, Randy, Sharon, Jeffrey, Helen, Sheila, Gerald, Ike, even Wendy's parents, Gary and Valerie, and Cody's friends, Justin, Bridgette, Sid, Kurt, Ursula, and Odette, are busy setting up the backyard for Matthew's first birthday party.
The McCormick's backyard has a big in-ground swimming pool with a tiki bar on one side of the pool. There are tables with snacks, food, and the birthday cake on the other side of the pool. On the house's deck is a BBQ grill where hot dogs, burgers, and chicken legs will be served up courtesy of Kurt and Clyde. On the lawn part of the backyard is a little stage where Sid is tuning his guitar and Tori is setting up magician equipment. There was also another table that had presents for Matthew. Finally, all of the backyard is decorated in very colorful streamers and balloons with one big banner that reads, 'Happy 1st Birthday!' in blue lettering.
Kenny and Lola provided the venue for the party, as mentioned by Bebe a few times in the past, while Stan volunteered to take charge in setting everything up. He looked around carrying a clipboard.
"Alright, all, Bebe and her kids will be here any minute," Stan said, "Let's go down the list to make sure we have everything. Present table?"
"Check!" Butters said as he, Millie, Paul, and Carrie set the presents up in a pyramid shape.
"Birthday cake?" Stan said.
"Check!" Junior said as Shelly placed a candle on it.
"Entertainment?" Stan said.
"Tori and I are ready to go, Mr. Marsh," Sid said as he finished tuning his guitar.
"Decorations?" Stan said.
"Check!" Heidi said as she and Craig finished putting up the last of the streamer.
"Pool and pool toys?" Stan said.
"The pool is all chlorinated and we've got the toys right here," Lola said.
"Foods and beverages?" Stan asked.
"We're grilling these bad boys up as we speak, Stan!" Clyde said as he and Kurt man the grill.
"All of the snacks and sides are all good too," Red said as she stood near the snack table.
"Coolers are packed with water, lemonade, soda, and Capri-Suns for the kids," Ursula said.
"And don't worry, son, your mother and I can handle the tiki bar," Randy said as he and Sharon volunteered to be bar tenders.
"Thanks, dad," Stan said, "Well I think that's everything. All we have to do now is wait."
It was at this moment when Cody came up to him.
"Hey, Stan," Cody greeted.
"Hey, Cody, glad you could make it," Stan said as he shook his hand, "We never really had the opportunity to talk since Kenny and Lola's wedding."
"Yeah, I know, it's great to see you again," Cody said, "And thanks for letting me invite my friends and their kids. I know their kids and my kids have gotten along well with all of yours. And I think my friends are hitting it off well with your friends too."
Stan and Cody look to see that both of their groups of friends are getting along very well. Kurt and Clyde are chatting as they prepare the food. Ursula is hanging out and gossiping with Red, Sally, Shelly, and Heidi. Justin is shooting the breeze with Tweek, Craig, Firkle, and Kenny as they sip on some vodka cranberries. Bridgette is sitting at a table with Lola, Karen, Butters, and Millie and the five of them are just talking and telling stories.
"You do have a nice bunch of friends, don't you?" Stan asked.
"The best," Cody said.
Suddenly, Barry came running out to the backyard in a hurry.
"Everyone, I just saw Mrs. Broflovski pull up!" Barry said.
"Alright, everybody gather 'round!" Stan said, "I want Bebe and the kids to see us all together when she comes out here!"
Everyone gathered in a group and stood a few feet away from the door leading to the deck. A few seconds later, Bebe emerged with Matthew in her arms and Felix and Isabella following right behind her.
"Surprise!" The group shouted, much to Bebe and the kids' delight. They all looked at the party in front of them and were blown away.
"Wowza!" Felix said before turning to his baby brother, "Check it out Matthew, this is all for you!" Matthew giggled with much joy from hearing that.
"Oh, wow!" Bebe smiled before turning to Kenny and Lola, "Kennny, Lola, thank you."
"Don't look at us, Bebe," Kenny said, "We only provided the venue."
"That's right," Lola said as Stan stepped forward, "Stan here organized the whole thing."
"So that's why it looks so great!" Bebe said as she hugged Stan, "Thank you, sweetie, you really are amazing."
