Another upload! Man I'm getting real consistent now! Though I fear this consistency is going to come to an end due to other duties I'll have to attend now. Let's hope for the best! Until then!

This one is short compared to the others but I didn't have much material to write in this one so spare me please XD

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon.

Trials!

'Mom! Wake up Mom! We need you!'

The blonde's eyes fluttered. She shifted her head only to whimper in discomfort. She could feel the shuffling of feet around her and some commands her disoriented brain couldn't comprehend, and darkness swallowed her again.

She didn't know how much time passed nor did she know what surroundings she was in, all her brain tried to convince her was to let the sweet void of death swallow her.

Cynthia was content with that. All that stress, all that violence, all of that misery that came along with being a Pokémon trainer… it was too much. Maybe it was time to accept that and settle down into Pallet Town or Viridian with a job. She knew the mayor of Celadon could pull in some favors for her.

With everything that had occurred so far, from nearly dying in her first meeting with Luna, to the attack in Pewter Gym, to the Hidden Village, and then meeting Damien twice.

Damien! That bloody son of a bitch! He had hurt her team very badly! She had to check up on them as well!

Her body rejected any and all commands she gave, lying on the soft surface (maybe a mattress) and refusing to so much as twitch. It was as if it didn't want to function.

"Riolu…" She whispered, throat hoarse from no usage.

'Mom get up!' Came a yell. Cynthia's eyes snapped open and her body was forced to function.

"Rio- Ah!" Cynthia jerked awake, or tried to. Halfway through she felt immense pain flare up and fell back down. She clenched her eyes shut in pain, tears flowing out.

"Easy," Cynthia could hear the nurse tell her. "Here, drink this." She grabbed Cynthia by the back of her neck and gently lifted her, raising a cup to her lips. Cynthia opened her eyes, letting the liquid trickle down.

It was bitter, Cynthia found out. It was most probably a mixture of herbs and water judging by the taste. If it were a pharmaceutical medicine, the intake would've been intravenous.

"Ah…" Cynthia mumbled, feeling the pain lessen. "Where am I?" She mumbled as the nurse laid her back down on the bed. Now that the pain was lessened, Cynthia could properly focus on her surroundings.

"Fuchsia City," The nurse, a pale young woman with purplish hair tied by a yellow band, dressed in a black ninja suit with some pink bracers on her legs and arms, replied. "You're currently in the Fuchsia Gym."

"Huh?" Now that Cynthia could focus, she realized that indeed her surroundings were of a gym and not of a hospital. "How did I-"

"Your Luxio," She replied. "He got here just in time." Cynthia remembered her last command to Luxio and nodded in understanding.

"Thank you for saving me," Cynthia said, pushing herself into a sitting position. "My-"

"At the Pokémon Center." She answered in advance. "They were all injured very badly though. Who attacked you?" She walked over to our blonde.

"H-he was…" Cynthia remembered the last condition of Damien and decided it would be best not to mention him. "A poacher." She lied. The nurse looked at her knowingly, not buying the excuse but letting it slide.

"My name is Janine, daughter of Elite Four Koga and Gym Leader of Fuchsia." Janine bowed. "You're Cynthia Carolina, am I right?"

"How do you know-" She was once again interrupted.

"You'll find out soon enough," Janine replied. "I don't just treat anyone. Consider yourself lucky."

"Then why did you?" Cynthia couldn't help herself but ask. Something wasn't adding up.

"Cuz you're cute, and I like cute girls." Janine replied taking Cynthia by surprise. "Joking, a friend of mine asked me to."

"Oh," Cynthia stomached that. Who was in Fuchsia now? Paul? The blonde doubted Paul to be friends with anyone, let alone a ninja. Who else could-

"Let's go meet her," Janine offered a hand. Cynthia looked at her warily before accepting it. "Easy," Cynthia shifted her feet with some effort, placing them on solid ground.

As soon as she tried to get up, dizziness hit her and she fell face first. Or she would have, had Janine not caught her. "Thank you," Cynthia told Janine as the Gym Leader placed her back on the bed gently.

"Tell me, what assaults do you remember the 'poacher' to have done on you?" Janine asked curiously. Cynthia, who was observing the dark ninja like gown she was dressed in, frowned at the question.

"I don't remember exactly…" Cynthia mumbled. "Why?" She asked.

