It's been a while since I uploaded anything from OOT.
Have something scary ;).
Seriously, this part of the game scared the sh*t out of me as a kid...
And to answer the comments from the previous chapter:
(a big thank you to those very few people who show interest in my collection.
You guys are the only reason why I still post my Zelda stories^^)

Thank you very much, I am very happy to read that you liked my trilogy :)
Link and Midna share a wonderful friendship at the end of the game (or maybe even more than that? Who knows? ;))
That friendship is even stronger in the Mangas. If you haven't read them, then you should do it. I can highly recommend them :D
PokemonTrainer12
You are most welcome :D
Over here in Germany the situation gets a bit better now.
Just remember: No pandemic lasts forever ;)
We had to deal with a few pandemics in these last 15 years.
All of them were gone within 6 months and there was no vaccine or anything like that.
We just have to be patient and keep our distance to each other.
Haha, yeah Link and Midna are dorks if they want to be XD.
And I am so not sorry for the "Excuuuuuse me, princess". I just had to XD

Holy Moly!
Bin dann doch eher offen für was Lustiges^^.
Hands of death
Link had had to go through a lot on his journey through Hyrule, had to face difficult trials and defeat cruel monsters. The events in the water temple in particular had left their mark on his psyche. Even if he tried not to show any sign of it, his little fairy Navi could look behind the facade he was trying to maintain: the facade of an intrepid hero, who feared nothing and nobody, who was always brave and raised his sword against everything and everyone who threatened the peace of this once wonderful kingdom. But it wasn't like that. Oh no. Link was scared, even if he didn't like to admit it. But she could see it as much as Sheik could see it whenever he met the hero.
But now, as she and Link moved through the dark corridors of the well in Kakariko, she could clearly see and feel the fear in Link. He had traveled back in time and was the little ten-year-old boy from back then. He bravely held the Kokiri sword in his hand, but she could see his young body trembling with fear and she could hear his teeth chattering. But she couldn't blame him for his fear, because she too felt anything but comfortable down here in the darkness of this eerie well.
Especially when she thought about the cruel monsters lurking in the darkness…
There were undead down there, trying to tear the flesh off Link's bones. There were huge hands without an associated body that surprised the boy out of the dark and wanted to reach for him. More than once, one of these monsters had caught him and grabbed him by his green tunic and lifted him up, but before it could drag the boy into the darkness, Link had freed himself with a sword blow and ran away, screaming in panic. And he had learned one more thing about this well: there were many traps down there in the form of invisible pits through which he had fallen and was now running around on the lower floor of the well.
And now he was so scared that he hardly dared to take a step forward. But he had to, because they hadn't come here for no reason. Sheik had given them the tip that there was an item down there that Link needed to get into the Shadow Temple.
Shadow Temple...
The words alone made the little fairy shudder and when she looked at Link, she doubted that the boy would ever enter this temple. He was already scared to death here and nobody, really nobody, could blame him for that. But if it was so bad here, Navi didn't even want to know how bad this situation would get in the Shadow Temple. Especially since there were many uncanny rumors about this temple, that were told not only in Kakariko, but also in other places in Hyrule. Whatever must have happened in this temple, it seemed so cruel that hardly anyone dared speaking about it today, much less dared to get too close to this temple. But Navi knew that she and Link had to enter this temple, because there was also a sage to save and not only that, because they had both seen how the seal had been broken, which had been holding the demon that had been banned into this temple for a long time. If Link wanted it or not, but he, as the bearer of the master sword and chosen hero, was the only one who could enter this temple and break the curse once and for all. But since the thing with the Water Temple, the poor boy was scared of his own shadow and Navi had the bad feeling that this fear would increase in the Shadow Temple...
"Calm down," she whispered softly, but startled him so much by her sudden voice, that his whole body flinched violently and he whirled around and held his sword protectively in front of him.
"Calm down, Link. It's just me."
And in fact he calmed down a little when he saw the familiar radiance of his fairy, who gave him her warm light even in the darkest places. He lowered the sword, but still held it so tightly that his knuckles were white and if the little fairy looked closely, she could see the cold sweat dripping from his forehead, even though there was a cold down here, like she hadn't felt it in a long time.
"Sorry, Navi. But I don't like this place. I want to get out of here."
"Shhhh, I know Link, I know. I don't like this place either, but you heard what Sheik told us. Only here can we find what we need to get into the Shadow Temple. What did he call it again?"
"The lens of truth," Link answered her question and he shuddered again as the undead moan reached his ears from somewhere.
He hated this place!
And he hated Sheik for sending him to such a cruel place...and then in the shape of the child he had been before he had left Kokiri forest!
If he met Sheik next time, he would have a serious word with him!
At least if he survived this...
If he thought about it like that...why didn't Sheik go to this terrible place himself when he seemed to know everything about it?
And why didn't he take Link's master sword and the associated burden straight away and save this kingdom single-handedly?
Link was sure that Sheik wouldn't have any problems with this task...
"Hey! Link! Are you listening to me at all?"