"I try, Bebe," Stan said, "On a day like this, Matthew deserves the whole world and then some. And so do you."
Bebe and Stan give each other a quick peck on the lips before Bebe's father, Jeffrey, steps in.
"As touching of a moment this is, last I checked this was a birthday party," Jeffrey said, "So how about we all start acting like it, people!?"
Everyone cheered in agreement as Matthew's first birthday went in full swing. Sid kicked off the party by jumping up on the stage and grabbing his guitar.
"Happy first birthday, Matthew, dude!" Sid said into the microphone, "This one is especially for you!"
With that, Sid started to play The Beatles' Birthday song.
"You say it's your birthday! It's my birthday too, yeah! They say it's your birthday! We're gonna have a good time! I'm glad it's your birthday! Happy birthday to you!" Sid sang.
Matthew listened to the music Sid was playing and he started to bop to the beat in Bebe's arms.
"Oh, my, seems like Sid has a little fan in my Matthew," Bebe said to Bridgette, "Your son is quite talented."
"Thank you," Bridgette said.
"Woo! Go, Sid!" Justin cheered.
While Sid continued to play his song for Matthew, the likes of Felix, Isabella, Chelsea, Edgar, Paul, Lindsay, Larry, Barry, and Junior got in their swimsuits and jumped into the pool with Sheila, Helen, Gerald, and Jeffrey acting as the lifeguards.
"Ah, what a perfect day," Edgar said lounging in an inflatable chair.
Chelsea got up on the diving board and called out to Felix, "Hey, Felix, check this jump out!"
Chelsea leapt off the board and performed some rather graceful spins and flips before landing in the water with a splash. Some of the water from the splash got on Edgar.
"Hey, can we calm it down with the splashing?" Edgar asked, started to get annoyed, "I'm trying to relax here."
At this point, the other children in the pool got a wicked idea to tick Edgar off.
"Splash fight!" Lindsay shouted and the eight kids began splashing about, laughing all the while. Some stray drops landed on Edgar's face, annoying him further.
"Guys what did I say?" Edgar said with venom in his voice.
"I know what'll really ruffle his feathers," Larry said, "Junior, help me out, please."
"Okay, we'll be back everyone," Junior said as he and Larry got out of the pool.
Larry went back into the house and came back with a can of grease and a watermelon. The two boys took the watermelon and started to grease it up.
"Uh, what are you boys doing?" Isabella asked.
"You'll see," Larry said.
Once the two felt the watermelon was greased up enough…
"GREASED WATERMELON!" Larry and Junior shouted as they pushed the greased up watermelon into the pool. Immediately the other six kids tried to grab it creating a big ruckus.
"Play nice kids," Gerald said as he saw the kids go crazy in trying to grab the watermelon and he even took notice that Edgar's expression was growing more and more annoyed.
"I want a piece of that action," Larry said as he jumped in.
"Don't count me out!" Junior said as he ran to the diving board and prepared to jump, "Cannon ball!"
Junior jumped and curled up into a ball, splashing ferociously in the water. Since Edgar was floating near the epicenter of the splash, the force of it made Edgar fall out of his inflatable chair and into the water. The eight kids stopped horsing around and watched as Edgar rose back to the surface, a very angry look on his face. That look of extreme anger turned into an evil grin as out of nowhere a pulled out a huge water gun and started to pump it up.
"Alright, you all asked for it!" Edgar said pumping it up.
"Oh boy!" Paul shouted.
"Ready to fire!" Edgar shouted as he took aim and pulled the trigger and sprayed the nine kids in front of him.
"We're not going down without a fight, Edgar!" Barry shouted as he jumped out of the pool and ran to a box to pull out more water guns. He tossed them to the other seven kids and they prepared to fire back at Edgar.
"Aw, yeah, buddy!" Larry shouted, "Say hello to my little friend!"
The seven kids started to fire their water guns at Edgar who retaliated with even more water blasts. The water war continued for about 20 minutes before Lyra came to the poolside to talk to her friends.
"Guys, come on," Lyra said, "It's time for Matthew to open his presents."
The eight kids got out of the pool, dried off, and went back to their respective families as everyone gathered around the present table.