"Poachers normally steal your Pokémon and dispose of you quickly. This poacher seemed to have a personal grudge with you, given how much harm he did to you and your Pokémon." Janine commented. "At most, poachers sexually abuse their prey and kill them, not hurt them in millions of ways."

"I… I had run into this poacher before too." Cynthia admitted. "I had him arrested but he somehow broke out and came after me. He had agenda, to break me. I guess he almost succeeded,"

"…do you know how much he hurt you?" Janine asked cautiously. Cynthia shook her head. "Cynthia, this is going to be very, very hard on you, but…" Janine looked down.

"Janine…" Cynthia felt her heart leap out of her heart at the tone she was using. "What is it?" Janine looked up, an apologetic look on her face.

"I-" Janine took a deep breathe. "There are deep cuts on your back. And swelling in your left arm suggests he injected some virus into you which damaged your immune system greatly. There will be scars on your back and you'll be more prone to seasonal diseases like flu, fever the sorts."

"And…?" Cynthia asked fearing the worst.

"He sexually assaulted you." Janine replied bleakly. "While you were unconscious, he…" Cynthia's face was even more pale than usual. Tears escaped her eyes, sliding down her cheeks nonstop. "I'm sorry," Janine hung her head down.

"…what else did he do?" Cynthia asked after a few moments. Janine got up and walked over to her, grabbing the collar of her gown and shifting it. Cynthia's upper chest was exposed where burns were evident.

"Cigarette burns," Janine stated. "That's all. Your poacher planned a lot more but he didn't succeed."

"I- I…" Cynthia took a deep breath. "I need some time alone please," Janine nodded.

"I'll return sometime later with dinner. Take your time," Janine left the room and walked out of the room leaving Cynthia alone. The blonde decided to cry her eyes out at everything that had happened.

"Dinner?" Cynthia frowned after a little while. She spotted her pokedex (was Janine reading her bio data?!) and picked it. "It's past midnight…" Cynthia realized, setting the pokedex down.

She spotted a makeshift bed a little away from hers. "That must be Janine's." She took a deep breathe. Wiping her face, and flinching as she accidently pressed on the swelling, Cynthia did her best to ignore her anxious stomach.

"Done?" Janine asked, reappearing with a bowl in hand. "What has happened has happened you can do nothing to change it." She preached, setting the bowl in her hands.

"Easy for you to say Janine," Cynthia remarked, feeling irritated at the nonchalant attitude she exhibited.

"True," Janine agreed, sitting on the chair beside her bed. "I hope that poacher rots in hell though."

"Oh he will," Cynthia snarled, clutching the bowl tightly. "I-" Cynthia felt tears leak outside of her eyes again and took a deep breath. Janine didn't comment, letting her handle it on her own. "I-I'm sorry." Cynthia wheezed.

Janine took the bowl from her and dipped the spoon in. "Eat up," She suggested, offering the spoon to the blonde. Cynthia shook her head.

"I don't have an appetite right now," Cynthia told her. "I'm sorry," Janine settled the bowl down and grabbed her by the cheek.

"I won't repeat myself twice," Janine warned. "Open your mouth." Cynthia wanted to struggle but, knowing Janine could easily overpower her, decided to comply.

'Just like with Damien huh,' She thought internally. Janine fed her the entirety of the bowl, was that soup, and settled the bowl down.

"You're lucky to be alive," Janine remarked. "You're lucky you reached the gym first and not the Pokémon Center. This virus can only be treated by my family."

"Thank you," Cynthia said humbly, coughing. "Luck finally decided to favor me…" She remarked.

"On your back," Janine told her. Cynthia blinked. "I need to apply this paste on your back on the cuts." She picked up a bowl of cyan blue paste and showed it to her.

"How will you reach there though?" Cynthia asked as she slowly laid down. Janine grabbed the belt on her gown and pulled it, loosening the gown completely. "H-hey!"

Janine grabbed Cynthia and flipped her on her back, pulling the gown aside and exposing her back. "If I wanted to do something to you, I would've done it a long time ago." Janine told her, dipping two of her fingers in the bowl and picking up some paste.

"Valid point," Cynthia hissed as the chill cold paste was applied on her cuts. Janine gently applied the paste. "How long do I have to stay on my back?"

"Just go to sleep," Janine remarked. "It'll take time for the paste to take effect."

"What if I roll over?" The blonde asked naïvely.

"I won't let you, now relax and go to sleep." Janine told her, running her other hand into her blonde hair and massaging her scalp.