His fairy's voice brought him back to reality and he shook his head slightly to banish these thoughts and instead he tried to focus on the here and now again.
"Sorry, Navi. I was distracted. What did you say?"
"I said that I think I know where we can find the lens of truth."
"So? And where exactly would that be? We have already searched everything here and found nothing but death!"
"I know, but I think I now know where it could be. Do you remember the creepy stone face? You know: this statue that was set into the wall and where you played the lullaby of the royal family."
"Yes, I remember it. But what is that supposed to mean?"
"After you played the song, the water went back. Do you remember the first room, right at the entrance to the well? There was so much water there. I am sure that it also went away. We haven't checked before. Let's try it there. I mean...what do we have to lose?"
"Our lives maybe?"
"I know you're scared, but you don't have to. I will take care of you and lead you through the darkness."
She flew very close to him and nestled against his cheek, which even put a small smile onto his lips and briefly he closed his eyes, as he enjoyed the slight warmth that her small body produced on his skin.
"We got over it soon. Not long now and we can leave this place and we will never come back here again. I promise."
Link only nodded his head silently and if it had been up to him, he could have stood there forever, but he wanted to leave this horrible place as quickly as possible and so he broke away from the fairy, shouldered his sword and shield and nodded to her.
"Then let's find a way back up and finally finish this task!"
Since the two friends had stayed in the "basement", it took a while for Link to find a way back to the upper floor of the well. And he had found not only that, but even more undead monsters that had been waiting for him in the dark. He had narrowly escaped them and was sure that the shattering scream of these monsters would follow him into his nightmares.
Together with Navi's help, he managed to find the way back to the well's entrance and in fact a lot had happened there, because the water had disappeared from the places Navi had previously told him about and he actually saw a small opening in the dark wall, through which he would just fit. But when he stood in front of the opening, he hesitated, because he didn't know what to expect on the other side. But he also knew that he had to go through there, that he had to find the lens of truth in order to continue his journey and so he didn't think about it for too long, gathered all his remaining courage and squeezed himself through the narrow opening.
"You will pay for this, Sheik..." he grumbled under his breath; so quiet that not even Navi heard it, who had flown ahead and was looking at the next room.
"Here's just a big Skulltula, Link. Be careful."
Great, more giant spiders!
It was getting better and better...
But he was no longer scared of the Skulltulas. He had already met many of them and so it was easy for him to put an end to this Skulltula too. Navi had actually been right, because he could see an iron door across the room. He quickly ran to it and felt his heart pounding in his chest; this time full of anticipation, because something told him that behind this door he would find what he had been looking for on this arduous path through the darkness and it wouldn't be long before he finally saw daylight again.
But joy followed disillusionment and disillusionment followed by pure horror, because when Link had stepped through the door that closed behind him, he found himself in a room in which long, thin arms grew out of the ground. The arms ended in hands that had long, sharp claws on their fingers. The arms and hands looked as if they had never felt daylight and here and there they were spattered with blood. It was this sight that made Link panic and he turned around and wanted to open the iron door to leave the room as quickly as possible, but was horrified to find out that the door could no longer be opened. No matter what he did, how much he pushed his body against it, how much he worked with his weapons on it, it couldn't be opened. He was trapped. Trapped in a room, with a monster, with his hands sticking out of the ground, waiting for him to take the wrong step. Tears of fear rose in the boy's eyes and he didn't even hear Navi's words and how she tried to calm him down. It was as if he was trapped in a tunnel and at the end of that tunnel was a terrible monster who wanted to grab him and tear him to pieces. He had never felt such fear in his entire life before. Not even when he had to fight against his dark side. Now he would rather face Dark Link, than be locked up in this room, in which a bloodthirsty monster lurked, which had six arms at once! And to top it, these arms were strategically placed in the corners of the room and near the door so they could grab him anywhere. No matter where Link went, the monster would be there, waiting for him to take the wrong step and once it grabbed him, it would...
"Pull yourself together, Link!"
Suddenly Navi was right in front of his face, startling him so much that a sharp cry escaped his throat and ended his dark thoughts on the spot.
"I want to get out of here, Navi! DO SOMETHING!"
Yes, the panic had gained the upper hand over his young body and it hurt Navi to see the boy so scared. His eyes were wide with panic and tears covered his face, his body was shaking and he was already panting heavily, because his breathing was also accelerating.
"Even if you won't like it, but the only way to get out of here is to defeat this monster."
"WHAT?!"
"It was like that before. It won't be any different here. I know you're scared and I can really understand you, but there is no other way. You have to do it."
"But...but...I don't want to do that! This thing...did you take a look at it?! We have never encountered a monster like this. I don't even know where it starts and where it ends! Let alone where the rest of this thing is!"
"Calm down, Link."
"But I don't want to calm down! I want to get out of here! NOW!"
And Link threw his entire weight against the locked door, but it still couldn't be opened and the result of his action was that he literally bounced off the door and tumbled backwards, directly into one of the monster's hands, which immediately grabbed his right arm. Link screamed, as razor-sharp claws dug into his flesh and held him tightly. He felt the blood run down his arm, but he ignored it. The adrenaline rushing through his body made him hide every pain and the pure panic was reflected in his eyes, as he grabbed the hand that held him so tight. When his fingers closed around the arm that held him, he shivered, because the skin of this monster was ice cold, as if it was dead.