At the present table, Bebe and Matthew were sitting on a picnic blanket in front of the table and Stan was standing by the table, ready to hand them one of Matthew's gifts. Everyone present at the party had something for Matthew. Even the Smith and Powers' Families gave Matthew something nice.
Bebe's gift to Matthew was a canvas wall hanging that read, "I love you more than all the stars in the sky"
Justin and Bridgette gave Matthew a cat piano (Yes, the same one that Jeffy from SuperMarioLogan owns)
Kurt and Ursula gave Matthew a collection of Dr. Seuss books.
Cody gave Matthew a Fisher-Price Corn Popper Push Toy.
Shelly gave Matthew a green stuffed frog toy.
Tweek and Sally gave Matthew loads of clothes and pajamas.
Butters and Millie gave Matthew a Fisher Price Bright Beats Dance & Move Beatbo.
Clyde and Red gave Matthew some Blue's Clues DVDs.
Craig and Heidi gave Matthew some Mega Bloks.
Kenny and Lola gave Matthew a Fisher Price Barn Animal See 'n Say.
Karen and Firkle gave Matthew a shiny yellow ball.
Sheila, Gerald, and Ike gave Matthew some nightlights.
Jeffrey and Helen gave Matthew a personalized puzzle stool so he could spell his own name.
Randy and Sharon gave Matthew a Red Flyer wagon.
And Gary and Valerie gave Matthew a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Car.
Finally, Stan's gift was the only one that was left. He grabbed his gift from off the present table and handed it to Bebe and Matthew.
"Only one present left," Stan said, "And I assure you it's a good one."
"If it's coming from you it must be," Bebe said.
Bebe helped Matthew open up the last gift to reveal a box that read, 'Personalized Quilt.' Curious, Bebe opened the box and pulled the quilt out. She unfolded it to reveal that the quilt had a picture of Kyle!
"Oh my goodness!" Bebe said amazed, "Stan this is beautiful."
"I figured that since Kyle, you know, couldn't be here for Matthew, I should find a way to make it seem like he's always here with us. So I sent the people who made this quilt a picture of Kyle so they could make it." Stan explained, "I gave Lyra a quilt with a picture of Wendy last Christmas and I thought that Matthew could use the same thing."
"Thank you so much, Stan, I really appreciate it." Bebe said before showing Matthew the quilt, "Look, Matthew, it's your father. Stan got this quilt for you so you can always remember him."
Matthew grabbed the quilt with his tiny hands and looked at his father's face on it. After a few seconds, Matthew giggled a little and started to nuzzle it.
"I think he likes it, Stan." Bebe said.
"I knew he would." Stan smiled warmly, "Happy Birthday Matthew."
Matthew continued to hold and nuzzle the quilt while everyone present smiled at him and felt a tugging feeling in their heartstrings.
A few minutes after that was when everybody got some lunch, courtesy of Kurt and Clyde. Once everyone had a plate was when they settled in front of the main stage to watch Tori's magic show. With everyone ready for the show, Tori emerged from backstage wearing a top hat and cape along with her street clothes to begin the show.
"Hello, everyone!" Tori said with a bow before looking into the audience, "I'm pleased to see such a big crowd today. Now from what I understand a certain someone is celebrating his very first birthday today. In fact, I think I see that someone right now. Yes, down in front!"
Tori pointed at Matthew down in the front of the audience before taking off her hat and showing everyone that there's nothing inside. She then waved her hand over it a few times before reaching inside and pulling out a white stuffed rabbit toy. She went off stage for a minute and handed the baby the stuffed rabbit, much to his delight.
"Here you are, my child," Tori said, "I know you'll take really good care of him."
Tori went back on stage ready to get on with the show, "And now for my next trick, I'd like a volunteer. How about…you!"
Tori pointed at Barry McCormick who came up on stage to join her.
"Would you kindly tell me your name, sir," Tori said.
"Tori, you know my name, it's Barry," Barry said.
"Work with me here, dude." Tori whispered.
"Oh, my name is Barry." Barry said.
"Wonderful," Tori said before pulling out a bundle of cards, "Pick a card, any car, my friend."