"Janine," Cynthia mumbled after a few moments. "Can I ask something?"

"Break a leg," Janine muttered.

"Why are you helping me so much?" She asked. There was a pause.

"Because of a friend," Janine replied finally.

"And?" Cynthia asked, feeling sleep overtake her. Janine took a few moments before replying but she had fallen into a deep sleep by then.

Next morning…

"Wake up sleeping beauty," Cynthia gasped as sunlight hit her on her face. "Get up," Janine urged.

"Yeah, yeah." Cynthia forced herself into a sitting position, feeling her entire body ache. "What the…" Cynthia cursed.

"The virus won't let you go so soon," Janine told her, adjusting her gown and tying it tightly. "All of this is its symptoms." Cynthia felt nausea hit her.

"Is wanting to vomit a-" Cynthia didn't have time to complete the sentence as her stomach hurled up whatever she had eaten at night. Janine, however, was ready and handed her a bucket, letting her hurl into it.

"Easy," Janine grabbed her hair and held them back. Cynthia hurled up, tears streaming down due to the burning sensation of her throat. She finished vomiting and gasped for breath.

"Is wanting to vomit a symptom?" Cynthia finally asked. Janine nodded. "Oh Arceus," Cynthia called, setting the bucket down.

"You're from Sinnoh na?" Janine asked for confirmation. The blonde nodded. "I figured as much," Cynthia wiped her tears off. "C'mon, let's get you cleaned up."

"Okay," Cynthia said. Janine threw her arm over her shoulder and pulled her up, letting the blonde rest her weight on her. "You must have a very good image of mine huh," Cynthia remarked.

"Who cares," Janine replied. "About an image, I mean." Cynthia nodded. That made sense.

"When will we meet this friend of yours?" Cynthia asked.

"As soon as you get cleaned up." Janine replied. "Your Pokémon are impatient to meet you too." Cynthia remembered the call Riolu had given her.

"That I know," Cynthia mumbled. "How are-"

"Get cleaned up and find out yourself," Janine told her. Cynthia nodded, feeling anxious already.

She just hoped Damien hadn't permanently crippled them or something.

"Hey guys!" Cynthia greeted as her entire team was released. They all swarmed up to the blonde, hugging her tightly. Cynthia hugged them back as much as she could, relishing in the moment.

The blonde and her entire team stood there like this for a few moments, happiness and relief flooding their entire system. Janine spectated from the side, a small smile on her face.

After what seemed like hours, the group hug was finally broken. Cynthia looked at them, eyes watery. "H-how are you guys?" She asked gazing over their bodies. Thankfully, most of the damage Damien had given them had healed except a few scars, painful reminders of what they had to endure.

'W-we t-thought you l-left u-us!' Riolu cried out, hugging her tightly and burying his face into her chest.

"I won't, ever." Cynthia assured him, rubbing his back soothingly. "I promise," Cynthia looked at the rest of her team. "We're back together, right?"

They all cheered happily. Cynthia sat down on the grass properly, letting them surround her.

Hours passed by until finally Janine intervened. "C'mon," She told her. "You haven't fully recovered yet and frankly they haven't either." Cynthia gave her team an apologetic look.

"I'll play with you guys later, don't worry." Cynthia told them. "We're all going to be okay now. We're together," Cynthia told them. They all agreed. "Besides, you can always come to visit me." She looked at Janine. "They can, right?"

"I don't see why not," Janine shrugged. "Now let's go." Cynthia nodded and returned her team to their respective pokéballs. Janine took them and quickly headed inside the Pokémon center to hand them to Nurse Joy.

Cynthia got up, managing to stand on her own two feet. 'At the very least, they're fine.' Cynthia breathed out a thank you to Arceus. She stumbled over to a bench and sat down on it, feeling her head ache.

"Headache?" Janine returned just in time to see her clenching her head. Cynthia nodded. The Gym Leader sighed and helped her up. "I'll get you something back at the gym,"

"Wouldn't a real doctor medicate me better?" Cynthia asked. "No offense," She quickly added.

"No one except my family can treat this virus." The purple haired Gym Leader replied. "I don't know how your poacher got his hands on the virus, but it's- nothing." Janine abruptly ended.

"You can share… I won't snitch." Cynthia mumbled. Janine didn't reply. "Ignoring me now, nice."

"Look," Janine began in an irritated tone. "Just get healed up and back into form. That's all."

"Guess that makes the two of us," Cynthia uttered back. The rest of the distance was traversed in an awkward silence.