But he couldn't think about it for long, because behind him he suddenly heard the sound of a huge body that was shoveling out of the ground and when he managed to turn his head around a little, so that he could look over his shoulder, his heart almost stopped beating, when he saw the massive body that was slowly shuffling towards him. He couldn't see any legs, but a fat body that was slowly but surely moving towards him. The skin was as white as that of the arms and was also covered in red blood. It was most likely the blood of those who had tried to get to the treasure of the well and who had found their death here in this room. That would also explain the bones that were embedded in the walls here and there. But the most terrifying thing was the beast's head. When it was close enough, the head lowered and Link's heart skipped a beat at this horrible sight. A mouth, with huge teeth was the first thing he noticed and the monster seemed to grin at him. But the really scary thing about this beast was its eyes. Or at least what was left of them, because this monster didn't even have real eyes anymore. There were only dark caves where the eyes must have been and this was by far the most terrible thing Link had ever seen. More terrible than his shadow, more terrible than Ganondorf, even more terrible than any nightmare he had ever had. This monster embodied the pure evil and the pure fear and Link was so shocked by this sight that he could hardly move and his fairy had to watch with horror how her best friend was so taken by his fear that he was paralyzed.
"LINK!" she screamed, but her panicked voice barely got through him.
The boy only had eyes for this grotesque grinning monster that was moving towards him and it could perhaps be seconds before it reached him. Navi had to do something urgently if she didn't want her best friend to die. She remembered what some of the residents of Kakariko were saying about the well and she could swear that some of them had said something about a monster called "The dead hand" and the description perfectly matched this thing. If it was really that monster, Navi didn't want to find out why they called it that name.
She had to act and that quickly and therefore she gathered all her courage and flew towards the monster, which had now reached Link and was about to lower its head and open his mouth wide. But before it could eat the boy alive, Navi flew against the side of its head as hard as she could, which surprised the monster so much, that it let go of Link. The hand, that had held him before, released him and Link landed on his butt and seemed to slowly come out of his shock.
"Link! Take your sword! KILL IT!" Navi screamed and narrowly escaped the monster's huge teeth when it snapped at her. The sound of snapping teeth and Navi's fearful screams seemed to bring Link back to reality. Still with panic in his blue eyes, he tried to take possession of his body again, as he watched this monster chase after his little friend, but he bravely tried to keep his composure and concentrate on what he had come for. He wouldn't end up like all the others before him, because if he died, Hyrule would go down with him and that couldn't happen!
For Hyrule, for Zelda...he thought and he grabbed his sword and shield and rushed towards the dead hand, who was so busy chasing Navi that it couldn't see the boy coming. Only when Link thrust his sword blade into the monster's massive body did it respond with a loud roar, which made Link shudder, before turning its skull into his direction and growling at him darkly, but this time Link wasn't guided by his fear. He let himself be guided by his heroism, tore the blade from the bleeding body of the monster, only to ram it into the demon's throat, as it opened wide when it wanted to snap at his head. He felt the blade cut through flesh and bone, heard the disgusting sound of splintering bones and tearing tissue and then the beast's painful roar. Again one of the hands reached for him and claws dug into his side, where they cut through the fabric of his green tunic and flesh, but Link ignored the pain and rammed his blade as deep as he could into the throat of the dead hand which found its death under excruciating screams.
When Link pulled his blade from the monster's throat, it sagged and crashed to the floor and with the massive body, the individual arms fell to the ground, where they remained motionless. An eerie silence spread in the small, dark room, which was only broken by Link's gasping breath. His heart was pounding hard in his chest and the blood was rushing loudly in his ears and he couldn't believe what he had just done. He had killed this monster. He had managed to overcome his fear and save his life and that of his fairy. But his act didn't fill him with pride, but with disgust. So much blood was already on his hands and he didn't know how much it would be in the future. He was tired of all of this! He was tired of these monsters, tired of the endless fighting and he was tired of carrying the weight of the master sword on his shoulders...
His thoughts came to an abrupt end when he heard a cracking noise behind him and immediately he whirled around and held the sword ready as he expected another monster, but there was nothing but a big box that was now there and that must have fallen from the ceiling. Link didn't care where this box came from, since he could already imagine what was in it and he should be right, because when he opened the chest, he found what he had been looking for.
But the disillusionment spread quickly in his body when he took a strange looking lens out of the box that seemed to be of no use to him, because when he looked through it, he didn't see a single change and this alone fueled the fire of anger in his stomach and when he turned to Navi he could see that she was feeling no better than him.
"I think we should talk to Sheik."
Link gritted his teeth and gripped the weird lens with his fingers so much that his hand began to tremble and his knuckles turned white.
"Yes, Navi, we should really do that..."
And he would indeed do that.
Once he was back in time and an adult again, he would look for Sheik and speak a serious word to him.
Because that was long overdue...