Barry pulled a card out from the bundle to reveal the Queen of Hearts.
"Oh, the Queen of Hearts," Tori said, "A beautiful card I must say."
Tori took the card from Barry and put it back with the rest of the bundle.
"Now Barry, can you turn your right pocket inside out for me?" Tori asked and Barry did just that, "As you can see, my beautiful audience, Barry's pockets are empty. You can go ahead and turn your pocket outside in, now."
As Barry returned his right pocket to their normal state Tori stepped up to the edge of the stage so she's away from him.
"Now then," Tori said, "I'm standing away from Barry, there's nothing in my sleeves, and what you're going to see now is totally real. So, Barry, on the count of three, I want you to reach into your right pocket. Are you all ready? One…Two…Three!
Barry reached into his previously empty right pocket, and he pulled out the Queen of Hearts card!
"Is that your card?" Tori asked.
"It is!" Barry exclaimed as he showed the audience the card causing them to clap.
"Thank you, Barry, you're much too kind," Tori said as he reached behind his ear and pulled out a $5, "Here, kid, go buy yourself something nice."
"Thanks!" Barry said as he ran off stage and rejoined the audience.
"Now for my next trick, I need another volunteer, a girl this time!" Tori said as the girls in the audience raised their hands. Eventually she pointed at Mimi Tweak and she ran up on stage.
"What's your name, miss," Tori asked.
"Mimi Tweak!" She answered.
"Well, tell me, Mimi, how much do you know about time travel?" Tori asked.
"Time travel?" Mimi questioned, "I thought this was a magic show not a science expo."
"I'll take that as 'not enough'," Tori said as she went back stage and pulled out a tall cardboard box with a clock and lightning bolts painted on it, "Look here! This is my Chrono Capsule! You enter this box and you come out in a different period of time. And guess what, Mimi, you're going in there."
"Cool," Mimi said as she went into the box.
"Before I shut the door on you, tell me what time period you'd like to visit." Tori said.
"Take me to the Wild West Era!" Mimi quickly answered.
"Very well," Tori said as she shut the box's door and started to spin it around while chanting, "Cacti, saloons, and outlaws a plenty! Send this girl back to the 19th century! Alakazam!"
With that, Tori opened the box to reveal that Mimi was gone, surprising everyone and giving Tweek, Sally, and Cici a mini heart attack.
"For those of you wondering if Mimi is alright, I assure you that she's just fine." Tori said, "In fact, let's bring her back in case you don't believe me."
Tori closed the box door, spun it around some more, and started to chant again, "This trick is over as you can plainly see! It's time to bring Mimi back home for you and me! Abracadabra!"
Tori opened the box to reveal Mimi wearing a Stetson hat, cowgirl boots, and even toting a gun along with her street clothes. Mimi came out of the box looking around and frowned.
"Come on, Tori, why'd you have to bring me back?" Mimi whined, "I finally had a pony of my own and everything."
Tori, ignoring Mimi's protests, just went, "Ta-da," causing everyone to clap and applaud. Mimi went back to her family and sat down.
"Oh, Mimi, I'm so glad you're alright," Tweek said.
"What was the west like?" Cici asked.
"Amazing!" Mimi said before turning to Sally, "Mom can I keep my gun?"
"No!" Sally said snatching the gun away from her daughter.
Tori put the 'Chrono Capsule' away and then brought a chair out on stage.
"Observe if you will this chair!" Tori said before covering it with a tarp, "Before your very eyes I will make this chair float in mid-air!"
Tori stood back, and by waving her hands and closing her eyes she made the chair float, much to everyone's amazement. She opened her eyes and continued to address the audience.
"Now I know what we're all thinking," Tori began, "Who's to say there is someone underneath the tarp raising the chair over his head? I don't know why don't you ask…NO ONE!"
Tori pulled the tarp off of the chair to reveal that Tori has in fact made the chair float in mid-air, eliciting even more applause from the audience.
"Wow, Cody, your daughter is really good at this!" Shelly whispered into Cody's ear.
"She's been practicing these tricks all week," Cody said.
"Now I'll assume it's almost time for cake, no?" Tori asked Bebe.
"Almost," Bebe said.