Next day…

"Cynthia?" The blonde blinked. She recognized that voice! Was that…

"Daisy?" Cynthia gasped pulling herself into a sitting position. A slim young girl with fair skin and long blonde hair held back with a green headband entered the room. She dawned a lab coat over a green blouse and black pants.

"Oh my God you look so sick!" Daisy rushed over, pulling her into a careful hugs. Cynthia hugged her back, grateful to see a familiar face. "What happened?" Daisy asked in concern.

"Well…" Cynthia sighed. "Want the full version?" Cynthia had absolutely no qualms sharing the truth with Daisy. She was like the older sister of hers which she never had. Daisy nodded. "Just don't… tell anyone please?"

"Pinky promise," Daisy Oak held up her pinky. Yes, this was Daisy Oak, Gary Oak's older sister and the granddaughter of the reputed Professor Samuel Oak. An amazing researcher, great friend to the Pallet Crew, and a terrible sister to Gary (according to him at least).

"Well…" Cynthia recalled everything from the very moment she had met Damien. From seeing him abuse Gible, to running out in the rain to save the dragon, to being falsely accused, to bringing Damien to justice.

"Whoa," Daisy was impressed. "While I should scold you for being so reckless, whom I will, you're really brave Cynth." Cynthia nodded shyly. "Not many can risk their lives for an unknown Pokémon."

"I wouldn't congratulate myself so soon…" Cynthia mumbled. "Damien managed to escape the police custody somehow, and decided to get back at me. On the way, he burned a Pokémon Center, sexually assaulted one, murdered two trainers, murdered the Nurse Joy there, tortured Eevee heavily, and paid the Biker Gang to wear me and my team out." Cynthia could completely understand the disgusted face Daisy had.

"Then, he ambushed me, choked me into unconscious, and decided to torture me and my team." Daisy's eyes widened. "We managed to escape after completely roasting him and killing him, but by the skin of our teeth."

Daisy was quiet for a few moments before leaping forward and hugging the blonde tightly. "We're healing now." Cynthia told Daisy. "I-I was afraid D-Damien had-"

"Shush, you're all right." Daisy whispered. "You're so brave Cynthia," Daisy praised, brushing some stray golden locks off her face.

"My team had to suffer because of me," Cynthia pointed out.

"No, idiot." Daisy resisted the urge to whack the blonde on the back of her head. "You're not a burden to your team. They chose to stick by you even after everything. You did everything just to save Gible from a cruel fate. Remember that,"

"That I did," Cynthia smiled. "Daisy, don't tell anyone about it though. Not even Professor Oak, okay?"

"I won't." Daisy lifted up her pinky finger. "Pinky promise, remember?" Cynthia couldn't help the smile that adorned her face. "There's the beautiful smile I want!" She laughed.

"Want to know more-" Cynthia was interrupted.

"Amazing story, 10/10 for the plot." Janine entered the room, setting down a bowl of soup and the same cyan paste from before.

"H-how long have you been there?!" Cynthia jumped.

"Long enough," Janine winked. "For the record, I knew you were lying. I just wanted to catch you red handed." Cynthia exhaled dejectedly. "Daisy, I need to tend to your friend now. Mind excusing us?"

"Yeah, sure." Daisy said and got up from the foot of the bed. "I'll drop by later." She told Cynthia. "I need to get back to the Safari Zone too." She added apologetically.

"It's no problem," Cynthia smiled. "I understand." Daisy hugged her goodbye and left, leaving the rookie and Gym Leader alone. "So," Cynthia began as Janine handed her the soup bowl. "No hard feelings?"

"Why would there be?" Janine questioned. "Obviously you wouldn't share such details with a stranger. I knew you were lying from the start."

"You're pretty clever," Cynthia mumbled.

"Perks of being a ninja," Janine winked. "Now eat up. This paste has to be applied too." Cynthia did as she asked.

Xxx

A few days later…

"Janine, if you don't mind me asking," Cynthia began, chewing on her bite. Her condition was getting better due to the care Janine took of her. Daisy visited ever so often to keep her company but Cynthia was warming up to the Gym Leader too.

"Break a leg," Janine muttered. Cynthia let out a chuckle at that. Janine loved to use that praise.

"Why can only your family cure the virus?" She asked. "Why not the doctors as well?" Janine, who had been leaning against the wall, sighed.

"I…" She paused. "Is it really that important for you to know?" She asked.

