Days turned to weeks and they couldn't find the client. Vexen hadn't sold him anything aside two bottles of hard liquor. He gave her those drugs on his own accord. They looked through every crack, every hole, nothing. The blonde haired girl the boss named Alice….. didn't wake up.
Yuffie attempted to wake her… But she was in a deep sleep.
" The blood tests show that a drug known as GHB was administered. That with her Alcohol level…theres no telling how long she'll be under…."
"Youre saying she overdosed?"
"She didn't wake up wen I shot her up with Narcan. It wasn't heroine they injected in her. They rufied her bloodstream." Riku ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "That's not all…"
"What?"
"She had a cranial fracture on the bottom of her skull. I need to run more tests….but….if she has trauma impact….. I don't know what to tell you guys….….We'll leave her in the intensive care unit for the time being." She closed her chart and set it down. She took the girls hand and felt her cold hands fall limp.
"We haven't found a single lead…" Yuffie shook her head at Riku.
"Scum like him have a knack for disappearing."
"These aren't our policies." Axel tried assuring them, but things weren't looking so good.
"I let my colleague know about this. He's got more experience than I do. He's been helping me so far….but she'll be transferred under his care tomorrow."
"The boss isn't too happy with the external cost's." Riku slipped on his necktie and checked his watch. "Saix didn't miss the chance to tear into you, he said it never would have happened under his watch."
"Oh yeah? Big talk, considering he's the one with the highest turnover. You know he's shit."Axel pulled namine's hair behind her ears.
"They secured this room for the remainder of her admittance here. I have to get going, they need me on the floor. I'll be back later….Riku….what did I say about the blindfold? Not in the hospital." She pulled the blind of of his face and shoved it in her pocket. She made her way out closing the door behind her,
" Get some coffee. We'll be here a while." Riku gave Axel a plastic key he had hidden in his couldn't help but yawn. He I swept the white curtain back in place and made his way to the cafeteria.
He was half way down the hall when something blunt came hurling at his face.
"Watch Out!" A dainty voice screamed.
He winced at the metal contact against his eye.
"What-?!" It burned. He felt some one bump him, sending him stumbling against the wall.
"I got ya!" He felt his body being lifted by some unearthly sausage fingers. Axel tried to open his eyes. He couldn't.
"IT BURNS DAMN IT!" He tried to shove the muscle man away from him but this guy was high quality hefty. A girls panic voice was heard in the background.
"L-Let me go get ointme-Make sure he doesn't open his eyes!" He felt some one with unearthly strength drop him onto a bed. He tried to get up but meaty arms pressed a wet rag to his face.
He heard scuttling and running trailed off by silence. He stopped struggling when heard a very angry familiar voice crash into the room.
"What happened?!...Olette, why were you walking around with an open tray on instruments?"
"They just slipped, okay!"
"Out of all people you had to hit him?!" He was able to make out Yuffies furious voice.
"Yuffie whats going on?" He tried to open his eyes but all he saw was adistorted colored blurr.
"Open your eye pansy. I need to look….."
"What?!" Axel tried getting up, but Muscle Milk slammed held him down in place. "…Oh that's cute…real cute…. Fuck off ,Beef man." He struggled against his hold.
"Hercules, ease up on twizzler boy. Axel. Listen. Don't move ….try to open your eyes when I take the towel off." She lifted the towel and he opened his eyes. The air burned. "Gah!" She scrambled over the metal instruments .
"Damn that's deep."
'Deep?!"
"It's just a scratch on one eye….but the other one it's a bit deeper. You still see color right?"With out warning she pryed his eyes back open and forced the ointment into his eyes making him wince."Stop whining." She pressed against his eye lid.
" BITCH-" She pressed harder and taped it gauze against his pulled the blindfold from her pocket and tightened it against axels eyes.
"OKAY…Its okay…Don't take it off." Yuffie made him lean against the bed. "Olette…..you scratched his cornea…..." Yuffie shot darts at her intern. They mumbled between each other. Yuffie was notably angry.
"Olette…..Get out of here….…"
"But Yuffie I-"
"Whats going on?" Axel sat up and held the blindfold full of gauze in his hand. Olette cleared her throat and had a very soft tone to her voice.
"Olette…." Yuffie tapped her foot.
"P-Possibly…you'll need….a while to recover before you're able…..before you'll able to open your eyes…with out pain…depending on how dep the…damange is….I'm so…sorry…"
"I can't be out. I don't work a very conventional job, we don't take days off."