"Then it looks like I have time for one more magic trick," Tori said, "And I assure you, this is my best trick yet!"
Tori pulled out two boxes and two square shaped blades, "Now I'll need two volunteers for my last and most daring trick," Tori said, "And what better volunteers than the father-daughter duo of Mr. Marsh and Lyra?"
"Hmm?" Stan said quizzically.
"Come on, dad, let's give it a go!" Lyra said enthusiastically as she grabbed her father's hand and ran up on stage.
"Judging by the props you bought out, you're going with an old favorite and are going to try and saw us in half!" Stan said nervously.
"You couldn't be more correct, Mr. Marsh." Tori said, "But fear not, I've done this twice already with Edgar and my daddy, and they turned out a-okay."
"Don't worry, Mr. Marsh, my sister knows what she's doing!" Edgar said.
Lyra and Stan got into the boxes and Tori closed them so only the duo's heads and feet were showing.
"So, Tori, is this going to hurt?" Stan said with beads of sweat running down his face.
"Well you may feel a little discomfort," Tori said, "But according to daddy and Edgar it felt more like a pinch. Kind of like when you get a shot."
"I don't know why you're so nervous, dad," Lyra said, "I trust Tori completely."
"Hey, Lyra, if this goes horribly wrong can I have your Nintendo Switch?" Penny asked causing Karen to elbow her into being silent, "Ow, it was just a question."
"Oh, I can't watch!" Bebe said closing her eyes, just as afraid as Stan is.
"Okay here we go!" Tori said as she began placed the first square blade through Stan's box, who let out a sigh of relief when he still felt alive. Tori went over to Lyra's box and repeated the process.
"And now, the moment we've all been waiting for!" Tori said as she pulled the boxes apart to reveal that she has successfully split Lyra and Stan in half while also not killing them. Everybody applauded wonderfully, but Tori wasn't done.
"Let's have a little fun, shall we?" Tori said as she took the half box with the duo's legs and switched them so Stan had Lyra's legs and vice versa. Tori lifted the square blades and opened the boxes to show what this combination looked like causing everyone to laugh.
"This feels…very weird." Lyra said looking at herself with her father's legs.
"I'm not so sure if I like this." Stan said looking at himself with his daughter's legs.
"Alright enough is enough," Tori said as she closed the boxes and drove the square blades through them again. She switched Stan and Lyra's legs back so they're right back where they belong. Tori then opened the boxes once more to show Stan and Lyra unharmed, in one piece, and back to normal.
"Ta-da!" Tori shouted causing the audience to clap loudly again as Stan and Lyra returned to the audience, "Thank you Lyra and Mr. Marsh, you two have been great volunteers. Well, that's all the magic I have to show for today. But I have one more trick up my sleeve meant especially for Matthew."
Tori went backstage and grabbed a table and another tarp. She unfolded the tarp and placed it on top of the table.
"Mrs. McCormick, be a lamb and see how the cake is doing," Tori said to Lola.
Lola went over to the table where the cake was supposed to be and gasped when she found the cake was gone!
"It's gone!" Lola cried as she ran back to the magic show.
"Mr. Marsh, you ordered the cake. What did it look like? Maybe I can find it." Tori said.
"Well it was a chocolate cake with white and blue frosting," Stan described, "There were blue flowers in the corner and in green frosting it read "Happy First Birthday Matthew! And to top it all off there was a single blue candle in the cake."
Tori nodded and had her face on her chin as she thought.
"Okay, I think I get it," Tori said as she grabbed the tarp, "So tell me, did the cake look like…this!"
Tori pulled back the tarp and revealed Matthew's birthday cake with the candle already lit, and a stack of paper plates. Everyone was amazed and applauded.
"Mrs. Broflovski, if you could bring Matthew up here so he can put out the candle of his cake, please," Tori said.
As Bebe brought Matthew on stage, everyone started to sing…
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear, Matthew, happy birthday to you."
Tori pulled out a white folding fan, unfolded it, and handed it to Matthew.
"Here you are, Matthew," Tori said softly, "Make a wish and wave the fan to blow out the candle."
Matthew giggled and started to have the fan in front of the candle, putting the candle out. Everyone clapped as a result and Tori pulled out a big knife for cake cutting.
