"all the writhing stars above, ruins in your wake, aren't enough for you?"

the sword raised above his head paused, hesitating, then lowered as its holder turned around. he clicked his tongue, his annoyance reverberated as gurgling thunder in the distance.

"enough?" he repeated with a mocking tone. "i wonder too, when will they realize that they've passed the point of enough being stupid."

"i mean... we're not done yet discussing what we're going to do about-"

he sheathed his sword. "oh, hashirama. you told me once you hated them for talking to no end while these ungrateful, tiny beings paraded their existential failure."

hashirama looked around. "what beings, madara? there's nothing but dusts here."

"do you think i'm whacking an empty wasteland out of boredom?" madara scoffed. "no-i'm merely starting the cleaning early."

"they're going to throw you beyond the limit." she sat on a melting boulder, her knees were raised close to her chest. her bare feet left dark red marks on its surface.

"i appreciate your concern." he leaned down, kissing her head. "i'm curious what they keep in the dumpster too."

hashirama's face soured.

"the sky's limitless."

"how am i going to find you later?"

his grin faded. "you can... join me beyond the limit?"

"i'd jeopardize my brother's position among them, you knew that..."

whatever reply madara had was swallowed back as hashirama pulled him to a hug.

"you know i haven't seen izuna for long."

"mm." she tightened her hug.

"i'll see you from beyond the limit."

when they pulled away, her face was wet with tears-or how it's supposed to look like, as the air around them wouldn't allow water lingered too long under the hostile atmosphere. even as they spoke, their raiments constantly repairing themselves.

"i'm here to close this seedbed," she mumbled, "and bring you..."

"back," madara finished her sentence.

hashirama stretched her arms, breaking the seams until the space around them started to unmake and fold itself. "i'll find a way, madara," she said with a determination, "i'll see you again-wherever it is."

madara sighed. "...i'll wait for you."

if only hashirama was fine with trespassing the limit...
