"hokage-sama, could you help us teaching for a bit?"

"hokage-sama, would you like to taste my new cooking?"

"hokage-sama, my grandparents from a faraway village wish to see you."

"now, tobirama, how could i say no to them? they're my people and it's an honor to have the hokage in their vicinity."

her brother sighed and massaged his temples. "aneja, you're a ninja. you can avoid being seen."

hashirama widened her eyes at the suggestion. "that's rude."

"it's more rude of you not sparing any time for yourself," he protested, gesturing to the dinner before them that had been cold for hours.

"...right." her heart sank with guilt. she promised tobirama to dine together tonight, yet another villager approached asking for her help, making her late. it's been like this in the past month. hashirama rarely slept at home too because she dozed off in her office.

"have you seen madara lately?"

"huh? he's still away, no?"

"...he's been home for a few days."

hashirama blinked. "i... didn't know."

"no wonder he's so irritated."

her appetite gone in an instant. "...what do you mean?"

tobirama continued nonchalantly, "i think the last mission failed because of a subordinate's reckless attitude. he wanted to tell you personally but you were never in the office when he went. he made two of your assistants cried after lashing out to them." he paused to chew. "if you don't see him soon... i'm afraid he'd resort to drastic measures."

somehow, that sent a shiver down her spine, but it wasn't fear.

"alright... i have a guest from the capital tomorrow. i'll find him afterwards."

the guest was a close friend of the fire daimyo, and his entourage. hashirama was supposed to merely accompanying him for lunch, but he insisted for a private tour around the village.

"oh please, hokage-sama, i've been curious about the secretive ninja, please show us how you live."

"ah, but i..."

"it'd be an honor for me if you're willing to explain how you found the village as well!"

this time before she could give an answer, a shadow fell behind her.

"i don't think the hokage will be available for the next three days."

"ma-!"

madara swooped her from behind, carrying hashirama with both arms. "oi, you!" he shouted at her assistant, "take over from here!"

"wait wait wait!" hashirama nearly flailed as they leaped from roof to roof, heading outside the village. "where are you taking me!?"

"there's a nice little cave facing a lake, half a day from here," madara explained with an eerie grin. "i've stocked it with food and other necessities..."

"huh? what? why?"

he stopped atop a large branch, smiling as he looked down at her. "i need to monopolize you, all for myself."

is this what tobirama meant by drastic measures...?

"you don't have to.. i promise i'll-"

his susano'o manifested partially, supporting her body upwards. madara kissed her, and that brief exchange was enough to tell hashirama how much he missed her.

"a... anata..."

the anticipation for the upcoming three days in a cave, alone just with him, sent another shiver down her spine.

this time, it burns with desire.