"Stan, would you like the honors of cutting the cake?" Bebe asked as Stan came up on stage and took the knife from Tori.
"Gladly," Stan said.
Stan cut the first piece of gave it to Matthew before cutting up slices for everyone else. Everyone ate cake and talked like the gaggle of friends that they were. Loads of laughter and good times went around. It was such a good time that no one would change a thing about it if given the opportunity.
Sometime later, all of the kids went inside the McCormick house to hang out and the grandparents followed suit to supervise them, leaving the parents and Ike by themselves to just talk. Little did they know, however, that on the other side of the fence separating the McCormick's backyard from the street Jacques was trying to listen in on anything important.
"Zut alors," Jacques muttered while still hiding, "When are these fools going to give me something interesting to work on so I can woo Bebe?"
Jacques looked through a knothole in the fence to see Stan stand up and begin to talk.
"So are we all in agreement that this is a great party?" Stan asked.
"Heck yeah, dude!" Craig said.
"You did an amazing job setting it all up, Stan," Millie said.
"Yeah, top notch!" Kurt said.
"The only thing greater than my set up would be Sid's music performance and especially Tori's magic show," Stan said, "Justin, Bridgette, Cody, you all must be so proud of your kids."
"Believe us, Stan, we are," Bridgette said.
"I think my Tori enjoyed performing as much as we enjoyed her performance," Cody said.
"How long has your daughter performed magic tricks, Cody?" Red asked.
"Since she was five," Cody said, "Six years and she pulling off tricks that only the masters can pull off."
"You can say that again," Heidi said, "My heart skipped a beat watching that saw trick with Stan and Lyra."
"You think your heart skipped a beat, I almost went into cardiac arrest after seeing that," Bebe said causing everyone to laugh.
As everybody laughed, Clyde looked over at Ike to see he wasn't laughing. In fact, he looked kind of sad.
"Hey, Ike, what's wrong?" Clyde asked.
"Huh, oh, nothing Clyde," Ike said, "I was just thinking about Kyle, how proud he would be of Matthew today, and how much he also would've loved this party."
Everyone's mood quickly turned from happy to sad as they thought about Kyle and how unfairly his life was taken from him. Even Justin, Bridgette, Kurt, and Ursula, who have never even met Kyle, began to feel depressed.
"Yeah, Kyle definitely would've loved today, Ike." Butters said.
"Wherever he is now, I know he must be happy for his youngest son," Karen said.
"Yeah," Bebe said wistfully as she looked up at the sky.
A moment of silence was had as everyone stared up into the sky with her, trying to imagine what life would be like if Kyle were still here walking amongst them. Firkle was the first to speak after a while.
"What are we all doing here?" Firkle said, "This is supposed to be a day of celebration! Now is not the time to be sad! Do that on your own time!"
"Georgie is right everyone," Karen said, "Let's try and think of happy thoughts."
"Wow, Firkle has come a long way since he was Kindergoth hasn't he?" Sally remarked towards Firkle's optimism,
"Let's talk about Stan's $5.3 billion lottery victory!" Kenny suggested.
Jacques heard Kenny from the other side of the fence and he gritted his teeth with anger, "Stanley, that fils de pute!" he muttered, "Of course he'd win the lottery that I was trying to rig!" Jacques continued to listen in on the conversation everyone was having.
"Oh that's right," Cody said, "Shelly told me you won the lottery. So what are you and Lyra going to do with the cash?"
"Well I already dropped a good amount into a college fun for Lyra," Stan said, "And one of my co-workers has a brother who works at Wall Street, and he told me all of the best stocks to invest in."
"A great way for the rich to get richer?" Craig said, "Nice."
"But that only means I have more money that I have no idea what to do with," Stan said before taking a glance towards Bebe, "I do have one plan for it, but I want to wait for the right time."
"What's that, Stan?" Bebe asked noticing the look Stan is giving her.
"Patience, love, patience," Stan said before turning to everyone else, "I think I might take Lyra on a nice vacation before school starts back up in September."
"Where do you plan on taking her?" Ursula asked.
"I don't know, but I want to go somewhere really nice," Stan said, "Especially since we couldn't really celebrate her birthday this year on account of her being sick with a stomach virus."