"Janine, you've been taking care of me for so long. I can see the guilt glinting in your eyes even if you try to hide it." Cynthia mentioned.

"What guilt?" Janine asked.

"Janine, I've been with you for the past few days. I can feel your guilt whenever I feel sick and the extra care you take while treating me. You're way too familiar with this virus-"

"My family invented it!" Janine interrupted. "They invented it, they used it to take hundreds of lives, and they never shared the cure to anyone except their own family!"

"W-why?" Cynthia asked.

"It's a long time ago," Janine sighed. "During the early era of the League. The Kingdom of Fuchsia resisted the League for a long period of time. The League couldn't take it by force since Fuchsia could just drop the virus into a city or somewhere populated and kills thousands of civilians. For so long, it helped Fuchsia retain its independence."

"But the League hit one of its lows, and the King of Fuchsia, my ancestor, decided to overthrow the League. He sent his ninjas, infected by the virus, to mingle with the population of Saffron, Celadon, even Cerulean. The League realized the move but far too late. It was devastated."

"My ancestor made his move and dealt major defeats to the League, taking control of the Seafoam and Cinnabar Islands. They purged the lands of the native inhabitants by using the virus." Janine's eyes were filled with tears. "Shocked by the brutality, Johto, under the League but retaining most of its powers, decided to intervene."

"Fuchsia used its virus again shamelessly, crippling Johto as well. But it finally fell and my ancestor was beheaded for his war crimes. The virus's formula was destroyed alongside the remaining viruses. The son of the Murderer Ninja did his best to help the League regain its loss, and ever since we have been serving the League, trying to make up for the sins of our ancestors."

"That's why, when Daisy brought you over to me, and I identified you with the virus, I knew it is my duty to save you." Janine continued passionately. "I couldn't let you be another number in the casualties of my ancestors."

"My death would've never been your fault," Cynthia mumbled.

"It would've," Janine told the blonde. "I swore never to let anyone be the victim of that cursed virus ever again, and that includes you." Cynthia was taken aback.

"You don't have to be so strong, you know," Cynthia began softly as Janine faced away from her. "Hey, you've seen me at my lowest. Only fair if I can help you."

"…just get well, that'll be enough for me." Janine told her and left the room, leaving the blonde alone.

'Food for the thought…' Cynthia thought, trying to imagine what it would've felt back then. To fight in such wars and all the deaths, misery it would've caused. 'Good thing I'm not alive during such a time…' She shuddered.

Xxx

"You sure are having one hell of a journey," Daisy chuckled as Cynthia finished telling her about saving the Mayor's daughter in Celadon. "Though you are very reckless!" She scolded.

"Blame Ash for that…" Cynthia mumbled. "It's the effect of his friendship."

"How is he?" Daisy asked. "I haven't talked to him in a long time. I hope he's fine." Cynthia scoffed.

"Knowing him, he's anything but fine." Daisy gave her a curious look. "Last time I talked to him, he was suffering from aftershocks of stopping a Spiritomb in Lavender Town."

"A Spiritomb?" Daisy asked frowning. "How was he? I hope he's fine." Daisy continued worriedly.

"Yeah, he was okay. Leaf is with him." Cynthia added. "Leaf… I think she's still suffering." Daisy was saddened by that.

"Being a Pokémon Trainer is not at all easy," She remarked. "I just hope you guys make it out alright."

"That's why Ash and I had left Pallet Town together." Cynthia pointed out. "To cover each other's backs. But that didn't work out well." She sighed. "At least Leaf and Ash can do that."

"I'm worried about Gary," Daisy added suddenly. "He's alone, he's egoistic, and I fear he might bite into more than he can chew." Cynthia pursed her lips.

"I actually traveled with him before reaching Saffron." Cynthia told her. "He has a strong team which has only gotten stronger since then." Daisy looked hopeful at that.

"How was he?" She asked. Cynthia reflected back to their meeting and interaction.

"He was great actually." Cynthia recalled. "He defeated me in a Pokémon Battle, he looked out for me when I was reeling from the Hidden Village incident, and he was actually fun to hang out with."

"Cynthia Carolina praising Gary Oak?" Daisy feigned surprise. "The world must be ending!"

"Shut up," Cynthia grumbled making her chuckle. "He was heading for Vermillion the last time I met him. His next moves are unknown though."

"He might've challenged Sabrina next who knows," Daisy shrugged.