"I'll let Riku know what happened… Olette…..Go get Roxas's spare keys from the Dorm advisor, Have him call me." Olette nodded and scuttled out of the room. Yuffie closed the door as she left. Yuffie sighed heavily.
"Shes been messing up left and right…..Listen, I have an intern I'm close with…he hasn't been using his apartment or months . Stay in his room. Riku and you are welcome to use it for your needs. I'm already have enough trouble keeping the coma girl under wraps… now you too?"
"I'll figure it out, just give me the meds I'll do i-"
"Don't be stubborn. Partial blindness can be a side effect if its not treated properly. I don't want the organization going after one of my interns if that happens…"
"That's not what-"
" You're going to have blurred vision for a while, might as well rest up. It just makes sense. Your clubs pretty far from this hospital. I'm going to send Olette to change your bandages. Your corneas scratched to he' in Roxas's room until the time being."
"Roxas? I'm invading some kids dorm?"
"He's a sweet guy. He wont mind…Hercules….escort him to the Intern Dormitory."

Riku watched Her breathing for an hour or two, He felt his neck start to straining. He decided he'd give Axel a visit in the coffee shop, he gathered his things and before glancing back at her one more time.
*We don't even know who you really are…* Riku sighed and made his way to find Axel.
He ended up going to the cafe but Axel wasn't there. He looked around as he assituated himself in a corner table and pulled out his laptop. The only other person in the room was a younger looking teen in a wheel chair.
The boy was sitting at the table across from him. He kept lightly talking to himself and scribbling notes down onto blank sheets of paper. His voice was welcoming. He brushed it off and opened up a half completed spread sheet on excel. He was in charge of the expense report the hospital was billing them for. He tuned everything out and started working.
He looked up at the clock when his neck started hurting again. Three hours had flown by.
He looked to see if the patient was still there. The boy was blatantly staring at him.
Riku shifted in his seat and averted eye contact. He Looked around himself briefly to see what he was staring at.
Rain was hitting the full length window panel wall the café had. He kept checking his phone, but Axel hadn't contacted him. He glanced back up at the boy. He trailed the pencil he was using lightly across his lips. They looked…soft. The teens bright eyes caught his stare. Riku quickly looked down pretending to be busy. The boy smiled into his pencil.
Riku's phone powered off just then. He had forgotten his charger back at the office. Asked the barista If they had working charging ports, They told him they were servicing new ones this week, so they'd be out of service for a while.
His eyes were set on him the moment he got up.
He sat down, and as if instantly the teen appeared before him. His smile could melt a room.
"Heard you need a charger." Riku was apprehensive. The boy smiled warmly at him and continued with the one sided conversation. "Well….I need a hot chocolate. Would a trade interest you?" That smile, he's seen it before.
"You shouldn't take sweets from strangers, Boy."
"Boy?" The boy laughed.
The deep shade of blue his eyes were drew Riku in. His lashes were long and thick. He wanted to touch them. His desperately reminded him of some one, but he couldn't quite place who.
"I'm exchanging services for goods. Basic Supply versus Demand." Riku closed his laptop and locked eyes with him and the devilish smile smeared across his face.
"Look, you really shouldn't be talking to strangers."
"Bad people are every where. Besides, You don't look like you're a kidnapper. Or an Orthodontist." Riku let out a half hearted chuckle.
"Would you like to go up to my room? The charging ports down here aren't working. Youre more than welcome to stay for a bit. After you get me that Chocolate of course." He smiled at him warmly again. Riku paused.
"…Alright. "
He ended up buying the boy a large cup and followed in to his room.
The younger man wheeled his way across his room, and settled himself onto his desk. The room was blank, it looked like a hotel room more than a hospital room, it even had carpet. There were papers littered with notes and materials on the desk. He ruffled around his drawer and pulled out a charging cord, he traded it for the drink in Riku's hand.
"Take a seat."Sora Offered the couch neatly facing the bed
"Why are you here, in this hospital?"
"Why are you?" Riku smirked.
"I'm looking after a friend. She fell ill."
"I'm here because I fell ill." Checkmate.
"You don't give straight answers do you?"
"Not at all. I hope it bothers you."
"How old are you?"
"How old do you want me to be?" His dark blue eyes looked up at Riku with this….odd curiosity. He smiled and pressed him back.
"I'm 26." The boy smirked at Rikus response.
"You bought me a large, your wish's my command. "The young man took the phone from Riku's hand and plugged it in. He made his way over to his own phone next to his nightstand, he sighed heavily after checking it, he shoved it in the drawer.
"Girlfriend text you?" Riku had no reason to ask that question the way he did.