"Yeah, we couldn't really celebrate Mimi or Cici's birthday last year either," Tweek said, "Not because they were sick, but they chose to hang out with some friends."
"That goes double for our Lindsay," Heidi said.
"Paul was the same way on his birthday," Millie said, "And Carrie caught a cold on hers."
"On their birthday Barry had to go out of town for a Junior Chess Tournament, and Larry was grounded, so we couldn't celebrate their birthdays either," Kenny said.
"You know mine and Penny's situation," Karen said, "We don't have a lot of money so options for a great birthday are limited."
"I was sick on Junior's birthday so we couldn't really do much," Shelly said.
"Both Tommy and Chelsea's birthdays Red and I had to spend working." Clyde said remorsefully.
"Yeah, Odette's too," Kurt said just as remorsefully.
"Restaurant business is never an easy one," Ursula said.
"You think owning a restaurant is bad? Try being a doctor," Cody said, "Both Edgar and Tori's recent birthdays I had to miss because being a doctor is a 'round the clock kind of job."
"Sid is an odd case," Bridgette said, "He says he doesn't need all the bells and whistles of a party, and just knowing he lived another great year is all he needs."
"We always ask him if he wants to do something special but he just shakes it off," Justin said.
"I hear what you all are saying," Bebe said, "Both Felix and Isabella wanted to spend their birthday's at their friends' house for a sleepover."
"So you're all telling me that not a one of us was able to give our children a great birthday this year for one reason or another?" Stan asked.
"Sounds that way, Stan," Red said.
Suddenly, Stan got a wonderful idea. Since he won the lottery, has tons of cash to spend, and he just learned that he and his friends couldn't give their kids a proper birthday, he came up with the wonderful idea to share a little bit of his wealth.
"Okay, here's a shot out of a cannon," Stan said, "What if all of us, I'm talking us, our kids, and even my, Bebe, Kyle, and Wendy's parents just go on a vacation together to make up for the fact we couldn't give our kids a proper birthday? I'll even pay for the plane tickets!"
"Wow, you're willing to do that Stan?" Butters asked.
"Hell yeah," Stan said, "I need to spend my winnings on something, and while plane tickets for 48 people might make a small dent in my $5.3 billion, it'll just grow back due to my investments in the stock market."
"I think that's a very wonderful idea, Stan," Bebe said as she gave him a hug and a kiss.
"Wait, you're even letting us go?" Justin asked referring to him and his family as well as the Smiths.
"Hell yeah, dude," Stan said, "You all seem like nice people, and you hit it off well with us. I say why not?"
"Yee-haw!" Kurt exclaimed.
"Any particular place any of you guys want to go?" Stan asked.
"Somewhere warm and sunny!" Millie said.
"Somewhere near the ocean!" Karen said.
"Somewhere where I can gawk at some cute babes," Ike said.
"Well, I just so happened to think of a place that has everything you all just asked for," Stan said, "I'm going to whisper the location into Bebe's ear and then the two of us will pass it on to two more people, and the four of will pass it on and so on."
"Do it, dude!" Kenny said.
Stan whispered the location into Bebe's ear causing her to smile. The two then went up to Clyde and Red and whispered the location into their ears and they smiled. The four then told everyone else and once everyone was informed, decided to spread the good word to their kids and the grandparents inside. Jacques was still looking in through the fence's knothole and he watched as they all went inside.
"Oh, la, la!" Jacques said, "A vacation! I must find out more!"
Jacques ran to the front of the McCormick Residence and found an open window that lead to the living room. Jacques heard the kids talking and playing from inside and he ran and ducked underneath the window so he could hear the adults address the kids on what was going on when they arrived.
After a few seconds, the parents of the kids arrived into the living room.
"Yo, kids, what's shaking?" Ike said.
"Hey, Uncle Ike!" Felix said, "What's up?"
"Well, kids, Mr. Marsh has something to tell you all," Bebe said.
"Yup, and it involves the grandparents too," Stan said.
"Oh really?" Sheila asked.
"And it's big news too, guys, trust us," Firkle said.
"Go ahead and tell us then, dad," Lyra said.