"Did you talk to him?" Cynthia asked. Daisy shook her head. "You haven't talked to him at all?"

"I have been so caught up with my research here and the Fossil Restoration Program at the Grampa Canyon that I haven't been able to really contact him." Daisy explained. "I have talked to Professor Oak though but Gary, being a trainer, has been out of reach."

"Now wonder he dislikes family reunions so much," Cynthia mumbled. "No offense," She quickly added.

"None taken," Daisy sighed twirling a strand of hair around her finger. "I get your point. After Mom and Dad died, I'm the only family he has except Professor Oak, who is even more busy than me tending to the Ranch and research and all," She made an exaggerating gesture with her hands. "And with me being so caught up in myself, he's right to… hate me."

"Wait, hold up." Cynthia intervened. "He doesn't hate you Daisy!" She jumped in.

"Who know Cynthia?" Daisy mumbled. "He's very angry. Under all that fake bravado, egoistic persona, and uncaring attitude is a very hurt and lonely boy."

"Aren't we all?" Cynthia commented. "I doubt Ash or Leaf are really fine at the moment either. Every such incident affects us and alters us."

"You guys won't pass a psyche evaluation with amazing score that's for sure." Daisy joked. "Good thing I became a Researcher. It's safer comparatively."

"Maybe it's not too late to switch professions…" Cynthia mumbled too low for Daisy to catch.

"I need to get back now," Daisy uttered apologetically. "We're making an expedition to the Grampa Canyon. The Fossil Restoration Program is a hotspot for researchers and-"

"Its fine Daisy, go." Cynthia smiled. "Knock yourself out or as Janine would say, break a leg." The two shared a laugh at that. "How did you become friends with Janine though?"

"I'll tell you about her later." Daisy winked, getting up and grabbing her bag. "Get well fast, I'll get you a tour of the Safari Zone."

"I'll hold onto that." Cynthia smiled. "See ya Daisy," Daisy winked and walked out of the room. 'I still need to contact Ash, Mom…' She sighed, putting that on the backburner for now.

If they saw her condition at the present, they'll most probably scold her very bad. Cynthia couldn't help the smile at that. They most probably would.

'Wonder what Ash is doing right now though…' The last time she talked to him, he was on route to Saffron. She just hoped that dumb idiot was safe and healthy.

Though knowing him, she could only hope so.

Meanwhile in an unknown location…

"Pathetic," A man uttered. "These are your skilled agents?!" He roared at a few men in black, a red 'R' on their chest. "They couldn't assist my poor boy Damien to handle a girl?!"

"We were asked to help Damien escape. We gave him the vial of the virus, we gave him means to execute his plan, we gave him capital to utilize. His failure is all on him," A man with turquoise hair replied calmly.

"Don't you dare blame him!" The man shouted back. "It's your fault! It's your subordinate's fault Proton! Don't-"

"Shouting will get you nowhere Mr. Daisuke," Proton interrupted him. "Now, we have detected the girl in Fuchsia City. She's weak and vulnerable."

"It's no use now!" Daisuke yelled. "My poor boy! He's in that condition not because of the girl, but because of your stupidities!" Proton scowled in anger.

"We can end your poor boy's life right now," Proton uttered in a low voice. "I can make you disappear right now, no one will find a trace of you. Whatever your boy did to that girl, we can do a million times worse. Remember that."

"You don't scare me…" Daisuke growled.

"But you should," Proton snarled. "Who doesn't fear… death?" He whispered, brandishing a pistol.

"Who'll fund your subunit then Proton?" Daisuke grinned. "You depend on my funds don't you dare forget."

"…what do you want us to do now?" Proton relented.

"Leave the girl alone. My little boy will deal with her himself," Daisuke replied. "I need complete information on her. Every little detail. When the moment is right, we'll strike."

"Understood," Proton nodded.

"And get Damien back to his feet." Daisuke told him. "Heal him up, I don't care how!" He roared in anger. "Get it Proton?" He hissed closing up to him.

"Yes," Proton nodded.

"Good." Daisuke grinned evilly. "Cynthia Carolina, enjoy your last days…"

A dialogue heavy chapter but one that had to be done. So, we finally get to see where Cynthia had gotten and got more insight on what Damien had inflicted on her.

Next chapter will focus on both of our protagonists and the repercussions they had to face, Ash due to Sabrina and Cynthia due to Damien. I'll try to roll out another chapter within January but with exams approaching, no promises. Until then!