"No. My brother…..hes been gone for a doesn't like texting back."
"You have a brother?"
"We're twins."
"Really? That's cool. How old is he?"
"Hah. Nice try." Riku smirked.
"How long have you….been here…Kid?"
"I'm not a kid. But you know that already."
"What makes you say that?"
" The way you've been looking at me , isn't the way you'd look at a kid."
"…..You're right, It isn't."

Riku's phone lit up with an influx of texts just then.
"It looks like your girlfriends texting." Riku darted up and went to check the notifications. The boy said something inaudible, but Riku wasn't able to catch it. He was busy replying to the text messages. They were from Yuffie. *Axel … can't see?*
"I'm sorry, you said something? I had to reply to my collegue." He was catching up on Axels situation.
"You haven't changed."
"What?" Riku's eyes snapped up.
"You haven't changed clothes for two days straight. Is your friend in bad condition?"
"Oh….yea….she's seen better days. You've been keeping an eye on me?"
"Sort of."
"Are you this friendly with every one?"
"Only with people that look …..y'know…Rich and easily exploitable. "He smiled…. Riku couldn't hold back a smirk. He pulled out his laptop and plugged the chargers in against the wall.
" Your girlfriend sick or something?"
"That's the second time you've mentioned my girlfriend." Riku put his phone down infront of him and gave the teen his undivided attention.
"I mean….you're the one that asked first."
"I did. You still haven't answered." Saphire eyes trailed against his skin. Riku's phone went off. He ignored it.
"Aren't you going to get that?"
"It's not as important as you are right now. How long have you been keeping an eye on us?"
"I saw you guys come in. You and that redhead…with …I mean I didn't get to see her face clearly but the blonde girl looked pretty beat up."
"Something like that… She's some one very important." Sora looked dissapointed
"My red haired friend is closer to her than I am. She got sick and we don't really know what's wrong with her yet." He lied.
"Oh…..I guess were the same then…..They don't really know what's wrong with me either….." Riku sat with his arms crossed. Waiting for him to continue. He caved and kept talking. "I really hate silence…I'm here because I can't remember a lot anymore. They say its lewy body dementia, But it comes and goes….but they cant figure out what triggers it….. I write down everything….because I don't want to forget."
The boy laid all the sheets infront of him scribbled with notes. Riku glanced at them they were all meticulously dated. This is what he was scribbling on in the café. Both of them talked for a bit.
He noticed a poorly sketched star on one of the papers ….it looked ….familiar…
"Whats this?"
"Something from hischool…I cant remember….. but I don't think that's my head I think that's just any one…It keeps appearing…and it changes here and there…its weird I dunno."
He let riku stay as long as he wanted. The conversation settled out and he waited for his electronics to charge. He glanced over at him. His soft tan skin glowed against the hospital lights.
Riku's brows furrowed. Who was he?
Axel settled into the room. They sat him on the couch with ointment. They locked their door on the way out and said they'd be back to check on him in a bit with an update on Alice. She was notified the pateient was showing signs of movement. They set out a bath for him and warned him not to get any in his eyes. He fumbled around and eventually made his way to the bathroom. He fumbled over the coffee table but made his way successfully.
"God….. its been a while." He slipped off his sweaty clothes and plopped them next to the tub. His hands ran across his slicked down hair, the gel ran trailing down his well defined arms into the drain. He felt His skin turn amber against the hot bath water.
He relaxed in the bath for a while and decided to get out when he felt his skin starting to wrinkly. He slung the towl nearby against his hip and made his way out with the blindfold firm in place. He heard the door open. He was in high spirits after the much needed bath. And figured he'd mess with the young Doctor.
"Yuffie? That bastard hasn't replied, were you able to reach him?"
Silence filled the room.
"Oh, You're probably stunned by my good looks and rippling muscles. Don't be shy beansprout. Come here. I'll let you touch, Since you;ve been doing us a solid." He made his way to the door flawlessly and hugged the short haired girl. She had a leaner built than he imagined, He hugged her tighter. "I'll admit you're a lot stronger than you look." She wasn't moving. Silence stayed static in the room.
Something was off.
"Is…..Alice okay? "
"W-Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in my living room?"
Author Note:
I hate the word Chuckle.
I don't know why. But I use it regardless because I don't think this scene read well otherwise:
" Look, you really shouldn't be talking to strangers."
"Bad people are every where. Besides, You don't look like you're a kidnapper. Or an Orthodontist." Riku let out a half hearted Tee-hee."
Till next time, Losers 3