"Yeah, we're all ears," Gary Testaburger said.
"Well as you kids may be aware, we haven't exactly given you all the best birthday this past year for one reason or another," Stan said, "But I figured that since I hit it big with the lottery, and the dog days of summer are coming up, to make up for lackluster birthdays we are all going on a vacation!"
This news took the kids and grandparents by surprise.
"Vacation!?" Helen said excitedly.
"Wait, you mean like, all of us going on vacation together?" Paul asked.
"That's right, Paul," Stan said, "In a few weeks, everyone in this room will embark on the adventure of a lifetime!"
These words got the grandparents and especially the kids even more excited.
"Now, would anybody like to take a guess as to where we're going?" Stan asked.
"Oh, me! Me, me, me! Pick me, son, please pick me!" Rand said waving his arm in the air feeling like a little kid again.
"Randy, I think Stan was referring to the children when he asked that," Sharon said lower her husband's arm.
"Lyra, would you like to guess first?" Stan asked his daughter.
"Hmm…I know, we're going to Disney World!" Lyra exclaimed.
"Nope, anyone else? How about you Felix?" Stan asked.
"Los Angeles!" Felix said.
"Try again." Stan said.
"Japan!" Junior shouted, "We're going to Japan, final answer."
"Nope, Junior, it's not Japan," Stan said.
Soon, all of the kids began to guess.
"Hawaii!" Carrie said.
"New York City!" Sid said.
"Paris!" Chelsea said.
"Rome!" Tommy said.
"Australia!" Mimi said.
"Keep guessing kids," Stan said.
All of the kids started to say random locations until they found the right one. Some of the locations the kids mentioned didn't even make any sense.
"London…Niagara Falls…Hyrule…Germany…China…Boston…Wakanda…Madrid…Toronto…Ireland…The Emerald City…Egypt…Rio de Janiero…New Jersey…The Mushroom Kingdom!
"Okay who said New Jersey?!" Clyde asked after hearing someone mention said state.
"Alright everyone, that's enough guessing!" Stan said as he prepared to announce the vacation destination, "Ladies and gentleman, I'm proud to announce that we're all going to the one…the only…the majestic…the palatial…"
"Just get on with it," Valerie Testaburger said.
"Okay," Stan said, "We are going to Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas!"
The children all shouted and cheered from hearing the news.
"The Bahamas!" Tori exclaimed.
"Home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world!" Odette chimed in
"Aw, yeah, baby!" Sid shouted.
"Lyra, you have the coolest dad ever!" Lindsay shouted as she hugged Lyra tightly.
"Uncle Stan, this is so cool, when are going?!" Junior said excitedly.
"I was thinking we leave early on Sunday the 16th of August, have fun in the Bahamas for that whole week, and then head back to South Park on Monday the 24th.
"One whole week of sun, surf, sand, and sexy ladies!" Edgar said.
"Aw yeah! Bring on the women!" Larry chimed in.
"Larry you're nine years old don't talk like that!" Lola scolded.
"The 16th of August, man I can't wait that long!" Chelsea said, "The anticipation just might kill me!"
"This calls for a celebration toast," Gerald said as he, Sheila, Ike, Stan, and Bebe left the living room and returned with alcoholic beverages for the adults and some sodas and lemonades for the kids. The five passed them around and Stan prepared the toast.
"Here's to Matthew's first birthday, may he have many more, to Kyle and Wendy, may they rest in peace, and to all of us, may we stay in good health, maintain healthy relationships, and have one hell of a time in the Bahamas!" Stan said.
"Here, here!" Bebe said.
"Cheers!" Jeffrey said
Everybody raised the beverages and took a nice, hearty swig from them. Little did they know, however, that Jacques heard every word of Stan's announcement.
"Tres bien," Jacques said, "August 16th, that is when I shall woo mon belle. Watch out Stanley, your fun time is going to turn into your done time!"
Jacques cackled as he slinked away from the window and ran off to parts unknown to prepare his next plan in wooing Bebe.
As for our 48 heroes, they continued to celebrate Matthew's first birthday well into the night, and they returned home when the stars and the moon rose in the sky, thoughts of a magnificent, tropical vacation in the Bahamas running through their heads.
